I couldn't find much in the lingerie department during my visit. There wasn't much selection and the section was in disarray. The store appeared clean otherwise and there is always plenty of parking. I was able to find a couple dresses in another department that were even on sale so that was nice. I encountered 3 sales people. The first worked the perfume counter. When I entered the store she asked if I needed help finding something. No smile. It felt ingenious. The 2nd appeared to be working where I found the dresses. I asked for assistance and was met with indifference. No smile. The 3rd was at the register. She was pleasant at checkout but was preoccupied initially with colleague banter. Overall I would go again and hope for a more pleasant experience. read more

I went in last month the lady at the makeup counter helped me even had me pay without my husband id. This month she made me wait multiple times to go talk to her manager even though I had my id and my husband's to make our payment for the new couch we bought last month. I had to have him come from Napa to make the payment himself in person because the lady didn't want to help me pay our payment. Now I'm cutting up his credit card and will no longer make purchases from Macy's. I will return to speak with her manager since I am handicapped she made me go to and from the store multiple times asking for more stuff to tell me I couldn't make the payment. Went into Macy's to look for a handkerchief with my boyfriend for his son's 8th grade graduation. We were encountered by an associate named Roger, I think his name was Roger? He's an older tall gentleman around 70s I think? Anyway... Cool dude. He's customer service was phenomenal. He showed us the direction to the bathroom and had an amazing experience (conversation, dont get it twisted) in the elevator with this guy. He definitely deserves a bonus, raise or something. Hopefully he is just working here due to being bored in his retirement years. Keep this guy around as long as you can Macy's Fairfield. read more

My husband and I visited Fairfield's Macy's for the first time after being longtime customers at the Sacramento location. I would like to commend the store for its beautiful displays and exceptional cleanliness. I would also like to highlight the excellent service provided by Halima, an attentive salesperson with an accent. She was very professional and accommodating, addressing my specific and sometimes demanding requests with patience and kindness. She also introduced me to new fragrance brands I had not previously tried. I appreciate her dedication and professionalism throughout our interaction. This, is by far the worst Macys I've ever seen. I keep coming back thinking they'll get it together, but no such luck. Whoever is the manager of the women's department should be fired. The clothes are all over the place, on racks haphazardly. The sales racks had half the clothes, off hangers and on the floor. All the sizes were mixed up, and this was first thing in the morning. It probably hadn't ever been organized. As for service, I can't speak to that because I never saw any workers. They should be ashamed of themselves. My wife and I went to Sear's on Saturday 1/12/2025 and noticed how much nicer it is now, their new Manager Christopher really fixed the place up, bringing it back to it's classiness again, and it was an amazing experience. What happened to the reputation of Macy's through the years? This is one of the most beloved places I loved going to when I was a child in San Francisco with my dad and siblings. The store was always bustling with professional service and you can get merchandise at good prices. Unfortunately now with technology and online purchases being more convenient and affordable with sometimes free shipping for the consumer, I have a feeling this major department store will soon no longer exist; i.e., Montgomery Wards, The Emporium, Mervyns, Sears, JCPenney. The Fairfield Macy's is sad to shop at. There aren't that many customers shopping and sales people to look for. I wanted to purchase a Fitbit watch on sale and no one was at the counter. We waited 15 minutes and no one came or checked to see if we needed assistance. We decided to walk around the floor and finally found someone that can help us. The prices on some of the non-sale clothes are outrageous for something you won't wear often, only to sit in your closet for years. The clearance racks are a mess and are placed in the far corner of each designer's section. It is dusty and smells horrid in that little corner. And then there's the women's restroom on the third floor ... it is so outdated and dirty. No toilet seat covers, filthy, some stalls were out of order. The women's lounge was dirty and the couch ... Keep your distance from it, LOL! Thank goodness, I hardly shop at this Macy's anymore. I miss the Macy's of the 1960s; times have changed. read more

I went to buy shoes. Had picked out a pair online and went to buy. Got utterly awful customer service from the people in the women's shoe department. I picked the shoes I wanted to try and got in line but once the customer in front of me checked out the kid behind the counter turned his back on me and went into the back storage area; I thought he had to take care of something so I waited. When it was obvious he wasn't coming back I went to the other register where a girl was helping get shoes; she said I'd need to ask the guy who had just left the register or the other girl with a line if customers. I went and caught the eye of the guy who left me and asked for my size in the shoes I was interested in; he gave me a huge sigh - deep, the most "I'm so inconvenienced" sigh - and went to get the shoes. Came back with only one style of asked for, the other was some random box of shoes 2 sizes too big. I gave it back and he simply ignored me. I heard him shortly thereafter tell someone he'd clocked out. I have rarely gotten such bad customer service. If he'd simply told me his shift was ending, could I seek out his coworker, that would have been much better. The shoe counter was littered with shoes, although the rest of the sales floor looked fine. Overall a disappointing experience; guess I'll order online. read more

