Braised Tofu (forgot to take a photo until after I ate most of it!)

Yummy vegan food close to the Hilton Centre-Ville. Ordering over the phone in English for pickup was easy. Veggies were fresh and food was flavorful. We'd get take-out again from here.

    An amazing chocolate tarte

Lola Rosa was a great experience and one of the best restaurants I ate at in Montreal. The servers were new and mentioned that, but they did an amazing job. They were quick and attentive. I got a salad, which was huge and fresh. The highlight of the meal was this chocolate tarte. It was incredible. Someone else at the table got the brownie which was also great, but we don't recommend the lemon pie.

I visited Lola Rosa twice on my trip to Toronto. The first time was amazing --five stars! I was there for lunch and had the Tartare appetizer and a gyro-inspired wrap. There was a disconnect between how the gyro was described and how it was served. Specifically, the menu described it as coming in a pita but it was definitely wrapped in a regular tortilla. The taste was amazing, though, so I was happy to overlook the discrepancy. Lunch was so good that I made a point of picking up dessert later in the day--that's where things went south. I was expecting 5-star decadence and I got a tiny square of sheet cake with three dabs of frosting. One star. Go for lunch or dinner, for sure, but don't bother staying for dessert!

We are traveling and found Lola Rosa when looking for a vegetarian restaurant - and we're thrilled with this vegan find. The food was phenomenal and the service was delightful. The restaurant itself was clean and we were entertained when we discovered notes of past diners in the drawers of the tables! Such a fun discovery! Highly recommend!!

Two words come to my mind. Awesome time! From the vibes to the decor, I truly enjoyed my time here. Walked in without a reservation, the two of us arrived for dinner at 5:45 pm. As we waited for a table about 5 minutes, the place suddenly filled up, and it was getting fuller so I could tell it's desireable. It was our first time eating anywhere in Montreal, so it was quite an experience. I was pleased to know that our waitress was accommodating and spoke English, and oh my goodness she also spoke French as well. She was superb and made the date night even more out of this world. She had a way of relating to people...she was genuinely kind. I ordered the Quebec la glace drink, and it was soooo good and for sangria, just hit the spot. While we waited, my husband and I found these incredible notes inside our tables that were encouraging to the college students during the pandemic. I literally cried. It was a small heartwarming gesture, yet so meaningful to me that this eatery would set aside to time to lift these students. My heart melted into a puddle. This is the epitome of awesome in my book. Oh right back to the food...My hubby had the red beer which he said was nice. I decided on the hemp burger which came with a salad that was really tasty and delicious. According to the menu, my hemp burger comprised of tofu, brown lentil & hemp seed patty, BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, queso, tomatoes accompanied by mixed greens & marinated cucumbers with a sweet citrus dressing. Yum! My hub had the house curry with chickpea roti. It came with seasonal veggies: sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, turnip, tofu, coconut milk and homemade curry paste. All of this was served over basmati rice with coriander crema, mango-pineapple chutney along with toasted sesame seeds. It was so filling that my husband wasn't able to finish it...but no worries, because I did! :) I highly recommend this place. Why you ask? Because of the good vibes.

Drawer full of notes from customers... And not at all just odes to the place.

Delicious, reasonable, and close to McGill. Possibly my wife's favorite vegan place while we were in Montreal. I eat meat. Nachos were definitely delish. My cheese steak did not taste or feel like a cheese steak,, but it was good. Lots of character, as shown by keeping customer notes to the universe

lychee sangria, lasagna, and caesar salad

great ambiance, the staff was so sweet and kind, LOVED the lychee sangria. one of the best caesar salads of all time

    Lola "Cheesesteak," Poutine, and salad
    Kevin D.

