I don't know if I would go back to to this place again. Originally my friend and I went because the Groupon was a good deal and when I called to make an appointment said she will honor it and we didn't have time buy the Groupon. Made the appointment for 4:45pm but we were running behind because of work. I called and asked if it was ok if we came at 5 and the lady on the phone tells me "well do I have a choice?"........ shebwas trying to make a joke about it but what kind of response it that?! I just let it slide. So we make it there and checked in. They started off with out pedicures which they put a bag around the bowl part so that was good. Now my water was SOOOOOO HOT my feet were red! I even told the lady to make it cooler and she barely added any more cool water. I asked her again but added a little bit more. I just kept my feet out of the water. She barely did anything for me in regards to the hot water. My toe nails are already short and she did make them shorter so now my feet look like little girl nails. Shellac time.... it was fine but they did now buff the edges of the nails after and it looked like a half off job AND it started to chip when I got home!!! how in the world does that even happen?! Came here with my fiancé because I had a Groupon. I called a few days prior to get the appointment. When we got there, we were told there was only one person there to do nails for the both of us because one called in sick and one went out of the country. I think they should take customers phone numbers when we make the appointment so they can call us in advance and inform us when life happens. My fiancé waited while the manicurist did my nails (mani and pedi) and I waited while she did his. They did offer us drinks and played music for us. However, it seemed, the manicurist was in a hurry as it was 6 and they close at 7. I think they could have done a better job if they had more people working there. It was fast, didn't feel as relaxing when they take their time, and the paint job (shellac) was so so. If you're in a hurry and need to get nails done, I'd go here. Spontaneously I decided to try out a new nail place and purchased a Groupon for Magic Nail & Spa. #1 The place is not easy to find because the don't have a sign facing Westheimer so unless you know where to turn then you won't have an easy time finding this place. It's a small narrow space and doesn't look like anything a spa should look. #2 After I signed in, the Vietnamese lady asked if I had a Groupon, I told her yes but only for the Shellac Manicure. She said " Next time you don't have to get a Groupon and you come here we charge you same price." Basically going around the system or trying to get paid under the table. I told her I didn't want a pedicure but she kept asking me repeatedly as if it was going to change my mind. Then she gave a $32 quote for the Shellac Mani & Pedi which again I told her I didn't want the pedicure. #3 While waiting because there were only to nail techs, I read the reviews and was shocked to read that a lady got her foot cut and had to go to the ER 8 days ago. #4 I decided to give my Groupon away to one of the customers there for free because I just felt uncomfortable getting a service there. The owner who is a Hispanic chick with a Bluetooth in her ear saw me talking to one of the patrons and immediately came up to us asking if there was a problem trying to be nosey since I was not speaking in a loud tone. I told her I was just saying hello to the other patron and the owner chick still stood there waiting for me to finish talking. I had to give her a look for her to go away. #5 The do not sanitize there tools properly and the licenses posted on the wall all don't have photos expect one. The are required by law to have a photo. I wish I could give them no stars, facts or facts. I bought the $35 Groupon offer and after I booked the appointment the first time on a Sat - I received a phone call from the 'Manager' before the appointment asking if they could reschedule for the next day which was fine because it was on a Sunday. Apparently she had no available nail techs for my appt. I came in on Sunday morning, no nail tech. Per the manager the nail tech she thought was coming in that day was a no call no show. She stated the other nail tech was on vacation so she only had 1 tech available. I asked her why she couldn't do the shellac/pedicure and she informed me she was the manager of the place but she didn't go to school for cosmetology. Interesting. I finally made an appt two weeks later, doing the evening-after work. One of the techs informed me that all of them were sick and she felt so sick she was about to pass out because she had been working all day long and she and the manager had a cold. So they had another nail tech assist me. I got nervous when I saw that there were no liners for the chairs. In fact when I looked in the water I had to point out something that was still in the water. She drained it out but I was having serious misgivings. She did a regular job, on my pedicure. I thought her manicure when she was doing my shellac was pretty good as my hands are very dry. When it came to my feet, I told her not to use the heel scraper on them.The skin on my heels was cracked because they get real dry. However, when she picked the heel grater... off the floor....I told her not to use it. I was already afraid I was going to get an infection of some sort. Next she slathered oil all over one of my arms with no warning. I had them wipe it off. I explained my skin is sensitive and I have to be careful what I put on it which is true and it would have been nice if they asked before she slathered oil all over my arm. Plus- I didn't want any extras at this point I just wanted to get out of there. The salon was not at its cleanest when I walked in. They started to clean up as time went on but the other nail tech and the owner sat and talked to the whole time. Some alarm kept going off like a gong which was a bit strange and definitely not relaxing. There really is no real structure or professionalism at this place. It really boils down to the manager being young and inexperienced. She sets the appointments, makes the deals and collects the money. You can't manage what you don't know and it is clear she doesn't know. This was by far the worst nail salon I have ever been in and its sad because it had some potential. Maybe if a real manager, with a license in Cosmetology was running the place and had some really dedicated professional nail techs in the place..it wouldn't be so bad. If you bought a Groupon--My suggestion would be to get your monies worth as soon as you can because I don't see this place staying open for long. read more

