1. Food-2 out of a 10, all of us ordered different items and not one of us even remotely enjoyed our meals! The different ethnicity's offered yet none of them represented at all! Nothing was authentic ie. Italian French or Brazilian ! Very disappointed bc we all were looking forward to it and yet we walked away with empty tummy's and FULL to go boxes and a HEFTY BILL! 2. The server lady never even checked back and asked how the entrees were and then just brought the tab and the to go containers and she didn't even notice that not one of us took more than three bites! The only redeeming item was the French baguette truly! 3. Ambiance is AWKWARD NO MUSIC and sitting too closely to strangers in a small tight room again no music and awkward silence and just a strange setting ! We truly wanted to like this place but sadly won't be back to try other menu items My suggestion would be FOCUS on one ethnic food and dial that in before you try three countries specialties and be all over the map w complete failure! Tried a new (to me) place in Gallatin - Alberto's Restaurant & Bakery. Ordered falafel as an appetizer, shrimp carbonara, and a side salad. Would definitely come back to try more. Their soup of the day was spinach potato with parmesan. I did taste the soup and it was delicious. I didn't get a dessert this time, wanted to order their limoncello and mascarpone cake but unfortunately they did not have any today. Have had Alberto's bookmarked for a very long time & finally decided to head out for dinner with my wife on a Friday night. Despite having been here for awhile i think this qualifies as a hidden gem & worthy of a drive out if you are not nearby. The decor is very pretty inside & perfect for a lunch or dinner of 2 to 4 people. Menu has a lot of options & it was hard to make a selection. Luckily our server was patient & we some of the last people in for the night so no rush allowed us to take our time. Funny enough, my wife & i both ordered very similar pasta dishes. The pasta was very good & rich & made for great leftovers the next day. The real highlight for me was the bolinha de queijo appetizer which a generous portion of absolutely stuffed fried cheese balls. These are a must try. We finished with a slice of cheesecake but i ate it before i could take a photo. The pastry/dessert case here is impressive & i plan on trying some of the other choices in the near future. My husband loved his spaghetti bolognese (enough for three meals for him!), which was served with a crispy on the outside and chewy inside baguette. The desert is not that great, our chocolate cake piece was frozen and we couldn't break it because it was kept in the freezer too long and then served to us too cold. At the advice of friends, we made the trip to Alberto's Restaurant and Bakery from Mt Juliet. It's out of the way in a Civil War-era house near the Gallatin-Hendersonville border. Alberto's is a family-run restaurant. Food is prepared to order. Desserts are worth the trip...they either have a great supplier or make in-house. We took home several extra desserts. After surviving COVID, Alberto's is now open daily returning to longer hours--Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner...check hours because some days closed mid-afternoon. Closed Monday. I ordered a delightfully rich Penne Bacon Mushroom in a cream sauce with a glass of the house red wine. Similar to Spaghetti Carbonara but without the egg yolks, and I prefer the Albertos way. Others ordered off the Everyday Brunch menu: Alberto's Breakfast and Ham & Cheese Quiche. Friendly service. Gina runs the front of the house, and she was our server. Tips: * When parking on the premises is tight, then park on the grass as permitted. * BYOW is permitted, and corkage fee is applied. Small Gripe: Limited wine selection and pricy for the area. We really enjoyed our first visit. We were greeted warmly and immediately by a very nice lady who stopped by several times during our visit to check on us and offer suggestions about the menu. This always makes trying new cuisine more fun if you aren't familiar with it. Everything was delicious! It was the best beof bourguignon I've very had. The Chocolatr mouse pie was also excellent. Told them I had limitations and informed there was ramp right next to door. Well handicap spot 60' from ramp, ramp was additional 60' climbing 12'+ to facilities second story. Enough said on that. So called fresh cooked food lack luster and under seasoned. My order should have come with a good Italian sausage, instead it came with low quality kielbasa. Not a single salt or pepper shaker seen on any table. At $30 plus per person I didn't expect worn tables, cheap folded paper napkins, utensils in paper sleeves, and minimal service. Owner didn't seem to care when confronted with issues. Do NOT believe the high ratings or you will be exceptionally disappointed. read more