The Lola "Cheesesteak," Poutine, and salad are good! I think eating the Poutine requires a balance of eating between the mushrooms and fries; the mushrooms, gravy, and queso offer sharp salty flavors to my taste buds while the fries offer a dulling salty taste which I think tastes better after the mushrooms + sauces flavors. The salad tastes better with the mushroom gravy and queso sauces than alone, to me. The Lola "Cheesesteak" is really good on its own though the strongest flavor of the bread is the part which has toast crunch on it: otherwise, the bread is a good case holder for other flavors. The entire meal is filling: I have leftovers. Customer service is chill and good especially for a seemingly busy night.

Well made cocktails and great selection of beers. For food, we ordered curry dish and quesadilla and both the dishes were delicious. We especially liked the cilantro dip that came with the chickpea curry.

Belle petite place sur Milton. Staff super gentil. Belle petite touche

Definitely a solid 4 stars. Ordered takeout on a weekday and it was only a 10 minute wait. They have many locations for your convenience all over the city. When I arrived to pick up my food, the place was packed. I would assume at least a 20 min wait (not sure if they accept reservations). It had a very authentic and lively vibe. The servers were friendly and helped me get my takeout fast and efficiently. I decided on a burrito made with avocado and beans. I was craving some comfort food and this definitely hit the spot. The burrito was prepared perfectly - stuffed to the makes with vegetable goodness. Oh btw this place is entirely vegetarian. The meal came with some sides too salad and rice....the rice was perfectly fluffy and so delicious. Extremely flavourful and very authentic. In all a solid takeout spot!

Update: they changed their menu and it's pricier. Food is okay. They had a potato thing with the burger and it wasn't great. Hopefully that gets better soon! What can I say that hasn't been already said about Lola Rosa? To start, this is where I bring all of my visitors to Montreal. Food: so flavourful that you'll hardly miss meat if you're a meat eater. My recommendations and to to is always the quesadilla with the sweet potato filling. So good. I also enjoy their burgers, though it does tend to fall apart. In all honesty, you could order anything and it'd be perfect. Nachos are also towering. A Service: Not only is the food perfect for people of all diets, but the servers even go out of their way to ask if anyone has any dietary restrictions - something I feel that is super important since many folks have restrictions. Your water is always full, the servers are always so friendly. Ambience and space: it's a little space but you can reserve your table in advance (highly recommended as it gets REALLY busy). There are tables that you can pull the drawers out from and read peoples letters and random thoughts. It's a bit loud so you'll find you'll need to talk louder in order to hear conversations.

Montreal's most magical dining experience!…read more If you're looking for a reason to book a trip to Montreal, let me give you one: Tula. My husband and I visited during a recent trip to the city, and without question, it was the best meal we had -- and honestly, one of the most memorable dining experiences of our lives. From the moment you walk through the door, the space wraps you in warmth. The atmosphere is inviting, the decor puts you instantly at ease, and the staff greet you with the kind of genuine kindness that's increasingly rare. But it's Abhi and Renata (apologies if I've misspelled either name!) who truly make this place something extraordinary. These two are the heart and soul of Tula, and their passion for what they do radiates through every single aspect of the experience. We spent a few wonderful hours there, and I mean that -- the time just melted away. Renata sang for the entire restaurant, and her voice was absolutely stunning, a spontaneous and beautiful gift to everyone in the room. Abhi, in the most generous gesture, sat down and hand-wrote a list of vegan restaurant recommendations from around the globe for us to take home. These are people who love what they do and love the people they do it for. And then there's the food. Oh, the food. We started with an Indian taco special that set the tone perfectly, then moved on to the Tofu Achari Masala curry with chapati and the Dal Sambar with steamed rice -- both absolutely spectacular. We finished with a special pistachio cake dessert that was the perfect, dreamy ending to the meal. Every single dish tasted like it was made with genuine love and intention, because it was. This is vegan Indian cuisine at its very finest. I left Tula feeling something I didn't quite expect: greater faith in humanity. That might sound dramatic, but if you go -- and you absolutely must go, as soon as possible -- I think you'll understand exactly what I mean. Don't wait. Just go.
