Maestro - Yum yum - Latin American Near Me - Tulsa, Oklahoma

This was my first visit to Maestro. It's a bit on the smaller side I believe the capacity is around 80 guests. But it is a very attractive restaurant inside. There's a variety of seating available, booths that can hold up to six people, several high top tables and regular two and four seat tables. As you walk in the front doors the bar is immediately the focal point at the back of the restaurant. Throughout the restaurant are lights hanging from the ceiling with oversized wicker-like shades. Lighting is thoughtfully done, not too bright, not too dark. Our server was very attentive and was eager to answer all our questions and we did have quite a few because the menu was rather unique. We had questions about some of the ingredients and portion sizes. Half of the menu is more Tappas style; great for sharing because the portions are generous. The other half of the menu is more entrée sized and our table of six ordered a variety of items from both sides of the menu. The beet salad (Remolacha) was fabulous, with good size chunks of beets mixed with peanuts and Pomegranate and crema plus a few other ingredients. My entree was the Frita Cubana a chorizo-spiced beef patty with egg, cheese, onion, shoestring fries, aioli, served on a yummy brioche bun. It was delicious. We shared the PROVOLETA, Melted provolone with chimichurri served in a cast iron pan with toasted sourdough for dipping. Awesome. CROQUETAS are 3 roughly golf ball sized fried lump crab cakes, with lemon aioli and chives, also awesome. There's a clean tickle of ají amarillo that lingers just long enough to remind you this dish has backbone. On its own, the acidity can overwhelm, but paired with the crisp sweet-potato chips, the dish finds its balance--vibrant, structured, and strikingly alive. Wagyu Beef Tartare ($18) Salsa macha, aioli, chives, sourdough Unctuous and decadent, the wagyu tartare rests atop a crisp slice of Country Bird Bakery sourdough--an elegant platform for an undeniably rich bite. The interplay of tangy aioli and silky beef strikes immediate harmony, while the salsa macha and toasted seeds (notably sunflower) introduce a welcome crunch and nuttiness. Yet, the dish leans indulgent to a fault; a visible pool of oil collects beneath, underscoring its weight. It's deeply flavorful and texturally engaging but, undeniably heavy-handed. Provoleta ($15) Provolone, chimichurri, sourdough Rich and devilishly indulgent, Maestro's provoleta lands bubbling in a cast-iron skillet, its nutty, caramelized crust forming a golden armor around an oozy, molten center. Each pull is pure cheese ecstasy; balanced by a bright, herb-packed chimichurri that cuts through the richness just enough to keep you coming back. The Country Bird Bakery sourdough is the perfect vessel for this molten decadence. Still, between the cheese's natural oils and the chimichurri's olive base, the dish leans heavy. Pro tip: scoop a generous spoonful of that blistered cheese onto the papas bravas--the pairing borders on perfection. The rice is cooked well and carries the essence of the sea. While the overall flavor is pleasant and balanced, each seafood component--from the shrimp to the scallops--was noticeably overcooked, dulling the delicacy the dish aims to showcase. A refined idea that misses its mark in execution. Corn Soft Serve ($8) Sesame brittle, salsa negra A beautiful and inventive dessert, the corn soft serve captures the toasted sweetness of roasted corn in silky, custard-like form. The salsa negra brings a smoky depth and a slow-building heat that plays brilliantly against the cold creaminess of the ice cream. Finally we have a spot in Tulsa that has multiple tequila & mezcal cocktails . Fun dimly lit restaurant w great drinks & apps. I'm pretty picky when it comes to pork chops and this one was pretty damn good. So many places over cook it. The meat was tinder & juicy. The avocado crème & corn went perfectly w it. I also had the fried provolone w chimichurri & sourdough bread which was phenomenal. It was pretty rich & full of flavor. The marg, Picante Marg and their version of an espresso martini which had rum were all great. They only have one dessert so I had to try it. If you like nutty desserts, you'll love this. It was good as pretty much any dessert is, but it didn't supremely impress me. It's definitely unique. All the servers were very nice. The food and drinks came out pretty quickly. And I went on a Saturday night. I will definitely be back and want to try more things. read more

Saturday night we stopped in Maestro for dinner and cocktails. The restaurant is located in the Sante Fe square building downtown. Upon walking in, we saw a sign on the host stand to grab a seat, so we found an open table. Shortly after sitting down, a kind server asked how many in our party. Then we were brought water and menus. A few minutes passed and another server came by to take our drink orders and provided information about the food menu. I had the frozen margarita, which was delicious! For food, it was hard to decide from such great options. We ended up sharing the croquettes and fries. But we each wanted our own burger. It was so much food and oh so delicious! I'll also add that we enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere, and unique food options. We highly recommend stopping in here for a bite if you're in the area! read more

Maestro is such a vibe!! It's a nice place to meet for drinks and small bites. Croquetas was my favorite dish and the drink was higher quality as they make their syrups in-house. Maestro is . Truly phenomenal. Wife and I are regulars at Valkyrie and learned about Maestro from there. Maestro is everything Valkyrie is in the since of creativity mixed with great vibes, just with food, margaritas and mezcal (who wouldn't want it). Took my wife and friends for her birthday. We had the Croquets and Wagyu Beef Tartare for food. Both were great and I went back the next day for a second helping lol. We had the Palomita and Martinez de Oaxaca. Palomita was the best mix of fresh flavor and spice, and the Martinez is the smoothest old school flavor bomb I've had in a while. And the music and bartenders are on point. Food is a bit expensive and I'm knocking a star off due to the fact that when I ordered the ceviche, they were serviced with a tiny little bowl of broken sweet potato chips. After running out halfway through the ceviche, I asked for more and was charged for them. Either provide enough for the ceviche itself or don't charge for more. read more