Parking is easy and there's a ramp if you have trouble with stairs. They're capable of handling a large group too. I don't know if I've ever paid more for a worse meal. I'm sorry to say this because this restaurant seems to be so popular but I couldn't have been more disappointed with such high expecations First, when we arrive on a Saturday night, we were seated directly under the thermostat which read 84 degrees. This was in April and it was warm outside but apparently they didn't think to put some fans up to relieve the heat. The server said that the air conditioning unit had apprently gone out and unfortunatley it was going to likely have to be replaced. That is bad obviously but the lack of reaction to it was disconcerting. The main dining room was even more uncomfortable. The server opened the back door when we pointed this out but it made no difference whatsoever. She took 20% off of our bill which was a nice gesture so the heat didn't influence my rating, but did portend what would happen the rest of the evening. The pacing of the food was very slow. The main dining room only had five other parties and we occupied the only table in the back. There was only one server working with another server delivering food from the bottom floor. I was perturbed about several issues with the experinece. First, there is no beer. You can get wine or a mixed drink but no beer because "it's a different license." I think they've been in business for a few years and to not have a beer license in that time seems absurd to me. I opted for a Diet Coke can as they serve no fountain drinks. The Diet Coke apparently got too warm and the sweetener had broken down so it was flavorless. The server offered to get me a different one but it was likely they were the same. I ordered the Bolinha de Queijo which I've had several times in Brazlilian churascarrias in the US and in Brazil. They were on a par with others that I have so that was a good start. I wasn't crazy about the presentation of the herb sauce and hot sauce being served in plastic cups but whatever. I ordered the Beef Stroganoff and my spouse ordered chicken salad. I also ordered a side side salad. It took about 30 minutes for the salad to arrive. It was a very strange preparation. It consisted primarily of chopped carrots and cucumber slices. The accompanying blue cheese dressing had barely any discernable blue cheese flavor and tasted more of mayonaisse than anything else. I scooped out half the carrots as I like a lettuce based salad, not a carrot based salad. I only at about half of it becuase the dressing was so bad and the carrots were the star (or dud) of the show. My Beef Stranaooff was a huge disappointment as well. The entree is $30 and I would have expected ample portions of meat but there couldn't have been more than 3 or 4 ounces of I'm guessing chuck roast cut into small pieces. The meat was rather dry despite being cooked in a cassarole dish but it told me that it was pre cooked and then added to the casserole four final heating. The sauce was pretty good and served with a few thick sliced mushrooms. But, the primary feature was the whipped potatoes which took up 1/3 of the dish and a very weird addition of shredded cold mozarella cheese. This seems to be a home recipe from the owners but in my opinion, cold cheese has no place in Stroganoff although some recipes do have melted cheese in the sauce, I've never seen it cold shredded mozarella. That was weird. The last detail I did enjoy was that there were fried potato sticks atop the stroganoff which added a nice crispiness. Overall with the price, preparation and value included I would call this a 3/10. The salad and salad dressing were inedible. My spouse was not crazy about the chicken salad either and the serving size was rather small. It was unremarkable and she said she would never order it again. All in all, the experience was disappointing, underwhelming and expensive. If I pay $30 for a chuck roast cassarole I expect to have a decent amout of meat, I expect my salad to be cold and fresh and the salad dressing was not cold..it was room temperature. Just no attention to detail. The most positive thing about the meal was the baked baguette bread. It was nice and hot and perfect texture. I doubt that they bake it there but it was still quite good. read more

This time the family was too large to get a reservation (9) and so we ordered our meal to go. Ready right at pick up, we brought our meal home and enjoyed. The date night started a little disastrous with a blustery storm front rolling in as we drove to the location. Upon entering this darling blue house, I immediately felt a warm "welcome" when I saw the interior of Alberto's. Small bistro tables, a cheese set, beautiful paintings and flowers immediately set the tone for our dinner. Gina greeted us with a big smile and showed us to our table. Alerting us that it might get a bit busy, we began to peruse the menu and delectable dessert bar, while she bustled off to pour our wine in the back. (Note: there is a choice of one red or white, but you can bring your own and simply be charged a corkage fee.) When she returned, she basically gave us a run down of her favorites and we laughed because her brilliant descriptions covered almost the whole menu. Finally, we settled on the finger sampling appetizer, fresh side salad, pasta shrimp carbonara and chicken curry. In no time at all, our entrees arrived and we were oohing and aahing through the whole meal. It's a good sign when your date is making plans to come back before his fork hits the plate! We noticed others coming in and within the hour most of the large dining room and small front room had diners oohing and aahing as well. How frustrated we were with ourselves knowing that this lovely establishment had been here for two years and we just now found it!! Chicken risotto was un-edible. Tangy and sour. Carbonara was good. Curry was way over salted. Almost un-edible Brie toast was ok Mediterranean salad was good. Dressing was good. Service was TERRIBLE. We saw our server maybe 3 times. Had to ask the table next to us for pepper. After we asked for the check, she brought it and never returned. We had to go into the server area to pay. She was busy talking with her coworker. Don't be fooled by the 4 stars. The 2 dishes that were good were not worth going back for. Oh and the restroom was blocked by a table with people at it. We finally tried Alberto's after hearing and reading so many good reviews. Quite frankly, our experience didn't live up to the reputation. The place was close to empty when we arrived at the time of our reservation, but I was surprised we were led past so many empty tables and seated within arms length of the restroom. Service was quick but otherwise unremarkable. Our appetizer was great (although it was surprising the sauces were served in little plastic cups with lids like we had ordered takeout) but our meals failed to even approach the same level. My dinner was tasty but the portions were very small, especially for the price. My wife wasn't as fortunate. Her meal just wasn't good. She left most of it on her plate. Sometimes people really like the idea of a place, especially when it's different from the limited selection of mostly chain restaurants offering dinner in a community. They can let liking the idea (and maybe a little hometown bias) lead them to overlooking when the execution doesn't live up to the concept. Maybe that's what happening to gain Alberto's such high marks. read more

