Just a really quick review. I went to Macy's yesterday and was shockingly surprised of how much of a sale they were running. Every single department had some thing that was on their "Last Act" rack. They even had a small section of shirts and pants that were listed for below $9.97. I went a little crazy. $45 later and eight shirts and two pairs of pants later. Yes, you read that correctly. I walked out of there with eight shirts and two pairs of pants all for just $45. What a deal. I don't know how long this is running for and I worry that Macy's is going out of business, but if you're looking for cheap shopping, go no further than your local Macy's. I went to Macy's in Pearlridge. Sales staff was super nice and the entire sales floors were super clean. Items were put away and those sales racks were actually on point. Run with the sale is still going. You won't regret it. read more

I think this is the best department store that I can afford in this mall. Better quality in general than Target or Marshalls, but less expensive than the more exclusive clothing stores. They do seem a little short staffed. read more

Had to pay my bill at Macy's Ala Moana haven't been there for awhile. You can pay your Macy's bill at any cashier or go the the 2nd floor to customer service. I went the the customer service counter and they practice social distancing . They got it all set you with plexiglass partition and big sticker on the floors. We purchased a Hawaiian print comforter set on January 17th, 2024 from Macy's AlaMoana, we live on Molokai. We opened the new comforter when we got home, there were small stains on the bed skirt. We aren't returning to Oahu for a while so I called and spoke to the Manager of the home goods department, Steve. He was able to pull up the sale and gave us credit for the complete purchase. I bought several pieces of Luggage today at the Macys at Ala Moana Mall in Honolulu, Hawaii. Daniel, the young man who assisted me was wonderful. I was having a terrible day-first I bought the wrong piece of luggage and had to return it, couldn't find my receipt, then couldn't find my card etc. Daniel was very patient and helped me through the entire process. Since my car was in for new tires and I had time to kill, I decided I might as well get new shoes too. Ladies, have you found heel heaven? I think Macy's shoe department is pretty close. So when I walked in and saw the sale sign....it was meant to be LOL There's a lot of guys working there and they were all very friendly, and quick to offer their assistance. I couldn't decide which heel I liked best so I felt bad for turning them down. When I finally browsed the huge selection and found something I liked, Dawn was right there to help me. Handy dandy scanner in hand, she did the quick search and found it in my size. See, it truly was meant to be! Tried it on, fit like a glove, and when I described another style, Dawn took me right to it. I don't know how many hundreds of pairs there are on display, but Dawn had it all memorized and knew exactly where to find it. read more

When you are in need for a men's suit at the last minute, I highly recommend Macy's Men's department. This happened to us when my son lost his dress shirt and tie the same night of his girlfriend's Senior Prom!! Talk about stress! Two hours before Prom starts and we are looking for a new dress shirt and tie. Thank the Heavens above for Macy's Ala Moana Men's Department. I apologize but I didn't get the very helpful lady's name that was so kind to help us. Not only did she help my son get the correct measurements for his dress shirt but she also helped him to try on the shirt. When I asked if she could help with his tie she said she couldn't but got another helpful employee to assist. She was very patient with us while helping other customers in between. The gentleman named John that assisted with my son's tie was more than helpful as well. He did not just put the tie on my son but he took a few minutes of his time to "teach" not only my son but me as well, to put on the tie. He allowed me to record him so I can use it for reference in the future if I forget how to put a tie on again. Afterwards he helped ring up our items while letting my son wear the shirt out of the store. John was also nice enough to give us a discount!! This IS CUSTOMER SERVICE at its FINEST! If Customer Service awards can be given to hard working PLEASANT people, I would give them both an award!! Thank you again to these two wonderful people working at Macy's!! This is a very focused review... I love watches. I buy way too many watches. I am always on the hunt for hard to find watches. I love Seiko, I'm actually growing in my love for Citizen, G-Shock was crazy but then it got Metal, Tissot is a safe go to, Bulova is a watch I look at but don't own... you get it, there's a list at the Macy's Ala Moana that is just amazing. Can you find Omega and Rolex here? Yes, they have resale watches that can be new to you. But the fun is how this store has tough to find Seiko, Citizen, Bulova, G-Shock, even Rado and Hamilton (from the watches I've seen). I don't like giving away a secret for how I've gotten some tough to find watches, but have to also acknowledge that Macy's Ala Moana is a watch lover's dream store. Best of all, they are getting in Seiko and Citizen watches that you really won't find anywhere else other than online. And, if you luck out, a little extra Macy's value could kick in on your watch goal at purchase. The watch/jewelry department staff are also fantastic. And the major brand reps are often in the area, so you can double click into your favorite brands. Overall, I like Macy's Ala Moana, it really feels like a flagship Macy's compared to other locations. And the people who work here are always the best! read more

