I shop at this location frequently for Ladies clothing, but I am getting to the point where I am tired of the selection, which looks like it's always the same except for occasional new items. I bought three Fall pieces that coordinate today, even though I usually wouldn't buy Fall clothes in July. I was pleased to be told that I get 25% off this transaction, as they were full priced new separates. That's the good part. The not so good was that when I first went in with a return, the tiny lady at the counter on the 2nd floor seemed annoyed to have to help me. Then I began browsing around for a long time and found a lot of things to try on, but then went to the large CS desk to ask them to hold the clothes for ten minutes so I could go to the restroom, and the nice lady said yes. Sadly, one of the big security tags on a long dress hit me on my big toe and hurt me, so I mentioned it to her. She confirmed what I said, and asked if I'm ok, and I said "no it hurts". I wish that she had offered to give me a way to report the injury from the tag, but then she at least then offered to take the pile of clothes on a rolling rack over to the dressing room for me. I thanked her, and was surprised at her kindness. When I was done trying on way too many items, I went to the counter and the other lady there rang up my sale. She was very kind, but (not her fault) my Macy's card was declined at first, so she had to call the credit #, so then I was a bit frustrated. Eventually it got ironed out and she was able to complete my sale. I spoke to the man on the phone at one point, and he was very tough to understand, but I had to try to be nice to wrap it up already. I was going to go over to the main counter after that to ask to fill out a form or something about my toe injury, but gave up for the day since my feet were in pain otherwise too from a condition that I have with numbness. Oh - I also at first, spoke with a few shoe associates, one of whom was friendly, the next seemed offended that I was just browsing and then when I walked over to ask a simple question about a certain brand, she acted like I was bothering her. I think that some employees would improve with better training and "present" management, and more staffing. I worked at a few Macy's on the other side of the country, many years ago...and it was super busy (I worked Holidays). I remember that we could rarely saw a manager to get any help when we associates needed them to show up, so I feel for them having to work solo at a counter nowadays. I liked having coworkers to make the time go faster. It can feel weird to only see ONE associate at a counter, plus, sometimes it feels like I'm the only person shopping there! I don't really expect sales help at Macy's anyway, I like to be left alone most of the time to browse and then buy what I like. They also should clean up the clothes racks, because some hangers are twisted together, items are in the wrong spot, blocking another rack, hanging off the hangars, just messy looking at least part of the time. It can get aggravating to have to spend 5 whole minutes looking at each tag to find your size, especially when the items are entwined with each other! Also, please vac the dressing room floors because it was very dusty/dirty and I was afraid to ever let my feet touch it. Grose. Also, I was given a room with a door that did not lock. I should have switched it to one with a lock. Sigh. So yeah, Macy's has some nice associates, but they vary with mileage, the stock could use fresh items weekly, clean up the displays, take some pride in your store, and hire more people! I may stop going in and just order online to save gas and frustration from now on. read more