What a great little place. Visiting Galliton on business and wanted a local place and not a chain. Found Alberto's here on Yelp and so happy I did. Walked in with 3 other groups and the waiter got a little frazzled but recovered well. Ordered the Quibi and Chicken Curry and was not disappointed. Both were excellent with the Quibi having just the right crunch when bitten into and the curry was a great balance of spice. I didn't have room for dessert but the dessert case looked amazing. Overall excellent and will come back if in town. Note: That his is a BYOA (bring your own alcohol) type establishment. Don't let the wine bottles I show in my picture fool you. read more

If only there were more than 5 stars on Yelp, this place deserves every single one. I didn't take pictures, and the ones on here don't convey a fraction of the warmth and deliciousness of this place. Which has been open 4 years. I'm a little foodie, how did I not know? Wonderful experience. One of the owner family greeted us with a genuinely friendly demeanor and grace. She engaged each of our party of 4 and the server, though much younger, had a similar enthusiasm to be there serving our dinner. Which was just plain ridiculous, in a great way. I liked the ambience, vibe and decor right away, then the point of being there is the flavor, right? It did more than 'didn't disappoint'. These folks can COOK yall! Unique dishes inspired from Brazilian and European foods. We started with finger food appetizer. One each of their first 4 appetizers on the menu, all new to me. Two orders was perfect for the table of 4. We cut them in half and each tried all varieties. I'd recommend them, especially if the cuisine is something you haven't tried. Between the table, I got to try two more dishes. I ordered the risotto with shrimp, bacon and mushroom and sampled the chicken stroganoff. Another person got a salad with grilled chicken. It looked amazing, my date said it was wonderful. But give me all the hearty ethnic dishes in a new place :) The chicken stroganoff was fantastic and for the risotto, I have no words that do it right. I was mad I couldn't finish it all. I'm perplexed by all the great reviews. Our server was sweet and the building was cute but that's about all this place has going for it. We arrived at 6:15 on a Saturday evening and the place was almost empty. We ordered coffee first thing and it took15 minutes. Mine was hot but my husband's wasn't. We ordered and shared the pastel. It was OK at best. I was there for dessert and ordered the chocolate cake. It tasted like it had sat in that display for a month. I really wanted to like this place but so disappointing. Our server said it wasn't their busy season. Hardly a good reason for serving old food. I don't mind paying when the food is worth it but clearly Alberto's has dropped their efforts to charge these prices. Sorry but cordial servers and decent ambiance isn't gonna cut it here. read more

Lucky to find this gem on Yelp, and we were not disappointed. We started with appetizers trying the finger food sampler. They were all fried in shapes that looked like Falafel, but only one was Falafel. The flavors were: One bolinha de queijo, one coxinha beef, one coxinha chicken, one coxinha ham & cheese, one quibe. All were good, but we preferred the Falafel and Bolinha de queijo. But definitely would order this appetizer again. For my entrée I ordered the Chicken Caldos which was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly (both the rice and meat), and the sauce was absolutely amazing as it was seasoned to perfection and taste was elite. My fiancé ordered the Risotto with Brie and added shrimp. The Risotto was cooked perfectly, and it paired very well with the shrimp and brie. I really enjoyed this dish too. We shared a chocolate cheesecake with strawberries for dessert, and it was so amazing. The service was also top notch, but I can't remember our servers name (younger female with brunette hair) She was an amazing server as she was very friendly, attentive, and helpful.
