If I could give a 0 stars I would do that, just move to this area 2 years ago and this Macy's is always dirty and empty, they do not have variety and the make up department it's the worst, I was just there on Friday evening and there was only like 2 or 3 girls around just talking to each other and not paying attention to customers, had to wait like 30 minutes for someone to finally come and asked me If I need it help, she was not smiling and was not giving me a good customer service, she was rude and not happy to be there, I was asking questions about makeup and options she was not helpful at all, and this was at the clinic department, and then she was in a hurry, honestly this is not the first time I see these actions with these employees at this Macy's location, so sad that makes not want to go back to this Macy's, I will have to commute to another Macy's from now on !!! read more

I was able to do a successful return with Olly who was wonderful. I came back 15 minutes later to do a second return but it was the furthest thing from pleasant. HEATHER (white skinny woman) was rejecting customers telling them all of macys across the United States couldn't accept returns while her coworkers two feet beside her were executing returns. I told her I will wait for the other associates as I did a successful return just moments ago. A MANAGER who was heavy set, white colored skin, and had short- medium length curly black and orange-yellow hair came. Heather then loudly MOCKED me in a high pitched voice towards the manager who giggled then proceeded to RUDELY pretend to assist me. The manager then handed me off to a nice associate who returned my items in 1 minute. -Heather needs to be retrained or fired. Working customer service means servicing customers. Leave your attitude at home. -Also that manager should not be a manager letting her associates mock people to the point of almost tears. Side note Heather also treated a Latino customer very poorly right before my transaction and treated me an Asian woman with no respect. She needs to go through RACIAL TRAINING as she only seems to get along with white women. read more

Okay so I hate going go the mall, let's just get that out there, but Macy's makes it super easy to purchase stuff online and pick it up at the store. The pickup location is on the second floor near the Womens Active department. Be prepared to show I.D. and invoice/order #. I learned that you can also return or exchange items purchased at Macys.com at any register in Macy's- you don't have to ship it back or go to a specific department to do so. This was a very unpleasant experience! Nina in the jewelry department must have been having a bad day or something. I hope a manager will read this. I went to the jewelry department on Friday, Feb. 24th near closing time. No one was there. I saw an employee walking by and asked her if she could find someone to help me. She pointed out two female employees leaned up against a counter with their arms folded. They could see the employee was pointing me in their direction yet they made no move to assist me. Since I knew it was almost closing time, I wanted help in a hurry. I went over to ask if one of them could tel me the price of some sterling silver earrings that were in a locked case with no label. An employee named Nina finally came over with a look and body language of disinterest. She said she needed to find the key to unlock the case. She seemed to be taking a while so I told her I would go upstairs to look at something else and come back down in a few minutes. When I came back down, Nina still had not found the key to unlock the sterling silver earring case. I asked her if she wanted to sell any jewelry tonight. She did not comment. I moved to stand next to the jewelry case. The other employee, an African American woman with an asymmetrical hair cut told me the jewelry in the case I was standing next to was 'of a certain cost' and it was 'expensive'. I asked if she could tell me how much it cost. She repeated that it was expensive. I was getting a little irritated at this point. I felt like one employee was stalling over the key and the other one was telling me the jewelry I was wanting to look at was expensive. As if to say I couldn't possibly afford it. I asked what was taking so long to find the key. Sideways hair lady said the key was locked in a box and Nina had to wait for it to open. I asked her why neither of them told me this while leaving me waiting. She walked away. Nina finally got the key out of the box under the register and as she came over to the case told me (once again) that the earrings I wanted to look at were expensive. I asked her to tell em how much they cost. They were on sale for 55% off plus and additional 15% off if my Macy's card was used. I just wanted to know how much they were going to cost. I selected three pairs of earrings and told her I'd purchase them. She kept looking nervous the whole time she was ringing them up. My husband walked up and later remarked that the lady (Nina) kept looking at me funny like she was afraid of me or something. At the end of the transaction I noticed Nina only put my earrings in tissue paper. I told her I figured since they were so expensive (as she and her coworker kept reminding me) that she would at least put them in individual boxes. She looked like this was an issue but complied. I left with my purchase feeling completely unsatisfied by this purchase experience. I will not shop at this location's jewelry counter again :( read more