I got a manicure and I was not happy because I felt ripped off. The gentleman simply did the following removed my old polish, took the sanding tool to remove my cuticles, smoothed the nail and applied new polish. I watched the clock it took him all of 7 minutes on my manicure. I am accustomed to manicures where your hands are soaked in water, cuticle remover is applied, and your hands are messaged. I felt that I paid $15 for a polish change. However the place is very clean, the ladies are very nice, they offer free eye brow waxing with service and they offer you free jewelry on your way out. I love this salon .. I found it on styleseat.. Julie is my nail technician and she is very thorough and quick .. Her demeanor is always upbeat and never ceases to Amaze me . My feet are a challenge // I run a lot and I am always on my feet so my pedicures are a challenge. When Julie is done my feet or rejuvenated and soft . My pedicure with shellac almost last 3 weeks and my heels are still presentable . The salon is clean relaxing and believer or not ...or not PEACEFUL .. Clients are happy and pleasant so it's easy to take a nap in their comfortable massage chairs. I never heard a complaint . I don't wait long to be serviced. I went today and didn't have the same good experience as my friends did. I live in Pearland and drove a long way to be pampered, but that wasn't how they made me feel. They were rushing and they didn't take off my shellac all the way, but put new shellac on top of the old one, nails weren't filed evenly and smoothly and the shellac was too thick. They weren't friendly; they offered me wine , and when they brought it to me, the glass was dirty, it looked like someone drank out if it and they didn't wash it and just poured more and gave it to me. I won't be coming here again! I'll stick to my spot in Pearland, where they do make you feel that you're being pampered and they take their time with your nails and feet. read more

