This restaurant is just like the Clearview Expressway, it's the best kept secret in Queens. The staff here were welcoming and made us feel at home. The food is absolutely delicious. I had the salad that is made with... red onion gelato! That's right, red onion gelato and when it's mixed with the salad, it's the best thing I ever ate. The shrimp in the salad was absolutely freaking delicious. My husband had a Caesar Salad and the dressing alone is so good and thick, you can dip your bread in it. When it comes to the dessert, get the cannoli! It's so good. If you are in the mood for a restaurant with good food and atmosphere, Magna Restaurant is for you! Sorry for no pictures, the food was just that good!

Magna is a lovely Italian restaurant that seems to be out of place in the heart of busy Flushing, Queens with its abundance of Asian eateries. I was so surprised to stumble upon an Italian gem of a restaurant just a 15 minute walk from downtown Flushing. Magna is a beautiful restaurant with authentic Italian dishes and decor. It is perfect for date night, formal lunches and dinners, family and corporate gatherings. I can see people throwing baby showers, engagement dinners, and events of some sort in their dining area in the back. There is a space that looks like it could fit up to 50 guests, separated with wall dividers, and decorated with an event planner. Every dish was presented nicely and shareable. The cannoli is a must get dessert. You might even want that before any appetizers or entrees. The calamari is what you expect as the OG fried rings with tentacles served with marinara sauce. The seafood pasta had too many olives that overpowered the entire dish. The pizza could have been a little crispier so you can tell the server to leave it in the oven a bit longer but overall decent Italian sliced pizza. There were specials of the day menu items that I will most likely lean towards ordering when I return in the future.

I'm in the bridal party for my friend's upcoming wedding and we decided to host her bridal shower at Magna. Originally, they promised us the back nook, so that it was semi private. It didn't work out and they gave us a large table on the side, which worked out. They pretty much let us use half the restaurant, set up a separate table for us to place the cake/cupcakes/guestbook (note - $3 plating fee per person if you bring your own cake), and even helped us hang our decorations (shout out to Fabio!) We decided to order a few dishes and serve it family style. Everything was great. This is what we had: Caesar Salad (romaine lettuce, croutons, reggiano cheese with classic Caesar dressing) Calamari Fritti (crisp fried calamari with garlic marinara sauce) - perfectly fried Sfizi all'Italiana (freshly sliced prosciutto, mortadella, capicola, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, provolone, roasted peppers) - my only complaint was that there was no prosciutto (like the menu had described), but overall not bad. Rigatoni alla Vodka (rigatoni pasta in pink vodka sauce) - this was my fave. I love a good pasta a la vodka. Spaghetti alla Carbonara (spaghetti with italian bacon, parmesan, and poached eggs) - this was pretty good too but also a bit heavy Risotto ai Frutti di Mare (risotto served with clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp) - they gave a good amount of seafood Pollo alla parmigiana (breaded chicken breast topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella) - chicken was cooked perfectly For drinks, we had asked about bringing our own bottles of wine but then they wanted to charge us a ridiculous corkage fee of $35 per bottle. We ended up just ordering four bottles of wine (for 14 people) for the table, which was the perfect amount. It was also cheaper than paying the corkage fee. Overall, it was a nice space for a bridal shower (also because no one was really there while our party was going on). However, I'd only recommend it if you have a small group. The restaurant isn't that big.

Great little Italian restaurant tucked in the heart of Flushing. I love that this place takes reservations on Opentable. The restaurant does not have a cocktail menu but the waiter was great and concocted a fruity prosecco drink for me. This is the hotel restaurant. During our meal, most of the other patrons were from a Russian tour group who had their meals as part of a package. Everyone came down and checked off a pre-approved list as part of their package. For us, we ordered the pear salad, risotto and veal. The arugula in the pear salad was not very fresh and so we did not like the salad very much. The risotto was good but could have been cheesier. The veal was very delicious! We got a free dessert as part of checking in on Yelp and chose the tarfuo which was very good.

