I was there to use my hot cash coupons , the guy in the cashier told me, I can only use 4 of them at a time , I had 5 of them. The other time I was there I was told I can only use one at a time , it because more expensive to shop there , not much of a deal . Love this location! The layout is a lot less crowded (still a bit of a clutter, but easier to maneuver around) so things are more easy to find. I grabbed what I needed (a shirt, some pins) and headed to checkout where I was greeted by a really nice cashier. Usually those in that position are my "make or break" factor and I was more than relieved when she didn't come off as callous :) I felt pretty comfortable shopping here with friends! I came here last night to pick up some Raw purple hair dye to touch up my purple locks. I mainly come to this location because its near my home and they are the only ones who carry this product. As soon a I walked in i was greeted, asked if i needed help. There were two individuals working. I wish i got their names but one was a African American guy and the other a girl whom i think was Filipino, could be wrong? But both were SUPER nice and very helpful. They both represented great customer service and how it should be when paying money in any store. Like the majority of teenagers, growing up this was my go-to spot for rock t-shirts & various music merch. As I've grown up, I happen to come here less and less. Every once in awhile, I find myself coming here to check out the t-shirts. It seems like the store has shifted more towards TV Show & Movie Merch, and away from Music merch. Not a big deal, because it's probably what's selling at the moment. The thing that I have never liked, and experienced it last week, was the horrible inconsistency of the customer service. Depending on who helps you, you might get someone who's super excited about their job, sings along to the music playing in the store, and enthusiastically greets every customer, but then you might also encounter the employee who hates the very fact that they have to greet you, and acknowledge your existence. What's also annoying is the girl carrying the ladder through the store, and coming close to hitting you, because she refuses to say excuse me. Luckily I had enough foresight to move out of the way. I don't like this Hot Topic as much as I like the Valley Fair store. This one has a super snarky girl who works there (I think she is some sort of "manager"), and the other employees are neither nice nor rude, but be prepared for possible attitude if you look "ordinary". And this humors me because I was miss punk/goth queen when these kids were in diapers (if even born yet). And I don't usually fly my freak flag when I need to run to the mall for something. But I digress... Anyhow, this store has less inventory than the Valley Fair location. But this store is closer so if I need a new stud belt, random piece of hipster flair, manic panic, piercing adornment, or whatever else I require to set myself apart from the ordinary, this is where I find myself. I wish this store was around 20+ years ago so that I didn't have to bust my ass literally going all over the place to find just one piece of gothy or punk goodness. Most of what they sell is novelty now, and less goth/punk-centric. But I guess that's what The People want now. It's still good fun to walk through regularly to see what they have. 3 - Hot Topic is my go-to location for pins. I only buy the pins when there is a sales discount which makes the pins half their price. Everything else here is especially freaking expensive even though the quality of the products isn't stellar enough to suit the price. However, I think the redeeming part of this store would be the employees. Today, when I came in with my friend, we were greeted by Ben, who was very friendly and outgoing. He has a refreshing personality! I was floored at his excitement on the job. I expected all Hot Topic employees to be brooding or too quiet to bother with socializing with the customers, but Ben changed my opinion as soon as he broke into a dance in the middle of the store. I ordered three week ago. I spent $85 and shipping showed it would be at my house by the 20th, then I get a shipping notice that said my item was delivered, in Florida and I live in California!!!! I called and they said that people were sending out tracking numbers to the wrong people.. Poor excuses, no communication that helps. I wanted to return something because I change my mind all the time. The African American girl helping me kept asking if I wanted to exchange for something else or look around more. She was kinda pushy. If I wanted to, I would. I don't need to be pressured into it. Since I got Hot Cash last time for the stuff I got, but I thought I left it at home when she asked for it back. So I just said I didn't have it after looking through it. My bag was completely full of stuff I needed to return to another store, so I didn't see it until I searched a second time. This store is fantastic. They have a good selection, but I gave it 5 stars because the employees have always been so kind and give bend over backwards customer service!!! The cashiers are quick, yet still handle asking if you couldn't find something and getting it for you, without slowing down their line. I had some young guy help me 7x during a 12/23 full store mayhem, and he still was asking if he could help me with anything else. I've found so many gifts here and great things for myself as well. Really, there's something for almost everyone in here, even though it's mainly a fandom paraphernalia store. The selection of rare and unique clothes as well as crazy hair dye keeps me coming back. I really appreciate this Hot Topic store! You've got to check the clearance sections for unbelievable finds. Often when I've gone into this Hot Topic, it's been to find a specific fandom item, so it's average price for really popular or rare items. I will admit it: I have never been inside a Hot Topic until yesterday. My teenage daughter convinced me to go in so she could find a Gryffindor/Harry Potter t-shirt. She loved the loud blaring rap music. My SO was wandering around checking out all the hats, buttons, keychains and fingerless gloves. The young (Asian/Filipina/? ) lady who helped us was super nice. When we were walking out but still in the store I heard that same employee talking to one of the other employees about how she did a tik tok and how it got flagged for sexual content and repeated that at least 2-3 times LOUDLY!! Never thought I'd leave a review on this place, but here we go. Came in for a gift and was going to purchase a few tank tops and 2 pairs of shorts. Shopping around was fine, it's the standard hot topic. But the people who work there? Forget it. They are so rude and unprofessional. First, I'm ign ored when I ask someone to grab one of the hanging