Lovely delicious pastries , it's like being in Paris again. It's worth the waiting in line.

I've got nothing meaningful to add to the conversation that hasn't been said already, but my daughter and I just plowed through enough baguettes and pastries to take down a medium sized moose and am seriously considering jumping back in line. The line out front isn't there by accident. This place is magnifique. read more

If you've never been to France, this is your chance to taste rom a bakery that values quality as a way of life. Every item is a great selection and it's all made with care read more

Had the curried chicken and egg salad on a baguette. The bread was excellent. The chicken was tasteless. My suggestion is to forget about the chicken and leave the egg salad. You need more meatless selections anyway and the egg salad and mixed greens on the baguette would have been delicious. read more

This bakery is simply the best. Fresh, delicious, delicate pastries that are never too sweet, and fill your mouth with the desired flavor you hoped for when looking through the pastry glass. Not only is there a variety of pastries, but as well as mouthwatering sandwiches. They hit every benchmark on the savory scale! Aside from the wonderful selection of goods, the service is always very friendly, relaxed, and efficient, which is appreciated in a world full of bakeries that have workers with unhappy attitudes! The bakery also offers many comfortable seating options, indoor and outdoor, and a very pleasant atmosphere to enjoy a cup of coffee and freshly baked croissant! The owner, Benoit, is very kind, and always makes sure to say hello to you if you know him! We got to meet him when we needed catering for an event a few months ago (which I might add was absolutely wonderful and everyone enjoyed the catered pastries!). Overall, just a fabulous place, fabulous food, fabulous people, and fabulous ambiance! read more

My serendipitous introduction to Maison Benoit was via DoorDash. I was delighted to discover this new French cuisine gem. Predominantly a bakery that offers world class pastries, it also serves a variety of small plates and sandwiches. I ordered: 1) the French Country Fruit Bread, which boasted a delectable array of dried fruit that included raisins, figs, and apricots; 2) a divine and sublime slice of Lemon Mint Cake; 3) the hearty, flavorful Beef Barley Soup accompanied by a mini baguette and; 4) the best Hot Chocolate I've ever had in my life! Although pricey, every bite was worth it. I plan to indulge here on a regular basis and am most grateful to have DoorDash access as Danville is too far away. read more

Magnifique! We just returned from a holiday vacation in Paris and were desperately missing Parisian croissants. Et voila- Maison Benoit opens in our local area! We were excited to brave the lines and try this new place, and we were excited to hear that the place is opened by native French chefs. The croissants are delicious- the texture, lamination, proofing and technique are spot on. The outside is flaky and crispy, with shattery edges. The inside is light and well layered. These are the best croissants we've ever tried in this local area. The Parisian sandwiches with house made baguettes are also amazing- very reminiscent of the Jambon Buerre that you can find everywhere in Paris. The pastries and eclairs are transcendent too. Beautiful flavors and textures. Ooh La La- this bakery is such a rare gem in this neighborhood, and fills a niche that we have been missing- that authentic French bakery. read more

My family loves this place. Always a line out the door. Absolute best French pastries besides France :)

A Parisian Escape in the Heart of Danville This place isn't just a place to grab a pastry- it's a full-on French immersion experience The pastries and croissants are the real deal. Light, flaky, and bursting with flavor. My Personal Favorite: The Bayonne Sandwich. a crusty airy mini baguette with the most delicate Bayonne ham. Lunchtime perfection! The atmosphere transported me to a charming French cafe, the plush velvet sofas, the gorgeous light fixtures, the framed art and the latest French fashion magazines make Maison Benoit more than a bakery - it's an escape. read more

The holiday bouche raspberry dessert was not worth it for $99!! Totally disappointed for a Christmas dessert. It was an embarrassment!

Best French bakery this side of Europe. Took a few weeks and a rain storm for the long lines of people waiting outside to die down. Most things were bought out, but was able to purchase some pan au chocolat, regular croissants, some fruit tarts and baguettes. Both types of croissants were fresh, flaky and buttery. Taste like good true real French baked goods. The baguettes were fresh out of the oven; crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fruit tarts were fresh, but the base of the tart was a little bland tasting. The custard filling was good. Looking forward to trying other offerings in the future. Definitely on the repeat list. read more

I have never been to Europe, but I can imagine that the pastries found here are comparable to those in Paris. Incredibly delicious. I've never had four croissants in one day before, but this is what I have eaten and I don't regret it. I don't know what good karma I've got that I got this place walking distance from my house. So delicious. Go here. Wait in the line (which moves rapidly). read more

