After reading the reviews of good work and pricing I decided to try the business out. Let me tell you they do crappy hemming and the quality is terrible. I brought several items dresses and blouses to be hemmed and asked if they do a professional hem that doesn't show through the fabric. To my surprise the person behind the counter cut the excessive fabric off, and it looked awfully. The fabric had threads sticking out from were the fabric was cut, hemmed very uneventfully that part of the hem wasn't hemmed. I went to school to learn the art of doing invisible hemming and newer cut fabric without tucking inside the hem. From this experience I now have two dresses with hem that show through the fabric and the length of the dresses were not measured correctly. I called and was told to bring back the dresses and they will do them over. I told the person there wasn't enough fabric to correctly fix the hems and I am out of the money of the seamstress and buying the dresses. I have started bring my clothes in for alterations a few months ago. They do and excellent job for the price. Professional all the way. They have great hours. I Never take to a dry cleaners any more hoping the seamstress will be in. They do an excellent job for leather alterations!! I am short and brought in two high-end designer leather skirts. One was asymmetrical and the other had pleats. Amazing job and reasonably priced. A few weeks later brought in a pair of leather pants. Again, excellent job! wow... where do i begin? my wedding would not be the same if it weren't for Julianna. My mother, bless her heart, offered to "help me with my wedding dress" and seeing as both of my parents are very retired, this was an incredible offer for her to do. But what my mom apparently meant by "help me with my dress" was in reality, to buy it for me. A box arrived on my doorstep with a beautiful dress, about 4-6 sizes too big for me in all areas. I could never tell my mom she made a mistake, and certainly couldn't wear the dress she bought for me. So desperately, I ran all around los angeles county. I went to 9 dress shops and got turned away at every single one because my dress was SO intricate and involved with beading and lace, that the dress shops told me they would basically have to "re-make" my dress and that it was too much work. Finally, I got a referral from a girl friend of mine who's wedding dress the year before looked amazing- to go see Julianna. She was 2 1/2 hours away but absolutely worth the drive. Granted, alterations took about 2 months, but she didn't turn me away. And when I finally got to try on the finished product, I was amazed it was even the same dress. This place is amazing!! I took my dress to get altered about a month ago and when I went in to try it on it fit like a glove!! Everyone there is so nice and respectful and willing to work with you and your schedule! I would advise to call before hand because it does get busy and there seems to be only one or 2 people helping to get fittings done, but they are great and worth the wait! My old review "Thedesign of the place looks fancy and very spacious, that's the first impression I had when I walked in. I have had three evening dressed altered here. I payed $10 dollars for the first dress to have part of the inner material of the dress removed. I payed $45 dollars for the second dress which was a three piece dress a bit sophisticated that I bought as a size 10 (the dress was on clearance and I loved it) and we altered it to a size 2! The dress looked absolutely perfect. They really did an amazing job! The last dress I brought in, I needed to make it a little shorter! They charged me $30! I normally love this place and would highly recommend it, however if the article of clothing is not altered correctly they are so rude to you! I never lost my temper or was rude, I know things happen and like I said, I normally would highly recommend them because I've been going to them since high school which was when they were near albertsons....anyways, I got my dress and the stitching was falling out and it didn't fit like it did when the pins were in. I took it back to show them and and could not believe the attitude. When I was showing her how the back of the dress went up and it didn't before she said "that's the dress too bad". Then she commented that since the stitching fell out it would correct it so I said "so it's the stitching is why it's up like this" and then she started going off on me as how if it was her sewing it would be taken in the back too and I told her that she was the one who pinned me and then she continued to just talk and yell at me and wouldn't let me speak at all. I tried to apologize and said I was sorry if she took something I said wrong I knew things happen and I just wanted it fixed because I leave for the wedding tomorrow morning and she interrupted me and wouldn't stop talking about how horrible of a person i was until I had to just walk away. It was the most embarrassing display I had ever seen from a business. They can be that way though because everyone goes there. I am so upset because I will never go here again because of her disgusting attitude towards customers if things go wrong. I wish I could give zero stars, but I can't. My mom took my daughter in with a flower girl dress and told them that I would be in with my dress later that afternoon and I would be paying for both of them. I went in with my dress, told the lady about my daughters dress and she said okay we will get it done. So I paid the total I was given. Now when I went to pick up the dresses I was told that my daughters dress wasn't paid for so it hadn't been done. I explained to the lady the situation and let her know someone on her end made a mistake. She said that the lady that took my order worked there for 20 years. Apparently working there for 20 years makes it impossible to make a mistake. At the end of it all I still paid full price for their mistake and now I have to make another trip back there to pick up my daughters dress. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. Poor customer service. I brought in two white coats for alteration on a Friday, my coats were taken by the clerk and she then told me I would receive a call the next day with a price for the alteration. Saturday came and went without a call, I called on Monday because they were closed on Sunday and asked about the call I never received on Saturday and was told by the person in charge "well I'm here on Monday". She then told me any work done is pre pay only, I was at work and didn't have a credit card on me. So I called back the next day and the employee on the line told me she cannot take credit card information over the phone only the person in charge can, to the employees credit she called the person in charge who relayed to her she would not be in the store today or the next and that I needed to come into the store to pre pay in order to have any work on my coats done. All in all very dissatisfied with the poor communication and lack of customer service for something so simple. I live close to this location but will not be back because of this, nor will I recommend them to others. read more

