Grossest Macy's I have been to. First of all, I was coming here just for a pair of white flats. It was really hard to look for a simple pair of shoes around a huge mess of shoes scrambled all over the place. Workers bored and texting on their phones! I asked a lady who seemed to be "busy" and asked where the nearest exit was because all the gates were shut. She randomly pointed to a direction and I walked there... she led me to the restroom? And after I asked her that simple question she just talked on her phone again, not to mention she was a worker at Macy's. Super rude and biased workers who chat with customers their own race and pay no attention to customers who actually care. So never going here again and I bought my pair of shoes from the Payless inside the Santa Anita Mall!!! Way better^ read more

This store is pretty representative of other Macy's stores. It's large and well laid out. It has multiple levels. The staff is friendly enough. Merchandise is fairly easy to find. This location is within the Glendale Galleria, which I try to avoid due to the crowds and difficulty parking. I prefer to go to Burbank or even Eagle Rock. parking - free garage parking, but the Galleria always seems to be busy, so parking here can be a nightmare. read more

I brought my mother into the store in order to purchase a new jacket. She was unsure about exactly what she needed and the size. While several employees shrugged it off and simply pointed in the direction of the women's clothing section, one of them, Hasmik Iskandar, spent a lot of time and effort to help my mother find exactly the jacket she needed, and even helped her multiple times with different options and sizes to make sure everything was perfect. Hasmik was very pleasant and helpful, especially considering the holiday time of year when things can be a bit messy and the clothing racks can get a little disorganized. She took the time to go through all of the racks rather than simply have my 73 year old mother wander through them aimlessly. Came I on Black Friday to buy some boots. Found a good deal (99.99 - 25% off), the boots I wanted they only had the floor sample left so when I asked for a discount they gave me an additional 20 percent off. Everything was good until I got home and realized the cashier forgot to put the sample boot inside the box ( I was home already ). I drove back and spoke to the manager and was given an additional 10 percent off so the 140 boots came out to 50 with tax. Make sure you check your box before you leave and ask for discounts they usually give you 10% off just to show they appreciate you I'm glad the managers were kind and made up for their mistake by giving me additional discounts read more

It seems Macys has changed their return policy for the millionth time. Now it's 90 days instead of 180 days. I was out of State for couple of months trying to return couple Xmas gifts 2 days ago and found out I missed the deadline by 3 days. They will be losing customers for sure. read more

I would be remiss if I did not share something that occurred today during my retail associate training at this store. During my first day training and while touring the store with one of the stores training executives, I noticed an Apple store bag hanging on the end of a clothing fixture. Mind you, I was following behind this employee who simply walked past the bag. The bag, which in no way resembled trash, appeared to be weighed down. I abruptly stopped bringing attention to the bag. Here is my disappointment, this employee, especially in a role as important as hers, tried to dismiss the bag off as trash. That's bad enough, showing no care for the presentation of the store. When she noticed my look of disapproval at her dismissing the bag, she walking over to the bag, looked inside and found a complete set of Apple, earphone's, an Apple phone and perhaps other accessories. The bag was full. Only then, did she remove the bag saying she'd take it to lost and found. She complimented my observation. We were actually on our way to loss prevention for me to be meet the staff. She even told that employee what i noticed. If the merchandise was actually recovered by the purchaser, my actions alone probably saved them thousands of dollars. Can you imagine being trained by an employee, a principal employee and showing them how to be responsible and extremely helpful. I'm African American and she was not, yet for all the wrong treatment we receive it was me, who saved the day. I'm certain no mention, no thanks from the owner of the items will come my way. How can she face me when I return. It is my expectation that these reviews are read and if I suffer any retaliation or suddenly lose my job, I'll know it was because of this review. I'm a leader, having to follow someone who doesn't know how to properly lead. It's actually quite upsetting. read more

