My husband went to box lunch at this location last month and picked up a random surpirse for me- a HP dainty chain. So beautiful! They have special stuff not available anywhere else. Love Box Lunch! A second salesperson steered me toward the new small wallets they just got in, which were very cute. I was interested in looking at a certain brown suede bag that's quite popular right now, but they didn't have it in stock. A third salesperson tried to steer me toward the same style in regular leather, but I knew I wasn't interested. In the end I bought a small chenille handbag I fell in love with and a black glazed card case with a tiny cherries charm on it that sort of matches the bag. Their bags have changed a lot in the last 10 years and I admit I really like them again. I only gave the shop three stars because it bothered me having so many salespeople trying to help me and the third one was sort of aggressive. They would do better having one customer = one salesperson.

I came in right before closing (had no idea they closed early that night) and ended up having three separate orders that needed to be sorted out. It was way more complicated than I expected, and I kept apologizing but Emanuel never once made me feel like a burden. He was incredibly patient, kind, and calm the entire time. He stayed fully present, walked me through everything, and reassured me without any frustration, even though it was a Friday night and they were trying to close up. What could have been a stressful situation felt easy because of how he handled it. That level of care and professionalism is rare, and it really stuck with me. I'm so grateful for the extra time and kindness Emanuel showed to me, it made a big difference. Thank you for going above and beyond. It did not go unnoticed.

HOWEVER, it's incredibly awkward, annoying and desperately needs improvement. The way the registers are set up are cubbies on each side of the monitor/scanner/pinpad. This is so you can unload on the right side, scan in the middle, then in the bag on the left. The way this store is doing it, is the employee stands there awkwardly block the left side of the register, waiting for you to put your items on the table, max like 5 items because the table is very small. She scans, then hands it back to you...one. item.at.a.time. I am not even over exaggerating, this has happened the last 4 times I've been here. So not only am I unloading 5 items at a time, but I have to wait there for 1 item to be scanned then handed back, then I put it in the bag, until the table is cleared, then I add another 5 items and so on and so forth... If 5 below is adopting this new policy of having employees scan your items, wouldn't it make sense for them to then put them in the bag too? I mean...how does this model work when it's busy? It was actually insane how awkward and slow this whole ordeal was, it makes me not want yo go back and that sucks because my son and I like to go pretty frequently. I wouldn't even mind if an employee stood right next to me while I scanned each item. That would actually be less awkward than this ridiculous new setup.

Of course, like usual with Five Below, I ended up browsing around and finding more things than what I originally came in for lol. They have a lot of cute and affordable stuff throughout the store. I saw Hello Kitty coloring books, accessories, toys, beauty items, and a really cute selection of mini backpacks. Some of the Hello Kitty and Snoopy backpacks honestly reminded me of the Loungefly style but for a much cheaper price. They also had plenty of other characters and designs to choose from. I ended up getting a shirt too, but this is where my experience wasn't so great. While looking through the clothing section, I noticed ants crawling around the shelf and near the clothes. There were enough that I actually had to shake the shirt out and check it carefully before buying it to make sure there weren't any ants on it. I even took a picture because it definitely caught me off guard. Hopefully that's something the store takes care of because you don't want bugs crawling around merchandise you're about to bring home. Besides the ant situation, this location has a ton of good finds. You can come in looking for one little thing and easily find five more things you didn't know you wanted. The prices are affordable, there's a huge variety, and that's really the whole point of Five Below. Definitely a fun store to browse in Morgan Hill, but the clothing area could use some attention because of the ants.

My only complaint is that I found a new shirt here for the exact same price as a used one at the thrift store, which felt like a complete foul on my part! But other than that, it's a solid place. I'm shocked to see a retail store in this sorry state. Items thrown under displays, trash and grime on the floor and shelves, items carelessly thrown around, there's no love and care at all. But, that all makes sense given that the employees are verbally harassed, yelled at, and talked down to by upper upper management. If I was consistently made to feel like I wasn't good enough by my superiors, I wouldn't put any effort or love into my work either.

It truly helps the community find their clothing needs with such a popular, reputable brand like Uniqlo. Majority of us would either go the Valley Fair or Great Mall location, so this is a time saver and easier commute for the community. The Uniqlo team had an awesome fun grand opening weekend from Friday - Sunday. I went to the Friday and Sunday openings, and it was professional, fun, and well managed. I loved how the management partnered with a local groups for a Taiko performance and Ikuka baker from Los Altos for catering. The free merchandise was great from Japanese candies, tote bags, and Uniqlo knot bag. The store is well stocked with the latest collabs of one piece, mofusand, and more. The staff are very friendly and interactive with their customers. I can't wait to return to this Uniqlo!
