My first visit to Your Nails Bestfriend was wonderful! I was referred to the salon by my niece and I'm so happy she did. She also recommended me to have BIAB (Builder in A Bottle) service done. This service is a gel polish that is applied as an overlay on your natural nails. Making an appointment was easy peasy. You can go to their website and make an appointment, text, or call. I opted to make the appointment online. They will text & call to confirm your appointment. I live a bit far from the salon, but it is definitely closer from my job. I think next time I will make an appointment after work on the weekday. I arrived on Sunday, the salon just open so there was not a lot of traffic going in and out. What I love about this salon was it was quiet; the salon is much smaller than the franchise nail salons. The salon played soft melody music and offered complimentary beverages. My nail tech was very professional while working on my nails. I asked questions about BIAB before getting started since it was my first time with the service and my first time at the salon. I wanted to wait a week or two before writing this review to see if my nails are intact. My nails are still looking fresh and are still shiny from being a little over a week old. I would like to clarify that I was not offered a service redo at the moment when I expressed, I was not happy The man handed me a five dollar coupon for my next visit. I am not a liar. I'm telling you the technician didn't even put a base coat on my nails. I was forced to change my design due to the time constraints. After two hours, I was still simply left with a basic half done set. I have not publicly accused you of anything. I simply left a comment to reach out to me on your Instagram. Therefore, you decided that was inappropriate of me and blocked me. I have called your business and yo have blocked me as well the phone. I paid for a service that was not well executed regardless of my expectations. Yes, I am particular, but I am also not looking for a fancy set. Therefore, after two hours, my nails should be perfect. You did not provide a full service by not doing a base coat and fully curing my nails so fixing one nail would not fix my problem. I find it extremely unprofessional of how you did not even speak to me on the phone and after several calls. I was the one who was disrespected by Julie. Technicians aren't perfect. Chelsea was not available but so I was booked with Steven. When you make the appointment, you specify exactly what you need, I needed a gel builder refill, cuticle trim and 30 minute design. I showed Steven I wanted a red French. The service was supposed to be 1.5 hours for everything. At 1.5 hours, my nails weren't even remotely done let alone a design. I told him I did not have time for French since I was already running behind. So I didn't get a base coat and a quick nail polish job. I was in the chair for 2 hours. The tech knew I wasn't happy. The male receptionist asked how everything was and I told him I wasn't happy. He didn't care. He didn't apologize nor offer to fix. I called the next day and spoke to Julie. Wow, she's miserable, her voice was monotone and uninterested. I told her my experience, I told her I wanted to speak to either the owner or manager. He's "not available". Julie called me back. Said I could come in to fix the "one nail". I said. You want me to drive 40 mins to fix 1 nail when I didn't get anything I had requested? She said there was nothing else she could do. I asked again for the manager and still " unable to get a hold of". I waited all day for a call and around 6 pm I called back. The manager was "with another client". I messaged their IG and left a comment. Who ever manages it, deleted my comment and blocked me from their profile. So now I am being ignored. I have NEVER had a business treat me so disposable. I would have given them another shot but their lack of customer service and pettiness of blocking me after leaving a comment to contact me says enough about them. Do your self a favor and don't even bother coming here. If you aren't happy with them, even if it's their fault, they will block you and not call you back. I was looking forward to a good service and I was disappointed. To start off they cut the back of my heel during my pedicure and my nail technician for my manicure, Chelsea, left the salon to go home before my nails were done. She didn't do the top coat right. She claimed that she has not used/done the top coat in two years so she was not sure how it would go. I had to stay at the salon for another 30 minutes if not longer, while two male nail technicians came over and redid my whole top coat. they filed, drilled, and redid it, they were great. At the end, the front lady apologized for the mistake but no discount was given. I paid $100 to be cut and my nail service redone because my technician left before her client was even done. I visited this place twice and both times turns out great. My first time doing Gelx but I like it since it lasts me for 4 weeks without being chips or faded. My newest set with hand drawn design got a lot compliments. I only did my nail with Jenny but