I was on the second floor today, 01/06/18 between 1500 and 1530, buying a dress, and was with my husband who doesn't speak Armenian (I am Armenian, and fluent in Armenian). So, obviously we were speaking English while we were waiting in the line for good 15 min, at least. This is what the cashier (there were 4 of the cashiers behind the counter, and only one was working with the customers!), telling another cashier "Take care of THOSE" in Armenian. Really? Srants??? Came here on the weekend with my little sister. We were in the shoe area looking and being picky with shoes. This older lady helped us with everything and she was amazing. Really nice regardless of how picky we were. My sister has an addiction with shoes so she's very special when it comes to shopping for shoes. The lady that helped us had a positive attitude and even recommended certain styles and colors. We were happy to make a large purchase with her and I'm glad she helped throughout the way. The cashier came back looked at me and then another lady came up to ask for a shoe size and was helped before me too. We came to this Macys to do some dress shopping. They have a good option of dresses and sales. One of the workers, Bryan I think it was, helped us a lot and was very nice. We went upstairs to the third floor to look for a strapless bra and decided to pay up there. We paid, but for some reason their security magnet device was not working so we were told to go back to the dress department to have it removed and to just show the receipt. We headed down and the dress department line was so long and we didn't want to wait since we just needed to remove the tag. We went on the other side where the juniors department was and tried telling the cashier our situation. She stared at us and just ignored us. We stood there like really?? Finally it was our turn to be helped and the same Asian woman, she has that resting bitch face and thinks shes better than you with her red jacket, tells us we have to go to the dress department and we told her our situation. She didn't believe we had just bought the dress. We showed her the receipt, date and time, like hello bitch. We were getting frustrated and she was in the dress department when Bryan was helping us, so unless she has short term selective memory, there is no way she could have forgotten us. She walked us to the dress department and I guess finally realized she was in the wrong and helped us and gave us a better dress bag to use. We were ready to leave, but decided to go and look at their dress shoes. This whole section was a mess. Like shoes everywhere all over the floor with boxes and packing paper and hardly anywhere to sit. We weren't helped so a worker was walking by and we asked if he can help us and if it's his department, he looked at us and said no and walked away. Like SOOOOO rudely. no sorry, nothing. We looked at each other like is this douche bag serious right now?? Finally someone else in the department, Nareg I think, helped us and we left because they didn't have the shoe size in stock we needed. Hire more qualified employees!! This place is a disorganized mess. I went in to get a single pair of 'last act' jeans. My size didn't have a tag and appeared to be the last pair. I went to 3 employees over the course of 30 minutes, all with conflicting information. At first I was told to go grab a similar pair from the same brand, so I went scanning the racks for another 15 mins, but when I finally found a pair by the same brand, I was told the item I wanted to buy was 'probably more expensive' even though none of them could find the actual price. They then tried to scan a pair of Bitton jeans and charge me for those saying they were similar when they were quite clearly different. When I refused that they then said they would send someone to go look for another pair AGAIN after I already spent FORTY FIVE MINUTES trying to purchase a single pair of black Calvin Klein's style 026 slim 30x30's. There was a time when I loved Macy's; however, for a few years now the quality of their staff has gone down the drain completely. I have shopped at Macy's for years both on the east coast and west coast and the scenario I come across is always the same. Cashiers are happy and cheerful to meet you, they then proceed to ask you to open your own members account. Upon politely telling them I am not interested I am immediately treated like a second class customer. I have had this experience every single time I have gone to. This is no exaggeration. On one occasion after a male cashier rang up a shirt I was buying it came up higher than the sale sign advertised. After refusing to open a Macys account this one helpful happy employee turned into a rude childish man-baby. I asked him to please check the sing posted on the rack as I think the price was higher than advertised. His exact words were "no its whatever the register says it is". Didn't even look me in the eye and stated a conversation with a coworker on a topic unrelated to anything regarding work. Another occasion a female employee came across as the happiest person. I was so grateful for her upbeat attitude. I stopped by after a long day researching at the NIH in Bethesda Maryland. I was a new guy in the genome center studying in a research lab. I was completely overwhelmed and just wanted to go back to my hotel and die, but I decided to do some "retail therapy first". This woman open a dialogue told me about her day and even made a joke as she rang up my purchase. She was such a wonderful person I was so happy she helped me with my purchase. As soon as she asked me to open a Macy's account I politely said no thank you. After that her demeanor and attitude did a complete 180. She did not look me in the eye either! I was shocked and saddened. I even felt guilty for telling her no. When I told her goodbye and wished her well all I got was a "hummmm". People do not shop at Macy's for deals. All the items are overpriced. We shop for the environment and the experience and the convenience. Lose that and you lose your customers. That is the reason why I have not returned since and never will. To this day I have $100.00 in Macy's gift cards I have not used just because I have no interest in shopping there again. I thought to myself, "Yes, lady, I just hung the clothes and gave them over to YOU because I was going to then snatch them from your hands to buy them and thanks for the suspicious look". My wife's words: Wow. Just spent 35 minutes trying to track down a dress I purchased for my 11 month-old daughter here. I purchased a size 6-9 months, and of course it's too big for my little mini, so I called the store to see if they had it in a 3-6 months so that I could put it on hold. The first time I called the lady said she couldn't help me because she was too busy. Uhhhh yeah. So I just kind of hung on the line until she finally decided she would put me on hold and then help me. I gave her the number off of the receipt AND the dress twice at this point and described it. Woman: No. It says 000000 So I call a different Macy's, give them the exact same number and the tell me they don't have it but their computer shows Glendale has 3 in the size I need. I call Glendale back, ask the lady to please check the computer, gave her the number, she finds it in the system, describes the dress and tells me they don't have it.
