I'll be honest. The food looks great, the coffee was tasty, and the atmosphere is awesome. However, I don't think I could become a frequent flyer because of the prices. The pastries were $5-6 which was reasonable. But, I ordered their seasonal almond croissant latte and it was $9.25. The latte was good but I felt very over priced. I love a good coffee shop but can't stomach almost $10 just for a coffee. Love the decor and the atmosphere though, it was very busy as well.

Maman had great coffee, cute two-person tables, and an excellent selection of pastries, including a strawberry citrus "cruffin" that was delightful!

Maman on Wilson Boulevard in Arlington (Ballston area) is a popular cafe known for its charming French-country style, with floral decorations and a cozy, garden-like atmosphere. It offers exceptional coffee, seasonal drinks, and pastries such as Orange Pistachio Olive Oil Tea Cake, Kouign Maman, Martha Stewart's Milk Chocolate Creme Brulee Sugar Bun, and Pear & Cardamom Turnover. The cafe also serves high-quality breakfast items like Andrea's Smoked Salmon Croissant Sandwich and Caitlin's Breakfast Wrap, making it an ideal spot for breakfast, coffee, pastries, and gatherings or relaxing in the Ballston area.

    Matcha strawberry lemonade

TLDR; overhyped and overpriced. I've been here about three times and the place is consistently lackluster. The drinks are made to an ungodly sweetness and the pastries aren't too special. The baristas work on autopilot -- if it says no ice, they'll fill it with ice and to the brim such that putting a to-go cap on the drink turns into a messy test of patience. The baristas show no semblance of customer service and throw a sloppy drink together if you point out a faulty order. I had to pour out my drink so I could add water, and if you can believe it, it didn't blend during the pour -- it came to me looking like sewage water. There are better cafes in the area, so don't waste your time here. Update: a couple of hours later and the lemonade started wreaking havoc on my stomach

    Sakura Cherry Croissant Cube

our first time at a maman and would absolutely come back. Not only was the food fresh and delicious and unique (we got a special Sakura croissant cube, perfect for cherry blossom season in DC, charlotte's sunrise spread, an incredible bacon sandwich with jammy peppers and tomatoes), but the staff here is incredible!! They were so kind and helpful and provided great vibes all around!

Well hello there... I'm delighted to write this review of Tupelo Honey…read more Let me first start off by saying I was fortunate enough to attend the opening of the original one in Asheville, NC then I went to the opening of second one in my hometown of Greenville, SC. I must say Tupelo Honey Is such a beautifully crafted place that pulls you out of the everyday hustle and bustle and places you within the southern comfort and warmth that oozes through the ambiance with smiles when they great you. It's natural unforced southern hospitality from A-Z. Also of note If you're able to please ask for the (Chef's Table) and thank me later! Now to the food I started off with the famous fried green tomatoes as an appetizer then I ordered a fresh squeezed pineapple juice that was just delicious after that the amazing shrimp and grits that's so delightful and the creole sauce is blended to perfection. Here's a little food hack for ya, add pieces of your fried green tomatoes into your shrimp and grits I promise you won't regret it!! for dessert you absolutely have to try the strawberry butter pecan cheesecake!! Whaaaaaat?? Yes... you read that correctly.. so just take my word for it and trust me"The Butler Brand Review" I will always remain true.. Hats off to you Tupelo Honey of Arlington, VA it's awesome to know that the classic signature of your brand remains the same no matter the location!!! But all I ask let's kick it up a notch and put one in NY and CT why not show the Tri state and New England area some love and what they've been missing!!! I'm here to help lol Happy dining, W.D.

There is plenty of seating for all party sizes. We were quickly seated and the waitress almost took so long to come we almost left. We ended up ordering the French toast along with the classic chicken and waffles. Our food arrived and of course no syrup came. By the time the syrup arrived the waffle was now like warm and my 3 toddler sized/ seasonless, bland chicken strips were finished. The waffle was ok. The two slices of French toast were ok. A side would have been nice. Overall this was a one and done for me. The food wasn't good and the service was lacking.

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.

About that $23 salad: The portion is a little skeet (that's an STL term - look it up) but the chicken was honestly juicy and flavorful as hell. And, the salad was full of very fresh spinach, and maybe other greens, as well as a good dressing. They provided a healthy amount of shaved Parmesan, which is my favorite. I would definitely order this again if I knew I was going to be around for a while and really wanted a salad. The vibe inside is so cute. This particular location is huge and there are various types of seating available. They have Wi-Fi, which is helpful., and some of their furniture is super comfy. It is the perfect place to connect or reconnect with a friend. I have never been much of a coffee shop, girl, but I could definitely see myself coming here multiple times a week. Service was good. We went on a Saturday night and made a reservation, which I'd definitely recommend. The space is so unique and artsy. The walls are covered with beautiful artwork (some of which you can actually purchase), and even the menus are works of art. It made the whole experience feel fun and creative. The staff was wonderful, especially our server Noah, who was incredibly attentive and made the experience even better. We did the bottomless dinner, and the value is honestly unbeatable. We tried the grilled gem lettuce, marinated cucumbers, street corn, hoisin-glazed pork belly bao buns, P22 cheeseburger sliders, spicy shrimp & pancetta pizza, funghi pizza, dan dan noodles, rigatoni norcina, and the sesame steak skewers. Everything was delicious, but the standouts were the dan dan noodles (rich, savory, and packed with flavor), the funghi pizza (crispy with earthy mushrooms and perfectly melted cheese), and the sesame steak skewers (tender, juicy, and coated in a flavorful sesame glaze). The hoisin-glazed pork belly bao buns were soft, fluffy, and packed with melt-in-your-mouth pork, while the rigatoni norcina was creamy, comforting, and perfectly cooked. The grilled gem lettuce was also a fresh, flavorful way to start the meal. For drinks, the white sangria and pomegranate ginger mocktail were both refreshing and delicious. Dessert didn't disappoint either, the flourless chocolate cake (with candied pecans instead of hazelnuts) was rich without feeling too heavy, and the churros were light, crispy, and perfect with the caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. We finished with cappuccinos, which were the perfect ending to the meal. 10/10 experience, we'll definitely be back!

There is an all you can eat option in which your entire table has to order, or you can order a la carte. I ordered primarily off the happy hour menu which included the chicken slider, shrimp tacos, jerk chicken skewer, garlic wings and for dessert, I got churros. Most of the food here were extremely salty and did not agree with my palate. The shrimp tacos were the best thing I ate as the veggies gave the taco a refreshing taste. Not the most sanitary either as I found a piece of hair in my food. There is a parking garage nearby a block away.
