Buford City Schools usually have events here as a reward and end of year activity which is nice since they usually rent out the place and have a private event. We came as a Small Group Couples' Outing. We bowled which was fun, but the pins kept getting stuck. So we had to go to a different lane. Other than that the food was delicious as Cheeseburgers with fries, Chicken sandwiches with fries, and Chicken salad. The customer service was great other than the hiccup of pins. They took great care of our group. It was not too crowded. We arrived midday before the rush. The ambiance was great. Everyone having a good time playing. read more

Came here to bowl and don't see myself coming back. The service was very slow because I was told they are understaffed. We had to flag our waitress down because she never came over to us. She apologized and accommodated us as best she could, but she was so overwhelmed. Our game got stuck about 20 minutes in and I talked to three different employees and no one ever came over to fix it. We hit the reset button several times and then finally hit the reset button for the lane next to ours and that seemed to do the trick, but we lost several minutes of game play. The drink our waitress suggested was really good. The rail in our bowling lane was up and we could not figure out how to let it down. Aside from the slow service, this place seems more geared to kids and family. The bowling graphics are cute and the neon lights are a nice touch but the bowling balls were not ideal if you want a more professional bowl. It's not the type of place I see myself going to, to hang with friends or a date night situation. There seemed to be a couple of employees that didn't have anything to do and was sitting around. I would suggest if those employees have downtime, they can come and help in other areas and maybe walk the bowling bays to make sure each party didn't need anything. read more

Don't let this stop you from going & having a great time here. This is a clean & friendly place, but this specific day was a little off. I would give 4 stars, but they really need to be more attentive of the bowling lanes & have a present manager on-site/available at all times! THIS is why a lower rating. Arrived just after 11 am on Sunday, 5-11 with my children. Mother's Day! We checked into lane 20 & had 1.5 hrs on the clock. The score machine never worked properly. The lane broke down on us 1/2 threw 1st game. We moved to lane 11... same thing. Nothing worked properly. Moved to lane 12... as the lane worked, the score machine still did not keep up properly & the pins never reset correctly- kept dropping them. I went to the ladies room... NO TP in my stall & only 1 towel dispenser had about 1/2 a roll. No soap either. I called a mgr to assist. The bartender came with 2 walkie talkies & said mgrs were not in site, but could hear me. I explained & off he went. We got time put back on the clock. I NEVER heard back from anyone & we had to keep going to people as issues came up. IF THERE WAS AN ATTENDANT AT THE ALLEYS WE COULD HAVE GRABBED HIM/HER FOR QUICK ASSISTANCE & DRINKS!! I had to lose my rotations & run time down bowling to get drinks for us. The A/C wasn't on & it was soooooo hot too. The folks we spoke to were very nice & helpful. Other staff stood at the party tables drinking/chatting. Was a fun time dispite all of this. read more

I didn't receive a confirmation email, and there was a snowstorm. We had family coming in for this party, so I called to cancel because that day would not work. After calling and giving them my info, they said we need to hope they can cancel it with our information because we don't have our booking number, which we never received. After attempting to contact again, we were sent to voicemail several times. It's crazy to me that if they don't send you your code, they say all you can do is hope. You are telling me my information isn't enough to cancel, only a generated number will do? read more

My wife and I I took 4 of our grandchildren to Main Event to bowl, the food was fine but the Lane were not functioning properly, we paid for 90 minutes and it took 2-3 minutes for the balls to return which consumed a lot of the time we were only able to bowl one game. Very Disappointing read more