Horrible experience. When I first went in there with my kids, on the first floor even though the workers were grouped up, literally standing around talking amongst each other, they never acknowledged us. Literally just stared at us the whole time, I thought they were going to say something, but no, they just watched us while talking amongst each other, review the cameras, you'll see it. I go up to the next floor, and see an air fryer, it was on sale, but noticed they had no more of that one, just the display. So I go to look for someone on this floor, and couldn't find anyone for 10 mins, when I finally do, I ask the worker, if I can have the display cause that looks to be the only one left, so says, "yes, you certainly can." I ask her for the box it comes in, and she asks me to hold on while she go gets it. I'm waiting for another 15 mins, only for her to say, "I'm sorry, we can't sell you that." It's fine, I see another one that's a really good price so I grab that one instead. We go back to the register, and we're the only one, and she literally goes, " sorry, I'm going on break." It took me another 15 min just to find someone to help ring us up. Literally had go downstairs and upstairs. I asked a man where can I go to purchase this, and he goes, "anywhere you see someone." It wasn't until we run into another group of workers, who like the first group, standing around, talking amongst each other, I ask one of the ladies for help, and she goes, " you couldn't find anyone in that department to ring this up for you?" Obviously not, I wouldn't be here asking you, now would I? We finally complete the purchase, and the security had the audacity to eye us like he wasn't just watching us in the camera, walking back and forth looking for a cashier, like we stole it. You were nowhere to be found when we needed help, and when we actually purchase it, you have the audacity to pop out and eyeball us? Workers like these is why I'm all for making robot workers. Idc what line of work you're in, have some type of professionalism or a little bit of quality customer service, especially if you're working in a retail store. read more

Recently I went to the customer service counter in the store to ask a question. Unfortunately, I had a medical event and fainted while I was standing at the counter. The lady behind the counter actually caught me so I wouldn't hit my head! The customer service staff took great care of me while we waited for the ambulance--placing me in a chair and giving me water and a chocolate bar. I was "out of it" so I didn't catch the employees' names, but they made sure I was okay. They definitely went above and beyond and I am so grateful to them! I like A LOT of things at Macy's. Lately they've been blowing it on women's clothing. It's just gotten so ugly in women's clothing, especially tops and blouses. It's like a sea of variations of the peasant blouse. The peasant blouse has been around for like 20 years. Are there no new ideas? Is it the collective weight of the American people the reason they still exist? I don't get it. I'd like to see things that reflect the quality that Macys once had. The shoes, slacks and most skirts are good. Jewelry is good. I have had a problem at the cosmetics counter. I needed a shade matched and the lady at the counter was so intent on ignoring us that I didn't want her to help me at that point. I have gotten 3 big bottles of perfume that had turned already. Same with one I bought my husband. I am wary of buying perfume there now. It feels like it's been shelved way past its use by date. I've always really loved and depended on Macys, this is just constructive criticism because I want to keep loving it. Please ditch the peasant blouses - pleeeeeaaaase! I'm begging you. read more

