I usually avoid Oakridge like the plague, however it was on my way to something and I desperately needed new makeup (mac, chanel & dior).. so Macy's was the place to go to get it all in one swoop. Once I entered the Macy's I stood around for not joking 25 minutes waiting for someone to help me. Both the Dior and Chanel counters were empty and I asked a girl at the Clinique counter if she could help me. She said she was going on her lunch. Okay then... Finally when someone helped me, they were out of the color concealer that I wanted AND the mascara type that I wanted. Didn't even make it to the Mac counter out of sheer frustration. Poorly staffed & poorly stocked. Reminded me of why I avoid Oakridge and Macy's. Nordstrom had the service and the items I was looking for. read more

I still think this is a good department store. It's been around for a while. They have good deals on clothes for adults and kids especially when there is a sale. I bought these soft athletic shorts for my son here and it was his ultimate favorite shorts that he wore every day all summer long. They have perfumes and colognes that are popular gifts. I like their shoe selection too. Great place for Christmas's shopping. I took my sister shopping here and she found a really cute dress in the clearance section and it's price was an amazing deal! read more

This is my store that I shop often. They are not as crowded as valley fair mall. I find what I need for everyday wear, but lack of special occasion appeals to choose from. Every time I come to this store there are a maximum of 2 people serving, often only 1 person when you try to buy or return clothes. Today I stood in line for approximately 25 minutes to return 1 dress. It took 2 minutes for the return. My daughter then wanted to shop for clothes. We didn't. I avoid buying things at this Macy's because of the long wait times once you find something to buy. The transaction is not the problem. The staff are not the problem, the lack of staff is the problem whether it be weekday, weekend, daytime or evening. This is not a one day/ at this time of day problem, it's every time I visit this particular store and it's not just a COVID experience either, it was like it pre-2020. read more

Romero in the shoe department gets 5 stars. The store itself is sad. NO ESCALATOR for two days in a row that I came to shop for shoes. Use the elevator, the staff told me. There seems to be no rush to get it fixed. The staff was helpful in every department I visited. But the inventory is crap. Target/Walmart quality merch. I just tried to return a brand new pair of boots bought shortly before I broke my foot on 12/23/21. I finally have my boot off & they don't work & they have refused to take the boots back. They are brand new, in the box, absolutely pristine. They were purchased on my Macy's credit card & Christmas purchases have always had 90 return policy. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN. Your typical Macys, and parking is a pain as usual. I don't come here often, and was a bit lost weaving my way in and out. I do like how it's altogether in one area, separated by the two floors (mens, kids, home, womens). I had come here to check out their North Face gear during the friends and family time, but unfortunately they do not carry any NF products like other Macy's. I bought China here in the past. I need replacement poeces. I ask one associate..."I don't know." I go back to the flatware again and wait. Again. I go and ask another asaociaye..."do we have it"? Gosh. I just explained I bought in tje past. Waited in flat ware. Etc. Like she did not hear me and certainly did not want to extend a hand. The stores ll5ok like flea markets. I like this Macy's because I often seem to find something on sale here for a great deal. However, it does seem to be fairly hit and miss, so three stars. I've gotten ridiculous discounts for some items. Dresses for under $20, a men's blazer for $10, a sequined skirt for Vegas that was all of $9.99, and some work shirts for about $12. You do have to hunt and pick to find the things you want and sometimes I find it hard to find certain brands that they sell because they seem to move things around a fair amount. read more

Do not get their credit card. They will make every attempt possible to screw you. Their online payment system is fucked and they add on credit protection (+fees) automatically. Consider yourself warned. And as for this store specifically, it's in complete disarray. Their prices are not reflected in the condition of the store or its merchandise. I had the best experience at Macy's the other day. Shout out to Manuel in the women's shoe department who was patient with me and took the time to find a few boots in my size. Manuel even gave me some advice and feedback on the shoes I was trying on, "what do you think?" Manuel's answer was genuine and I felt very comfortable. Shout out to Cece for taking great care of my 11 year old at the Benefit Browbar. This was my daughter's second time getting her eyebrows waxed and Cece took her time and made sure my daughter was comfortable before she proceeded. The store was cleaned and organized. When I have to shop, I'm a big bitch and I'm really picky. I was on a search for an elusive, certain wash of Levi's 501's. When I went to the Valley Fair Macy's, the jeans weren't there, but the dude working there told me that Oakridge had 6 pairs. When I got to the Oakridge Macy's, I was ecstatic to find several pairs on the shelves. They were to easy to find as the piles of jeans were organized according to size. I am so impressed by Macy's dedication to customer service. I recently had a complaint about a customer service related interaction. I received an email, a phone call and then a discount card from them. I had assured the manager I spoke to the day it happened that I intended to remain a Macy's customer, that I knew this was an isolated incident, and they still offered all that followup! Keep in mind that this is a review of THIS Macy's location, not the brand in general. This is the closest Macy's store to me, so I end up here often. On a recent trip, I realized there is no Petite section. If someone can tell me otherwise, please do. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in the Junior's section of the store, which was fine; there are lots of sales and I can count numerous hoodies and t-shirts I have from that part of the store, including a $17 reversible Ezekiel hoodie I still love. But the sales aren't particular to THIS location, and comparing selection to other Macy's stores will very much show that there is more to be seen. So this Macy's isn't bad by any means, but not my favorite. read more

