While at one of the registers discussing matters, this young lady's attempt to make sure I was treated like a king was beyond successful!! I honestly was expecting to be asked to call or go to customer service. OH NO!! as a matter of fact, she gave me a few options on how to take care of my dilemma. Stopped by for a couple of returns and loved how the store was set up for returns separately from the online pick up orders. They had two lines for each and clearly separated with large readable signs to help guide the way, which wasn't freaky needed as someone greeted me and directed me to returns when she saw the package in my hand. I was in and out in less than 10 mins. Would have been 5 mins but i saw some deals near check out and had to buy some Godiva chocolate and cashews for 50% off. Was even a better deal with Macy's coupons. Not sure why all the bad scores. I used to stop by here often for online order pick up orders before Covid and loved the service then. I went with my sister today to buy clothes for the holidays, and we had the worst costumer service by the cashier "Yessenia" ... when we got to the register my sister ask the cashier if she could check her rewards before paying to what she respond "I need to scan everything first and then you would see your rewards " we were like alright so at the end my sister ask again if she had any rewards accumulated and Yessenia said "oh you gotta pay first and then you can check" at this point my sister and I looked at each other like what's going on . My sister paid with her debit card and at the end she never told us if she had rewards . Forgot to mention that the lady ask in the beginning my sister for the phone number associated with her account . So my sister and was mad because Yessenia never told her if she did or not had reward points. When it came to me I did had my Macys card on me and guess what i swipe my card she didn't ask me if I wanted to use my rewards which I did knew I had 10 dollars off and she went a head and charge it on the card when I was going to pay cash and I just wanted to use my card for the rewards . At this point we were just mad confused because Yessenia looked all weird and was making no sense. We're driving home and we're like we can't believe that just happen we weren't able to used our discounts but that didn't end there when we got home Yessenia forgot to take out the alarm tag from my sister blouses . Always love Macy's as a go to for great selection and brands. However this location was not my favorite. I found two (2) great shirts on the clearance rack, along with several of others in the same brand/style/color. Only to try them on and then go to pay and realize they were not on clearance and over $90 each. Staff, clean up your store and go backs. I get that on occasion some one will lazy place an item in wrong location. I understand that, but an entire batch directly placed within the clearance rack and two different brands ? Come on now, this is poor floor management. read more

I was there 5/12/ 21 with my son around 12:45 pm I was going to buy a queen Sealy mattress cash I went up to a salesperson by the name of Sam he was wearing glasses you can tell he was bothered by me going up to him I don't know if he was having a rough day or what I showed him on my phone the mattress that was on sale for $400 that I wanted to buy and he took me instead to a twin bed and told me to try that one I reply to him that's not the one the mattress or size that I want then with a smart ass tone and a rude face expression told me to try it again, again I told him that's not the one I wanted you can tell he didn't want to be there helping me then I told him you need to work on your customer's skills and just for that, I'm not buying it. read more

This particular Macy's is selling used cosmetics as new. My wife recently purchased some cream from them and then we she got home and opened the box the item inside was clearly used (see images). The worst part was when she went to exchange it the clerk and manager refused. I have a feeling that had my wife not been a Hispanic women they would have accepted her exchange. read more

I recently added my Mom to my Macy's Credit account. When Mom realized she needed a new dress to attend a family wedding she didn't know where to shop. Mom just knew she wanted to look her best. We came to Macy's and we found a dress that looked dazzling yet, it was a bit different from what Mom usually wears. She was even hesitant to try the dress on. She finally did try it on and we took it home knowing that if she didn't like it she could return the dress. Mom wore the dress as planned and when we were done accessorizing it and styling her hair and make up she was unrecognizable. She felt so glamorous and full of life! Absolutely terrible. I ordered a couch 6 months ago, and it has yet to be delivered. It was purchased in September, and promised to arrive October. We took out our old couches in preparation, but low and behold a delay suddenly occurred and it was promised in November. Then December. Then January. Then February. Now March. Only promising thing about Macy's seems to be that they'll be one of the worst experiences you'll ever have. My disappointment is immeasurable. My grandpa has had no couches for 6 months. Nothing bad and Nothing special from this place. If I need dress clothes or fragrance this Macy's is my number one choice and with the coupons that are sometimes made available you can walk out of here pretty happy knowing you bought some quality stuff at a decent price. Not much to say about this place. I had a return. So i returned it. Placed seemed like a ghost town compared to most Macys stores. When I walked into store, i thought i won something. My return set off their theft detector sensors at the exit/entrance. One employee looked at me crazy instead of saying "welcome" or greeting me. I took off one star for that rude bitch. I get to returns area and a lady who is helping two customers asks me if i need help with anything. I told her i was returning item. She quickly called another employee to process my return. The other employee was great. Processed my return and i was out of the store. What more can you ask for? Great experience, except for the rude bitch who looked at me crazy when i entered the store. read more