I don't even know where to start with this review.. this is going to be long FYI.. So I purchased a groupon for my grandmother and I to get a mani/pedi, and we were really excited. The salon itself was pretty nice, a few tables and a few pedicure spas, pretty small but it felt comfortable. Everything at first seemed really clean, key word at first. So when we first arrive the owner came up to us and told us that there was a problem, and that there was only one tech today. She politely asked if it was okay, and although I should of thought of this as a red flag we just said "thats totally fine." The tech was finishing up with her previous appointment while we were choosing colors, and the owner asked if we wanted water or coke. Once I choose my color I sat in the spa chair, the remote control was sticky and felt pretty dirty. They did not use liners in the area where you put your feet, and I watched the tech clean it and she basically used her hand and some alcohol. I tried to just ignore it and enjoy our time there, well it started going really downhill once our mani/pedis started. The tech started with my grandmother, when she was cleaning up her toes she stated that my grandmother had a really bad ingrown nail and that she had to get it removed. The tech then asked my grandmother if she wants her to pull or cut it, my grandmother said I think I rather go to a doctor and have them do it there. Well the tech proceeds to try to pull it out. My grandmother yelps from pain, and asks her nicely to please stop and she will go to the doctor, but the tech keeps going at it. Finally after she tried like 5 times to get her ingrown nail my grandmother tells her she is really in pain and she would really like her to stop. The tech says okay, and keeps going on with her pedicure. Once she is done with her pedicure, she starts working on my toes. Then things get even WORSE.. So first of all she is all over the place, using the same tools for me and my grandmother, continues to use the towels that have gotten really wet and have lotion and skin all over them, switching from working on my toes to my grandmas hands off and on. A total MESS.. Well then we start talking, I had told her that I got back surgery and she goes "so like what medication are you on?".... ummm last time I checked you should never ask a customer what medication they take. And then she started telling me that her friend had back surgery and took this and that, and that she had her wisdom teeth removed and had to get oxy and told us the whole story with that. And then she tells us that the reason no other techs are there is because they are "asian" and basically they all make each other cry, no joke thats what she said. And then she stated that she is bulimic, and doesn't eat, so since they are "asian" they all think something is wrong with her. I am not one to bash someone on the internet, but come on!! It was just completely not right, and made us feel so uncomfortable! Getting a mani/pedi is suppose to be a great relaxing experience, and this was basically a nightmare. And to top it off she is a terrible nail technician, although my nails turned out okay, my grandmas nails look worse than when I paint my own nails (which is pretty bad). So to sum it all up, the salon itself was cute, the tech was nuts, and we ended up wasting 3 hours of our life. I am pretty upset to say the least. I honestly feel bad for that girl, and hope she gets some help. Sorry Magic Spa & Nails, but I wont be coming back. read more

Just left the place after Shellac Mani/Pedi. Pretty bad experience. The pedicure was 20 minutes, TOPS. I could have done a better job, as the tech cut me and did a 15 second massage but more importantly, my nails are not polished on the sides and edges. Shellac mani took FOREVER; she was so slow and I had to hold my hands up the entire time. I told the tech my nails were rough after she filed but she did not understand, so I filed them myself when I got home. The tips of my nails are not covered and she some how bonded the shellac to some of my skin, plus I have the shellac polish on my fingers. Super disappointing and not relaxing. read more

My friend and I visited this nail salon using a Groupon deal ($65 worth of mani-pedi). The customer service was excellent from scheduling an appointment through the day of the service. We had trouble finding the salon as it was hidden in a plaza. There were only 2 technicians on the Wednesday we were there. Even though there was a line of customers waiting our technicians still took time to take care of us. The salon was not fancy but clean, prices were competitive and beverages were included (red wine, soda & water). Will definitely return if I am in the area. read more

I rated a one star because 0 wasn't an option! I really wanted to love the place, they're affordable & my nails came out really well. From the second I walked in, it was obvious the manager didn't have people skills with the customers or employees. Fast forward to the end when the owner authorized the manager to fire Julie (who was very kind & helpful to us), after getting customer feedback that the issue was the manager!!! The owner comes to the salon and it's clear that she doesn't care who's right or wrong, doesn't care what her customers are telling her about their experience with the manager, she has her favorite picked out and that's it. This salon don't deserve a penny of anyone's money, & I've never been so disappointed by lack of customer service in my entire life! Very unprofessional. Went today will never go back. This was my second trip there the first one was awesome. Today my nail techs friend was getting her nails done from another tech but my tech constantly laughed talked looked at them instead of servicing me. She skipped a nail when doing cuticles I had to tell her . When she finished polish was everywhere I pointed it out she did nothing so I let it go because I knew I would show the nice owner and it would be fixed. I showed owner she called tech that kept looking and asking me what's wrong. I showed her the polish everywhere (also my nails are not filed properly either ) she told me to go to back and wash and scrub them it would be fine. I got the shellac with classic pedicure which I did not receive the services listed like the warm towel because they only wanted to sell up services.
