Eugene and Herman are awesome. I had a random work request for new network cable runs for my home-office and add additional security cameras. The work wasn't easy considering what they had to go through for some of these runs, but it didn't stop them from going above and beyond. Everything turned out great and they even went as far as to organize the mess of wires in the server closet and security box, not necessary but super impressed with their attitude and work ethic. I posted a request for help on the HTP website on a Sunday. On Monday morning, Gavin called me and we discussed my wiring issues for 15 minutes. First, I appreciate the quick response. Second, Gavin asked lots of detailed questions in order to understand the situation (attic, external wall, IT closet etc.). As a retired engineer, I appreciate the intent to understand the problem before promising a solution. Gavin pointed out the problems and suggested possibilities. My husband is a techie and had assembled various surround sound gear along with our 65" flat panel, but needed some professional help to mount the TV above our fireplace and hide all the speaker wires nicely. Can't say enough positive things about my experience. It started with Steve doing a walkthru of the house and taking notes on what I was looking to have completed. A couple of weeks later, Herman and his team came to conduct the install (surround speaker install/setup, and TV mount). They were a bit late, but kept me apprised of their ETA every 45 mins or so, which was more than enough to help me plan the morning and not feel like I wasted any time. When they arrived, they spent time to talk with me about the setup, and actually talked me out of my original speaker setup (which was an old school approach to the configuration). Then they proceeded to install and mount the speakers and TV. While my house was pre-wired for surround speakers, it was a challenge to find the wires, mount the speakers, and seal up the holes in a clean manner. But they pulled it off, and paid very close attention to detail. They even went above and beyond by fixing one of my speakers, where the internal wiring had come loose. If not for that, I'd have had to go buy a new surround speaker, but about 15 minutes of extra time to fiddle with the speaker did the trick! Once the physical install and wiring was done they take the time to configure and calibrate the setup through the A/V receiver. Very helpful if you haven't done that before yourself. And boy were they right about the speaker configuration. I was using the same Polk Audio surround set from 15 years ago, and they sounded like I had a completely different sound system installed from what I was used to at my old house. On that note, if you've ever tried doing this home theater stuff yourself (and I did about 10 years ago), then you know how laborious it can be, and how many curveballs might come with it. These guys are professional curveball hitters, and I couldn't be happier with the work they did. I'd give them six stars if possible! read more

A few weeks ago, I moved into a new apartment in Sacramento. Unfortunately, when Comcast came to install my cable and internet service, I was told that they will only authorize one cable modem per apartment. As a result, if I wanted to be able to hook my living room devices directly up to the internet instead of using a wireless connection (i.e. for faster movie streaming and gaming speed), I would either have to run an ethernet cord hundreds of feet from the living room to the modem in one of the apartment bedrooms or I would have to hire a company to install a wall plate with both coaxial and ethernet ports behind the television. Also unfortunately, the company to which my Comcast installer referred me no longer services apartments. After a bit of looking on Yelp, I eventually discovered Home Technology Pros. I called late on a Wednesday and spoke to Gavin about the services I needed. He accurately described what would be required, the approximate time that would be required, and the cost. He then gave my contact information to the installer that would be performing the services, Eugene, so that we could schedule an appointment that worked for both of our schedules. Eugene called me back first thing on Thursday morning and informed me that he could perform the installation the next day, on Friday. In order to accommodate my work schedule, he also agreed to come out at the very end of his work day and stay late to perform the installation. Eugene arrived on time and performed the rewiring and installation quickly, professionally, and knowledgeably. Upon completing the installation, he made sure to test everything to ensure that it worked and checked with me to ensure that I was satisfied before he left. He also offered advice and suggestions for the wiring and installation of future work that I was contemplating. Overall, my experience with Home Technology Pros (and Eugene) was excellent and I would definitely use them again in the future. read more