We celebrated a birthday here a few weeks ago. We didn't make reservations and the staff was able to quickly put together several tables for us. Overall we had a great time. The only issue was watching the bartender make my drink. No gloves were used, hands were not washed, she grabbed the cherries and wedge of orange with her hands. wanted to like this place I've given in three fair chances over the years and every time they fail to meet basic service standards. The two stars are because on my first visit i had a server at the bowling lanes who was extremely attentive. He was on top of everything. Following week i returned and the place was like a ghost town not sure if staff left but they are extremely understaffed and do not have the staffing to handle what seems like to be non busy business hours i cannot imagine the service if the place was at full capacity. Took my son in law over and purchased a $60 game card. I was amazed at the condition Of the games. Literally 84 of the games were unplayable Balls missing from almost all of the spring games. Best time to come here is on the slow days Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday. Whenever I try to come on the weekend the service is twice as slow, it's super packed takes almost 1-2 hours to get a bowling lane at peak hours. A lot of the games took my credits, and when it's busy it's almost impossible to get a game attendant to come fix it. I have to say this was the best experience for my family. We showed up on a Sunday with no reservation. Mya at check in was very gracious and accommodating, found a way for our family to have two lanes. While we were waiting for our last minute request, the bartender was very nice and he was very helpful with menu and recommendations. Once we got to the lanes, our server, Christ(tian?) not sure of correct spelling, was very responsive and made the day wonderful. The staff here is truly wonderful! I rarely write reviews,this is only my third in years but our visit to Main Event was disappointing enough that it deserves honest feedback. We came as a group of four and collectively spent well over $200. Service was slow, basic drink orders were mishandled and a 20% gratuity was pre-added in a way that felt uncomfortable to adjust. Bowling only made things worse. For the first hour and a half, the lane next to us was left covered in food and dirty dishes from previous guests. Some frames even started with missing pins, which shouldn't happen at any bowling alley. The arcade was equally frustrating. Many games appeared to be working but weren't and even worse, they still deducted gameplay credits when you swiped your card despite not functioning. Taken individually, these issues are frustrating. Taken together, they point to poor oversight and management. This review isn't written out of anger, but concern for future customers. Main Event has the potential to be a great venue but only if these systemic problems are addressed. I hope management sees this feedback for what it is: an opportunity to fix issues before more guests leave disappointed and overcharged. read more

This place used to be amazing. However, we went tonight to spend some time with family and it was very disappointing. Spent $50 for 300 credits which literally went down the drain. 80% of the games were not working and no one was on the floor fixing the games. Whatever you do, just don't come to this Main Event to eat. They are understaffed as many places are and do not have a proper seating wait system. My date and I went up to the host stand and she informed us that she would find us in the middle of the loud, crowded venue in order to seat us. There was no pager system or phone call system whatsoever. We ended up just sitting and waiting for half an hour before deciding to leave and eat at a different restaurant. The menu selection is very limited as well. After dinner elsewhere, we decided to return to go bowling. Upon going up to the ticket stand, the attendant told us it was a 3 hour wait then another guy said 2.5 hour wait. We decided to pass on that! We got a game card and just went to play some games at the arcade. It was a fun time at the arcade! My only complaint would be the sanitation as many guests touch the same game equipment without it being wiped down after each use. There should be sanitizing wipes available for guests to use before touching the equipment. I tried to get hand sanitizer but all the dispensers ran out. Once we were done playing games in the arcade, we went to the winners store and picked out some prizes. They have some fun prizes for a reasonable amount of tickets. The chicken strips were great. The service was great for food/drinks with my kiddo was just right. However, many of the games/equipment were malfunctioning and absolutely not working but they certainly took the swipe and funds from our card. We got the funds back at the points redemption register but we had to spend so much time to go report it and WAIT in line for limited workers who were often nowhere to be found wasting precious time. Plus it's hard for a special needs child to understand "why" at times making it almost miserable for this mama to have to deal with his frustration/meltdowns and sadness. Not to mention the family bathroom and the main women's bathroom stalls were so filthy and gross. The family one had human fluids both blood and possibly vomit, we exited as fast as we walked in. The main women's stalls had toilet paper all over the floor, most of the stalls were out of TP to actually utilize and the paper towel dispensers were all broke so they had rolls of paper towels which was not only inconvenient but IMO represented how the facility was ran/managed and attended too. I'm not one to frequent or return to places where it's not super cheap fun if they don't take care of their customers by making it a safe and clean, fun place with machines/games that function properly. Probably give it a try again sometime because he did enjoy all the basketball hoop games the best of anyplace we've been but I'll have to weigh in if another place can provide us the same with a cleaner environment. read more

If you don't feel like reading this entire review: just don't go. Avoid it. Don't come here. We came on a Sunday, expecting a wait for a bowling lane. We were quoted an hour. No problem. They took my contact information down on a scrap piece of paper and that's where the skepticism began. We decided to play some games to kill the time (with our 4 year old). Majority of the games were broken - they would deduct your points, but they wouldn't allow play. Others miscalculated points and didn't add them to your card. We continuously went back to the winners circle for redemption points or points back for games that didn't work. There is literal trash throughout the arcade, at no fault of the staff.. people should know how to clean up after themselves. Maybe a few more staff members helping out in the arcade area would be effective? I don't know, everything seemed dirty. After two hours of waiting for our lane (and the frustrating arcade experience), we finally bowled and ordered food. The server was kind and the food was ok.. the real kicker was going to the restroom and hearing a few staff members talking obscenely about a customer. I'll spare you the words used but this was the last straw for us, it just wasn't worth all of the hassle. read more

