This place is so frustrating for delivery. The chicken pho is really good but the delivery literally takes 2 hours. I don't order here often at all anymore which is super disappointing. I'm not sure what the issue is but there always seems to be one. I have been going to this place for a a long time, since they opened originally, and would have to agree with many of the comments posted lately. I don't think the new owners have a clue what they are doing besides cutting corners to make a profit. The Pho is definitely not as good as it used to be which is sad because it was never great to begin with anyway. Now it is actually terrible. The sprouts are pre-mixed into the broth (seemingly non-existent), the noodles overcooked, only one slice of lime and a few shriveled up pieces of basil. Worst of all the broth is now more oily than usual, has a gamey flavor, and was not hot enough to finish cooking the meat which is definitely not grass-fed. Beware! read more

Sometimes I just need pho. The pho here is great. I usually either get the rib-eye or the mushroom and tofu one, but the lemongrass chicken is good too. The broth has just the right amount of salt and is very tasty. I would give them another star if the meat was a little better quality. The change in management has ruined this place for me. I used to love coming here for a quick, but satisfying bite. Now you get less food for more money. I've ordered the classic banh mi a few times since they've made management changes, and every time it's been cold and the bread hard. I don't let a week go by without visiting Mama Pho at least once. They are speedy, fairly priced and serve up delicious foods. The only issue I have with this place is that my stomach isn't large enough put away a banh mi and a bowl of pho in one sitting. In my two experiences once it took twice as long as expected and multiple phone calls and the other time I got an email saying "restaurant closed early" and my order was cancelled. This place is NOT the place for VEGANS nor VEGETARIANS. I went there today because my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, Falansai on Harrison place doesn't open today, Sunday till 5:30 pm for dinner. I wanted to order the mushroom & tofu pho... But I couldn't because it contained BEEF broth! Why? This ISN'T vegan/vegetarian pho! I I ordered the spring rolls & they were all noodles. Bummer! It only had a few little pieces of carrots... Terrible! My Girlfriend ordered a fish Pho and even that had BEEF BROTH!! Why? Why not fish broth?? I ordered the mushroom & tofu sandwich. It was ok... I ate half the sandwich and the took out the filling of the other half and put it in a noodle salad that I bought. Which also was full of noodles and lacked vegetables. So with that said... The food is decent, but the service is not good. After I get my food, the guy behind the counter completely forgets about me. The server never asks if I'd like my food to go, never brings me a check, never refills my water. From what I can tell, if you want the people here to take care of you after you've gotten your food, you have to actually get up and ask for help. Perhaps that doesn't bother other people, but why would I pay extra money to eat in the restaurant if the server just ignores me? This is a first impressions review. Went to mama pho and it was small and had wooden chairs and tables and bar stools. Not very comfortable to serve comfort food in but still it was cute. Prices didn't seem bad with the cheapest food being the 5 dollar dumpings and 5 to 6 dollar sandwiches and the most expensive being the many varieties of pho they had ranging from 9 to about 15 bucks. I had ordered a rib eye sandwich and crispy dumplings my cousin ordered the same sandwich and spring rolls. This is my first time having a Vietnamese sandwich so I don't know if this was to be expected but there was not a lot of meat in my sandwich, in fact there was very little, most of it was made up of strips of a veggie the sandwich was also kind of bland. The baguette it was in was tasty though and the fact that they make sure they have hoisen and siracha sauce everywhere that made my sandwich a ton better. The dumplings were okay, a little tough to eat and my cousins spring rolls were light and pretty tasty. One thing that annoyed me the most was that it took about 30 to 40 minutes to get our food out. It seems that everyone, including people that ordered after us, that ordered pho got their food before us. The pho i was seeing being served looked and smelled delicious and was served in big bowls. That's actually the only reason I would come back to this place, is to try to the pho, the food I ordered just seemed mediocre in taste. Hopefully I'll have a better experience next time. read more

I picked up two orders of pho and they put them in such flimsy containers that after a pretty gentle curve in my car the fell sideways and both containers exploded, spilling broth everywhere. They should have better containers and until then warn every customer of the danger of exploding soup containers. The Pho broth is next level delicious.They did, however, recently, change the chef and he puts way too much fresh chilli on top and it was very thick with grease all of a sudden. It hurts me to have to write this review because I love the food and the food itself deserves 4-5 stars. But as a restaurant owner my intention is to grab the attention of the owner of Mama pho because they deserve to know what's happening when they are not around. The customer service is terrible. The man working the register is rude and slow. (And that's usually). Today specifically, while waiting for my food, I overheard a conversation the counter man was having with a customer, apparently they had gotten their delivery and had ordered pho but there was no broth! So the counter man says, "sorry we're already closed" (This was 9:30 and they close at 10, mind you). Wow!! So when I received my order, I looked in the bag to find, surprise, NO BROTH. Then I had to wait at least 5 more minutes for that. As I'm waiting, I decide to sauce up my bahn mi and when I open it there is not a single piece of cilantro to be found. So I had to hand the sand which over for them to add 1 of the 3 parts of a bann mi. All in all, just a really poor experience. If you have the time, just go to the LES or Chinatown to get your Vietnamese craving fulfilled. And if you do order here, check your food before you leave or before the delivery man leaves!!! read more