I stopped into Macy's for a tops 10 minute purchase and had parked right outside on the other side of the mall. As soon as I made my purchase, I turned to leave, and found the door I'd just entered through was locked. I was told very condescendingly by the staff that the door could not be opened once it was closed. Almost all their doors were locked, meaning I had to walk all the way around the mall to get to my car again. There must be another way. I know shoplifting is a problem, but treating customers like criminals cannot be the only answer. Super bummed. read more

Hello, Macys, and Thank You for the $10 giftcard sent to me before my upcoming birthday! Because I had this card I went online to purchase a number of things as a treat to myself. During the check-out process I applied your current discount code which gave me 15% off of my purchase. Nice! I couldn't find a place to enter my giftcard code so I called your 800#. I was surprised and very disappointed when I was told that I could only apply ONE discount to my order. Macys does not allow the "stacking" of discounts to get the best possible deal. Along with this, Rackuten was offering 10% back through the use of their app which also would have added to my total savings. I asked the Macys rep if there was any way the birthday giftcard could be applied to my order. No. One Discount Per Order. Period. Because of this I decided to not follow through with this purchase. And I'm considering closing my Macys credit card account because it's just not worth the struggle to actually use ANY of the coupons you provide from time to time. There are way too many restrictions and conditions to meet that make it next to impossible to actually get any discounts. You really should consider BENEFITTING your long-term and current customers because you've lost this one + my family members with whom I've shared this story. Oh, well. read more

Overall, this Macy's is fine, ton of great employees but the management is horrible! One of the managers, I believe her name is Brandy, kept on harassing one of the employees (a black man with locs). She prevented him from working and helping customers by calling him into her office. I believe I even heard her call him the N word with a hard "er". I've lived in the area for most of my life, and this Macy's has been around for as long as I can remember. Shopping here has always been pleasant, and I've never had a problem here. This particular review is for two recent experiences with the men's watch department. The first one was for a pickup of a watch that I purchased online. The associate was very helpful and the transaction was very quick and smooth. The second experience took place a few days ago when I had to exchange that very same watch because it had just mysteriously stopped working. This time I dealt with a different associate, but she was also very helpful and accommodating. I wound up choosing a different watch and am very happy with it. I will keep this one short and sweet like me ;) Do you shop in the Jr's section? do you love shoes? do you like to smell good?then this is the Macy's for you. 1st floor: Jr's dept. by far has the best selections on clothes and the people behind the counter are always so friendly. The fitting room is nice and clean. Make up counters help can be iffy I only have one complaint MAC you can never get help there or a simple acknowledgment that you've been waiting forever HELLO I am right in front of you. On the other hand Clinique and the other counters tend to be more customer service savvy. Men's wear also has good selection and yes I love to stop by the men's counter and smell the men's cologne.ohh so good. Accessories: I like it all, and you can even score and apple product as they have an Apple vending machine. 2nd floor: shoes, shoes and more shoes! enough said they carry a large selection of the latest foot wear. 3 floor: undies, home good, and kids section, as far as toddlers they tend to have a real small selection for boys here. Watch out when you use gift cards! I purchased something using a gift card and putting the balance on my credit card. I told the associate I was going to return one of them and all she said was to bring in the receipt. (I wanted to try out the best option at home). When I tried to return it, Macy's wanted to only give me 1/2 on my credit card and the other 1/2 on a gift card. The manager was rude and kept cutting me off and told me that it was store policy to do 1/2 and 1/2, even though i put the balance on a credit card. I got my money back on my credit card but just the hassel of this makes me 1) not want to shop at Macy's and 2) not want gift cards. The manager told me I should have done 2 different transactions and that I should have known better - Watch Out! read more