Not sure why this place had such a bad rating? I came in here earlier today, I've always liked the seleciton they had to choose from. They had this shirt I wanted, that was made from sand and stone. This store is an embarrassment to retail! Standards and customer service is way below expectation! I would compare them to the old retailer K-mart! Sales associates are untrained, unfriendly while managers and management really don't care what the customers experience is! Had issue with one of the managers chewing out one of her sales associates and tried to ask her nicely not to embarrass her in front of the customers yet alone her peers! I guess I just remember the good old days when Macys was the best of the best. My recent visit was so not that store. The escalator was broken for at least 2 visits I made to the store. I could not find any assistance on the sales floor. It was like a morgue. No one in site. I needed assistance in the women's department. No one. Then I somehow caught the eye of person who I would say was possibly a floor manager. She was helpful but I had the impression that she might have suspected that I was a secret shopper. I used to be one, no longer. Maybe I just still have that look. Well folks I went to pay for my merchandise, and I am not exaggerating NO one is site. I stood there about 5 minutes no one came. I went downstairs merchandise in toll and paid at the jewelry counter. Whereby the way a group meeting was taking place. It makes me so sad to see what actually happens when we do not reward our hard-working employees with respect and high "5" they so deserve. Loving that they are opened and following all COVID-19 guidelines, really appreciative that I saw staff wiping down high traffic areas, the staff wearing masks and gloves, I was able to see the great efforts being made by the staff which made me feel safe and happy. I am very impressed with this particular Macy's branch. This place is run by a superb Manager named Robert, staff call him Bobby. The staff are nice and very good in customer service, from doing a return, trying a perfume, buying a shoes, fitting a dress.. everything is a pleasant experience for me and my friend. I observed that Robert is a hands-on and a people person type of a manager. He goes around check his staff which is very inspiring. His good qualities as a leader radiates to his fellow staff. A staff named "Chanel" in the jewelry section is a very nice sales associate. It's a wonderful shoping experience! I would definitely comeback and recommend this place! read more

I just want to say that my mom and I had an unusual experience. Her package was delivered to the wrong address. My mom contacted the store, and she spoke with a woman first who said that she was a supervisor..This first supervisor was not much help, she told my mom that she would have to wait for another 2 months before getting her package...However this was not a good answer and we did not accept it...After all my mom had already waited 1 month...GOOD NEWS !!We calledback on 9/19/24 and spoke with a very knowledgeable ,kind and intelligent Supervisor by the name of Genia R. who supervises in the Clinique department.This lady went beyond her duty to research and to get us the answers we needed.She calledus back at the time that she said that she would. I came in today and as soon as I walked in, a gentleman helped me out and got a makeup expert to help me pick out the right shade. Scarlett was very friendly and helpful. I was shopping with my daughter, Kris at the Stanford Shopping Center location. I saw this queen-size feather bed on display I always wanted; however, the queen-size feather bed was out of stock. Solution: I asked the sales rep if I could order the feather bed through her today & have the feather bed shipped to my home. Sure; no problem! FYI: I had a $25 off coupon, so the sales rep discounted not only $25 off, but gave me an ADDITIONAL $100.00 OFF the initial $380.00 price tag! Ka-ching! Oh~BTW . . . FREE shipping, too! The WORST store in the Macy's chain. If others are as sad as this one , it won't be long before they shut it down. No salespeople on the floors that I could spot. Clothes on the floor in multiple departments. The shoe department looked like a bargain basement with store and the styles were just awful. Either big clunky platforms or hooker looking spangly high heels. Looks like their catering to the towns hookers. And the CLOTHES.? Cheap ugly fabrics and prints all look like the were from from cheap factory. I can't believe anyone is buying this crap. Well there were very few costumers so I'm guessing nobody is. I love coming here, I usually find everything I'm looking for. The only section in the store that really frustrates me is Finishline. I'm not sure how they make any money. Every time I need tennis shoes this place is my first stop since I'm already shopping at Macy's women's department and they are so unhelpful and NEVER have my size. Placed an order online for pick up in store. I thought I was saving time, but the app said the order wouldn't be ready for 2 hours. We'll two hours came and went still no email. I'm sorry I even ordered for pick up. After all of this time I could have just walked into the store and bought the shoes without the hassle. I went today to exchange 2 pairs of jeans (with receipts and tags) that I purchased before Christmas and was denied because I waited too long. I tried to explain that I had been sick since the beginning of January but no exceptions. I paid 40 and was given a gift card for 32, and on my other pair, I spent over 50 and was offered 32. Why couldn't I just exchange them? Take care of your customers. I have been a long time, very good customer and I never plan on returning. Sad. read more

Stopped by on Friday (Black Friday) to buy a jacket my Mom asked for. It is a "fur" jacket by INC. online the jacket showed it was $94.75 with the Black Friday deal but in store it was ringing up $142. I had to show 2 different associates the jacket on Macys.com to get the price adjustment. After that, I felt very apprehensive to buy anything else because that item alone was ringing up almost $50 over the advertised price! Macy's online is bad. They took my order and placed it, send a confirmation email with a different address. I confirmed, rthen realized the wrong address. I called immediately, they Claim we did not do it within the 30 min, which we did. They said they would fix it, didn't. There was no such house number, on the street address behind us.