I received my order. They don't bring me my sides and in the caesar salad the shrimp was not ready. I paid for the shrimp and didn't eat it, I'm not happy with a service from this restaurant. I'm not recommend this place

The food is good. Check in to get a free glass of wine. The appetizers and salad portions were surprisingly large which I give props for. I got the chicken parm with spaghetti that was good. The spaghetti was cooked perfect and the sauce. Yum. We got calamari, nothing special about it. Pork chop had a unique flavor but just a little bit over cook but that's fine. I would come back here again.

Food: 3.5/5 We made it a point to try a range of brunch options. My grandfather ordered the sweet potato and chorizo hash, I went with the two-egg combo with pork sausage (eggs over easy), and my husband chose the Moroccan eggs. Overall, the food was good and flavorful, especially if you enjoy dishes with a bit more nuance and influence from Spanish or Mexican flavors. That said, as someone who leans more toward classic American diner-style brunch, it didn't fully hit that nostalgic spot for me. It's not that anything was bad--it just wasn't the most memorable brunch I've had. Still, it was nice to explore a different side of their menu beyond the burgers, fries, and pasta we'd tried before. Service: 4/5 The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. However, they do rely on a QR code-style menu, which can be a bit of a learning curve--especially for those who prefer a more traditional ordering experience. During the brunch rush, things definitely got busy and a bit overwhelmed, so service slowed down slightly. One tip: if you already know what you want, it's best to order everything upfront to avoid delays. Vibe: 3.5/5 Like many New York spots, space is tight. Even as a party of four, we were seated at a small square table, which could be challenging if you have strollers or extra belongings. That said, the space still feels cozy and neighborhood-friendly--great for a casual brunch, just not the most spacious. All in all, It's a solid neighborhood brunch spot with interesting, flavor-forward dishes and kind service. I wouldn't call it my top brunch destination, but I'd come back if I were in the area--especially if I was craving something a little different from the usual diner fare.

However, I have to give Morena's a less-than-great rating due to difficulties with the service and payment. When the server came to take my order, I asked about the lunch special specified on the menu, where it's stated that all main courses are available as a lunch special at a reduced price; I had seen that online and it was a big reason I decided to stop by for lunch. The server directed us to the counter with a hot bar of selected dishes (but not all of the main courses as the menu said) and told us that ordering from there consisted of the lunch special. Fortunately, the oxtail I wanted was there anyway. When it came time to pay, I expected the check to be brought to the table but I had to get up to go to the counter. The server gave me a charge that was higher than the lunch special prices on the menu, more in line with the regular non-special price. I asked to confirm if it was the lunch price (apparently yes) and if I could see an itemized receipt before paying (apparently not). I ended up just paying because I didn't want to make a fuss, but something seems to have gone wrong. Was the menu inaccurate or outdated? Was the server not fluent in English and didn't catch what I asked? Is this something they pull on people who they assume to be from outside the area? I'm not quite sure and I don't want to assume bad intentions, but I unfortunately can't recommend this restaurant based on that spotty experience.

For appetizers we got calamari good but could've used a little more breading. Also got chips with guacamole and honestly for a diner it was delicious. Everyone was friendly. Roza knew she had a bday past since we conversed for a bit and suggested we can sing her happy bday and asked what she liked I told her chocolate cake. They asked for the correct spelling of her name which I thought was sweet. Anyway the staff came out and sang with us super cool. Even the bathrooms are really clean. It was a great experience will definitely come back.I must be honest it's a hit pricey. The price for the pancakes with eggs was $23 when we saw the bill I was a little surprised. Kids' meals are $13 and I thought we were getting the cake (free, lol) since I technically didn't suggest it. It was $12 for a slice. But overall it was a pleasure she even gave us a sample of vodka with lemon and ginger which was actually good and helps settle the stomach.
