This is an oldie but goodie nail salon that I use to visit all the time when I lived near the Westchase area. I was on my way to the west side to visit family and friends after church. Yelped salons in the area and still saw that Ann had some pretty good reviews, so I dropped by. Sundays are usually slow days at salons, but this place was packed with patrons. Nevertheless, I was waited on right away after choosing my nail polish (surprisingly I wasn't indecisive on that day and found what I was looking for). BTW: They have quite a few polishes like OPI and China Glaze. Today's pick was a warm pink color by Essie. The end result was magnificent for my feet, but it took over two hours to get there! Why 2 hours? Well, a sister's feet were busted and disgusted--hadn't had a warm day to get a pedicure since last year (October or November comes to mind)! I needed the works! I love that I can choose my add-ons versus getting a packaged deal. For example, the base price for the pedicure is $15, but there are four other services that you can add on for $5 each: hot stone, callus remover, hot towel, and the paraffin. I desperately needed the callous remover; I splurged and requested the hot stone and paraffin to relieve my aching feet and leave the shop with baby bottom smooth heels. The $30 was worth the treatment, but when it was time to put my shoes on (which were open toe, the pedicurist scraped the polish off both of my baby toes. Should I have told her to put my sandals on before polishing? Probably, but I'm not going to tell someone how to do their job. As a result, she polished them again, which added more drying time to my visit. When I finally got tired of sitting, I decided to admire my beautiful feet, but noticed that there was a ridge of paint from the old polish. I felt slighted because my toe does not face upward but to the side (Yes, you can laugh at that)! Unless I make a conscious effort to turn my foot to the side, I cannot see the workmanship of a pedicure on this toe. But you know me--I'm going to check! Lo and behold when I saw this flaw, I called the pedicurist over again to fix the polish. She attempted again to paint over it, but it still was off. I told her to do it over again completely, which was even more time added to make sure it dried before I left--especially since it was the late afternoon. Once the sun comes down the temperature drops, so I knew I'd eventually have to put my closed toe shoes back on. Wanted to make sure my pedi was dry before I left. All in all, clean shop, great selection of polishes, price is right, but between the pedicurist taking away an hour of my time with silly mishaps and the massage chair being a little rough, this place is average--gives you what you need without breaking one's budget. read more

This was an experience that started off ok , but ended on a very disappointing note, I called ahead of time to ask about 2 mani + pedi. Walked in and reiterated 2 mani + pedi. The nail tech started on my pedi which took a little long and resulted in a small stingy scrape on my ancle but moving on only to find out she had no intention of doing my mani , claiming I told her i didnt need my nails done (huh?) . If I could give this place zero stars I would trust me. So I got to the salon this morning at around 10 am and there was only one lady getting her nails done and the workers were just sitting around. Took a few moments for me to even be acknowledged then then I told them I wanted a shellac manicure so they handed me the colors to choose from and we went on from there. So the lady did the "manicure" part of my nails and then called a guy to file and place the shellac. Well the guy started filing and it seems like he had never filed nails before I wanted them squared and they ended up being filed to a 'U' like shape. I kindly asked him to file them squared because he had filed them weird and he just didn't understand what I was saying. I literally had to grab the file and do it MYSELF.. so after that he went on to apply and I saw that the shellac they use is the cheaper version that literally seems to be like regular polish. I asked him why it was so thin and he didn't even understand what I was saying. At the end I went to pay and told the kind guy at the front my concern of how thin the "shellac" was and he said it'll last but the whole point of me getting shellac is for my nails to be harder without having to put acrylic. I've gotten shellac manicure plenty of times before to know what to expect. At most other places you get a hand massage after your manicure and everything but here all you get is disappointment. You pay $30 for a HORRIBLE "shellac manicure" and terrible service. If you're going to get a shellac manicureI recommend y'all just find any other place. You may end up walking out of here full of disappointment like I did. read more

