This was only our second visit. Our first, when they very first opened, was a decent experience. We figured they were working out the kinks. Our return visit was so much better. The staff was super friendly and our food was hot and yummy. We will be back. read more

Nice experience here today. Jenn was a wonderful positive server. Fun drinks and the lobster roll is nummy. read more

Hi it feels bad to write this because we usually love your food and frequent you a lot! But last night it was bad! You were out of our favorite app the Chicken wings! I ordered 2 appetizers the coconut shrimp was extremely over cooked and you could barely taste any coconut. The crab fries were just ok and my boyfriend always gets the jambalaya and he said last it was awful. I hope it was just a off night read more

Simply put, they have the best and most authentic lobster roll in the state!! And the lobster mac & cheese to die for-!! And really nice people work there!! read more

I stayed at the adjoining hotel and having this restaurant there was very convenient. I ordered a lobster roll and a seasonal cocktail. The roll had nice chunks of lobster. The value was definitely there. Service and food were awesome. read more

Superb meal! The service and meal were wonderful, corn chowder and fish n chips, delightful. The chips(fries) and fish were excellent quality. My server Ava was awesome! Will be back read more

I think I just found my new favorite go-to restaurant! This location used to be a Red Robin but you could never tell because the revamp looks amazing! Definitely gives off a cool mid scale bar/restaurant feel. My group was sat promptly and our server Rachel was quick to great us with waters and get our drink orders. She gave excellent service throughout our meal. We showed up during happy hour so we each had $2 off signature cocktails. I chose to order the raspberry lemon drop martini. I will say the only downside to my experience was when my first martini showed up only half full. I immediately laughed and said to my friends "where's the rest of my martini?" At first we questioned if it was a larger glass but nope, it was a standard sized martini glass, so that was disappointing. My second martini with dinner was a bit more full which i appreciated but still not as full as you would normally see. The flavor was good, a mix of sweet and tart with a sugar rim. My friends had an old fashioned and their signature margarita. Both enjoyed their drinks. For an app we decided to try the Seafood Campechana Dip and it was fantastic! I personal would consider it more of a salsa than dip, but it was extremely flavorful and very refreshing. Not very often do you find something that tastes great and is healthy as well. For dinner I opted to try the lobster roll with fries. It was a bit smaller than I imagined but they pile this sandwich high with lobster! Unlike make other lobster rolls you find it wasn't all vegetables and mayo. The fries were good as well, light and crispy. My friends had the Hot Chicken sandwich with veggie fries and the Korean chicken tacos, both loved their meals as well! I got to try the hot chicken and that was delicious. The outside was very crispy and the chicken was juicy. There was some heat to it but nothing outrageous. I tried a veggie fry as well, made from carrots and asparagus flash fried, and it was super tasty! As if we didn't have enough for dinner we also chose to get a slice of key lime pie and cheesecake to share. Personally I wasn't a fan of the key lime, it had the rind baked in and gave it more of a bitter taste. However I am not a big pie fan to begin with. The cheesecake was very good tho. Creamy topped with fresh strawberries. Overall we had a great experience and might be making this place our new local favorite! read more

Went there on a whim. Had the corn chowder and sandwich. Service was good, atmosphere ok, bar drinks. Nothing bad to say just no warm fuzzy to go back read more

Best Lobster Tacos this side of Cape Canaveral. Service was beyond reproach. Prices wear more than fair. A nice place to sit and relax. read more

The service was horrible. Our appetizers came out the same time as our food was never asked for a drink just brought water. We ordered the Korean bbq tacos and the Korean bbq meatballs. The tacos were soggy and cold. The meatballs were cold in the middle, the green beans and carrot appetizer came out and the green beans were cold the waitresses and the people in the atmosphere there that work there were horrible. I would never come back to this location again, I usually go to the Shakopee location and the people there are so warm and so nice and the food is so good and always hot. Bloomington really needs to step their game up. . read more

Got this delivered from DoorDash to my hotel nearby for late lunch. The fish tacos were very good, especially the crema. Even the side limes were big enough to get real juice on the tacos. Also had the spinach salad with goat cheese and strawberries. Every Single Piece of spinach was perfect. That's no easy task. The portions were generous. Highly recommend. read more

Worst lunch in years. The Tennessee chicken sandwich was horrible. The oil used had a bad taste that stayed behind no matter what. Couldn't take more than 2 bites. The bun was soaked with same oil. We also had a salad that was mediocre at best. Definitely not returning. read more

Overall, this was an excellent choice for our dinner for 4. Convenient location with ample parking; lots of space inside but not overly noisy so we could have a conversation. Lots of gluten-free choices. I had shrimp & grits which was excellent - more food than any human can eat at one sitting, though! So, go expecting to take home some leftovers. Service was prompt and friendly. read more

Food ambiance music service, all suburbs! I had the breakfast burrito and I was quite pleased. Flavorful had a nice kick to it, nothing to overpowering and it was quite filling. From the cheesy hash browns, the bacon and scrambled eggs, each one had the right amount of crunch fluff and flavorness. If you're a morning person and you're in the area and would like to start the day off with breakfast, this is definitely a nice little spot to get your day going. Will deff be back! read more

Granted it was Mothers Day, but our server was less than happy to be there and it showed. Our drink orders were 20 min in waiting , then our order was held up for 45 min. The food was cold... poached eggs don't work well cold. The crab cake was tuna tasting. The plus was the pastries and fruit. Total experience was a dud. read more

Too expensive for what it is but it's a decent place. Went one time. Not sure if I'll return.