Shopping with an active toddler is really not happening for me. I still have so many people on my list that I haven't even bought for. I attempted to go to the mall with her but it's quite difficult. Well here's where Macy's comes in. As soon as my daughter goes to sleep, I hop on my computer and go to the Macy's site. They have some pretty good deals and even offer additional discounts. Merchandise can come down real quick. One of the perks of shopping online at Macy's is that you can pick up at the store. Normally Macy's charges a $10.00 shipping surcharge for Hawaii but instead of being charged I just sent it straight to the store. Macy's gives me text alerts when my merchandise is ready to pick up. It's a very efficient system. They also sent me an email about where to pick it up. So apparently they have a new section on level 2 by the Juniors department. It dedicated solely to returns and online pick up. I went to pick up some of my things there yesterday. It was great. All I had to show was my ID and my order number and she fetched it from the back. Macy's online service and pickup makes it so much easier for me. I don't know what I would do without the ability to shop online for people. read more

Waited half an hour no exaggeration for the lady working the male jewelry line to even acknowledge. Just weirdly looked at me and didn't help, no one there had any sort of urgency of willingness to help me I'm so confused how a business can be ran like this. Customer service here is VERY questionable. I went to this Macy's for makeup products, and took about 30 minutes to look around. A middle-aged, seemingly white employee insisted on taking the items I got out of my hands and holding them until I was ready to pay. Almost like she was trying to get me out as soon as possible. Weird because I wasn't finished shopping, and only needed her help finding one thing. I'm pretty sure I was being profiled by her and she expected me to steal. Anyways, the entire situation was creepy and Macy's needs to train their staff better when it comes to interacting with patrons. Stop following people around and hounding them with questions--or rushing them to the register. It's already bad enough with how overpriced the place is. Sephora is MUCH better. read more

Cosmetics sale. I've never seen cosmetics go on sale. I was in Shisedo wanting to get foundation, but it sold out on my shade. NYA helped me, but I needed the wet/dry foundation. Then I mentioned that I'll have to go mac to get something comparable. She also helped me there. I needed up buying more than I came in for. Great service!!! Parking lot serves many of the multiple entries. Stacy Q in the cologne and fragrance section is very nice and knowledgable. Stacy Q might even give you up to (2) two free small samples with a purchase. They carry Versace and all brands of sunglasses. read more

I don't understand this place. It's like they don't want to sell anything. 1. Prices are hard to find. They put percentage off signs but no prices. 2. Open the Macy's app, the prices still don't show and it says "see an associate" (pictured) 3. I bought a beach blanket for 24 dollars...months later I see it on clearance...saying it was 50 dollars with 50 percent off.. they just raised the price to make it look like it was clearance (pictured) 4. Used the app to purchase something with my phone without having to stand in line. Come to find out you need to stand in line to get a receipt. We stood in line, the cashier had no idea what to do. She called a manager, he said we had to go to a different place to get a receipt. We go to another place and they called the same manager and he said to just go. It was crazy. read more

My family and I decided to head down to Alamoana Macy's for clothing shopping. Granted with the COVID, we were expecting a different experience to this shopping expedition. First off, we entered into Macy's from the mall level. We browsed the makeup for a minute and someone nicely asked us if we needed help and we kindly said no. Our adventure took us to the swim wear where we spent about 30-45 minutes browsing the racks. After we found clothing we headed up to the kitchenware. A good 20 minutes of looking at pots and pans and knives we headed to the cashier back on the mall level. No lines we quickly checked out with our new swimwear. With the walking around and browsing other departments (other than the makeup) we were greeted not once. Absolutely zero. Now I understand the precautions one takes at this moment in time but there are ways to still engage with proper retail behavior. The cashier was very grumpy and unprofessional. I won't go into specifics but don't force someone to register their phone number on the Macy's system. If you decide to head into Macy's be aware that all dressing rooms were closed I'm assuming for precautions. Or maybe the lights were broke, or mirrors cracked, or flooding.... who knows.... because customer service is like the dinosaurs. EXTINCT. On the positive side, there are hand sanitizer stations by the escalator. +1 star. read more

