This Macy's is huge! I don't typically shop at Macy's much (or any bigger retail store like this really) but we happen to find parking near this wing of MOA. I could see Macy's being a one stop shop, they sell a bit of everything; furniture, home goods, clothes, toys, snacks, cosmetics, jewelry, etc. They almost always have some sort of sales going on & you can find some good deals here or there. We stopped at the pandora counter (yes, inside of the Macy's). We were able to peacefully look around without anyone greeting us or pushing us to buy. However we then made the mistake of walking through the perfume department. They were a very pushy about selling, EVERY perfume was their last bottle. Macy's is known for being a fragrance HQ. They have many scents you can't find in store anywhere else. So it's nice to be able to go in a smell something before you drop money on it. They also do refills on certain perfumes which is nice to save money & reuse your bottle. I love perfume but I can only take so many different smells before it starts to give me a headache. Every counter wanted use to smell 3-4 different perfumes which was a bit much. Like I said before they offer so much here. