The way I was spoken to made me feel like I was asking for free food instead of being a paying customer. It's really a shame because the café itself is beautiful and the pastries are delicious. I genuinely want to like this place, but when the drinks don't match what's advertised and the service makes you feel unwelcome, it really takes away from the whole experience. Some of the baked goods we ended up getting since we were already there were from the display I guess it seemed like on weekdays they don't tend to bake a large quantity. It makes sense to me, however a little bit disappointed as I figured going to the mothership would yield me a greater variety. But it sounds like if you want variety and freshness it's best to go on a weekend, or go to the farmers market where they're at. Service was quick and friendly. There was one bigger baking in the back, and one cashier. The place was pretty quiet as it was a weekday and no one else was there. But also appeared clean and bright and well air-conditioned on this hot day. I do not recommend going to this location on a weekday. I would be interested to come back on a weekend to see what it's like. Either way Walnut Creek farmers market is a must go if you want to check out their variety.

The next day, same lady was ringing my order and had a glove in one hand but she was touching the gloves with the other hand while touching the computer. Then she takes the hand with the gloves bagging my bread. Lots of cross contamination. Food tongs for customers were not washed and reused! Food trays are not wash. I ended up using the parchment paper to grab the bread. I think the workers need to be train on food safety. It is not safe for workers to be handling cash and transactions using the same glove like this with food.

They were sweet but not too sweet and had a great chewy texture that held up well in their journey from SF to NYC. Overall, the customer service is prompt and the goodies are clearly made with care. I appreciate that shipping is available nationwide and that the delivery cost is incorporated into the menu price so it is easy to mentally calculate my total bill. Glancing at the menu, you can tell that After By Tori is pricier than your average bulk box of cookies at a grocery store, but you get the high quality that you pay for :-) They are open and receptive to feedback on their products and packaging as well. I've also noticed that the Dublin location tends to have a bit more variety in pastries and slightly better service.