This business needs to hire more employees as they get a lot of business but help people first come first serve. I had already paid for my stuff, just needed to pick it up and it took a good amount of time for them to pay attention to me. I saw the dress hanging behind the counter and could have literally walked back and grabbed it myself bc she didnt even look at my receipt. However as all places we do ask to allow time and that is never more then 5-10 min wait ( unlike waiting 20 min for coffee or grocerie stores ) It is a prom and wedding season so that means lots of suits and dresses needed to be done in a short amount of time . As some people waited in line patiently while we measure your prom dress , returning the favor at the time to pick up your prom dress it's really a must . Waiting few minutes till a hem was measure for a prom dress as one of the girl that measure told you that she will be right with you as soon as she is done with the dress even though you walked in front of 3 other people that was in front of you ( as they comment after you left ... )it could have been nice . All order are prepaid and yes you have to wait for a clerk to pickup your order so can be removed from the computer ... That's how we keep track of all the garments. We don't need a recipes but we require a phone number and the girls are doing their job correctly and trying hard to accommodate everyone in a little to no waiting time . Your patience and your business are truly appreciated . First of all. It wasnt a prom dress. Second, this lady replied well over 1 month after i picked up my dress so how do you remember who i am and who was in back of me & what comments were made? When i went to get my dress measured nobody was in back of me, lol. when i went to get my dress there was only a set of girls waiting to get their bridesmaid dresses fitted so dont even. I honestly don't write a lot of reviews unless I really really appreciate someone. Juliana is amazing...she's very patient, take pride in what she does and honest (not just in it for the money at all). I brought 2 wedding dresses in to get them tailored because they were way too big! My ceremony dress has lace from top to bottom and needed major tailoring. I have a typical Asian body...small frame, not too tall and a 32A. At the end, my dress fit me perfectly, showed off my curves and she did magic and gave me cleavage! First, let me say that I signed up with yelp just to give Julianna a review--that's how amazing she is. Please don't listen to the other poor reviews, they're just being bridezillas or divas. I recently made my bridal appointment with Julianna and she was wonderful, friendly, helpful, professional and completely even tempered with my friends, who were pulling all kinds of dresses off the racks. The dresses are beautiful, great selection (albeit small) and very reasonably priced. She quoted me fair prices on alterations and really did try to work within my budget. She totally made me feel like family. I haven't decided on a dress yet, but I would definitively make an appointment with Julianna again! I wish I could take her with me to all my bridal appointments, she's so knowledgeable about her work. The dress shop is super clean too, which is also important! I have used the alterations services of Make It Fit for several years and I've always been satisfied with the quality of the work. However, the last time I had a dress hemmed, it was not hemmed to the requested length. When I returned to the store with the dress to ask them to correct the length I was treated very rudely. The alterations lady looked at the hem and said, "This is not our work. I would never put a hem in like that." I was appalled that she was insinuating that I was lying. I told her that I would be happy to produce my receipt for proof and she grabbed the dress from me, said they would re-do it "this one time". When I returned a few days later, the dress was hemmed correctly but after that type of rude treatment, I will never return to Make It Fit for alterations. read more

Absolutely terrible! Went in about a year ago to get a dress fixed. The woman in charge said she didn't want to fix the top and did a terrible job on the hem. Now we are in need of the dress again and need to get the dress re-hemmed and the top redone. So we went back to Make It Fit, paid for the alterations, came into the store to pick it up on time and the dress wasn't done. We then got lectured about how we "had a year to have it redone," but we didn't need the dress again until now. She refused to fix the top of the dress and refused to give us our money back. She claimed it was because the dress was already hemmed, but when we asked for the dress back, the woman working the front brought it back with no hem done. We will never return to this store because of the incompetence of the workers and because of the fact that another alterations center said it was an easy fix, they are just lazy. Do not go to Make It Fit if you want reasonable service and people who want to actually do a good job on your clothing. read more

Love this place! I highly recommend. They saved me at the last minute when my bridesmaid dress needed to be corrected after David's Bridal horsed up the alterations! And it was David's Bridal's dress in the first place! Not only did they do an ASAP save, they were very generous with the cost - half the price of David's Bridal! I went to the new location in Brea to have some of my daughters pants hemmed. It was pricey since I got the pants cheap at Forever 21 but it needed to be done quickly. When I went to pick them up, I had to insist she try them on and when I questioned the length, she told me I didn't know and not to worry about it because it was only a $12 hem. She said they knew better and it was fine. It turned out to be fine but I didn't like her attitude about my looking at it and checking it. Also I told her that a customer for $50 or $500 was still a customer and wants it done right. She just made a gaffing sound and walked away. Good workmanship, rude service. read more
