I'm staying in Montreal for a few days, and Shnoopi is a block away from my rental. I wanted something quick after a long day of exploring (even though it's also a cute place for dining in). I ordered the roast beef. It was fan. Tastic! The ingredients are all fresh and put together thoughtfully. The bread is amazing. This is a great place for a quick, casual lunch. A cute cafe with a variety of seating options for 2-4 people . We were immediately seated and our orders were taken. I had the Caprese Sandwich- and it was excellent. Fresh mozzarella, with tomatoes, arugula , pesto, and eggplant. The eggplant complimented the mozzarella and balsamic. The bread was so good, fresh and toasted. My daughter had the Goat Cheese sandwich. It was on a toasted baguette with grilled eggplant, honey, and a spring mix. The sandwiches were amazing, and each of the breads were perfectly baked and some of the best bread we have had. Service was excellent, kind, and pleasant. Super cute lunch spot! My partner and I came and shared the Shnoopi sandwich and the pasta special of the day, which was a Truffle penne. Sandwich was solid and the pasta was delicious. Service - 5/5 - The individuals working here were all so friendly and helpful, with a smile on their faces, and provided me with some recommendations. They speak both English and French and are not judgemental towards English! Food - 3.8/5 - I really enjoyed the Schnoopi which is a truffle and shrimp sandwich.. I do enjoy truffle but it's not something I love, so I gave this a bit of a lower rating. Someone else who enjoys the combo of the 2 would probably love it, as the sandwich is so fresh. It really is tasty, so if you think you'll like the flavours, you probably will love it. I'd be curios to order a different sandwich next time, like the beef - as I probably would love it. I just arrived in Montreal and was looking for a restaurant that was open on New Years Day when my boyfriend found this spot. The staff were friendly & helpful, and the restaurant was clean and had a good amount of seating. Luckily, we also were seated just before a large lunchtime rush. The pesto chicken sandwich was very good. I didn't even get to take a picture because it was gone in minutes, lol. Get here. Eat incredible food. Be taken care of by great owners. Walking by from my hotel to an errand, I saw this place and thank goodness I stopped in. First, the greeting made me feel like I'd been there 100 times and was neighbors with the owner. Then... the food! On the chill of today, the homemade cream with chicken soup was outstanding. Thick but not overwhelming like a chowder, the chicken chunks were big and filling every spoonful it seemed. I had ordered - by luck - the signature sandwich he has, the Shnoopi, and that was a homer run. Shrimp on a bed of arugula wrapped in a fresh baguette topped with a wonderful-but-too-much mushroom and feta spread he makes. Nice, warm place ... come here and you won't be sad. read more

I had the lobster roll and potato salad, which were both great. The potato salad had a generous portion of egg in it, and that made it even better. The shop is simple, but there are several tables inside for groups of 2-4. They also have an awesome outside dining area on the street, which is enclosed and covered. They have the most DELICIOUS bread I have ever tasted. I went last year and I forgot to give them this review, but I believe that I had the lobster sandwich and, my goodness, it was like heaven! The service was pleasant and fast; there were only like 2 or people working and I barely waited. It's a small, little restaurant with maybe 7 or 8 tables but it has its own personality and friendly feeling to it.
