Madness!!
Terry B.

We were wandering around the Dupont Circle Metro station, wondering what happened to the restaurants we'd visited in the past when we spotted Madhatter. We'd been here on a recent trip and remembered good times. We were happy to hear that they had outdoor seating, so we enjoyed choosing from the vast happy hour options. The quesadilla and beer was exactly what we needed after a day at the museums. Service was pleasant and efficient. A perfect solution.

Came for the bottomless mimosas, stayed for the diner style breakfast. Honestly this spot isn't bad. Fantastic bottomless deals and the food was solid. Inside is dated yet you can stop looking around. It's decorated with everything but the kitchen sink but my god it's fun in there.

This is a tough crowd out here-- I love mad hatter. I could be biased bc it brings the nostalgia for me but this is a great place to come with friends or even solo. For the orange crush they hand squeeze the oranges in front of you. Which other bar is doing that? I'll wait lol but anywho the staff is so friendly and the crowd is friendly too. What more could you want in a happy hour--great price great atmosphere. I didn't try any light bites since it was a quick stop in but everything looked good! Don't miss the patio when the weather is good.

The steak was excellent, and the potatoes were very good too! I really enjoyed my hot chocolate. Overall, the restaurant is beautifully set up and decorated. Our server was polite and helpful, assisting us with the menu and recommending his favorite dishes.

If you live in the DC area or are just visiting, Madhatter is a rite of passage for all 20 somethings. Think of an elevated frat party with jungle juice, except much tastier and in a humongous glass hat. A great item to spilt among friends. I've also tried their Orange Crush slushy which was recommended by the bartender - quite tasty. Their staff is speedy and the dance floor is spacious. While the music is hit or miss, Madhatter can consistently provide you with a fun time with friends. After all, you're only young once.

The Hatter's Punch was delicious! I would highly recommend getting one. They're huge and good to split with a group. Probably not that strong but it tastes like a blue jolly rancher to me which i LOVE. The different rooms in the Madhatter are also very fun! There's an upstairs and the theme of the rooms are Alice in Wonderland esque with checkered floors etc. I'm taking off a star because of the strict bathroom situation. The women's bathroom line downstairs was sooo frckin long and moved slowly and they had a security guard letting people in 1 by 1. Meanwhile the guys just waltzed in their line... I'd recommend trying the upstairs bathroom. No guard, either gender room, and it moved faster.

The attention to detail with the ambiance is highly impressive! This is the perfect place for a night out with friends -- DJ was one of the best we've heard in years! Highly recommend~

We've been here before when we're going out, but we actually came here for happy hour and it was a great time. They had all the good bar food like Mac and cheese, nachos, fries, etc and the drinks were also tasty. I got the orange crush and my fiance got a rail drink, both of our drinks were pretty strong and the bartenders were nice. It was definitely different to come here during the day as this place is much more chill, but they had a good happy hour and good food!

Had lunch here so it was pretty empty. Lunch deals were great and the reuben I had was tasty and good sized for $11.

The service was delightful and the food was pretty good, but the noise level was too high for us.

The Madhatter used to be the spot. I went recently and the food is not the same. Very bland and basic.

I visited the Pembroke as part of…read morea work team dinner during Restaurant Week, and we were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food, super friendly service, and great ambiance. The space is gorgeous; I love all the plants, and the light brown, light blue, and white color combination for their furniture makes the space look classy and modern. The light brown leather couches are comfortable, and I love the way they circle around the tables to create a natural, cozy booth. Our food was just as beautiful as the space. The Restaurant Week menu comes with an appetizer, main, and dessert. Given how indecisive I can be (and how expansive the normal menu is), I was grateful to have my choices narrowed down a bit. I started off my meal with the octopus. The octopus was remarkably tender and not overly chewy, and had a delightful char that gave it a slightly smoky flavor. They double downed on the smokiness with their burnt chili oil, which, alongside the lemon and salsa verde, gave the dish a wonderfully balanced smoky, savory, and slightly acidic flavor. The crushed potatoes had a lovely crispy shell on the outside and served as a great base for the tender octopus. The main course was probably the easiest choice of the evening -- I'm absolutely obsessed with branzino, so the second I saw it on the Restaurant Week menu, I knew that was what I had to get. The fish is beautifully broiled, with a nice, crispy skin and super tender, flaky flesh. It's topped with a few pieces of roasted garlic and a wedge of lemon. The fresh lemon juice, as well as the lovely side salad, offered a great pop of freshness to bring the whole dish together. And finally, for our dessert, I chose the chocolate torta. This wonderful dessert is remarkably rich and decadent, with a strong dark chocolate flavor. It's topped with a lovely marsala date sauce and scoop of sheep's yogurt ice cream, but still doesn't feel overly sweet. The sheep's yogurt in the ice cream offers a bit of tanginess, and I loved the addition of the candied walnuts for a bit of crunch.

A five-minute walk towards downtown from the Mayflower hotel made Tatte Bakery an ideal spot for breakfast. It also has nice views of Farragut Square. I went with the House Full breakfast that included Applewood bacon, eggs, potato fritters with tomato jam and mint parmasean, and house made sourdough. I was curious to try one of their best sellers - monkey bread, and it didn't disapoint. A solid breakfast with on point service before catching the metro to Virginia. I really enjoyed my visit here and would return in a heartbeat.