Came here Friday morning and the line was long due to the slow service. Between the three families we spent ~$200 on an assortment from the menu (sandwiches, quiche, toast, baked goods, coffees and juices). As the heated dishes trickled its way to the table we had to ask for an update on missing plates and drinks. At one point we went inside to ask about a quiche that was accidentally given to another patron so was asked to wait a few more minutes as they heated the order. We waited over 15mins for the coffee and some more for 1 of 2 juices to come out. When we inquired about the second cup we were told we didn't order another one and that if we wanted another cup they'd be happy to walk us in with our credit card to charge us for another. We selected no receipt so didn't have an itemized receipt on our end so asked for them to check the history and the staff member said they did and we were only charged for one and again she could take us inside to charge for one. We assured her it was already charged and to take another look. About ten minutes later she came out with our juice and said when they checked it was their mistake and that we had ordered two. Horrible customer service overall. Sharing one receipt of three from our morning there. Baked goods are good, but they really need some help with their efficiency and customer service. read more

Worth the wait for these delicious breads and pastries. They are European style, not American so they are not as sweet, but the croissants melt in your mouth. The canele' are crisp on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The baguettes beg for some triple cream Brie or Normandie butter. Am looking forward to trying the sandwiches and the croque monsieur. For this transplanted French-Canadian, this restaurant is a true gift. read more

Very good chocolate croissant! I live in SF so I'm used to Arsecault so my expectations were very high but they were very good. My only critique is they need to box up the croissants instead of bagging them. The top layers of the croissants were at the bottom of the bag which should not happen but overall, a great addition! read more

Buttery, flaky croissant!! Even the chocolate baguette taste buttery too! A bit pricey so can only indulge once in a while.

What a great experience! Brought me back to the South of France. . We shall return with friends.

Honestly the best pastries I have had in the state of California. Or ever. I used to be partial to Bouchon Bakery in Yountville, but the pastry chef here blows them clear out of the water. I got the country loaf; chocolate baguette; original baguette; quiche Lorraine; Pain Au Chocolates; almond croissant; chocolate almond croissant; and an almond milk mocha latte. Literally all heaven on earth. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The inside has plenty of tables for eating in, and plenty of tables on the patio. The line gets a little crazy but moves quickly due to the staff's high level of efficiency and hard work. The only suggestion I have is to possibly have another staff member making coffee in the morning rush hour and to place straws next to the coffee pickup area. I will definitely be back. read more

My husband surprised us with a variety of goodies in the morning. He lined up while we were sleeping. Yummmmmy! Worth the wait? Yes. I would go back to eat there myself and feel the ambiance. My husband said that the showcases were a little empty in the early morning, so some of the savories were not out yet. The baguette was really good. I finished half of it myself! read more

I need to update my review of Maison Benoit's croissants since visiting them again the weekend of Father's Day. On that Saturday, the croissants were perfect and why I had voted them for best croissant in the Bay. The baking team that day nailed it with the right density and chewiness and flakiness of the croissant. This style is what we've been searching for since visiting Paris. Their croissants are also the most beautiful looking ones you'll come across. Lightly heating them up in the toaster oven even the next day makes them even more delicious. If you're lucky enough to get an almond croissant here before they run out, you won't be disappointed. Maison Benoit's almond croissant is our favorite out of all of the ones in the Bay, with the right texture and not-too-sweet paste. I still recommend trying everything at least once to find what your favorites will be. Even their Chicken Caesar Salad was delicious. Bon Appetit! read more

Good food. I love their mille and banoffee. But they have poor customer service. Employees hired should be trained well how to serve customers and actually know what they are doing. One employee served my drink she accidentally spilled on me and which stained my socks and pants. and PLACED ON THE FLOOR OUTSIDE where dogs do their thing ofc AND STILL SERVED THE SAME DRINK ON MY TABLE with the glass still dripping and messy. :)) hope this helps! read more

We just had a delicious meal at Maison Benoit. The atmosphere was lovely - very Parisienne - and everything was very fresh and tasty. I had the Salmon Tartine and it was sooo good. The cucumbers were perfectly salted, the salmon was delish and the dill and lemon zest were a nice touch. Of course, I had to finish it all off with a chocolate croissant and a cappuccino and a warm baguette fresh from the oven for home - yum! Highly recommend! read more

Maison Benoit - Salmon Tartine (didn't think to get a pic until it was half-gone!) - Patisserie/Cake Shop Near Me - Danville, California

Best hot flaky croissant. Ambiance is casual & relaxing. Service is also good. Overall very good experience.