CLINIQUE: I walked into the clinique counter today with the intentions of purchasing a particular item. Once I arrived to the clinique product(s) area I began to browse their new "clinique ID" gel/cream combination(s). As I was browsing, along with other customers, I noticed the abrasive attitude of the counter representatives, toward other customers. I also overheard, multiples times, the representatives gossiping amongst one another about their customer interactions and their opinions. With observing these particular behavior motives, I knew I was going to deal with ill mannered service. Of course, I was shortly approached in time and was not respected with the response I gave. I just let her know I was interested in finding out what ingredients were in the product, in order to determine what is best suited for myself. She ignored that I had asked to see the box and continued on shoving the product down my throat - when I am able to read. I was interested in taking a look at this product on my own before asking any particular questions. I am fully aware the the sales representatives for clinique are limited on their product information, where their main purpose is to push and sell the products - so I was not looking to research a sales pitch, but rather the product itself and it's function and ingredients, in comparison to my personal needs. Here is my second issue: Within a few seconds of pumping and testing out the product on my skin, Natalie abrasively snatched the product from me trying to place the product down and verbally and behaviorally expressed how unhygienic I was and looked. She never came back and answered my question of where the box to the products were, but rather went to her co-associates and began gossiping about how she thought it was disgusting for me to try a publicly displayed product. To be honest, I completely understand her lack of social interaction but the shame is she does not understand the insult she publicly humiliated me. After noticing she was avoiding to come back and "sanitizing" the product she went ahead and blatantly ignored me as I stood at the counter watching her gossip about an incident she ignored. She mentioned to her friend what a joke she thought I was, how disgusting of me, and how I probably wanted to steal. I let her finish and let her know how insulting and humiliating her action was and I should not have to do her the favor of pointing out a social norm of proper behavior. Her response was "ok," several times. No apology, nor understanding of what she had socially just done to make someone feel uncomfortable, insulted, judged and humiliated for products that are publicly displayed for trial. The most she said was "I clean every product that everyone touches, so it's not just you." However, I pointed out to her that a particular tube like cream had been opened and sampled while she was busy gossiping and I did not see her sanitize that particular product. Again, I should not have to point that out to her - IF she is doing as she claimed. It was a blatant social and could be racial issue that is not controlled at these counters. It is understood (by some) that these people working here are not specified in gaging proper behavior, however, if you work with the public there should be proper communication skill that are trained to interact with the public - and if they are, they are definitely not being put to use. Please don't insult me when you are the one working behind a counter to sell/push a product. She lost a customer and helped clinique gain a negative reputation, at this location. Just to be clear, all three working at the time were involved in the incident, as I was sincerely looking around the products prior to making my intended purchase. I am making this public because no matter how much you mention this to the company, they will not resolve this internal behavior issue. read more

This Macy's is horrible! Why? Because they do not put away stock and do not clean the store. I was waiting to get some shoes but there was no one to help retrieve the shoes. I was asked by the register lady to stand in line so that I could get the shoes. Meanwhile all the register lady did was exchange stories with a patron opening up a Macy credit card. She literally talked to them for a half an hour. I complained to the department manager Raphael, but who knows if he will tell the store manager. Look at the photos of an appalling site. I hate the Montebello Mall because there is no pride in keeping any of it clean. I'd rather drive to Santa Anita mall where everything is kept clean. read more

I needed a single pair of tennis shoes and gotTHE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was told I had to wait in the register line to ask for a pair of shoes. When my turn came after about 10 minutes the associate who told me to get in line asked if she could help the person behind me who was checking out. Annoying but understanding I calmly waited. Then when my turn came again the associate asked if she can finish checking out all the people in line behind me. There was a women behind name who had been shopping still while I had originally gotten in line. When I told the associate I'd been in line for a long time she had the audacity to say all those people where there before me when I was literally in line in front of them. I left. I'll never go back, closing out my Macys credit card because that associate humiliated me and disrespected my time. read more

