Years ago, I would come to this nail salon every 2 weeks or so since I worked nearby. I decided that it has been a long time since I went there and I used to love the service. I drove over an hour 1 way to go here. Signing in was easy but when I sat down with my nail tech, he didn't offer any water or anything. Just started working on my nails which is fine. He did a decent job. By the time I drove home and took a shower the gel was coming off. I doubt he even put gel on if it came off that fast! I was charged $45 dollars for nails to come off within a few hours and I tipped $10. Now I have to go to my normal nail tech near me and see how much she will charge to fix someone else's work. The quality has gone downhill. Normally people will ask if you want something to drink or have quality products that don't come off right away. It was a lesson learned though. read more

I am not in love with then nail salon I have been frequenting because of proximity to my apartment. I was in the Memorial City area and in need of a pedi. Yelp reviews made me feel good that this would be a solid choice. I loved the layout. The entrance is separated by a door to the actual salon and a hostess. This was refreshing instead of someone yelling at me from serving a another guest telling me to pick a color. The salon is dimly lit but I liked the intimate feel. It was very quiet, the techs did not constantly talk to each other while serving customers. I was seated right away. It did take a while for my nail tech to get started but it was worth the wait. The quality of the pedicure was great, I did not feel rushed and my nail tech interacted with me throughout and constantly offered refills of wine. I wanted 3 nail colors and asked her to surprise me with the pattern. She didn't hesitate, and did her own thing. I appreciated the artistry. :) I got a deluxe spa pedi, comes with 8 min massage, hot stone and hot wax for $47. read more

Located in Bunker Hill in the same shopping center as HEB and Nordstrom. I've been here once before with a few friends of mine and decided to bring my family that was visiting from LA to get the Texas Pedicure experience. Because of COVID-19, the salon is taking extra safety precautions (as they should) before entering the salon area. Your temperature will be checked and you are asked to answer a questionnaire at their check-in kiosk they've provided with tablets. We both received classic pedicures while my cousin opted in for gel coatings on her pedicure. Both of the nail technicians assisting us were very helpful and did a great job with our service. I received an eyebrow wax which I was very happy with and my cousin ended up requesting for more services like eyebrow tinting and also eyelash perming. Both of us were very happy overall. They definitely gave us the VIP treatment and we will definitely be back soon. read more

They charge you for nail tips, gel polish, and the nail shape even if you don't get almond or etc. I got very short nails with gel and paid $78 for it. I've never paid that much for short nails with no design before. The nails didn't even last a week before minor issues with the gel started occurring I won't be returning. Update: I went to a nail salon less than 10 minutes away and got a longer length and a design and paid $55 there are better options than this salon. I came in here on a Friday bc I was in the area. I asked for a pedicure with no polish change bc my shellac was still in good shape from my last pedicure. They charged me the full $47 regardless. The pedicurist barely spent any time on the hot stone massage, callous removal, and leg scrub. This was by far one of the weakest pedicures I've ever received. Considering how much time they saved on having to change my color/shellac, you'd think they'd put more effort in the actual pedicure. The water wasn't even warm and they barely let me soak. Not relaxing at all. Additionally, I asked for only a shellac change on my nails (no full manicure)... they charged me $28 for that. I asked the manicurist to please not file my nails too thinly when removing the shellac, but unfortunately she did and 2 of my nails broke the next day. Also by Monday my shellac had already chipped on my pinky finger. I'm happy to pay premium prices for premium service, but this was definitely not worth the $75 I was charged for my visit. this is by far the worst nail salon I've ever been to! I came in because I was soaking off acrylic, my nails were extremely healthy when I did my nails with another nail artist who is independent. First the lady Taylor tried to take my nail off with a fake nail therefore damaging my nail. Whenever I stopped her she said this was the only way to do it, I've also been doing my own nails for a really long time. When I told her that that's not the way that I wanted her to do them because I wanted to save my nails underneath she then proceeded to file my nails paper thin. it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had my nails were so healthy underneath before we did them and now they are terrible. read more

Last Friday I came to the conclusion that it had been way too long since me and my mom had our last pedicure. I was near this shop and thought I would check it out. So glad I did. Let me begin by saying this was an amazing nail salon experience. From the moment you step into the salon you are greeted. You are then asked to sign in and you have your temperature taken (touchless). Hand sanitizer is at the front. You are also passed a pair of rubber gloves so your bare hands are not touching your color selections. You and all all staff are required to have a mask. They do a great job of keeping you socially distanced from other customers. Needless to say it seems pretty safe. The salon is spotless which is important to me. Amy did an amazing job on my pedicure....my heals are baby soft and moisturized. I won't wait so long next time. Amy also tinted my eyebrows which I loved. I just wanted to try it. Nen did my mom's manicure and Chan did her pedicure. My mom has sensitive feet and Chan was very gentle with her. I highly recommend this salon. read more