Macy's. Macy's to me is a department store with a bunch of coupons that you can't use on anything! But if you somehow happen to be able to use it, you get quite the savings. Sometimes, you even get additional savings that you didn't even know about! Macy's at Ala Moana has always been the same since it was Liberty House. Same doors, same escalators, same displays of cosmetics, same displays of shoes, etc. And it's still the anchor store for that side of Ala Moana. The original side. As with huge department stores, you'll get a range of employees from the very courteous and friendly to the disgruntled and impatient and to the spaced-out and mindless. I've experienced all of these types. One instance I was trying to buy a gift for a lady, so I figured some kind of hand cream or lotion or whatnot. I was at the station nearest Starbucks and I got the most bitchiest employee there. She was totally not helpful, asked me a bunch of unanswerable questions, and didn't even want to hear my question. I felt like because I was a guy purchasing items for women, she just totally disregarded me. I immediately left and went to Nordstrom where I found a very helpful person and made my purchase there. Some areas have TONS of employees around such as cosmetics and shoes, but some areas like home and kitchen, you'll barely find anyone. More often that not, I'll find cash registers with no one behind and not any employee around. If I do find one, they'll say they are "busy." Recently, I had a good experience at the cosmetics section with my wife. Nanaka was very friendly and very helpful and informative. Unlike many of her co-workers working in that same area, she was not pushy or forced us to purchase anything we didn't want to. Sometimes I feel a lot of them are sharks just preying on customers. Overall, Macy's is a decent store to shop in, and is pretty much a mixed bag of employees and items. Clothing, cosmetics, accessories, and home sections are definitely the strong areas. The kitchen area is just mainly Martha Stewart crap, and everything else is weak and lack variety. The prices on things are okay after savings, of course. read more

Macy's is more my speed, department store wise. They sell good products at affordable prices. Plus, they always have coupons that they mail out. I like their clothing, handbag, and cosmetics departments. I also shop there for clothes for my son. For the most part most of the salespeople are helpful. They see me browsing around and will ask if I need help. I was at the MAC counter looking for their Lunar New Year collection. It's sold out everywhere and online. It's a limited release and they're not restocking. I heard that they just got their shipment in. I got there and sure enough they had it. Yay! I got the eyeshadow palette, the duo blush kit, and two of the five lipsticks. That's the one thing about Macy's. You can always count on them to have the in demand merchandise. The department that I went to was located on the 3rd floor. On a Thursday, I was looking for something and bought it . I asked the employee if this merchandise is going to be on sale for the One Day Sale. She said that I'm not sure because employee from another dept. puts up the sale sign and they are not notified until what merchandise are on sale until day of sale. A prices adjustment can be made within 10 days. On Saturday, I brought a print out of merchandise from Macy's website with online sale price. Kiana returned my purchase from Thursday and rang up my merchandise with the online sale price. She was really awesom and didn't make a fuss the merchandise was not on sale for One Day Sale. read more

An Aunty Audrey helped us in the knife-ware section. She helped us pick out a Santoku knife on sale for Black Friday and we could not be happier. She not only taught us about the knife and how it is superior to other knives, but also how to sharpen it, where to go for servicing, and to come back with any questions. Macy's joke sale - I saw a product on sale for $14.99 on Black Friday but failed to purchase it, thought the sale was at least two days. But go back the next day in Saturday. It was $26.45. Well too bad, I missed the chance. Luckily, I don't need to purchase the product but it's good to have it. I went back another week later and it states 30% off the original price to celebrate Christmas. I asked the sales clerk to help me check the price. After he scanned it, he told me the original price is $45 and now it is $31.45. with 30% off. So the moral of this is don't miss the black Friday sale. She showed it to me with sincere concern. I figured it's probably from the hanger while shipping. She then called alteration to come to counter and look and the pants if it can be smooth out. Wow I was blown away with her genuine concern on my behalf! I'm old and have been shopping for over 50 yrs and I am a shopaholic and with Bernadettes attitude is rare and far in between. If I could give less stars I would. I tried to return some pants I bought and was told the return policy changed to 30 days. Last I recall, it was 90 days and before that I think it was 180 days? Macys has consistently decreased the window for their return policy which seems to indicate they're far more interested in profit and bottom line than customer service. The sales person was willing to let me return it but at the current price which was ridiculously lower- why would I bother? I asked when they changed the return policy and was told March 2023. I also asked where this was posted or how people are supposed to know and was told that it was at the bottom of the receipt. Maybe it's my fault I don't read the bottom of every receipt I receive, but I believe it should have been noted on signage in the store, sales people could have mentioned it, circled it at the bottom? It seems sneaky to not advertise it more to inform the customer. Mention it on Instagram, come on make it known! Giving the customer one chance to return it (2 freaking weeks out of the window) and informing them of the policy and that this is the only exception, would have gone far with me. I wouldn't have tried to take advantage once I knew. The sales person wasn't very patient or kind about this either which didn't help as I was already extremely annoyed. Macys also doesn't ship to Hawaii free regardless of your card status or how much you spend in your order, which is so silly compared to what other department stores offer. Can you imagine the 30 day return policy if you buy gifts for people?! Good luck if you buy it too far in advance and they don't fit the item, like it, or already have it. Macys is giving me more and more of a reason to not shop there. I'm very much considering closing my credit card account because it just doesn't seem worth it anymore. Would much rather shop at Nordstrom or local boutiques that still focus on customer service. No wonder so many of their stores are closing! read more

