Great day for gelato - sunny & warm. The line was out the door but went reasonably quickly. Lots of flavors from which to choose. The guys were friendly and scoops were generous & neat. Delicious treat, thank you!

We came here for lunch after visiting the Notre Dame Basilica. The decor was really cute like somewhere you'd go for afternoon tea. They also serve ice cream. We had the smoked salmon crepe and the Nutella and strawberry crepe. Both were very tasty! Prices were a bit higher since it was in a touristy area.

Charming and cozy spot tucked away in old Montreal! Tried the hazelnut vanilla hot chocolate and "Complete" crepe. The crepe was delicious, especially the mushroom, though the chicken was a bit bland for me. Overall enjoyable experience. Their lotus cookie cake was moist and flavorful. Festive Middle Eastern music or reggaeton are a credit to the ambience too.

My wife and I came here before going to Norte Dame Basilica as we wanted a convenient place for breakfast. The interior is nice with historical decor. The staff is fast and friendly. The food is amazing too and we had a crepe with eggs, cheese, and spinach, and a bagel with smoked salmon and creme cheese as well as a latte. The crepe was amazing and the bagels were authentic and Montreal style. We loved the latte as well and their work into it.

Super cute place. Great service. The strawberry Nutella crêpe is amazing! If you need a snack next to the Notre Dame Basilica, this is the place to go.

This is a cute little crepey. I was expecting turkey breast instead of deli meat in my savory crepe but it was still delicious. I absolutely loved the pistachio croissant. I'd go back but for the pastries and nice service. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

I was in Montreal for Thanksgiving weekend and wanted to get some hot chocolate at a cute cafe. This cafe popped up so I went over to check it out. First, its REALLY CUTE inside. It has chic and elegant decor. Screams victorian tea party vibes. This place would be a great meet up spot with friends. Second, the service was great. All the staff were very friendly and happy to answer questions. Third, the food is good. I got a classic hot chocolate and a smoked salmon bagel. Hot Chocolate was sweet but not too sweet. Rich and creamy. The smoked salmon bagel was delicious!!! I love the way they decorate the plate. On their menu, they had a lot of different bagel and panini options. They also had 5 different flavors of hot chocolate to choose from. Overall, I had a great experience here and would highly recommend!

Ordered a Nutella strawberry crepe to go. I loved the crepe! Absolutely delicious! The person making my crepe did not go stingy on adding strawberries, and the Nutella and strawberry jam with powdered sugar on top was amazing. The pineapple and orange sides were interesting, they complimented the crepes and I was pleasantly surprised because when I usually order crepes I never had these fruits as a side. Overall, it was a good portion, I wish the price was slightly less than what I paid for, but nonetheless I was happy. 9/10 Will come back next time to sit down in the cafe to try other foods and the drinks here. During my short stop inside, I noticed that the interior was decorated very nicely and the seatings looking comfortable and atmosphere was lively.

Maison Bagatelle has such an elegant cafe vibe and definitely a place to also take lots of pictures for social media. They had a good amount of seating and is a lovely place to chat with friends while having desserts and tea. The staff are all kind. The strawberry nutella crepe was divine. They added so much nutella and strawberries. The crepe was the perfect size and had good thickness. They even added strawberry and chocolate drizzle on top. After eating the crepe, having a slice of orange and pineapple adds the perfect hint of freshness. I will definitely be going back to Maison Bagatelle once in Montreal again and will order a different type of crepe with hot tea on the side!

It was a very very cold new year's eve and I was in desperate need for something sweet and warming , yet literally nothing was open. As I started to give up hope and head to search for fireworks, I saw the faint glimmer of the LED cafe sign of Maison Bagatelle. Not knowing what to expect, I walked in and immediately breathed a sigh of relief. Not only was it literally a welcome warmth, but the interior is beautiful looking like it's come straight out of the french renaissance. Paintings and old chairs set up, and pastries that looked like they came off straight off the shelves in Paris. Unfortunately I had already eaten otherwise I definitely would've taken advantage fully of what Maison Bagatelle had to offer. I opted for a salted caramel hot chocolate which was just what I needed. So warm and sweet, I clutched it tightly and sipped it all the way into the new year. It was perfect. Definitely would go here again!

Got to try some delicious food during my short weekend trip to Montreal Quebec…read more A friend organized a lunch for everyone before we all headed to the airport and funny enough this restaurant was in the hotel my friend and i stayed at. The restaurant was super quiet when we went as it was a Monday afternoon when most people were probably at work. The interior was quite elegant very clean and royalty looking. The service was 10/10. Waiter was very attentive and we could tell he paid attention to detail. He gave great food recommendations and definitely had knowledge of what's on the menu. Now as for how the food and prices were? Prices i'd say are pretty standard and reasonable. The squash soup was so yum and comforting. It had a puree texture to it. Good serving size. I would order it again! We obviously had to have some mimosas and yes we paired it with orange juice. The duck confit may have been a bit too much for me. Large portion and i couldn't even finish half of it. But it wasn't dry and the veggies had a nice crunch and the lentils were very filling and healthy. The flavour notes all went together but i'd definitely say the dish was more on the healthier side. The chicken supreme on the other hand .. although healthy it was still cheesy and buttery. Considering it was chicken breast it didn't even taste dry so i definitely appreciated that. The risotto paired with it was the star of the show! The restaurant takes resos online and they do have brunch on the weekends, happy hour menu looks promising. If i'm ever in town again and in the area i'd want to try their happy hour or chacuterie spread!

(Hotel restaurants, can be good/bad) We were definitely not dressed up which I was worried about but it wasn't an issue, we started with beef carpaccio and charcuterie, the pate was absolutely amazing as were all the cured meats. The beef carpaccio, was for me a little bland, I would have hit it with a touch of salt, but once you got a piece th at had balsamic drizzle it really opened it up and changed my mind. (I wish there was a little more of the balsamic. My husband had the Cornish hen, and I had the filet mignon, both were absolutely amazing, I even stole a little of his Bleu cheese for my steak. Steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were amazing. Our server was on point, his name was Pedro, I had asked him to send out a dessert privately and it was our 1 year anniversary, even though we were not dressed for the occasion as we were both exhausted from travel, We will probably be in for lunch tomorrow!

The bone marrow with snails was also good, but the combination was a little weird. I liked the bone marrow. I liked the snails. But served together took away from enjoying each part on its own. While the food was delicious, the overall experience fell just slightly short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Service was the main area that didn't quite meet expectations. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before receiving menus and had to ask for them. Throughout the meal, interactions felt a bit rushed - several staff members who stopped by the table were somewhat brief, and on a few occasions, items like bread or water were dropped off while we tried to ask questions, but the busser had already walked away. That said, the restaurant was quite busy during lunch, so it's possible the pace and attentiveness were impacted by that. As for the food, we ordered the albacore tuna appetizer along with the strip loin, butcher's cut, and duck for our mains. Everything was well-prepared, though the duck portion was noticeably small. Desserts were a highlight - especially the pavlova with maracuya, which was excellent. Our server Laura was professional, though not very engaging until the very end of the meal when we were settling the bill. I would still return, as the food is strong, but I have to say that Bar George left a more lasting impression on us in terms of both food and service.

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. The optional coriander creme sauce and fresh limes were a great complement to the braising sauce.