items off the wall and then the guy rolls his eyes at me when I stand by the register waiting to pay. Another lady, Marisol, rings me and is just tossing the clothes around angrily. Then when she asked "did anyone help you out today" I said no, because no one really did. The cashiers need TRAINING! Came in this morning I was approved for a hot topic credit card. I have my temporary card that they emailed me until I receive my permanent one in the mail. It clearly shows my account number/ card number. It says please use this card until my permanent one arrives with my identification card. So I ask the cashier and she says oh I'm not allowed to type in any card number. What the heck?? Then she begins to say it's a regular credit card that I am able to use anywhere, it's not just a store card? Clearly she has absolutely no idea what she's talking about! This is just a hot topic only card i know this for a fact. She made absolutely no sense as to why she couldn't type in my hot topic credit card number.... what's the point in sending me a temporary if I am not even able to use it.... I do love this store! I don't look much like i belong there, but that never stops them from being friendly toward me. My daughter loves it too... which sucks for me... she always wants to buy stuff!!! I don't think we ever leave empty handed. I walked in looking for a few shirts and to my surprise they had a few good shirt I know my boys will enjoy. Like all Hot Topics, you can't bring a damn stroller into them because the store is so damn crowded with shit and you can't see where you are going because they have to maintain the darkness and the ambiance of HATE for their image; this one unlike Valley Fair has less people usually stumbling in it like a museum. I have purchased a few things from Hot Topic seeing that they have black at all times of the year, it makes it convenient for me when I need to find shit to wear, also their clothing is starting to become a little less rave/gothic/punk/ I HATE MY PARENTS AND THE WORLD, and starting to become a little consumer friendly. Most of the stuff is overpriced, but that has been the case for eons at Hot Topic. My main and most pressing complaint is the CONSTANT haranguing by the staff, asking me easily five times within the span of 5-7 minutes what I'm shopping for, what can they help me with, etc. It's not a quick "anything I can help you find?" (though even that would be annoying *five* times or more per visit, often from the same employee multiple times within minutes), but a long, awkward, drawn-out thing that turns into a weird judgement/assessment of what I'm buying (or what I'm *not* buying), awkward incorrect predictions about what they *think* I want to buy, and so on. Memo to Hot Topic: I've asked in the past: You don't have much of anything "in the back" that isn't on shelves, so unless I need you to unlock the dressing room or get something from a ceiling-level display hook, you can leave me alone. When you bug me, and especially when you start weirdly trying to shame me for not buying something, and do it like a half dozen times in one visit, it makes me want to leave the store, not shop longer. No, I'm not chomping at the bit to buy your Funko Pop figures with the inexplicable 25% mark-up compared to most other stores. I'm sure management/corporate tells employees to stay on top of customers (and/or I guess as a "loss prevention" thing?), but bottom line: Leave me alone please while I shop. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ON-LINE unless you're prepared to wait months for your stuff! Every time I say "this is the last time" I somehow end up giving it another try but each time I'm always disappointed. I placed an order (all items were in stock), the money came out immediately, of course and then crickets!! This has happened to me before with them - ugh!!! I called 8 days later because the website still says "processing your order" - whatever that means and the customer service rep says to me "you're order looks great!" Wait, what??? If only Hot Topic existed when I was a teen. I'm sure I alone could have and would have kept them in business.....I always enjoy stopping in and looking at all the goodness HT sells. While they don't sell many items I find need for as an adult and I rarely purchase anything, the staff is always friendly, the store is clean, orderly and is regularly updated with new merchandise. My son and I were having a day at the mall and he was in search of some Angry Birds. The first gentleman who saw us was very friendly and upbeat. We could not find any on the floor, but the sales guy went in search of some in the back. While he was looking, a second sales gal was equally as friendly and upbeat asked us if we needed any assistance. When the first sales rep came back with the sad news that there were none to be had and saw the disappointment on my son's face, the were both eager to find another solution whether in their store or not. We ended up settling for some Angry Bird gummies. Even though they did not have what we were looking for, I would not hesitate to recommend this store to others. Really frustrated with hot topic right now. First, I placed an order online and ordered the wrong size shirt. I changed my mind and want to change that shirt completely with a bunch of other things (they had buy 2 get 2 for jewelry). I called this morning to change the order but they said, they can't change the order anymore once it's been placed. I asked if they could give me free shipping for the new items I'm about to order instead and I'll just return the shirt that I didn't want in store. They took my order, took my card info and 6 hours later here we are, I still have not received my confirmation email from them yet. I've already called like 10 times today and it's not like they answer right away either. Really bad experience. If you're going to buy from this company, buy in store or if you're going to buy online, make sure you get the right items because they're really ANNOYING to work with. So annoying I've gone into frustration. This is just adding stress to my holiday shopping. read more

I love the staff at this store, especially the manager, she makes you feel like she's your long lost bestie. It was my daughter's first school dance and I needed a specific dress. I had my husband call and put it on hold for the next day pick up. The staff was extremely helpful, patient, genuinely nice. Anyone can see they all honestly enjoy working with each other and it spills out into their excellent customer service. Parking still stinks, but I guess its due to all the additons they did to the mall. At least the mall is more pack than before. Prior to Westfield taking over, it was somewhat a dead mall. After all the remodeling, traffic at the mall pick up a lot. The plus side is the AMC theater there. read more
