On the day of the move, Alfredo and his boys were on time and ready to work. Masks were worn throughout the whole move and social distancing between the movers and myself were always a must. Just had our big move with Alfredo and his team! The price was pretty affordable and the service was outstanding. I researched a few places on the island but everything had additional fees and all these other charges. When I reached out to Alfredo, he made everything very easy and straight to the point. We needed to move from Kaimukī to Kailua. When the movers we had used last year turned out crazy expensive, we started calling around. My cousin gave us Alfredo's number since that's who they were using for their upcoming move. Although my husband was the only one in our family to interact with Alfredo, my husband had only wonderful things to say. He said Alfredo and the guy working with him were kind and friendly on the phone and in person. When it came time for moving day, they showed up early (we had discussed this as a possibility earlier, so this was a very good thing). The move took longer than expected, but we had a lot of stuff. My anxiety was pretty high given the pandemic and all. But, my husband reported that both Alfredo and his worker wore masks THE ENTIRE TIME. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. The work itself was good too. I've finished unpacking the kitchen stuff and have yet to find a single crack or chip in a cup, plate or bowl. Alfredo was very responsive and gave me a flat rate quote by email on a Saturday evening. I needed the expertise of a mover to move an antique tansu chest and painting. Making Moves showed up 30 minutes early (they warned me by phone that they would be early) and quickly prepared the tansu chest and painting for transport. I was very impressed with the care that they took to protect the items. They wrapped the tansu chest in blankets, then used a plastic wrap to thoroughly secure the blankets and chest. You know me... it's got to be really bad or really awesome for me to write a review. Making Moves is so good, that I would use Alfredo 100% of the time. They were punctual (actually, they came early and I can't complain). I moved out of a condo which has a very very small elevator into a house. He charges by the hour and depending on how much stuff you've got to move will depend on how many people will be there to move your stuff. I was a bit skeptical at first because he charges by the hour, thinking that they can take their time and bill me for the slow work to charge me more. WRONG!!!! They moved so quickly, it was like a race, and they packed their truck to the gill, like pros playing Tetris. They were careful with all my furniture, and saran wrapped any drawers or anything that may have moving parts. Everyone was courteous and so fast moving. Alfredo is a professional and a very good hearted person to work with. There were some furniture that I purchased from the previous owner, Alfredo and his group took the huge bed frame apart and assembled it together in another room, then my daughter felt it was too big and didn't want it, so Alfredo and his group took it apart again and was able to junk it for me. I also had other furniture items that I didn't want to take to the new home, and so Making moves took it and junked it for me. At the new house, they were so careful going down the stairs so as not to scratch the walls or nick the wooden rails, and again while moving fast. Seriously seriously AWESOME!!!! We had a move from Wilhelmina Rise to St. Louis Heights - both with flights of stairs and uphill. The team did a FANTASTIC job and I was impressed with how quick everything happened! They carefully wrapped all items, no extra charge for bags, plastic wrap covering or anything!
