Despite how busy it was, I was seated a little before my scheduled time and was warmly greeted with an offer of a drink. Kate was so gentle and attentive, which I really appreciated since it was my first time getting Gel-X nails. Literally obsessed with Trish's work (really everyone here is amazing). I've seen Trish twice and she is dedicated to detail. I got a Gel X set my first time (pink with doodles, $95 with a discount) and Builder Gel my second (green cat eye ombre, $70). The shop really cares about their artists. They also have online booking through their instagram so booking an appointment is super convenient!! Okay so this place was okay. I loved that my tech (Minh) didn't try and talk to me Lolol but others might not like that. Complaints: homie seemed like he was in a rush which was kinda annoying only bc I had a nail that needed a tip and unfortunately when he was doing the builder gel he didn't make sure the shape was good so now it's flat which makes my big hands look even bigger. I got this dark glitter polish which I love, but in the sun you can see the uneven coats. I feel like it might have been better if I had a different person perhaps? But also am I willing to chance another $60 to find out? Maybe not. The place was clean and they do offer complimentary drinks and snacks, I didn't partake, but Vietnamese coffee was one of the options! I came here since it was under new ownership/management. The place looks completely updated and the service is definitely awesome! The cleanliness of the shop was the main factor that stood out to me. Not even a single trimmed nail on the floor, and there was always people cleaning. This is very important during COVID times. They've also taken extra measurements to disinfect/sanitize each station after each client, even if the station was not used. I've been told that everyday they wipe down each and every nail polish bottle. Wow. There's a bunch of colors. I love that everyone works like a team here, if a tech needs help another is willing to assist. The nail arts are some of the best I've seen in the entire Katy area. All of the staff were very sweet. The manager told me to come back during Valentines Day for complimentary Moscato/Rosé so I will definitely be back soon! I love that they use tub liners. Well, I wasn't sure what I exactly wanted my nails to look like but Rafaela picked wonderful colors for me. I have been here twice. Both times I've had to wait past my appointment time for my service to actually start. First time, I came for birthday nails from a specific nail tech. That nail tech was running late because the client before me was running late. Someone else ended up taking off my old set and the nail tech I booked did the new set. 30+ minutes late and many miscommunications on their part so I was very frustrated but pleased with the final result. The second time I went, they asked me to move my appointment time to about 45 minutes later. I agreed and my service didn't start until 15+ minutes after the new appointment time. Also the pedicure tub had a rusty/dirty drain. They put a plastic liner of course but still not what I prefer to see. I appreciate their customer service, attention to detail and hope they figure out a solution to honor appointment times better. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. Hands down the worst manicure I've ever gotten in my entire life. It was not clean by any means. They used the SAME nail files and nail buffers from past clients. The nail was so worn it was white and the nail buffer was LITERALLY falling apart. My nail tech didn't even bother to clean my cuticles. Her idea was to push them around and not clean out the dead skin. She also FORGOT to paint one nail. I had to ask her to paint it. She also thought that 2 coats of paint where you can see the lines were okay.... I had to ask for another. Also they used the WORST smelling lotion on your hands, legit smells like a dump truck. They charged me 26 bucks for a basic mani and it was terrible. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Even though this nail salon is next to a high school it is normally not packed and easy to walk in or schedule an appointment day of. DO NOT COME HERE! You have been warned! This butcher shop is by far the absolute worse experience of my life. It deserves a negative rating because: 1. When first stepping in their salon I was slapped in the face with the stench of sewer smells and Chinese food you forgot in the fridge from a week ago. 2. It was disgustingly filthy everywhere I looked. Nail clippings and skin all over the floor. The files they used on me were worn out had several different color polish stuck to it and the little orange cubes were ripped up and partly wet, obviously used over and over and over. The metal tools weren't even in bags, they literally picked it up and I kid you not I saw the employee wash it out in dirty pedicure water! Are you serious?! 3. Everyone was so rude, short, and abrasive trying to up-sell CONSTANTLY! Oh and did I mention obnoxiously LOUD! 4. The pedicure was absolutely agonizing, completely painful, so much so that my toes were raw and bleeding. The Shellac was globs and lumps, and when I left and chunk of it ripped off and it was still runny and sticky underneath. 5. The employees were loudly yelling all over the place hopping in chairs right next to me even though the rest of the salon was empty. It's no wonder they were completely dead. With a miserable job they had the audacity to ask me "how much you tip me?!" before I even got the last coat on my nails. I could go on and on about the really old run down equipment, and how nasty it is or what a nightmare it was, but most importantly I got a staph infection! I am in complete and utter disbelief that this place is still in business. I keep trying to upload a copy of my lab results but it isn't showing up so I'm not sure what I'm doing incorrectly but hopefully I'll be able to get it posted so everyone can see what I'm talking about. read more

I wanted to try a new nail salon and was excited to go to a new place after my 3 year stint at Q nails in River Oaks. I picked the basic pedi and wanted to upgrade to Shellac because I believe it lasts a lot longer. I have had these before and it is typically a $5-10 upcharge. The whole time I was getting my nails done the service tech kept asking me (while I was on a work conference call) if I would like extra services. Every few minutes I would be enterupted by being asked- extra massage time? eyebrows wax? Hot stone? Hot wax? neck massage? I was pressed for time so I continually kept saying no. When I went to pay my bill it was almost $50. I was a little shocked by this so I asked to see the list of pricing to make sure I didn't miss something. When I questioned the lady at checkout my nail tech rushed over and asked if there was a problem. I explained that I had picked the basic pedicure for $28 and was confused as to why my bill was so high. Since there was no listed price for a Shellac add on the tech told me that it is a $20 charge for the difference between regular polish and Shellac. You and I both know that this is completely impossible. No salon is charging $20 extra dollars for Shellac especially for a pedicure. The sad things is I liked the service and the atmosphere and the salon and before I paid I planned to make this my new place to get my nails done. After the mishap with the overcharge I just can't make this my go to place. I appreciate honesty and this place blatantly took advantage of me. I do believe if the owner or manager would have been there they would have set it right. Who knows how many other first time wanna be repeat customers they have lost due to their scamming employees. On top of all of this I accidentally left my sunglasses there and called about an hour later because I was going to go back by and get them and they said that there were no sunglasses left behind. You know me....always up for trying a new place when I need a pedicure so a quick search on Yelp had me headed to DC&N. From the outside the place looks really cheesy & cheap with tons of neon in the window & the blinds were all down but I figured that was because they faced West & well we all know how horrid the Texas sun can be, especially during summer. Upon entering I noticed the place was very busy & very clean. I was greeted, my name taken & pointed in the direction of the nail polish which was tucked in a corner which makes it very crowded if more than one person is looking at the display (I was unfortunate to be behind 2 teens as they chatted, looked & couldn't make up their mind on which shade they wanted). I picked my color (all of 2 seconds) and headed to a spa chair. I got the technician switcheroo after a minute or two. The lady who started on my feet had an appointment so some dude stepped in to finish, or begin. He asked if I would like extra time on the foot massage, which I agreed to. And I am glad I did! Since starting work my feet have been s-o-r-e by the end of the day so the massage felt very nice. He did an above average with the rest of the pedicure & polish. While I liked my experience, there really wasn't anything that wowed me except for the additional time on the foot massage (which they charge extra for). For now I will say I like this place enough to try again. read more