I bought some Laura Mercier make up and was DREADING returning what I wasn't satisfied with---we've all been there, returning something high-end that can't be reused is usually an eye-rolling doozy----but today I asked about their return policy and Renee and Cassandra were absolutely amazing. It was as simple as "you're not happy?..... Return it! We want you to be happy!". That's almost verbatim and it made me smile from ear to ear... I was expecting something more difficult or condescending but they reassured me it was literally ALL GOOD. Reneé even said "there is nothing worse than opening a drawer and seeing something that cost a lot of money that you don't use" and I absolutely agree. Horrible experience!!! I walked in with the intention of buying a watch, after browsing I found a few I wanted to see. I was ignored for more then 15 minutes until I asked someone for help. She informed me she was a merchandiser and couldn't help me but went to tell someone I was in need of assistance. I waited another 15-20 minutes and wasn't help, so I walked out. I was looking to spend a decent amount of money and get something nice but they lost my money and business. One of the worst Macy's I've been to. Selection is very small compared to Valley Fair. There was trash on the ground and different brand clothes were everywhere. I swear I didn't see any associates on the floor folding clothes or putting them in the correct location. As I moved from one brand area to the next, I saw that many other brands were there, not in their respective areas. There were some long lines at one of the men's registers to pay. I went up to another register which they sold the accessories to ask if they were open and the 2 female workers there said no. They said only pull people from the long line when it got too long. When is it too long???? To me, they were slacking off, standing there, and gossiping to each other, not doing their jobs. Bad customer service!!!!!!! read more

Pretty much what Carole G. said. I love that all the departments are housed in one Macy's--I can do all my home shopping and men's shopping if I can't finding anything for myself downstairs. Though the sales sections can be messy, this Macy's for the most part is quite organized though perhaps small in their selection (e.g. INC petites). This home department is my favorite of all the Macy's. The employees up there (the little old ladies) are super helpful and cheerful and provide great home coordinating suggestions. The young men's department always has LRG in stock when I have to get the Mr. some basic tees and I enjoy browsing their petites section for both myself and my mom. There's this pretty gal I buy from at the Clinique counter and I like that she mostly refrains from upsell if I say no. The majority of sales associates are pretty nice and helpful, save for this one blonde youngish man with a European accent. He's kind of a douche when it comes to coupon rules (I forgot my coupon one time, made a purchase, came back the NEXT day to adjust it, and he flat out said no). I rarely bother dealing with the VF location since this one fits my Macy's needs. read more

This place has a decent selection, but terrible customer service, half of the time I can never find a worker. Most of the workers are in the cologne section, the others, well we dont know where they are at, im guessing somewhere hiding in the back or flirting with the females down below in the make up area. We may never know, but one thing I do know is it takes about an hour to get through two people in line smh. Stopped by Macy's at 3pm on a weekday to make a quick return. The store wasn't that crowded, but very few employees were working at the registers. I saw 5 employees clock in or out for lunch at the register, but no one actually took a customer even though the line had 8 people in it. I went to check out the other registers on the floor and the situation was the same. I think the employees need better training/accountability as some were even chatting on their cell phones while they were "working." It seems strange to wait in line for 18 minutes even though there are plenty of employees walking around. I had this experience right after returning something at Target, and that experience was seamless. Target is supposedly a "discount retailer" and Macy's is "mid-range" so this goes to show me that something is going wrong with the management at this location. read more

This is my local Macys. The car park is very large so you will find a spot and Macys has multiple entrances around the car park, so easy to enter from either of the three sides. Merchandise is of good quality and bottom floor is for women's clothes, bags, shoes, make up, etc. Top floor is for kids and men's along with household items - bed sheets, luggage, kitchen utensils, etc If you have a Macys rewards card it comes in handy to get 25% off during friends and family sales. Staff is helpful and the sales generally are very good. You can buy items on sale on pre-order and pick them up later with the rewards card. 4 stars. read more

Really? If there were a 0 score this Macy's would get it in my opinion. I got to Macy's early today with 25% off coupon in hand. Granted this was Wednesday, AFTER black Friday and after cyber Monday. Wanted to finish my Christmas shopping. Got distracted by the shoe clearance racks even though I wasn't shopping for me. Almost all of the shoes that were on my size rack were not my size. And all of the sections were like that. To top it off, one sales associate was refilling the racks not once, but twice and didn't even ask if I needed help. So I move on. Browsing through the store for gifts and none of the employees asked if I needed help or assistance. I find this fascinating as the store was not busy but there were many many employees around for the holidays. Left without buying a thing, and I won't be back. The works here are so racist and work so slow. There is a lady in the junior section that was just sending all Hispanics to a different cashier, but she was helping others. I've never had this kind of problem in no Macy's. This is my damn first time and I am for sure not ever going to shop here again. All cashiers have long lines. No other associates more than one working per cashier. No one offers to help you find an item. These people are driving me nuts. read more

I'm usually not a huge fan of this Macy's just because it's so small. However, while home for Christmas I was at the mall with my mom and we popped in here for all the after-holiday sales. The shoe section was a complete disaster, but being the busiest time of year it's understandable. Anyway, I spotted a pair of boots that I thought would be perfect for me since I now live in a snowy place. I tracked down a sales man and he brought me out my size. I had him put them on hold for a day- my grandma had told me she'd buy me my boots so I planned on bringing her back with me. The next day, G-ma was too tired to accompany me from Sunnyvale to Oakridge. However, she gave me her Macy's card and ID so that I could charge them. Woohoo! I went back and asked the sales girl for my shoes. She looked twice in the stock area where they hold shoes and couldn't find them. Noooo! I was hitting panic mode, especially because I had looked at Sunnyvale Macy's and Valley Fair, both which didn't carry these boots. I left to go on a hunt for the man who helped me the day before. Luckily he was working, and he remembered me and the shoes I put on hold. He looked. No where to be found. He kept looking though, and finally found them! It took half an hour in the shoe department but it was a success. He rang them up and was even cool with letting me use my grandma's card. I promised him I didn't go around stealing old ladies' Macy's cards. So, overall props for the customer service from this nice old man, which was great. read more

I'm surprised I would even give Macy's a 5 star. I went here on a big sale, but later at night so there were less people. Almost everything was on sale, (75% off, 10% off, only $10) and I was so excited to buy cheap jeans, since I was in need of some! The sales rack was a complete MESS, clothe were everywhere. But I guess Macys is always like that and the employees have better things to do than just go around picking up after everyone. The dressing rooms are pretty big and have those 3 mirrors that can move around. I loved that alot! The dressing room also has no one monitoring it, which I also like. When I was finally finished, I got 4 pair of jeans, $10 for 3 of them and $20 for another. So cheap! Went to the checkout, the lady that helped me was named KELLEY, remember that! She's by far the best worker I have ever met! Shes nice, talks to you about anything, and she always has a smile! Even though my friend took a long time figuring out how to buy the clothe, (using discount coupons and cards) She was very patient and answered any of her questions!! Spent like 20 minutes at the register with my friend. Thank goodness there was no one behind us. If Kelley wasn't helping me, I would have given this place a lower score, but she's great! It is turning into a grocery store where you find your item and go pay at the register by the door. This is producing sales reps that are really good at folding and manning a register, but never know where stuff is!? Forget about any front line employee having a personality... how did this happen? We are participating in capitalism, not sending someone to death row! Save your pretentious ennui for someone else. I love Macy's! I spent so much here last year that they sent me a new card and raised me up a spending level. What does this mean? They send me even more discount coupons and even more incentives every month to shop here. So, I do. I don't know if this Macy's is the best one in all of Silicon Valley or the smallest or whatever. It's close to me and I can deal with the smaller size store a little better than the Macy' at Valley Fair. It overwhelms me. But I'll go there for a special occasion dress or something like that because they have a larger selection. But, I love the I.N.C. department at this Macy's as well as the Junior's department. I have found some great deals on their clearance racks and I don't usually do the clearance rack thing. Some of the jackets I have gotten here on clearance are amazing! $95 white velvet jacket with fur cuffs, collar and rhinestone buttons that sparkle aplenty for half price? Oh yeah! Everyone wants this when I wear it out. No, no, no, it's MINE! I agree that the customer service is generally pretty good here. One time they sent me a coupon for 20% off my purchases. Only problem was, it had no expiration date or anything on it! When the first clerk I used it on failed to take it, I put it back in my purse and used it over and over again for months until it wore out! This became a standing joke for awhile. Good times. But seriously, nice clothes, good quality, decent brands and good prices and sales. I like this Macy's because it tends to be in stock and have more of a variety than others. I will make the trek all the way to Oakridge just to come here because I feel it's better than VF. Plus, I don't have to walk all the way across the mall if I JUST want a different department. It helps that I can buy other things here too... like MAC products or other makeup things.