I was pressed for time so I got the $15 pedicure which didn't include them scrubbing my feet (with the cheese grater looking thing) and asked for gel polish which at othe salons is usually $5-10 extra...THEY CHARGED AN EXTRA $20 Just for gel polish. Come here to get your eyebrows waxed for $5. They do a great job. As far as nails, this isn't a bad option if you're just looking for something quick and cheap. I can't remember the exact pricing for everything, but a pedicure for $15? You can't beat that. You get what you pay for, though. I got a full set with powder/shellac and the basic pedicure with a $5 callus remover. My entire visit seemed extremely rushed, none of the technicians truly took the time to do a good job. The guy doing my nails was rough and cut my finger. My nails came out way too thick and artificial looking. (For $45, you'd expect MUCH better.) My sister got a regular shellac manicure and even that didn't turn out well. The people here are nice, and they work quickly. I wouldn't ever come back here to get my nails done again. Don't let the price fool you!! I know they are always crowded somehow and are very friendly but don't do it to yourself. I went here a day before I left for my cruise. As soon as I walked in they greeted me which was nice. A dude named Vu (I believe) started to file my nail bed. I chose my color and he began to work...very fast. I am used to getting my nails done and am very picky because I do not want to damage my nails or anything. So he started applying the set very fast, didn't even file the powder down to make sure it was even. I was finished within 25 minutes...I couldn't believe it! I am used to people taking their time and having pride in their work. So I paid and left. I couldn't be picky because of the cheap price ($35) and that it was last minute. Fast forward to the Bahamas and my nails are lifting..I figure the problem is the water. Being in the water does this to anyone's nails. Once I get back to Texas I go for a refill..this dude..I don't know is his name(he sits on the left near the door) is even worse!!! He begins to rush, filling like a maniac and cut my finger!! Then he didn't even try to give me tissue for the blood. It wasn't a lot of blood but I still had a cut. So once he finished his hack job..I was displeased. It lasted for about 15 minutes. I noticed one nail was skinnier that the others (the middle) and he said "it's because I just replaced it" but...I was talking about the shape. Whatever I paid gave him his tip and left. Two days later I'm driving and my nail breaks! I went back for them to fix my nail and the guy who sits directly in the front literally RIPPED my acrylic off! It was just applied so my actual nail was partially ripped off as well. I was telling him it hurt but he didn't give a darn. He fixed it and it was shaped horrible of course. No pride in their work. I'm finally fed up and trying to get the nails off weeks later...when I soak them they will not gel up..so unless this acetone is water...they aren't using safe products. Acrylic should NEVER do what it did. I am warning you to save yourself. Maybe the other people don't know any better but this isn't what anyone should be paying for. read more

The decor was very very nice ... they had plenty of colors to choose from for shellac or powder whatever u wanted which was a bonus . I'm so happy to found this place. I just moved here from CA and nervous about going to a new nail store. I have really sensitive cuticle and bleed really easily. I have been to the same salon in CA for years, b/c every time I try some where new one or two of my cuticle end up bleeding. My friend took me to this place. I was very nervous and just wanted my brow done and not my nails. I was so impressed with the brow job. He was very fast and precise. I decided to try my first pedi and mani in Houston. I love this place and recommend it to everyone . Everytime I go they have a space available. They attend you really fast . I only ever get acrylics so that's the only thing I know . First time I went was to get my nails done for prom a year ago and I was anticipating to be there an hour or more because of the other places I had been to but they do not take more than 45 minutes...of course I don't get anything too extravagant so that might have to do with it . I've actually become a regular here. I've always gotten my nails done at a different shop each time but I love this place. The head honcho guy, I believe, is super nice. And he's pretty good at doing eyebrows for me and my bf. He can get pretty sarcastic to demanding guests but hell, I would too. They get pretty busy, but they're always finding ways to switch workers around so the wait time is shortened. Prices are decent. I normally just get a full set that's either 15..or 17..I forget. When I get stiletto, it's 25 and they automatically use solar powder. Oh the other guy that works there is real popular. He's always getting requested. Him and his wife. I think his name is Brian..or Ryan..and his wife is the super skinny chick with short hair. The pedicure prices are decent too. I rarely get my toes done because it's Houston and we just had like a year long winter -_- but you can always add stuff to the basic pedicure that's 15 for 5 dollars extra each added service. I would say to get over the awkward first time and you'll love it. ALSO, don't come in rude cause I guarantee you they'll start talking about you. But then again, that's all nail salons :P read more

I came in and asked for Anna, but Henry sat me with 2 females (Neither of them was Anna). The lady who gave me a pedicure was alright. The lady who did my manicure was just pretty horrible. She was too rough cutting my cuticles(pulling them before allowing herself to fully cut it) and she went to deep (left me with a cut). Then I had nail polish in places other than my nail bed. Was not pleased at all, Henry ended up cleaning the polish that was on my fingers and knuckles but I didn't appreciate him lying to me about sitting me with Anna. He tells me afterwards when I paid at the register that Anna was with somebody at the moment. So he clearly just wanted to sit me with whoever so I wouldn't turn their services down hecause I for sure was going to. Never again I knlw that as much. read more

I went back for a regular manicure this time. I walked in on a late Saturday morning and only waited about two minutes before he started on my nails. They look great! And I'm really rough on my nails so he really had to work hard to cut away all the gross dry hard skin. The nail polish selection is mostly OPI, which is nice, but it seemed the color selection was limited. Mostly dark reds and greens, with an orange thrown in there (only a few pink, even!) I was looking for a minty/sea foam green because I left mine at home and couldn't find it. So if you like odd or non-traditional colors, bring your own. The place is a decent size inside. Someone was having fake eye lashes put in while I was there, and a couple of women were getting pedicures. I don't do pedicures so I can't comment on it. My manicure was only $10, which was a nice surprise. My old place charges twice that (but they do a good job, it just takes FOREVER, which is why I started coming here). read more
