Beware of To Go order portions! A few weeks ago, this location changed their policy to smaller servings, but kept the same price. Deceitful to say the least. Tried this for breakfast last weekend. Basic breakfast offerings, as in eggs, pancakes, omelettes, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary or original. We had the denver omlette and one that came with chicken fried steak. Same ole menu I'm used to seeing anywhere, but it's the execution that makes this place special. Many people at my job have raves about this place so today I thought to try it out with my daughter & sister. The food- Disappointing, tasteless and boring. My 9 year old says "it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either." My sister ordered dressing and yams... "they tried it." Yams were straight out of the can (Bruce makes better yams). Stopped by here after Sunday service and it was okay. It was definitely a very "diner like" environment. We sat at the bar top so we can watch the Cowboys while we eat. Although the wait staff wasn't very quick to serve us when we first sat down, our food came out really fast. His - Chicken Fried steak with green beans, mashed potatoes, and fried okra (Sunday Special). The chicken fried steak was mediocre. It was small, not crispy, and just splattered with gravy. The sides however were good. The rolls were a lot better than the biscuits. Hers - Mama's Favorite breakfast with 2 over medium eggs, hash browns, biscuits with sausage gravy, and 2 sausage patties. Ok so I tried it again. I ordered chicken fried steak, mash with gravy, sweet potatos, and a side of dressing. Unfortunately, it was soooooo underwhelming. The steak was good but the rest was barely edible. The gravy was runny which made the potatos watery, sweet potatoes were not sweet, and the dressing was not my taste but dressing varies on how its made so no worries there. Well actually there is a list of bread and meat you can get. That's just what I wanted. The food was great and to top it off, it was just $5.49!!! Yes, that's right folks!!! DISGUSTING! We had been to the other ones on Harry Hines and Industrial for lunch in previous years so why not dinner in Plano? OMG- the portions were minute served on plastic, of course. Everything is pre-cooked and must be sitting on steam because the food arrived less than 5 minutes after we ordered. Baked chicken- I have seen bigger pigeons! Most veggies are cooked with some type of meat so there goes the veggie plate options.... Mac and cheese was fake orange and tasteless. Chicken and dumplings had only a few pieces of meat. Servers were talking so loud in the empty restaurant that their shrill voices echoed across the rooms. Go to cowboy chicken instead- we could have had a whole chicken for the price we were charged. The mashed potatoes were standard variety with gravy. The mac & cheese was a disappointment. I just didn't care for the flavor. For dessert, I had the strawberry banana pie. It was OK, but didn't blow me away. I'd probably recommend trying another pie instead. If you're in the mood for diner food, it's an option to consider. We hardly order through Uber eats but tonight decided to treat ourselves. Well the restaurant completely screwed the order up! Mama's Daughters Diner failed! We learned about the events via driver,UberEats and Mama's Daughters Diner. We went to Mama's Daughters Diner 6 years ago and it was a disaster! The order was completely wrong back then and way too salty! I love my salt so for me to say it's too salty is huge. Fast forward to today and we give it a try again, because we see that their reviews have changed and are higher. Plus the Cinnabon enticed me. Guess what? They still suck! We ordered a breakfast platter, 2 patty melts, cheeseburger, Texas fries, onion rings and 3 Cinnabon's. Want to know what we got? Biscuits, eggs, and the Cinnabon's. Great, so we just get dessert and no dinner. So let's critique what we did get. The eggs were not how they were ordered. They were ordered fried but we received one over easy and one over medium. (Really?) moving onto the biscuits, gross! Pillsbury does better!! They were rock hard, burnt on the bottoms and a little too done on the top. The gravy was bland and uneventful and I have NO IDEA what that meat was that they were trying to pass off. The highlight of the "meal" was our Cinnabon's. That was actually good. Not like getting a Cinnabon from Cinnabon but decent and went well with my coffee that I turned into my dinner. However the biscuits and Cinnabon left a weird taste. Upon putting a complaint in with UberEats we also called Mama's Daughters Diner. We spoke with Louise who admitted that she forgot to hand the driver the other half of our order and she said we could drive back to get it. We have no car so that didn't work. Offered to mail us a gift card, again no car. So that still doesn't work. As we can't use the gift card through UberEats. UberEats was wonderful and credited the $65 or so back. If it's so hard to make sure an order is all there before leaving your establishment than obviously this restaurant doesn't care about its legacy/name. We will never return. Dinner ruined. read more

Got her at 0630 on a weekday and was seated immediately. It's cold in here, so bring a sweater. The temp is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Even though my server brought my fantastic breakfast to my table immediately, the edges of the eggs and potatoes were chilly, while the middle of the plate still steamed.