I went to Macy's cosmetics department to purchase a moisturizer with SPF, and I asked the sales associate, who was helping me, what active ingredients were in the lotion. She replied, "That I don't know but you can look them up on the internet. But this lotion is safe for use and also safe for the environment, like the ocean." I reached out to take a look at the lotion and at the bottom of the bottle, the active ingredients were listed. It contained various sunscreens that have been shown to be harmful to humans (endocrine disruptors) as well as harmful to the environment, i.e. coral reefs. I am not certain how a cosmetics sales associate doesn't know that active ingredients are usually listed on the bottle. Also I am not certain if she was uninformed about the harmful effects of the listed ingredients or if she just lied to make a sale. Either way, there should be no excuse for a sales associate to make false statements about the products. If you're not sure about something, then don't say anything. Another sales associate assisted me with the purchase transaction. She asked if I was paying with credit card or with cash, and I replied cash. She ended up charging my card. Ok... Since I didn't want an outstanding Macy's statement, I decided to pay the Macy's credit statement with cash while I was there. Another associate in the cosmetics department assisted me with this and ended up inputting the wrong amount in the cash register. When asked about the error, she just said, "Yes, I input that amount." No explanation or apology. These three sales associates seemed unprofessional and incompetent. Do not be forced to purchase "no worry" furniture coverage. They don't tell you the truth and mislead you. We were told this would be refunded if we never used the coverage. Contrary to belief we were not guaranteed our money back. I would not recommend purchasing hard sell for protection plan. There are only two Macy's locations I do not mind shopping at: Macy's Herald Square in New York; Macy's in Costa Mesa, South Coast Plaza. This particular store has seen it's better days all the way back when it used to be Robinsons. What you can expect from this location is clutter, displaced merchandise, and unknowledgeable staff. I was here last week and purchased a birthday gift for a friend of mine. I was assisted by a SA in the Men's Fragrances department who hadn't a clue of Ermenegildo Zegna or Hermès. I went against my better judgment and should have just gone to Sephora or Nordstom where I would have found these fragrances. HELLO! 1982 called and they want their Drakkar Noir back! Oh, and 1994 called and they want their CK One back, too! Thank God they had Chanel Bleu! After purchasing, I asked the fella if they can gift wrap it for me at the Customer Service department. With his apologetic tone, he proclaimed Macy's no longer offers gift wrapping! What the...what? You gotta be kidding me? Sigh...reminds me of why I prefer shopping at Nordstom. read more

How exciting, my first one star review and my last time shopping at Macy's! I came here for the Memorial Day Sale and the lines were way too long. OK fine, I don't mind the wait. But then I got to the counter and they said I can't purchase my shoes anywhere else besides the shoe department. After a 30 minute wait, I left the line and headed over to the shoe department and waited for another 20 minutes. However, when I tried to purchase my wallet and purse using their deal (Buy one item, get the other for $9.99 on all sale purses and wallets), they jacked up the price of the more expensive item. Why call it a buy one, get one deal when you're going to jack up the price of the other item anyways? They told me to go to the purse department to get it taken care of. I pay for my shoes and clothes and away to the purse department I go. However, the associate at the purse department was no help at all. When I asked why they jacked up the price of my item, Edward and his supervisor unapologetically told me it's just how the system works. Wow Edward, you were no help at all! My dad had excellent customer service at the cologne section. He is a joker!! He just loves making people laugh and for that he received 6 samples of colognes and perfumes instead of just one or two!! He paid $94 with tax for the polo red cologne gift set the includes 2 colognes (regular size and a smaller one) & an after shave lotion. The bf bought a long sleeve shirt that was on clearance for only $13.35 with tax!! It was a bit slow at the register to pay the shirt & it was annoying because only one register was open even though there was another worker nearby folding clothes. read more

Tonight I went to visit the cosmetics section for a mask, I was referred to the Origin brand. After a few minutes of browsing I met the cosmetics consultant Consuelo. The exhibit was neat well organized I asked her many questions about the various types of masks. She took the time to thoroughly explain each and the benefits of each and how to apply. I purchased the most popular one along with an eye serum. She was kind enough to apply the mask while I relaxed in a reclined seated position and also applied the serum after removing the mask. She explained me the benefits of a full facial. She is a true subject matter expert wonderful communication skills and represents the brand in the first class manner. read more