If you park on the rooftop level, once you enter it seems almost deserted without the Pineapple Room and section across from it. However this is now the level for Last Act 70-80% clearance racks. If you are a Women's Plus you can find similar savings one floor up in that department. It's only September and yet Christmas has made its appearance at Macys. I like this department store because there are always sales, clearances and they send you coupons too. Right now they have the Thanks For Sharing Campaign going on and your purchases will add up and you will get a check for 10% of what you spent after the New Year. The merchandise is more reasonable than other department stores in the new wing of Ala Moana. They also have the donate $5 for breast cancer and you save 25% for a few more days. They recently offered 30% off designer brands and 15% off cosmetics which was appreciated. read more

I had the absolute worst experience ever at Macy's men's shoe department at the Ala Moana mall. I arrived at 1:00 PM to buy a pair of Alfani men's shoes to replace a pair that I had also purchased here at Macy's. There were 5 saleswomen and 1 salesman present, and I was the one and only customer. No one paid any attention to me, much less ask me if I needed assistance. I picked out the pair of Alfani shoes that I wanted, and I waited to see if anyone would assist me with the size 9 that I needed. Not a single person came to assist. I held on to the shoe, sat down near the cash register, and waited for a solid 15 minutes. Nothing; no one; no one to assist. I watched the 6 salespersons as they gathered in the hallway to chat. No service after 15 minutes. I walked out and away, upset and angry. I ended up going online to purchase those Alfani shoes. Today marked the first day of my last day at Macy's. I am done. read more

I even suckered in and got a macy's card which gives you more discounts sweet right? Ok, so this location has been around even after the mall has expanded and changed. This one hasn't changed much. First Floor: Mens section Mall Level (2): women, juniors, shoes, jewelry, purses, perfumes, makeup, skincare and a starbucks Third Floor: Business clothes for women and pineapple room used to be there Fourth Floor: Home (bedsheets, kitchen and all your holiday decors) When Macy's has a sale I feel like I get more bang for my bucks. Quality is higher end, you'll be buying designer stuff for steep deals. Honestly I feel that it's better than nordstrom rack.... bloomingdales is a department store too but Macy's will always win with me cause my wallet is still full. When ever I need to purchase anything such as clothes, pots and pans, shoes, makeup, jewelry. My place to go is usually Macy's. Macy's is great. I love Walmart, but for many things I will purchase it from Macy's. One.... because Macy's has COUPONS and their return policy beats every other merchants. Those little sticker they add to everything you purchase makes a huge difference. I always miss place my receipts and if I used my Macy's credit card they can find my purchase easily. So no problem with returns. I also purchase lots of things on line by using the Macy's app. The only thing I don't like is they do charge you a $10.00 service fee to mail items to Hawaii, but if you place your order at the store no service fee charge. Plus if you are a platinum card holder you pay no shipping fee's and your order arrives in less then a week. Ala Moana Macy's is my favorite. Because the store is larger then most they have much more merchandise and if they don't have the item your looking for in stock they can tell you what Macy's might have it. Macy's is a one stop shop. They have all sorts of clothing, kitchen supplies, bedding, make-up, and much more. They have seats and restrooms on each level. Macy's is the first place I think of when looking for something to wear. They usually have sales and additional sales if you have an account with them. Lots of options for everyone. I came here with a friend to look for a white dress. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the perfect one, but that's okay. I feel that this Macy's is the largest one compared to the others. Plus Liliha Bakery will be opening soon and across the way from Lanai and Lucky Strike :) The customer service is a hit or miss. Some days they're helpful and others I can't find one when I need help. The fitting rooms are scattered throughout the store but there's usually not an attendant to help with your needs. It's more like a self-help service so don't expect someone to help you find a size or style your looking for. read more

Macy's always has great sales. This led me to do some shopping for my daughter for some clothes. This time we went shopping for dresses. Selection is pretty good, but there aren't a lot of dresses in small sizes. Again, they do have frequent sales, and you typically do get a discount if you use your Macy's charge card. Customer service I would say is average. The associates working here don't seem overly enthusiastic about their job and service can be slow. read more