The location of this bakery is perfect in Downtown Danville, and I think it's a great addition. I think the owners should rethink their ordering system because it's too complicated for the staff. The team was really confused as to who ordered what when it came time to checkout...especially if someone ordered a toasted sandwich since they don't have a way of keeping track of who the food belongs to. I have some mixed feelings on the food. I enjoy the Pain au chocolat $4.50 & Éclair Café $7.50, but the Croque Monsieur $12 and Smoked Salmon Tartine $18 are...just eh, not the best. I haven't ordered any of their drinks, but their espresso equipment is top-notch & roaster is good, so if they're trained right, I'm hoping it'll be great. If you want a decent, local pastry then I think this place is great for that! If you are looking for some INCREDIBLE and BETTER PRICED European-style sandwiches, tartines and pastries, I'd recommend Bouchon Bakery in Yountville and Tartine in San Francisco. read more

We visited this place a couple weeks ago, came around 11am and the choices were scarce: they were out of half of the menu items at least. The pastries were great so that's the only reason for 4 stars, because, besides limited menu, the line was long. Second time we didn't even go in because the line was even longer. For me, personally, it wasn't worth the wait. The prices are pretty high even for Danville (medium size round bread $15?!). Most likely won't visit again since I don't expect the lines getting shorter or them not running out of most of the menu items by 11am. Wishing them the best, though. read more

Danville's hidden gem of French culinary delight - Maison Benoit. From the moment you step inside you will smell the aroma of freshly baked quiches and breads. Let's start with the quiche - it's simply unparalleled. I've tried quiche all over the bay area and their quality and flavor is the perfect balance of creamy custard, flavorful fillings, and a buttery, flaky crust that melts in your mouth. And oh, the baguette! It's more than just good; it's extraordinary! Baked to perfection, with a crispy crust and a soft, airy interior, their bread transports you to the bakeries of France with every bite. The charming inside has nice ambiance, attentive service, and clearly a dedication to quality which makes each time I go a memorable goody experience. Best breakfast in Danville and stands out as a true taste of France in the Bay Area. read more

Delicious and large variety of French pastries. Efficient staff. Lovely seating area. Nice ambience.

Arrived around 10am and there was a line out the door and around the corner. Really fresh, authentic Boulangerie. We could watch them making pastries in the window while we stood in line. Pastries were delicious and so many to choose from. Can't wait to return! read more

Madison Benoit is charming French bakery on Railroad Ave. There is street parking, but no dedicated lot. You will see a menu podium to the left as you approach the entrance. Upon entering you'll find will find the place has a nice flow. The bakery operations are to the left with the display cases in front of you. There is some merchandise being sold to the left. The ordering process is broken up by case. You are greeted at the first case and order your breads, croissants, etc. Then you move to the next case where you order pastries, toasts, and sandwiches this followed by any drinks. You should try their award winning croissant. Having visited France, its buttery layers bring back fond memories. We have also enjoyed their cinnamon brioche, and Mirror Chocolat (a chocolate lovers must try). Their Baguette Viennoise is a true sweet treat. There are two items that I hope were just one offs. A Suisse croissant which was over baked, sans pastry cream and tasted more like a large chocolate croissant. Also their Mille Feuille, where unfortunately the pastry cream flavor was too subtle. The staff is attentive especially when busy. I would highly recommend a visit. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. So order a treat, a warm drink and lose yourself for a while. read more

Pastries: 5 stars, croissants were phenomenal, eclairs and other breads great as well. Service and packaging: 3.5. Ordered 2 lattes for dine-in and they didn't come out until we almost finished pastries. We got some items for dine-in and take-out. The items for takeout were just thrown into a bag with no paper / plastic wrapping. The loaf of bread, not covered in anything, which pretty much dries out the loaf of bread after sitting for a day. I'm sympathetic to the cost of packaging but if you want to have high quality products like this, seems a shame for this presentation and lack of care. read more

Don't come here and make the line longer- but seriously best bakery in the east bay not close. Can't go wrong with anything.

the pavlova was superb. would get that again. not too sweet and the pairing of coconut and passion fruit was fantastic. hubby got the paris sandwich which he really liked. docking one star for the croque monsieur which was bland and wasn't able to finish. i would say really 4.5 stars but no option for that here on yelp. very nice place though a bit warm inside and was a little uncomfortable on s hot day. all that said will still come back again and try other things. read more

Amazing bakery- best French baguette since I lived In Paris- nuff said .highly recommend everything there!!!

Thank you for doing a special birthday delivery. Everyone enjoyed the pastries. We will do it again

So glad to have a legit French bakery opened up in the neighborhood! Now, we don't have to drive to Ariscault in SF for the croissants. We went on a random Wednesday at 10am and were shocked to have waited 35 minutes in line even though the line was not that long. The service is pretty slow, though there were a good amount of employees. The croissants exceeded expectations, especially after warming them up the next day. The lattes were good. However, we came back the next day, and the coffee was terrible. We ordered flavored lattes that tasted more like black coffee with a tint of cream. Also, they don't have pastries after 1pm so come early!! Like other reviewers have said, their coffee is not great. We really hope the owners will hire baristas and improve in this area. We will definitely coming back! read more
