Hi, so I placed an order roughly 30 to 40 minutes ago. I spent $16.02. I got the egg turkey and cheese pastry and the garlic bread plus the cucumber and lime water. Now that you know my order here is my problems. This place is ran by children. I didn't get the second part of my order. This is my first visit and I asked is there anything that could be thrown in? I was given a croissant, but the attitude that I was given when asking the question was some type of displeasure. The place is extremely crowded and very busy. My problems with the food are one the croissant had way too much flake, and it was practically falling apart, which is not a good croissant. It seems like they're making them too quick because there was almost a little to no structure the place in Alamo Brioche de Paris, Has a better croissant. On a non-weighted scale review I would give that item a four out of 10. On my weighted scale It gets a one and a half out of five. Next, both of the savory pastries were eh. The turkey egg and cheese. I give a six out of 10, which would be a three out of five. The pastry was burned. The egg had no texture. It was way too firm and I think them warming it up made it worse. Now the item they forgot was the garlic bread. It was like a bagel as a bun. It was way too over buttered and the cream cheese filling was all right. I give that a five out of 10, which would reciprocate to a 2.5 out of five. The best thing was the fancy cucumber and lime Gatorade/cucumber and lime water. I can't complain about the price of that item but the other two juice beverages I feel were overpriced for a 12 ounce container. A place that serves pastries that average at about 6+ dollars should not have the drink being the best thing and it's probably one of the cheapest things on the menu. I got this food for my fiancée and I. The only thing she was able to eat was the croissant I was given out of guilt because they were under performing. The other two items she spat out. My biggest problem though is the place being ran by kids if 16-year-olds is the excuse then I'm being given cause that is literally what I was told "your item was forgotten because we have a lot of new hires and they're 16." Don't run a sweat shop of kids if they can't perform to put the product out correctly. If there's any way, I would like my money back because I could've spent my $16 somewhere else if this is the service and quality I will receive. read more

Wow what an amazing French bakery! This is my new local favorite. They just opened this year in Jan 2024. Family owned small business. They have a great outdoor cafe seating area right in the heart of downtown Danville. The inside ambiance is just lovely, very Parisian. The croissants are amazing! I will no longer go to the chain bakeries now that we have this lovely local French bakery. So glad we are lucky enough to have this wonderful shop in the East Bay! read more

They have additional things packaged up such as many cookies, etc. and also many types of breads to choose from. it appears that there is seating inside as well as restrooms available to the customers. I was helped by friendly staff at the counter and I ordered a few things to go - an almond croissant, a hazelnut macaron, a chocolate chip, pecan cookie, and an almond chocolate chip like croissant, but dense more like a cookie - This was my favorite! The actual cookie itself was good but a tad too sweet - my husband loved it though! Almond croissant was buttery and flaky. The macaroon was tasty, but I wasn't expecting actual crunch of hazelnuts - different not terrible. Will definitely return when we visit again for more tasty treats! read more

I am so sad to leave this review. The customer service has gotten progressively worse. The hot drinks vary greatly based on who is making them, which shouldn't be the case. If there is a standard everyone should be held to it a few times my drink was made after many other people who ordered after me, I don't understand how that happens. But, the cherry on top for this review was this.... yesterday I ordered over $100 of things to go. The girl who rang me up, poured my OJ in a cup and put the lid on, and touched a million other things, was wearing gloves. The SAME gloves for all of these things. If she was wearing the gloves to be hygienic, that is simply laughable. Why wear gloves and then not change them when touching everything? I felt so grossed out that I didn't even drink my OJ until I got to work and took the lid off (it had a drink hole). As always, the food is great and the service, sub par :/ read more

