Sephora inside Kohl's - Blossom Hill (San Jose) 890 Blossom Hill Rd, San Jose, CA 95123 Yesterday, January 3, 2026, at approximately 3:05 p.m., my wife, baby, and I visited Kohl's to exchange baby clothes that were gifted to us but ended up being too small. I want to start by saying that the Kohl's return experience itself was excellent, especially considering we did not have a gift receipt. The associate made the exchange simple and efficient using my ID, and I was genuinely grateful for how smoothly the process went. On our way out, we decided to stop by the Sephora section inside Kohl's. We were browsing and initially looking for It's A 10 products, which we later learned are carried by Ulta rather than Sephora. Unfortunately, our experience in the Sephora area was very uncomfortable. A security guard began closely following us almost immediately. When I first acknowledged him with a greeting, there was no response. As we moved toward the back wall looking for scent strips, he continued to hover nearby. While I understand the need for loss prevention, especially given the current retail climate, his continued presence through every aisle became excessive and made us feel uneasy. At one point, a Sephora staff member kindly asked if we needed help. She was polite and professional, and under different circumstances I would have welcomed assistance. However, by that point, the constant hovering had already made the situation uncomfortable, and I declined. When we moved toward the front to sample body sprays (such as Sol de Janeiro), the security guard remained nearby, watching us closely. As someone who worked in security myself after high school, I understand the mindset and challenges of the role. That said, effective loss prevention should be discreet and professional. Hovering over the same customers, especially a family with a baby, creates discomfort and risks pushing genuine customers away, without necessarily deterring actual theft. This experience left us feeling judged, whether due to casual clothing on a relaxed day, or assumptions that may be made based on appearance or background. I also recognize that there are situations where individuals misuse strollers for theft, so I understand the need for awareness. However, customer service should always be the first line of engagement, not intimidation. I recommend additional training for security staff on discreet monitoring and coordination with store associates. If there is concern, it should be communicated quietly to staff so that friendly customer service can be used first. Reviewing store footage from around 3:10 p.m. on January 3rd may also be helpful for internal training purposes. Unfortunately, this experience reinforced why I often prefer shopping online rather than in-store. Christmas time has arrived! Tons of decorations, kitchenware, clothing and toys to choose from for the holiday season! I think I lost an hour of my time when I only came in to look at pots and pans The employees were helpful when we asked about some of the promotions going on right now which was helpful in us determining when we'd come back to shop more. There were so many deals going on! I think there was a buy $50 and get $10 off, plus an additional $10 off and more! Definitely check the app when shopping because that will tell you what sales are happening and what's applicable when checking out. Definitely coming back before the Xmas season is over! read more

I just wanted to get on the phone with Sephora at this location to see if they had a product. I pressed 1 when calling so I would talk to a sephora employee. A very angry woman answered me and asked for a "scu number". I had no idea what that was and she genuinely explained it so annoyed that I didn't know what that was. I asked to talk to sephora and she just said "okay" and hung up. I am 19 years old and I would NEVER answer the phone like that at a job, especially at 9:50 in the morning when the day just started. Hire some employees that'll actually care about working. I called a STORE to ask if they had a product and felt like I was a total inconvenience to this lady. Straight up weird. read more