The aesthetic is stunning but the service is so inconsistent. There are a lot of wonderful staff members and a lot of very lazy ones. Literally lazy. I once had a lady give me a 15 minute massage and ended the massage early because it was so terrible. On the other hand, the reason why I got this one was because prior, I had the most wonderful neck massage by the hands of someone else. I paid full price for a manicure and pedicure for my engagement, told them it was my engagement and I didn't get any polish. I asked them to buff my nails to shine and my manicurist was done in 15 minutes, left so so so much of my cuticles half cut and dead skin all over the side of my finger nails. When I asked her to rebuff one of my nails that wasn't shiny, she said she already buffed them so much and did not do more. The lady who did my pedicure was lovely. She was kind and did a great job and when she saw me staring at my cuticles she asked, I showed her, she called the other girl back to fix it. I don't go to get my nails done often and the fact that I didn't even get polish or a clear coat meant that hardly anything really was done at all. My manicurist used such little lotion on me it was pathetic. I got a mani pedi overseas two weeks later and my feet and hands look beautiful. Nails shining so much more, my feet and hands feeling so moisturized weeks after. While my feet were rough the following day. The treatment is below average and aside from the location and aesthetic, there is no other draw. read more

I always try to find time to get my nails done when I can and when I do I go to what's most convenient for me. Judging by the reviews and ratings, maybe I should have asked for the technicians that were hi-lighted on the comments. I called ahead of time to see if there were availabilities and what the cost was. It was 48 for the dipping and to take it off which is more than I usually would pay. I caved in and just went ahead and got it done because my nails were calling for help. Atmosphere was nice, they let you sit in the massage chairs even if you're just getting your hands done. They offer heated eggs for your neck. (I think that's what she said). Everything was going well, I showed my technician (Nancy) length I wanted, and towards the end my nails kept getting files shorter and shorter, the cuticle were so thick, she wasn't shaving them down evenly. I pointed out several nails, some were squared edges and some were square round. She ended up asking someone else to finish me off. I sat there for 2 hours and I ended up just saying it's fine they're still different lengths but I had to go! ‍ read more

The decor in this salon is so regal. I loved the dip manicure Doni did on me. She was so gentle and made sure that everything was to my liking throughout the service. I will be definitely booking with her again. You have to check in and they take your temperature. I loved that you have to be escorted in through a door. It almost felt exclusive! There were plenty of pedicure massage chairs. They lost a star from me because the parking lot is kind of chaotic given that it is in the same shopping center as HEB. I also only saw one manicure station and it is very close to the pedicure chairs because the salon is narrow. I don't get my nails done often and wanted to try a new place. I like having short nails and never thought I'd be able to have custom designed art on them. I came in with some pictures and ideas in mind for a Christmas theme. Spoke to the nail tech, showed some pics of what I wanted, and she brainstormed a few ideas and y'all she did a FANTASTIC JOB!! I moved into the Memorial City area last year and was always hesitant on a nail salon. BOY I regret taking so long to find this place! I called in last min for a mani pedi and they were able to get me in within 30 mins. The salon was clean and nice. All employees were wearing masks and gloves. Each chair had plastic wrap and was changed after each person. Edna did my mani and Katie did my pedi. Both are very sweet ladies and they are good at what they do. They both took their time and made sure I was good with the nail shape, length, and polish color. My mani I got gel French tips and Edna had such steady hands I was shook (see attached photo). Today I went again and got the 2nd tier pedi package which is deluxe. This one was way better than the first one. The lady spent real time and care doing her massages unlike the first person. What I didn't like was clipping my toe nail too close to the meat part that it's hurts. It still hurts now and it's been hours later. Unsure if I'll give them another chance. I got matte shellac done and my tech was friendly. I told her not to cut my cuticles and to just push them, but she cut them anyway even when I reminded her not to. Overall, my experience was okay. My matte nails were not entirely matte, but a mixture of polish and matte. I liked that my nails didn't have a thick layer, but there were scratches on them and some parts were uneven. I thought I'd give Soho a try since it has a 4.5-star average and is significantly closer than my usual nail spot. I opted for dip powder as it tends to leave my already thin nails stronger than shellac. My nail tech Amy and I joked about how I found Soho through Yelp, but "no pressure" because I rarely write reviews unless there's a compelling reason to. Well...this is one of those occasions. Amy removed my cuticle using a nail bit, without pushing my cuticles first. I thought it was a bit odd, but it didn't hurt so I didn't think much of it. I noticed that she applied 3 coats of the colored powder, when I usually only get 2 coats. I figured she was going to liberally file at the end, so no reason to be alarmed yet. As expected, she spent a good amount of time filing my nails with a nail bit, including working on my cuticles again - this time, the filing burned my skin and I instinctively pulled my hand away from the pain. In the dim, yellow light of the salon, my nails seemed fine, but when I got outside into natural lighting I was taken aback. My nails were big and bulky, and the edges of the powder were uneven and spilling over onto my cuticles. I'd find out later that night that the nail bit she used to clean my cuticles not once, but twice, CUT ME in several places. Today, I am left with tiny scabs and hangnails in several places, and I'm already ready to have my dip powder removed, only 3 days after my appointment. read more

I usually go to Retreat nails but they didn't have any times available so I went here instead. It's kind of a tight fit in there and the table was small but still nice. Amy did my nails and she did so great! She was so nice. I wanted to do a design and she suggested the gold foil. I was given a hot neck warmer that was pretty relaxing and smelt of oatmeal. I kind of wish I was given a small hand massage or offered one for an up charge. I paid about $60 and that included the nail design and tip for the refill service. They participate in Five Stars, so will send an offer every now and then.
