I used Elijah to diagnose and trouble shoot a problem with my older Denon AVR. He was prompt in setting up an appointment and came over on time. His diagnose confirmed what I had thought. He recommended several new alternative AVR models some less expensive but worth considering. I ended up buying an new Yamaha AVR and soft baton remote. He came over and installed and set up my system. Kind of complicated 7.1 with also whole house audio. We had a great experience with Make Places Smart! I reached out to a few people to give them an idea of our project and ask for some quotes. Elijah was the only one who I could tell read every part of my message and responded to each question. A few others (who shall remain unnamed) would only respond to one part of my message which meant that I had to then send multiple messages to ask the same questions over again. So, right off the bat - he was the easiest to communicate with and he also responded promptly each time. We had a two-part job. The first part of our project involved light switches that control five pocket lights in our living room. A few years ago, we had a different electrician put in three more lights on the other side of the room (we only had 2 lights before and they were only on one side of the room). At the time he told us it wasn't possible to get all five lights on the same switch and he busted open the wall and put in a second switch (without asking us where we'd like the switch). Much to my chagrin, he put it about 6 inches away from the other one leaving an odd gap in the middle, and to add insult to injury the switch on the left controlled the right side of the room and the switch on the right controlled the left side of the room. It drove everyone nuts, and the two switches didn't match at all and weren't lined up with each other. For three years, I've been upset every time I stared at that wall! So, I had initially asked Elijah if he would simply be able to move one switch over and swap them so they could at the very least sit on one single two-gang plate and at least be matching styles. But, he did ONE BETTER - he got all five of the lights on to the same switch which is what we wanted in the first place! The second part of our project involved mounting our TV onto the wall. The TV is large and heavy and awkward. Elijah told us which type of mount we should purchase in advance and then he swooped in and was able to mount it onto the wall and drop all the cables behind the wall in about an hour. Elijah was super easy to work with. He was able to schedule around our availability. And his rates were very reasonable and competitive. I would recommend him to anyone needing AV/Electrical/TV Mounting help! I'm really loving the way it looks and is all cleaned up and organized now and the single switch outcome is just the cherry on top that was a very welcome surprise. read more