Racial Profiling Experience - Blossom Hill Location My wife and I visited the Kohl's on Blossom Hill on July 7, 2025, to return an item and stop by Sephora. We are both professional engineers, and we usually shop at the Milpitas Great Mall location, but we chose this one because it's closer to home after a long workday. Unfortunately, we were made to feel extremely uncomfortable by a security guard who followed us around the store closely and suspiciously -- even circling us repeatedly -- without any cause. As people of African descent, we couldn't help but feel targeted because of our skin color. When we left, they even searched our bags, though we had done nothing wrong. We've never experienced this kind of treatment at other Kohl's or Sephora locations. It was dehumanizing and hurtful. Racial profiling has no place in retail or anywhere else. We hope this location seriously re-evaluates its policies and staff training. To anyone who is Black, Brown, or of African descent please be aware of how you may be treated at this store. I recently did a Return with my Receipt. I was followed from the Register that you purchase an item from & I could hear Mgmt., speaking about me on their walkie's, oh she's doing a Return & she stood & watched the associate process my return and she insisted on seeing my Original Receipt! It was Insulting, Embarrassing, I am a 74 year old Retired Retail Store Manager! If I wanted to shoplift I would never do it close to my home. I visited Kohl's this morning with my 2 year old daughter to do an Amazon return. While walking down the aisle, the billboard picture hanging on the Sephora wall fell down within inches of smashing my daughter. Many shoppers came rushing over asking if we are ok. Not 1 employee checked on me or my daughter who was crying hysterically at this point as she was terrified of what just happened. I went to the store for an Amazon return. The entrance was blocked off, but I saw someone at the counter so I decided to take another way through. Then I said "hello" to get her attention because she was looking down. She looked up and said "there is a sign there, can you read it?" So, I read the sign and it said "close, take your Amazon returns to customer service" This woman at the shoe department was very snarky. She could've just told me the area is closed and proceed to customer service. What happens if the customer can't read? You'll give them an attitude like that? I was shocked to encounter a Filipino with a bad attitude. We are usually friendly. But next time I see her, I'll definitely talk to her and let her know that I didn't like her attitude. So I just had to make a comment regarding Amazon returns. You know Kohl's is not related to Amazon. They take the returns as a courtesy and give you a discount coupon. If the Amazon counter is closed and the sign says go to customer service don't be bothering, the lady in the shoe department. Take your happy ass over to customer service. I used to prefer this location to the other local one because it was generally very neat and organized however I just had the triple threat of bad customer service yesterday: 1. I found a dress I really liked but it had a button loop broken, and a missing belt. So I found somebody on the floor to ask if they could see if they had another one. They were very helpful but unfortunately there wasn't another one. They did mention I could take it to customer service to try to get a discount off this one, but I explained that I actually wanted the belt. Later, I saw they had just hung the dress with the broken Loop and the missing belt back on the rack! 2. When I had scanned the aforementioned dress, using their app, it said something about getting free shipping if I purchased it while in the store. However, when I went to check out, there wasn't free shipping, so I went to customer service for help. I kid you not the person actually said that they have no idea and they don't know how to help me. They said they cannot process any orders, there was no longer an in-store order kiosk with free shipping, and suggested I would get free shipping if I used a Kohl's card. I went back to the dress display, scanned it again and confirmed indeed it said I should get free shipping. 3. Upon picking up my self service order, which is the reason I went to this location in the first place, I made sure to count it had the right number of items through the tightly knitted bag Once I got home it turns out one of the items was the wrong size. I double checked my order receipt, sure enough I ordered the right size but they picked the wrong size. So now I have to go back to Kohl's and hope they don't think I actually just stole a pair of jeans and am trying to return them. read more

This review is solely for the AMAZON return only. Due to COVID, I have been ordering on Amazon quite frequently. Not everything that I order is of good quality, even though the pictures may make the items look amazing. That just means I'll need to return the free shipping items I have received from Amazon. no need to fuss with the Post Office of UPS and have to pay extra. My items all have free returns within so many days. I go onto Amazon, request the return, get the email confirmation and then grab the items and head to Kohl's. Done this a few times and I have not seen a line. Walk up, provide my returned items and the email confirmation w/ the QR code, the clerk scans, confirms the item(s) and I walk away with a receipt of the return and I am on the way home. I did not have the childhood I wish I had. Money was scarce and we moved a lot. I remember we did not celebrate Christmas one year because my parents did not have the money to. I grew up playing all kinds of sports and was in orchestra but never saw my parents in the crowds. I was not wearing fashionable clothing at the time and although it is superficial of me to think that - every ounce in me is wanting to create a life I love and to provide everything I can for Gavin. Gavin has summer outfits, fall and winter clothes, sweaters, jackets, shoes, toys, books, food.. you name it. My fridge is filled w/ 75% of his stuff. I spend anywhere between $120-$160 every time a new season is around the corner because he is growing and I dress him accordingly (based on weather and where we are going). Kohl's is great for shopping for end of season clothes, too because there will be sizes available and sometimes you will find a big sale, too. He just turned 6 just 2 weeks ago and I feel like he grew instantly. His jeans weren't fitting and his shirts looked short on him so we went this past weekend to upgrade his attire and to donate his fairly new clothes that he grew out of hella quickly. I came at 10 on a Sunday. Barely anyone there and everything was clean and organized. The lady that rung me up was so soft-spoken and sweet. My only complaint: why do you have to put the toys in the kids' section?! I spent $14 more than I would have if it weren't for this section, haha. read more