One recent morning I woke up and decided to finally spend the gift cards I'd collected for Macy's. Turns out I had more money than I thought and so set out on what I thought would be a mini shopping spree. Eh, not so much. My first issues came with trying to find my size. Many of the racks of clothes were scrambled up and hangers marked Medium held XL items and vice versa. Okay, not off to a great start, but I was DETERMINED to spend these gift cards! After much looking, I found some great butt jeans in the Levi's section and a cute blue top with crocheted details nearby. My next stop was the purses. So many choices, yet not so many. A lot of the purses are very similar in style or appearance between the different brands. The whole wall of Dooney and Burke was covered with bright single toned purses in very basic styles. I needed something versatile and thought I'd found it when I wandered into the Le Sak section. I found a really cool purse that can be made into a back-pack then back to a handbag in seconds. I wasn't too fond of the print, bought it anyways and ended up returning it the next day. After returning the purse I got some help in the purse section from a woman with short blonde hair, glasses and a heavy (German?) accent. She was really helpful and didn't hover while I was shopping. Instead, she checked in on me every 10 minutes or so or whenever we crossed paths. I was hoping to score a backpack purse (my kid likes to run) and a nice handbag (hence my excitement over the last bag) but their selections of both didn't produce anything I had to have. Sure, I could have spent $250 on a purse that second day (and almost did), but I knew I needed clothes and decided against doing so. Their jungle of discount purses was too much for me to try to sift through. It's literally a big ol' table with a mountain of purses that may as well have been dropped from a chute in the ceiling. I really thought I'd have better luck here. I even tried their shoe section and didn't find anything I liked enough to spend the money on. Those butt jeans though - mee-yow! read more

It was empty in there so I asked if she could measure me ( i have no idea my size- I had major surgery in September to treat breast cancer) She was putting bras back on a rack, she says "im with a customer." There was one lady looking at stuff like 30 feet away. I grabbed a few sizes. I will just try stuff on at home. This is why these types of stores are closing. I had the misfortune of going to the LensCrafters inside Macy's instead of the mall. The Optician/sales person pulled a fast one on me and I was stuck paying extra for lightweight lenses that I was not aware of until I returned to speak with another sales person that explained what happened but stated she could not change. When I made my purchase I understood the extra for insurance and for the glare film but not for the lightweight lens. My entire shopping experience is made easy for a guy like me who hates shopping. Also many guys can relate when their lady goes shopping. . Macy's customer service leaves a lot to be desired and the Fairfield Ca store is the worst in my humble opinion. I have been a Macy's card holder for over 40yrs. I purchased a few things at Macy's in NY while on holiday with my husband. Once I returned home, I realized that the sensor had not been removed from one of the items. I figure it would be no big deal, as I had my emailed receipt and I used my Macy's platinum card for the purchase. Boy was I wrong. I was treated like a common criminal and completely humiliated. The tall African American woman with glasses and messy braids called everyone in the store that she could think of to examine my receipt, interrogate me before finally agreeing to remove the sensor. Did I mention that I had both my electronic receipt and I had used my Macy's PLATINUM card. Surely they should have been able to trace the purchase. I immediately went home and emailed corporate customer service and never received a response. Indifference an back of customer service starts at the top and trickles down. Macy is not what it use to be! I have since moved on and only shop there when absolutely necessary and I can't make it to Nordstrom or Neiman's in Walnut Creek at Broadway plaza. read more

