First off, Amy's does great quality work. That's not the issue. Nor is it the speed of work completion. She's prompt. It's availability. They are only open weekdays from 9-5. And often those hours change without notice. I work during the day, and it's difficult for me to find time during the daytime to drop off or pick up items. So I went out of my way several times to drop of some new items to be tailored only to find that she wasn't there or the store was closed during posted hours. Eventually I gave up and found a new tailor who is more accommodating for customers like me. Plus her prices are not the cheapest. I found far better pricing at my new tailor. read more

Fantastic service. We had my husband's pants altered for a trip we're going on. They only took a week, and came out perfect. She measured BOTH legs (VERY professional when you're older and you have some leg length issues). We recommend them to everyone. I've been coming to Amy for a year now. At first I chose her because her establishment was walking distance from my work however, I know I made the right choice because she is truly a hidden gem. I can bring in any garment and with Amy's magic touch she transforms drab to fab. I've been able to save so much money by taking in old clothes hiding in the back of my closet. Amy can tailor just about any garment to fit your body like a glove. first of all, I brought my wedding dress to this woman, and I should've went on my first intuition of the feeling I got from being there she was not very welcoming nor was she happy to hear about my upcoming ups. She didn't say two words to me all three times I had to come back for different alterations on my dress. Come to find out, after all was said and done not only did she ruin my dress, but she also bled her blood on the inside of my dress from when she was hemming the bottom and poked herself and let the blood drip all over my dress. This woman is disgusting as well as this company , I had to take my dress to David's bridals where they informed me of everything that she had done wrong with my dress when asking her to at least pay me back for the alterations, she looked at me and told me no she did not apologize for anything and almost crushed me with the one dress that I picked out for my wedding my dream dress I will be getting married in July and after that she will be going to court without a doubt and guess what I have her DNA in my dress remember because she never took the time to clean it out. She is very sweet and did a wonderful job. Took in my bridesmaid dress for a hem - $35 due to the length and asked her to add a long slit on the side - $15 per garment (outer + lining). This was my first time getting alterations so I was a little shocked at the pricing. But nonetheless she did a great job. read more

Amy is the place to go for any tailoring needs. When my daughter was in NCL, she had to wear a wedding dress for presentation. The dress was altered to fit her. I later found that several girls after her wore the dress, and Amy did the alterations every time. She does beautiful work. She also hems and takes in anything I need done. read more

Inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. *Took my bridesmaid dress in to be altered and was excited about the low cost. *Lady was very nice and assured me that the light color of the dress would not be stained. *Picked it up (was done in a great amount of time), but it was NOT PRESSED and LOOKED SLOPPY on my body. *It did fit me, so that was great, but my $200 dress now hangs awkwardly. *She did press it for me, but when I pointed out the BLACK SPOT on the choral dress, she REFUSED to discount me because it wasn't her "fault." *Even though the dress was brand new and neither her nor I saw it when we fitted it to my body, and even though the spot is directly on the side where it was altered, she swore it wasn't hers. *That is incredibly BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. *I was excited to find a place right next to where I live that is reasonably priced, and my boyfriend was also looking forward to taking his suites to her, but I will NEVER RETURN to her again. *Customer Service goes a long way, especially when it comes to clothes you cannot return. *Hopefully you will have a much better experience, but from the looks of the mess in her tiny business, it really isn't too shocking that my brand new bridesmaid dress was not pressed, still hangs sloppy, and is now stained from a careless error. *I doubt she will care, though, as she told me she has enough business. read more

Went in to get my jeans hemmed and the tailor Alice, did a fantastic job. She literally changed the way my clothes fit me and it now looks so sharp on me. I was hesitant at first coming here because of some 1 star reviews, but they were actually for the previous owner. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. My daughter's prom dress was too loose. When we took it in, I thought it was weird that the seamstress didn't even measure anything -- just kind of eyeballed it and marked it with a few pins. But I foolishly assumed she knew what she was doing. Instead, she chopped out so much that my daughter (who is tiny), was bursting out of the top. The seamstress refused to take responsibility and insisted the dress was supposed to fit that way. My daughter could barely breathe in it! We ended up spending another hundred bucks at a different tailor, who grafted fabric from another part of the dress into the back. In the end, my daughter was able to wear the dress (I don't even want to think how much it cost by then), but it will never look as good as it did coming off the rack. Do not go to Amy's Tailoring! It used to be the best tailoring shop around, but the original owner (Amy) sold the business. Wish I'd known that before. read more

In the last ~8 years, she has altered almost all my clothes, including taking an entire size 22 wardrobe of suits and dresses down to a size 16. She did a wonderful job. I have visited this location 4 times in the past three weeks, as late as today. Each visit was DURING OPEN BUSINESS HOURS. Each time i visited, the business was closed, wasting my time. Only once was there a handwritten note on the window "closing early". The score reflects poor business practice, and lack of respect for others time. I cannot comment on their ability to tailor, as they have not been open. I will find someone else. read more