We came for bowling and the arcade, and I definitely recommend going elsewhere for both. When the lane reset the pins between players, it repeatedly got stuck, the reset button wouldn't fix it, and we had to keep asking for a staff person to help. I've had that happen at other alleys, who added extra time for the inconvenience, but not here. There wasn't an odd number weight ball to be found anywhere, and the finger hole sizes were either small or x-large. Plus, the bumpers wouldn't go down for the adults. The arcade: most of the games were busted. Either the card swiped wouldn't work, the swipe would work but the game wouldn't work at all, or the swipe would work but something was wrong with the game - if balls were needed they'd be short the right number or even missing completely, or something would be jammed and would miscount scoring. Literally half the money we spent was wasted, or more accurately, stolen. And this wasn't the first bad arcade experience we've had. We came to a birthday party a couple of months ago, and there were busted games then, too, though not as many or as bad. Save yourself the disappointment and aggravation and drive a little further north to Stars and Strikes in Buford. We've always had good experiences there (though their food isn't quite as good). read more

Bathrooms had no soap or toilet covers. Two of the bathrooms doors did not close. Used tampons in several bathroom stalls. Toilet paper all over the floor. No hand sanitizer anywhere in the building. Dirty tables we asked to be cleaned when we got to our bowling area and was told they only clean between reservations, but clearly not. There are so many activities including: -bowling -laser tag -video games -gravity ropes -pool tables Prices may vary depending on the days since they have different promotions. The food is so good, and the presentations are fancy it makes you want to take pictures of your food. My favorite thing to get there used to be the coconut shrimp, but last time I went it wasn't on the menu (what a shame). The parking lot is huge, and there's usually cops around making sure it's safe for everyone. They're kinda pricey, but I think it's been worth it for the times I've been there. I came all the way out to this location of Main Event, which isn't my first choice since it's so freaking far from the Perimeter. Monday night has a great promotion for those who don't care about the prizes but more about playing the games. It's $10 for unlimited game play on Monday night! Also for unlimited bowling/laser tag if you choose to go that way, but it's arcade or bowling/laser tag. It's actually a great way to practice games without consequences. We ordered some food since it was dinner time - I ended up getting the fish and chips, which were pretty good. The tartar sauce was weird and not tasty at all. Just ketchup for me next time, thanks. A friend in our group ordered The Main Event Burger and it was amazing! Very insta-worthy, I honestly don't know how he fit it in his mouth... the chicken tenders weren't bad. We also decided to share the party platter of apps, which were a bit underwhelming, unfortunately. It did make for a pretty display, though. I found some of the items dry and/or overly salty. As others have noted, the prices for food some pretty high, especially for the quality and ordinariness of the selection. Overall, I had a good time. Food isn't cheap and the best but it's an ok place to grab food without have to plan two locations to meet at. Visited yesterday with 5 adults, 2 senior citizens, and 3 kids/grandkids (3 separate families) for some fun and lunch. Spent over $300 for decent fun in yesterday's rain...or so we thought. Currently, all of us - who only happened to share a meal here yesterday - are vomiting through the night with food poisoning, kids included. Food took almost an hour and a half to arrive. Inquired a couple times as to status of it. They were either a.) bothered by our inquiries and did something to the food or b.) were served food that was either expired, inappropriately maintained, or prepared incorrectly in violation of the Georgia Food Act. read more

Terrible experience. Bathrooms had urine sprayed on all toilets...toilet paper all on the floor, no soap in the dispensers whatsoever. We literally played the arcade games and majority of arcade games were broken. I'd swipe my game card and it will accept the credits but the game would not start. Another incident is most of them were broken. Literally. Wait but there's more... $54 to play bowling? When we got to our lane, it was still dirty from the previous players. Left over shoes that were never returned and food still on the table. I went to ask an employee to have our lane cleaned and there were two people, male and female, dressed in all black. As I was approaching them they turned and saw me and both walked hurriedly away. Luckily I found help from someone else. What kind of organization/company is this to allow your employees not only disregard customers but to allow dirty restrooms and sit customers on dirty lanes... It was very clear them too were avoiding me...I've never experienced something like that. Very rude for them, especially working in an industry like this. We get it your shifts are tiring and busy but do not treat your customers like this! Do not work at a place like this if you are not willing to help satisfy customers!!!