This section of Railroad ave has suddenly transformed into a street with lots of foot traffic, busy cafes and restaurants. I mostly go on weekdays when the line is shorter and manageable but the weekend line is also a social experience in one way :) The pastries are delectable and ultimately that's what will keep bringing me there- St Honore is the ultimate treat and no one makes it better (unless you go to San Francisco). Almond croissants, Pain Suisse, Eclairs are delicious. The flourless Black Forest Cake is a unique take with rich chocolate & cherry layers. The quiche was also one of the better quiches i've tried to date. All the food here is so high in quality, and I keep going back for the croissants (the best i've ever had)! I'd been looking forward to trying this spot with all the hype surrounding it, so we made a point to stop by early on a Thursday morning. It wasn't crowded, which was nice--and we were greeted as we walked in, which gave us a good first impression. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. We ordered two Almond Croissants and two Pain au Chocolat, but the staff member helping us seemed noticeably confused. She asked us to clarify our order three separate times, which was a bit surprising given how quiet it was. Maybe she was having an off morning, but the interaction felt disorganized. Oddly enough, she then told us someone else would take our drink order at the register... and it turned out to be her again. We asked for one iced matcha latte with almond milk and one regular latte. While waiting for our drinks, there was no barista in sight for a few minutes. Just as I was about to ask how long it would take, two staff members finally appeared. During that time, the same employee who helped us let a customer bring in a dog--despite a very clear sign on the door that says no dogs allowed. The dog wasn't leashed properly and even jumped up onto the prepackaged salad area. As a fellow dog owner, I was uncomfortable; it felt unhygienic and disrespectful to other patrons. To top it off, our drink order wasn't even correct--the iced matcha latte came out hot. As for the pastries, we did enjoy the flavors of both the Almond Croissant and the Pain au Chocolat. However, there were clear inconsistencies. One Pain au Chocolat had a glossy egg wash, the other looked unfinished. The coffee, unfortunately, was just mediocre. Food is good (I especially recommend the chouquettes and pain au chocolat), but service is very slow and annoying. You spend more time between the order and register than doing both combined, and lines at busier times can stretch long. Also, the croissant is good but not the best. I don't recommend the Paris-Brest either. The chouquettes, however, are to DIE FOR. Other bakeries are much better and have better service. Service is especially bad on big holidays. I took our goodies home. We warmed them to have with afternoon tea and coffee. My husband seemed fine with his croissant, I personally didn't care for the flavor of my Apple thingy. Was the drive worth it? Absolutely. I noticed reviews about Maison Benoit being very busy with long queues, so I planned an early visit. I stopped by Maison Benoit around 8am on a Saturday. The line was picking up steam, but I didn't find the wait to be long at all. The servers were efficient and handled the orders in an assembly line style case-by-case. They also had 2 registers in service. I ordered a regular croissant, all chocolate croissant, almond chocolate croissant, kouign-amann, lemon meringue tart, chocolate éclair, and a paris-brest. I had a bit of everything and enjoyed it all, but there were definitely a few things to note... The kouign-amann was outstanding. Best I've had in the United States and as good as ones I've had in Paris. The layers were so crispy, and it was buttery soft in the center. Solid croissant. My husband and I didn't eat this until I got home, and it stood the test of time. Crisp sound when you break it apart, honeycomb center, soft and buttery inside. Although the lemon meringue itself was fairly basic, what set it apart was the tart crust! It had a nice almond flavor to me and the texture of frangpane. Paris-brest is one of my all-time favorites, and Maison Benoit did it justice. The praline creme wasn't overly sweet. Chocolate and almond croissant. I'm not the biggest fan of filles croissants because I find that the filling compromises the texture. Crunchy on the outside but way too gooey in the center as I expected. That being said, the goo was tasty. The chocolate overpowers the almond flavor though. Wish I got more of the almond paste. read more

You can tell they make their pastries fresh. Coffee - They serve Equator coffee and make them very well. Pretty standard offering. The only con I have experienced is the burnt almond croissant (pictured) I received when I ordered online. It was just hard and not flaky at all. Hard to eat. I ended up throwing the two almond croissants I got. Mistakes happen it's okay - but really hoping they can fix this and just make sure burnt items don't get served.
