I came to Miss Coco's Alterations to alter my bridesmaid dress that I got off Azazie. I went in wanting just a hem, but after consulting with Coco, she suggested tightening up the shoulder seam so that the bust of my dress didn't sag as much. I had read the reviews before going to her, so I was aware of Coco delivering a day late on alterations. I went in on June 18th to get my dress altered, and Coco told me to come in on July 2nd to pick up my dress. On July 2nd, I actually called her beforehand to confirm that my dress would be ready. She asked me for my dress color and then said to come by any time before 5pm. My dress was not ready. I drove over, and Coco told me that she was still working on my dress. She also mentioned that the person who usually steams all the finished pieces had already left for the day, so she needed an additional day. I was fine with her needing extra time, but I wish she had said that over the phone before I made the drive. I thought that was inconsiderate, especially since I had already been proactive about calling beforehand to confirm that the dress could be picked up. Nonetheless, the alterations turned out nicely. The hem of the dress worked beautifully with the heels I chose, and the tightened shoulder seams made the dress fit much nicer. I felt so confident wearing this dress at my friend's wedding. The hem and shoulder seam adjustments totaled $80. I don't have a frame of reference for the average cost of alterations for formal attire, so I can't tell if it was reasonable. I would definitely recommend getting your clothes in earlier rather than later to accommodate for any potential delays. read more

I recently stopped by another local tailor who had previously done some hemming for me. I brought in a dress I had purchased specifically for my bachelorette that was too small and needed fabric added in order for it to fit properly. To make things even more stressful, I was leaving the following week for my bachelorette, so I was working with a very tight timeline. Because of the intricate detailing on the back of the dress, I was immediately told that the alteration was "impossible." I knew it wasn't impossible--it simply required someone with the right level of skill and experience. I had previously spoken with another seamstress who confirmed that the dress could be altered by either adding fabric or potentially converting the back into a corset. Unfortunately, because I was leaving the following week, I didn't have enough time to take it to her. That's when I did a quick Google search and came across Miss Coco's alteration business, and I am so glad I did! I stopped by after work and showed Miss Coco the dress. After looking it over, she explained that the best solution would be to add fabric to the sides. She told me I would need to return on another day for a fitting, and she was fully aware that I was leaving the following week for my bachelorette. When I came back for my fitting, I was completely surprised to discover that she had already added the fabric--and the dress zipped up perfectly! She only needed to make a few finishing touches, and even more impressively, she was going to have the dress finished several days earlier than the original timeframe she had given me. She took on an alteration that another tailor told me was impossible, all while knowing I was on a tight deadline, and made it look effortless. I had my wedding dress altered here. Customer service was so terrible. The whole time it felt like what I wanted and what I visioned for the dress was not important at all. I felt dismissed and rushed. Miss Coco kept pushing for what she thought for my wedding dress. For example, she wanted my dress to be cut way shorter than what I wanted. I had to keep telling her that I wanted longer than that. Also, with the cut out part of the dress I wanted to make that into sleeves for an open shoulder look, but she kept recommending me to use another material. I think this place might fit for you if you are looking to have your wedding dress look traditional. Besides this, I had questions with payment and asked her how much it would be. Miss Coco did a FANTASTIC and clean job with hemming some new Popflex flared bottom yoga pants I got from a sample sale in LA that same weekend. At a sample sale we wouldn't know what available inseam sizes they'd have in stock so I just got my favorite color purple ones that were available. I'm 5'2" and the inseam lengths were so long so I needed these hemmed. This brand of leggings are very expensive and I usually hem and alter my own stuff as I sew my own cosplay costumes. I don't own a coverstitch machine and I wanted this done professionally and nicely, and Miss Coco did this SO NICELY!! She'd definitely do hems way better than I could with my sewing machine/serger! If I ever need any alterations done and I'd rather have someone I can trust to do it with access to better tools than I have, Miss Coco is now my go-to and she is highly recommended!! I dropped off my dress on March 22nd and was promised it would be ready by April 5th. I planned accordingly and made the trip to pick it up on the 8th--only to find out it still wasn't ready. I don't live close by, so this wasted both my time and gas. When I asked if there would be any discount for the inconvenience, I was met with a rude look and a blunt "no," which she later backpedaled into a vague "we'll see when you come pick it up." This review is way overdue, but I did not forget you Miss Coco! She is amazing to say the least. Miss Coco worked on 2 of the dresses I wore for my wedding. My ceremony dress didn't need much work, just a couple of adjustments. Which other seamstresses were trying to charge me an arm and a leg for. Miss Coco had quoted me a realistic and reasonable price, which is why I decided to go to her. My reception dress was the dress I thought was unsalvageable. I had bought that dress with the intention of losing a couple pounds ( haha silly me! ). Long story short we were a month away and it was just not going to happen! Miss Coco worked her magic, with her many years of experience and great knowledge in design she miraculously made the dress fit me. On the picture, the dress looks a little tight on me, but that's on me for not loosing those extra pounds. My point is, she made it work when I was already trying to convince myself to be okay that I would not be able to wear that dress at all! To top it all off she added a little flare to it, which I loved! My husband also got all of his alterations for his wedding suit here.