This macys is the worst macys i have been to in this country. Long lines on the cash register, rude employees. There are no employees at the store to help. And the worst thing is i have to wait in line for 20 minutes so that they can open a credit card for the customer in front of me. This is not a bank; it is a store! As for the quality of merchandise; it had gone down the hill; it is no different than H&M or Forever 21; even the quality of the name brands sold at macys (such as Calvin Klein, DKNY, etc......) is so bad. IMMIGRANT DISCRIMINATION! MY wife tried to order a couple watches online. After several attempts she enlisted my help. Sure enough, their software says she is an unverified person so they cannot continue with her purchase. Unverified? So I call Macy's and the CSR tells me that Macy's uses a 3rd party system and that according to them, my wife doesn't live at my house. She's been there for 2 years and has a drivers license and SS number and regular mail. They hem and haw and I ask to speak to a supervisor. The lady (she gave me the name Rove and employee #91145785) gets passive aggressive about that and puts me on hold, then comes back and pretends not to hear me, then hold again. After repeating back to each other Hello? Hello? a few times she hangs up. Call back, finally get a manager. My wife is in tears, she can't believe she is being treated this way. We are people trying to use money to purchase a product, it shouldn't be a huge hassle. She wants these watches for her friend's birthday and she can't see to find them anywhere else. She's super upset that a company needs to "verify" her before taking her money. We both feel that she is being discriminated against because she is an immigrant and does not have over 2 years of an online paper trail. Why the hell should she? Just take our GD money and give us a product! So sad... After she got upset with the manager they agreed to let us purchase the watches under MY name. They took my $$$ and gave us a confirmation. Later that day we get an email saying whoops your bank declined the payment. I've had zero issues with my bank in 15 years however I called them just to make sure. They said Macy's charged the amount and it was authorized. Called Macy's again, they said nope we can't use that card. This is a debit card with much more $ in the account than what was charged. I asked if we could use another card. They said the system wouldn't let them change payment methods. I hung up on them and after discussing it with my wife we have decided never again to set foot in a Macy's store, look at their ads or visit their website. I went into the Clinique counter to purchase smart moisturizing cream and they had a huge sign saying if you spent 35 dollars you got a free sample bag full of makeup and moisturizing samples so even though they were busy I decided to wait and buy the cream I needed since they had the cool give away bag. I waited 15 minutes and then was helped and my purchase was like 85 bucks and so she brings two different sample bags and lets me pick one and then as I'm about to pay she tells me I can come back in 4 days and pick up my sample bag. What??? Why would I want to do that? There is nothing on the sign saying you won't get it now. I pointed that out to her and said I dont even live around here to come back and pick it up later. She says yea its a presale right now so I cant give it to you till the 29th. Long story short after that junk I didnt spend my 85 dollars there!! Very bad business in my opinion and a great way to chase off guests from coming back. Take down your sign which clearly is lying. read more

However she did take her time and matched my makeup perfectly to my skin tone. She was very knowledgeable and ended up being a real sweatheart. Went to Estee Lauder counter for concealer and loose powder. They went above and beyond to color match me. I have difficult skin to match due to the fact I have melasma and hyper pigmentation. They took their time until I was satisfied with the product colors. I was with my elderly father they offered him some treats and a place to sit and wait. Wonderful service. I like Macy's. I'm a California girl whose momma dressed like Lucille Ball and "Leave it to Beaver's mom," on a regular basis. She wore pearls to dinner, the whole nine yards. So after Capwell's, we started going to Macy's. And they always had what you needed. Not always cheap, but always there. So yesterday I saw a sign about a "class action" lawsuit for cosmetics and perfume. I didn't have time to check it out right then. So today I did my 411 and told my daughter to hop in the car since I was eligible and so was she. While enroute, we called and made sure they were participating. They had a message on the recording before they even talked about anything else, explaining what to do. When we got there, there were signs posted at the entrance, sending us to the upper level. There was a line out of the door and around the railing, almost to Applebee's. I was a little scared, but figured I had nothing to lose. We barely had time to get a lemonade while we waited, the line moved very well. The staff were friendly and courteous and they all were on the same game plan. I walked away with Georgio Armani Bath Gel and my daughter received Lancome Mascara. Good Job Team Macy's. read more

I recently stopped here to see if they had any peacoat's in a nice cut for my beautiful shape, LoL! Lucky for me I did find a very nice Calvin Klein coat that fit me so perfect, and it was on the sale rack. One problem, of course, no price on the price tag. No prob I just went up to the cashier who told me with the clearance price it would run me about $130!!!!!