For the sake of ease and not having to reword my assessment, I'm posting a letter I wrote to Gavin, the owner. Honestly, I think that you're full of crap with your so-called excuses. Sorry, but it's true. You know, for the sake of "full disclosure." I'm not surprised you've lost an installer, if that's even true. But if it is true, I wouldn't blame him leaving your And after ALLLLLL the patience I've had with your absolutely terrible install, this is absolutely unprofessional and poor business practices and a slap in the face. Don't take my kindness for weakness. Having your installers having to come back several, several times, ruining plans that I've made. Going without TV more times than I can count, then having your installers come back countless times. To have to return time and time again, was BEYOND an inconvenience for me. Having to change plans to accommodate your schedule, when I should be made a priority, which I was not. Maybe if you had done your job right the first time, we would've NEVER had these issues to begin with. What was your solution??And your solution for ALLLLLLL of the issues?? A free uninstall, which took one hour!! I guess that's how much your customers mean to you. Nothing. What a joke. After having to put up with all of the errors, inconvenience, and wasted time spent time and time and time again and STILL not getting the job done to where everything worked correctly. And you're the owner?? Oh, and please let me not forget that your installers, Herman in particular, spoke negatively (nicest way to explain this, but you get the jist) about people whose homes they've worked on. This, coming from an installer who also USED to work for you. But, no worries, right after calling your company, I shook my head and recalled ALL of the inconveniences, lack of professionalism, and so many inconveniences, I lost count. I knew you wouldn't be the company I would want to install my equipment, as I'm sure I would have as many problems as I had with the previous system you all had installed. Thus, I had already looked into using more professional audio/video installers right after calling your "company.,"  thinking to myself why I would EVEN consider the idea of using your services. This time around, I would like professional installation and installers with more knowledgeable and professionalism than your installers who did a terrible job and aren't trying to sell me unnecessary or sub par equipment.  Your so-called company, which includes you, are a disgrace to this industry. Our internet was sluggish, and our wiring was a true rats nest. Marc and his team came in and solved all of our problems. We now have a screaming network, motorized windows, and can navigate all the complex devices in the entertainment system with 1 touch on a mini iPad. I would like to give this company 5 stars for the service of one of its employees. Eugene is the best installer anyone could ask for. This gentleman came to my house first just to confirm what I wanted to install and give his advise on what he thought would sound best. As he seen how excited I was to have a new Home Theater System in my new home he was just as giddy to install it. The install was riggourous as speaker placement made it tough to run the wires, but he just kept on working regardless of how difficult it might have been. After 10 hours sweating in small spaces and not giving up, he ran all speaker wire, diled in the sound and showed me the way to run all the new components and it sounds BETTER THAN I COULD IMAGINE ! Not even running out the door to get home after such a rough install he took even more time to show me.how to work my new remote. I just called to get a simple quote for a TV installation and I've just received the most horrible customer service over the phone. I've had to answer 15 unnecessary questions in order for her to give me the quote and at the end she's telling me this job takes 2 to 3 hours and it will cost you between $190 to $370. this is absolutely ridicules. these guys actually think people are stupid I've had to install this TV 3 times before and it doesn't even take half hour and doesn't cost more than $120.00 for an excellent job. We had a wiring nightmare with wires hanging out of the wall leading to an extension cord. Several coax's leading everywhere and a phone line wraping around our master bedroom. It was a mess. After a major house remodel, my audio/video/gaming had been disconnected for several months. Not only was the setup but a distant memory, a recent injury rendered me unable to get on the floor even if I did remember. Eugene was extremely helpful in not only reconnecting stereo receiver/Blu Ray/CD/gaming console/speakers/sub, he "upgraded" the way they were connected. Much simpler with fewer large cables. HTH is amazing! I am so pleased with how smooth the process was working with them. We hired them to hide wires for our tv (that is over fireplace) over to our built in bookcase. In additional we had some cable issues of lines that needed to be reran and installed. It was too tricky of a job for us to figure out and wanted to make sure it was done right. I wanted to have my TVs mounted professionally, since I moved to a brand new house, and I didn't want to cause any damage to the walls. I did my research and chose Home Tech Pros. The problem with my request was that we had a house-warming party the next evening and I wanted to have the TVs installed the next morning. I requested for a quote, and Gavin replied back late night (Can't thank him enough) and was really helpful. He arranged for help within a few hours, and sent Jonathan for the install. Gavin communicated throughout. Jonathan arrived in time and was extremely professional. He did everything right. He installed 2 large TVs within an hour or so. I was overall extremely satisfied. Few days later one of the TV had some connectivity issue, and we had to swap the TV. I contacted Gavin again, and he was kind enough to help me out with re-mounting one of the TVs, and sent another field tech.
