Um, excuse me sir. That's my tri-tip breakfast sando... oh forget it.
    Annie N.

"Oh yes we know the muffin man, his name is Janneh!" We are big fans of Muffin Lab in this house. I have a picky husband and an even pickier toddler and I can tell you that both have regular muffin cravings. We get to see Janneh at the San Ramon Farmers' Market and the focaccia muffin is my favorite to have ala carte and they reheat at home beautifully. I occasionally treat myself to the tri-tip sandwich. I rarely get to eat it though because said aforementioned toddler steals enough bites that it basically becomes his. And as it turns out, little kids want to eat *really* delicious food just like we do. The food is great and the family slinging muffins are super nice! I'll end on a this note. Last weekend we came home from the farmers' market with muffins in hand-- Toddler: Daddy, we brought you muffins from the muffin man! Husband: Hooray! I love these muffins. They taste like clouds!

    Mushroom sando

These are the best English muffins I've ever had. Had the tri-tip and the mushroom sando and both were next level. The mushrooms were sourced right at the farmers market. Janneh, keep creating new varieties and see you soon

Got our stash from the Farmer's Market :)

Muffin Lab = A Morning Win These muffins have become the highlight of our mornings. My kids actually run to the kitchen for breakfast now -- no reminders needed! They're super easy for the kids to make on their own too -- just 30 seconds in the microwave and done. Only problem? My son gets pretty annoyed when his sister grabs the last one (which happens more often than he'd like). Safe to say we've learned to stock up. Also, shoutout to Muffin Lab's customer service -- friendly, fast, and just as awesome as the muffins. You can grab them on Saturdays at the San Ramon Farmers Market or order online -- either way, your mornings just got way better.

Definitely a MUST HAVE!! These English muffins are moist and fluffy, and still warm upon delivery. Janneh's customer service is second to none. I love that Muffin Lab is locally owned and operated right here in San Ramon. I look forward to ordering more muffins, and trying out their sandwiches soon. I'll definitely be ordering more for my next event.

Karen, the owner, took the time to walk me through the sampler box of the different wedding cake flavors, even though it started to get busy in the store she was very kind to make it a personal experience. There were 12 different flavors in the sampler ranging from standard red velvet or vanilla cake, to some fancier ones such as poppy seed cake with lemon curd. Our favorite was the vanilla cake with apricot preserve and we will almost certainly be having that as one of our layers. I am very excited to continue working with them as we design our cake and next time I go in I will definitely be grabbing one of th delicious looking cannoli!

I was super overwhelmed handling other wedding details, and every conversation with them made me feel so comfortable. I talked to Karen a week beforehand to confirm all cake details, and she was SO warm and had the best "We got this! Don't even worry" attitude - I can't even describe how relieved she made me feel. They were able to make our whole cake gluten-free due to my own allergy. I have had celiac for almost 20 years, and still can't even bake anything remotely edible after countless attempts. The fact that they made this cake gluten free and we all RAVED about it is 1) a miracle in itself and 2) makes me actively very jealous that I can't try their normal baked goods! I didn't even really eat dinner at my own wedding, but you bet I had two pieces of cake. We are super grateful, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding cake!

We got the buttercream bread, sweet rice donut, chocolate cloud cake, milk cornet, and the strawberry milk bread. For drinks we got the red velvet hot cocoa and the caramel macchiato. The buttercream bread was my absolute favorite out of the bunch. The butter cream wasn't too sweet and the bread was sooo soft. The ratio of cream to bread was just right, so each bite of bread had a sweet balance of the fluffy cream. The sweet rice donut was okay. To be, it could have been more softer, but it was expected for it to go stale a little bit since it's been out lying for a while. Some things are just unavoidable. The chocolate cloud cake was really good, but there was so much cream. Unlike the buttercream bread, there was imbalance here, but I adored the giant strawberries sandwiched between the cream. The consistency of the actual cake was perfect though, because sometimes I know it can get really soggy from the cream. Next time I would give another cake a try instead. The milk cornet was great! Tried it out because it seemed really popular; there was only one left. This pastry like a croissant stuffed with milky cream. The cornet was perfectly crunchy and the milk cream wasn't too sweet. Next time, I want to give the blueberry version a try. The strawberry milk bread impressed me. It was super soft, and I like how there was a really small amount of cream. Like, I understood what the cream was trying to do there. One bite of just bread would be pretty dry, but a little bit of cream can help smooth things out but still keep the spotlight on the bread. The red velvet hot cocoa drink was what surprised me the most. I suppose this drink is Valentines day edition, so it's not always here. I was so surprised when I opened the lid and saw hot pink foam! Like, DANG! Tous les jours really went out of their way to give us a sip of Valentines day! This drink is on the sweeter end, though. A friend said that the caramel macchiato was just okay, nothing surprising or impressive about it. I guess it was a safe order. The baristas were really efficient with our drinks; both drinks took five minutes or less! I love the interior of this bakery. So cute yet so easygoing. Perfect ambiance for catching up with some girlfriends!

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.