seems like everyone in there will do a good job. The salon is very clean and modern. This was my first and last visit to this salon I came to get a builder gel refill and pedicure I asked for French which wasn't easy for her to do When she got them right I noticed how thick and lumpy the gel was By that time 3 hours had passed, I felt really bad so I asked for her to please thin them out and just paint them the base color to save time since it had taken so long First she asked me to leave and come back which I really didn't want to do , so I asked for no French just base color They were still so heavy and thick but by then I felt bad asking for them to be fixed again paid and left I came back the next day to have them fixed but the staff was so rude, I asked just to have them thinned not a full manicure they said no I had to make an appointment and kept changing the time First they said a 1 hour wait which I agreed to then they changed it to "some time tomorrow" It was very obvious the owner did not want to fix them at all I was able to get them fixed WITH a perfect French in 20 minutes at the salon next door If your expectations are nails done properly in a timely manner with great customer service you won't find it here I wouldn't recommend this salon read more

Editing a third and final time and changing it one star review. I came into salon today 5 days after my initial service to get my nail fixed as the gel polish started peeling already. As I was leaving the lady who works the front desk stopped me and literally told me bc of the review I left I was not welcome back LMAO I was never going to give this business another dollar regardless but the audacity to say that to a customer who's been nothing but loyal to this salon since moving here is quite insane to me. Fuck this salon. EDITING TO REPLY TO OWNER - as I mentioned in my review I have been going to the salon since November and receiving the same service same nail shape same design every single time. Yesterday was the first time I was ever charged for FILING. It is part of the job to file a nail. I did not request a coffin nor an almond. I have a wide nail bed and like my tips to fit my nail bed and not be super wide. The nail tip that is glued to the nail is already quite tapered. I have never once been charged for a square shape. Never received an email or text or call or notice of any change in charges as you try to mislead in your response. I've posted two photos. The one with gray shirt is how my nails have always come out. The nails on right are what I left the salon with yesterday. They're not tapered at all. They're SQUARE. I moved to the Houston area late October and I first came to visit this nail salon early November and initially I just got a pedicure. I was pleased with the service so I then made an appointment to come in to get a full set. I probably have come to this nail salon for maybe five times to get a refill since November today. I decided that it was time for a fresh set. It was long overdue so I requested a removal and I got the exact same nails that I have been getting since November, which is a tapered square French tip, they already charged $25 on top of their $50 full set just for the French alone OK cool no complaints I've always paid $75 for my nails whether it be a fresh set or a new set today I knew I would be charged an extra five dollars Because of the removal but caught me off guard and has completely turned me off at this point now is that I just got charged a five dollar fee for a "special shape" on my nail. Let me remind you that I got a square tip glued on my natural nail, and the amount of filing that the nail tech did was minimal because I did not request a coffin. I requested a tapered square Which to be frank my nails look very square in my opinion they don't even look tapered. They're the most square that I've had since coming here I have never once been charged a five dollar additional fee for filing I could understand if I was getting almond again. I could understand if I was getting coffin but to charge me five dollars to shape a tip which is what should already be done I think is excessive and unnecessary. the woman who was checking me out could tell that I was not pleased about that extra five dollars because I have never once paid that for the shape that I have been getting since November And I saw her talking to what might be the manager. I'm not sure who he is and they still charged me the five dollars I have frequented and only gone to this nail salon since moving to Houston but I will now be looking for a new nail salon because for me it's just the principal. If you're going to be adding fees that have never been paid, you should at the very least let the customer know. read more

The business is small but they get the work done! I had just got off my flight and needed an immediate service for my nails. I was able to get an immediate response and upon arrival I was told to check in on the tablet first; okay! I had my pedi with Harry and he did a good job: Tee was kind and thorough on my acrylic/mani which turned out great. They do offer beverages, the place is clean and opening.