UPDATED REVIEW: We decided to give Mallards another try after our last experience (see past review). I was excited to try their Feast of the Seven Fishes, a Southern Italian tradition I enjoyed in my youth prepared by my Italian grandma. The first course was calamari and clams, beautifully coated with a light tempura batter, fried to perfection, and served with tartar sauce. I was hoping that the clams were whole, but they were clam strips with no differentiation in texture or flavor from the calamari. The second course was a shrimp & rice salad with julienned greens and a smoked salmon dressing. This was very delicious and probably my most enjoyable dish of the evening. The lobster bisque was subpar at best. The predominant flavor was uncooked roux lacking any butter or lobster flavor. There were some tiny floating bits of lobster but I cannot recommend this bisque. The third course was sea bass served over a crab rice dish. The portion of sea bass was a small 3" x 3" x 1/2" piece that was cooked well and tasty, but under-portioned to enjoy fully. The rice dish had hardly any crab, although the flavor was okay. Finally, the fourth course was a chocolate mouse that I swear was made from cocoa-flavored Cool Whip. I was underwhelmed by this meal and would have preferred to pay an extra $10 - $20 more for a chef-quality meal instead of what seemed like a fast-food presentation of a 4-course fish dinner, so I left disappointed instead. However, our server was excellent, friendly, and prompt. read more

I love this place. Travel to Bloomington, MN for work often and always look forward to eating here. I've only had the jambalaya...and that's because it is the best I've ever had. I travel the country and have eaten my way through the low country...and I can't believe that a suburb of Minneapolis has my favorite jambalaya. I'll leave it at that. read more

Love their lobster rolls. Very generous amount of lobster meat, right amount of dressing. Prefer their version to any other lobster rolls available in south suburbs. read more

Service was good, ambiance is nice. Getting to food.... wife had fish n chips and the fish shredded instead of flaked. The jambalaya was bland but half a bottle of banana pepper sauce gave it some flavor. Would have been fine until I got the over cooked risotto.... gummy isn't what I was looking for. Good potential on the menu but needs a cook with some regard for the food. read more

Service was fantastic. Food was average, but the price is reasonable compared to other sea food restaurants. A nice meal.

I'm just going to say the lobster quiche here ar a weekend brunch should have a warning, danger: habit forming. It is that good paired very well with the hollandaise sauce. Typically I avoid ordering shellfish or oyster when I'm not on the coast and I'm not a fan of hollandaise sauce covered benidicts, but this quiche had so much succulant minced lobster and the sauce complimented the lobster so well, let's just say it pays to have an open mind. Pleasant open interior and excellent service included. read more

After having an issue at this restaurant a couple weeks ago for over charging my credit card... I wanted to update my old review. The manager (Heather) contacted me right away and wanted to fix the problem asap. She was very professional. She not only returned the money that I was over charged...but also invited me back to try them again with a gift card (that I was not expecting at all!). The part that impressed me the most was the sincere apology letter that was included. I can tell Heather is truly a great manager and will probably give this place a second chance because of her. Kudos to Heather! read more

I've been to Mallards twice: once for lunch and once for dinner. I was not impressed. The service is great, the food is pretty pedestrian. For lunch, my girlfriend and I each had clam chowder and shared the lobster roll. Neither was as I expected. The lobster roll was a huge disappointment as it lacked flavor. The clam chowder, while "New England style " was brothy. It's a very poor value for the money. There are many other spots that have better food for less money. I would not choose this restaurant again. read more

Extremely cold inside. Food was just okay and the service was not good at all. Overall very disappointed

Customer service was great. The food and drinks were really good. I love the wings and apply pie. The atmosphere was perfect.

My friend and I decided to try Mallards. We thought they did a nice job remodeling the inside (used to be Red Robin) and liked the ambiance. We ordered SEAFOOD CAMPECHANA as an appetizer and it was delicious I ordered BARRAMUNDI RODRIGO. The coconut wasn't too strong and the risotto went very well with sea bass. My friend ordered PECAN CRUSTED WALLEYE and she loved it. The overall service was good as well. read more

Attentive servers, even in the bar. Don't hesitate: order the lobster role. It IS as good aa they say

I love this place for dinner but we went Friday, Nov 4, 2022 for happy hour and the bartender was the pits. No customer service skills at all. Never a smile or welcome in, sauntered around like he was bored with nothing to do, zero eye contact so getting his attention to order was a chore and we left after 1 drink. I had brought a friend an bragged about it as a dinner place. Not a great first impression for her. More staff training may be needed in the bar. read more

the worst online menu and no access to thespecials Food is inconsistent and often cold

I had the Tennesee Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was huge and very spicy. I thought the chicken was a bit dry... maybe fried too long? Fries were just OK. They were warm but not hot. Husband had chicken salad sandwich which had lots of chicken and was good. Chili was ordinary but fine. Service was OK but not great as we had to wait quite a long time to get the check, plus the server didn't check back to see if the food was ok. We didn't have a particularly good experience, but we were here a year ago for dinner and were pleased so we'll try it again. read more
