I have been a Mail Boxes 580 customer for over 5 years, Art, the owner, oversees his business with a lot of integrity. He is very knowledgeable about shipping and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet or do business with. Very convenient hours of operation too. I highly recommend. read more

This is where I've been taking my employer-related fed ex docs to drop off for years. Last week or so they said fed ex already picked up at 3:30 (usually it's 5-5:30) and then yesterday, Jan 24th I thought I'd run down earlier and at 3 they weren't even open and both times, crunched for time and I had to go down to foothill. It's it's new management that's causing the issue, I'm taking my business elsewhere. Disappointing. Going to try the one by Nations.. and try NOT to go IN TO Nations! read more

Rude, unorganized, and always late, there is never anyone in the front counter helping, and when the guy eventually comes out (john) - black bald headed guy, he has a bad attitude like he hates his job. Smh! read more

If I could give a zero I would. They need to answer the phone. Do not want to drive somewhere not knowing if a service is provided!!!

Charged $8 for five pieces of paper in a regular manila envelope with USPS First Class Shipping only, with no explanation. Beware.

They never pick up their phone they are absolutely awful they don't even update the tracking info please do not ship your package here they are causing me a great deal of stress read more

I am so grateful I stumbled into Mailboxes 580 a couple years ago. Art, the owner, is so organized and friendly. He makes my life (as a business owner) so much easier, and I love our little chats every time I stop by. Highly recommend. The UPS store in Castro Valley is absolutely terrible, so it makes me appreciate Art more. He knows how to run a business. He is courteous, customer-focused, and affordable. read more

We have been using Mailboxes 580 for many years, for our mail and for shipping. Art takes very good care of his customers. The reviews that criticize shipping costs are off base.. this is a small business and they need to get paid for their time and costs. UPS Store and Fedex retail are no cheaper, I guarantee. We look at Art as a business partner... this is our "office", we know our mail is secure, and well worth every penny. read more

Just shipped a package from here a couple of weeks ago. The owner, Art, was very patient and professional. I was a little frazzled as I was trying to squeeze in shipping a long over due package between appointments. I'd put it off as another shipping place in Castro Valley quoted me a ridiculously high charge to put it in a box for me, and I never got around to finding my own box and shipping it at the post office. Art took care of it quickly, efficiently, and painlessly at a very reasonable cost. I was in and out of there in less than five minutes. I will definitely be using them again! read more

It really depends on what is of importance to you as the customer. Yes, Art is a bit pricey for at least some of his services, but it usually beats standing in line at the post office. He is genuinely kind, and sincere, and that goes a long way. He has a sense of humor, and wants to interact with his customers. Lately I found that two large heavy boxes I needed to send to the East coast, ground, was to cost $75 or so via Art. I politely told him I couldn't pay that much, and went to the post office. I think I saved $15. Had I known what the post office would charge, I would have saved the 30 minutes round trip driving and gone ahead and paid Art. Considering all factors and elements, I've known Art for close to 15 years, and do agree that Mail Boxes 580 is "as good as it gets". read more

Service is impeccable and always trying to assist. Always handling many items for multiple customers. Art and staff are the bomb. You have handled our corporate mail for years and we appreciate all of the staff. Way to go!!!!!!!!! Happy Holidays to all working there and be safe over the New Year. Cheers read more

Good service. Art knows his stuff and is lowkey with a great sense of humor. The main downside for me is that they have never answered the phone when I've called. When I'm checking to see if I have a particular piece of mail or a package, it would be real nice to talk to someone. The end of the message makes me think that they have no plans to answer the phone because it basically says, "If you have any questions, come on in." Other than the phone situation, it's very good. read more

I go here for convenience only. I am usually not interested in the price nor do I care. If you have a brick or a watch or a stuffed animal you can hand it to the person and they will box it up for you and send it. You pay and done. Today I had to just get a cardboard box because I am needing to go to the USPS and utilize book/media rate. Sometimes the rate at the post office is so cheap you have to go. So I find the perfect box, pay the money and the guy offers to pack it all up for me even though he knew I was going elsewhere. I think he felt for me that I had to go wait in line at the USPS. read more

Art the owner is the best. We have had our mail get delivered there for 10 years. Their service is dependable and his team is always helpful. Art is also a pretty smart business man too! read more

Art provides impeccable service. Really appreciate having this service as our packages have been stolen twice. Highly recommend!!!!

I sent a Post Office flat rate package (Post office cost $5.65). I was charged $7.95 and was not told until asked why the fee. "Convenience fee", later I looked at my receipt and realized I was charged 41% extra!. I then bought a book of stamps; normal charge at any other place is $9.80. I was charged $12! Your better off going elsewhere, anywhere. The service was less than helpful, very indifferent to customer questions and not forthcoming when asked questions. read more

so ive been trying to reach them for over 5 hours now and NO ONE wants to pick up the phone and do there job. i am a customer who would like to handle some business and after 5 hours the phone was picked up once & I was hung up on....wth??? i usually receive the best customer service in-house but I assume if I am someone trying to inquire on anything I'm not worth the time of day...way to go Mail Box 580,...who ever is SUPPOSED to be answering the phone sucks ass in a major way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Use this place all the time. Great service. The owner is always friendly and very helpful.

I will never again drop off any package at this place. I dropped off a FedEx package around 12:30 on Friday, 3/30/2018. I asked for a receipt of the drop off but was told the store does not issue receipt. I was told to leave the package on the floor on the other side of the lobby, six to seven feet away, outside of the counter. I even asked the staff, "Is it safe?" He answered, "It's safe. I've been working her for three years." With that assurance, I left the package there. I have been checking on FedEx website yesterday and today, (3/31/2018), but keep getting message: "Not found." Apparently, since the store seems not in their business to safeguard the package, someone could simply come into the store, picked up my package, and walked away. Evidently that was exactly what happened; FedEx therefore has never gotten the package and responded with "Not Found" when I tried to track it. I write this review to warn all others hoping I am the last customer who lost package at this store. read more
