I came to Nails by Ann late last year because my friend was complaining his pedicure costed too much. I looked around and found this one next to my mailbox. I kept looking at the sign $20 pedicure. First and last time here. Where do I start?? I came in on a Sunday afternoon looking to get my acrylics taken off and a new set put on. I wanted to find a salon closer to home so I stopped by nails by Ann as it was only a short drive down the street from my house. When I came in there were multiple ladies already getting nails done so I had high hopes. The lady assigned to doing my nails seemed very nice, she sat me down and asked if I wanted water and went to the back to get some supplies. When she came back she places a dirty yellow towel on the table. Stained with paint, black specks and who knows what else, it was disgusting. I don't know why I didn't even say anything at that point. She started cutting my old nails off, and then started using a fake nail to slide under my fake nails to RIP them off. I've been getting acrylics a long time. You need to soak them in acetone before anything else or you could ruin the real nail. She then decided that was the decision when she couldn't get my nails off. Left me soaking my fingers for more than 20 minutes while she left me alone. Fine whatever. She comes back and I'm explaining to her what I wanted (see first picture attached) I told her I wanted clear powder with a nude paint on top and red paint to line the nail. She was not understanding. A different nail tech turned around and snapped at me "we don't have that color." I explained to him that I wanted clear powder and not nude powder. He then explained to my nail tech and she finally got the necessary colors. Now it's time to glue on the new fake tips. First nail, pinky, she accidentally glued on 2 tips stuck together. When I told her, she laughed and started trying to rip it off... again. Mind you I've already been here over an hour and all we've done it take off old nails. After that was handled I told her I wanted them short but not very short. I told her I wanted them exactly as I had them when I came in, so she already saw the length I previously had. She cuts them so short and is contorting my pinky and my thumb to see if they're the same length (see picture 2)(picture 3 is what she calls short but not very short with varying lengths). And I told her they were too short and she ignored me. While doing the acrylic, I noticed black specks going on my nails that must've been in the clear powder. She has two eyes, why didn't she scrape it off ? It wasn't until I said something that she said "oh okay I'll fix it, the powder is dirty." What??? The powder is dirty and you're using it on my nails. ( picture 4 has a pink speck still in my nail). At this point I've had enough, I want to leave and she's almost done with just the clear powder. When a man comes over and asks me "cash or card today?" I thought it was rude that They haven't finished my nails and wanted me to pay. He continued standing there until I grabbed my card awkwardly because she's still trying to do my nails. That when I said I wanted to leave after the clear powder was done. He said "no, no you stay, but you pay now" and I said "no, I'd like to leave." He asked me why and honestly I didn't care to elaborate, I just wanted to leave. I had to sign the receipt while she's still holding my other hand finishing my nails. I tipped $5 because the lady doing my nails was nice and not everything was her fault. The guy comes back to snatch the receipt and said "she left you $5." How awkward. When she finished the clear powder I had been there more than 2 hours without receiving what I really wanted. Never would I come here again, nor recommend to anyone. Please stick with your go to salon. read more

My shellac manicure had grown out to reveal a third of my nail, making me an embarrassment in the workplace. Nails by Ann was a discovery made upon necessity. Cheap? Check. Availability? Check. Nearby? Check. Good reviews on Yelp? Check. Mostly non-English speaking? Not at all a necessity, but CHECK! Upon entering, I knew that this place would not have the most top notch equipment, nor meet an American standard of hospitality or cleanliness. The low price of $25 for a regular mani-pedi made it hard to scrutinize. The employees were sitting, eating pho, and as I walked up I was met with a slurry of Vietnamese (which I don't speak). Yet another Vietnamese run establishment deceived by my Vietnamese appearance. They quickly tended to me, apologizing for the confusion, and got work on my shellac manicure and french tipped toes. Anna had my hands and her husband, Henry, had my feet. Despite the language barrier, I really enjoyed my conversation with both of them, laughing much more than I'd anticipated I would. Both Anna and Henry were quite fast, and they do quality work. Anna helped me pick the right shade of grey for my manicure, applying 3 coats of paint to ensure opacity. Since being serviced on 6/18 I notice some very slight imperfections in the shape of my nails (most likely due to my OCD). My french tipped toes look awesome and I'm trying hard to rock the squ-oval. The work cost me $53 because I chose a deluxe pedicure, shellac mani, and french tip pedi. So far no casualties on my digits or little piggies - no chips and several compliments on the good work. If you're low on cash and in the area, this is definitely a great place to try out. I wouldn't recommend coming for spa service or relaxation, but their nail services are on point. It doesn't matter what language you speak - everyone understands the universal language of beauty - and I'm pretty sure Anna and Henry know how to speak that fluently. read more

I started coming to Nails By Ann about a year ago and haven't gone ANYWHERE else since! It was found when my boyfriend wanted to treat me to a mani/pedi day. The area where it's at is currently going under construction so the entire strip does look a little rough. They have their pedicure spa chairs lined up against the right wall and a waiting area on the left side. The first time I had came in I was in need of a pedicure with ALL the works and a new set of powdered nails and, let's just say, I was hooked since then. I always get my nails done by Anna and my pedi by either her husband or mother-in-law. Anna is a nail GENIIUS!!
