We also decided to splurge and share the white wine tasting. I loved their Rose and one of their white wines. We ended up buying a bottle of the Red Syrah and White Fiano as gifts for friends. What really took this place up from 4 to 5 stars was house hospitable and kind the staff was! Dana in particular was so warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in, asking how we ended up in Morgan Hill and congratulating us on our recent job offers. She even brought out some complimentary champage because she was so happy for our recent life changes! I have lived in the south AND the midwest, two places known for hospitality, but have never had a better experience with hospitality than here at MHC. We chose to do our tasting out on the garden patio. Once we got out there my first impression was of neglect and sadness. I hoped it wasn't going to be a reflection of the wines we'd be tasting. Unfortunately it was. All were bad, some worse than others. The "champagne" had no bubbles. We noticed this before we began our tasting. They all tasted like they came from bottles that had been opened weeks before being poured for our tasting. My fiancé asked if they had tasted the wines that morning to QC, and the tasting room hostess said she had. She either has no clue what the wine should taste like or she lied. Maybe both. We heard that this winery has been changing hands frequently and that in the past had produced good wine. I will keep my fingers crossed that who ever is the current owner will be able to turn this winery around. In the meantime I couldn't in good conscience recommend anyone making time to taste here.

I had a specialty vegetable cleaver that I needed repaired and sharpened. It had been used by someone to cut something they shouldn't have and there was a nice chunk missing. I brought it into the store and dropped it off. It was ready in a matter of days and the price was more than reasonable, despite them having to do some extra work to get rid of the chip. What j I appreciate it is that they did the repair in a manner that maintained the integrity of the Knife when they could've just had their way with it. I wouldn't have known the difference. They also have a nice variety of kitchen accessories and I was able to pick up a knife sheath to protect everyone from the now razor Sharp clever. It's nice having a local business that does quality work and took the time to explain my options and what was done. They deserve 6 out on f 5 stars!

He came home with money burning a hole in his pocket, and the desire to own a chef grade knife. So, we walk in on New Year's Eve eve. Yes, you read that right, the day BEFORE New Year's Eve after going from Asian market to Home Goods, and any possible place to find a better knife than the under 100 cheap, not very well taken care of knives that we own. There were many questions, and Eden patiently, and ENTHUSIASTICALLY educated us, for over an hour about knives. Knives forged in Japan by old sword makers, knives blacksmithed by specialty metalists. There wasn't a detail he couldn't say, but most importantly, he was just PASSIONATE about his craft. We returned the following day and bought a VERY expensive knife. It's everything my beau dreamed of and more. And the amount of knowledge he spread in that interaction was something that I knew needed to be recognized. So thank you for that. The person who ended up making the sale was not at all on your level, but friendly enough. Thank you Eden for reminding me of how important it is to work at a job you truly enjoy.

It doesn't matter if you work a minimum wage seasonal job and don't know all the answers, you should still try to do your best to help. She came up with excuses after excuses for why we couldn't return the item we purchased online. We had to show her the policy on the website and then she proceeded to say we couldn't return it because the box is open and there's no way to tell if the packaging is all there. Well how else do you check out a product without opening the box. We called corporate and they apologized on her behalf. It is very disappointing nonetheless that there are people out there who will shamelessly treat customers this way. We're OK with new staffs who just apologies for not knowing how to do something. What we're not OK with is someone who makes up excuses to deliberately make life harder for you.