Their returns is located in the back center of The store. It accept returns without needing to package anything as long as you have a returns bar code. Whoever is in charge of operations should rethink their set up. You have a line on the side of the store that handles purchases with 18 people in line, while the line for returns has 2 registers without a single person in line. With that said, the clerks on the return area are just talking up a storm since clearly they are not busy. Besides the line, I gave 3 stars because I like the shopping options at kohls. read more

The person in the counter went so far as to insinuate that we (the customers) change the label to get a lower price. 3 labels there because of several reductions however she did not even tried to do maths! $25 original price with the 80% off... I was very happy to see someone with an awesome work ethic. Her name is elluisa. I'm sure i did not spell it right but she was working the Amazon Return Station on 01-24-23 at 1452 hours. She was the only person helping customers at this station. There was a line of twenty people and she was just chugging along. Just before I was helped someone probably an assistant manager walked by and looked stunned that she was still here. Elluisa said she relieved her partner for lunch and no one has come to relieve her. Elluisa said she had already clocked out but was still helping customers until someone could relive her. I sure hope she gets overtime for her willingness to help customers and make my shopping their more pleasant. You know when you're in retail and then you look at your store on yelp and see the complaints, thinking THATS NOT FAIR THEY DON'T GET IT etc. Well like, I get it. I worked retail to know all the unreasonable things people complain about. This isn't one of them. If a customer is polite, there aren't any grounds as an employee to be rude or make dumb comments to your coworkers (not saying there are ever any grounds to be rude, but I'm saying that this is ESPECIALLY not a time for it). I went here to make an amazon return because it's so dam convenient and was so excited this is an option now. The person helping me had asked if my two items were in one transactions or two. So I said two and his coworker made some annoying comment about how he wishes it were one, but it never is that way. HI, IT'S ME THE POLITE CUSTOMER WHO JUST WANTED A DAM RETURN, BUT INSTEAD FELT LIKE I WAS THE GREATEST HASSLE IN THE WORLD as if I had just asked for vanilla beans from Madagascar and didn't want to tear a hole in the ozone layer, so I wanted someone to deliver it to me by paddling across the ocean. Was told that they could not take payment for my Kohl's account this employee was mean and said thing I will not repeat. Let's be real. Very few people will write to praise a department store and leave them a positive review! With that being said, this Kohl's is not too bad. The store is huge and they have about everything. Men's clearance items I can find some goodies. I don't need to dress up for work anymore, so I find the clothes here get the job done. I never really shopped here until they started offering Amazon Returns. Amazon returns is SUPER simple. No need to package your items, just bring the return code and they'll take care of it. I've done it probably a handful of times over the last couple months and never had any issues. I usually get a confirmation of a refund on my credit card within a couple hours. Also, they give you a coupon on an in-store purchase at Kohls! Recently, I ended up getting a pair of Vans for $36 (originally $50+tax) with one of the discounts I got from doing my Amazon return. Nice incentive to visit the store too. Stores like this a dying breed these days, appreciate them before they become extinct! read more

This location is awful. It's always pretty messy and the lines are usually ridiculous. But it's close so until now we've just gone anyways and out up with a less than stellar shopping experience. Sometime back I bought my husband some pants and I got the wrong size. We realized this week that he had not gone and exchanged them before like we thought and couldn't find the receipt. We brought them back in and they said we could do an exchange if we could find the same brand and price. We were able to find my husbands size in the exact same style, color, etc and they had even been marked down a little more since I'd originally purchased them. We thought awesome, who cares if they are a little cheaper now, we just wanted the pants in the right size. We went back to the register to swap them out only to be told no, it doesn't matter that it's the same item, they can't do exchanges. Then she told us the pants we wanted to return were now $8.50 and the pants we wanted to take were $7.25 and we could return the original pants and buy the new ones. We said ok and then she said ok, I'll give you back $4.25 and then ring up the new ones. We were like no, they are the same pants, you just told us they are $8.50. We don't care if we don't get the difference on the new price, but we don't want to pay extra when I originally already paid more than that buying them the first time. We had her call a manager over. She did not help us at all and tried to give some nonsense line about how they are different departments. They were the EXACT same minus the size difference- a 44x32 vs a 44x29. They still had the longer size right there with the shorter ones. The cut, color, everything except for the length was identical. And instead of just letting us get the correct size they wanted to rip us off and swindle us out of a few bucks. We'd had other items we wanted to buy but after such a negative experience we've decided we will no longer shop with kohls and would rather spend our money elsewhere read more

Later, I returned to the store. I walked around the register and saw that the snood was there. I was told that it was found inside the store on the floor near the entrance. Bought a pair o shoes online for curbside pickup as I'm not really thrilled about going inside the store right Now. My shoes were bought out to the car and put in my trunk.. all was good.. until I got home (across town) and tried the shoes on and found out they are they wrong size..I ordered size 9.. shoes were a 7! Receipt said size 9 big as day so maybe there should be some double checking of the curbside orders?? Now I have to go all the way back across town to return AND go in the store!! read more

The World According to Noelle Allergic Girl's Guide to Life Kohl's Department Stores reminds me of the now defunct Mervyn's Department Stores. This particular location has a decent selection of housewares. They also sell clothes, shoes, makeup and jewelry. Many of the different departments are messy and unorganized. The clothes are not the best quality (hence the cheap priced items)- you could probably find equal or better quality clothes at Target. Customer service is sketch- its always hard to find a sales associate. Do note they price match other stores- just be sure to have the competitor's ad with you. I'd give this Kohl's 2.5 stars but since I can't, I'll round up to 3. This Kohl's has a large variety of clothes and shoes as well as home goods. It seems to be a hit or miss on whether the store will be clean or messy. Most of the time the dressing rooms have clothes just hanging inside since people just leave it in there instead of hanging it on the rack right outside their dressing room. During big sales, the store is definitely on the messier side with clothes and shoes on the floor. They always have sale racks but they're usually really unorganized. The employees are friendly; however, customer service in the back usually takes forever. Sometimes I have to wait in line for over 15 minutes just to return one item. 2.5 stars for Kohl's cash and sales. read more

Every time I come into this store I have been greeted promptly and always with a smile. This particular day I came in looking for a specific Nike sweater for my son and a wonderful lady named Nelly (who I later found out is a manager) not only helped me locate the exact one I wanted but also showed me how to download the Kohls app and search other locations to see availability of other items for the future. Anything that helps me save time is greatly appreciated especially with such a hectic schedule! I thought it was especially nice to not only see a manager on the registers helping to keep the lines short and flowing but to also take the time out to actually walk me over to where the item I originally came in for was located. This use to be my "go to" store. I have spent $$$$ there. Unfortunately perhaps new management or something else has taken over. I went there last night to return something to Amazon and decided to shop for a few minutes. You would expect the toy department and the children's department to be well-stocked and appealing because after all it is time to shop for Christmas, each of these departments was a total disaster! Messy, not well stocked and items were damaged and destroyed. If a store appears to be this dirty and messy I can assure you that It cannot be clean and sanitized for shoppers to be safe. read more

I was using order pickup and that went quick but the main checkout line when I exited the store was about 15 people deep with 1 checker. read more
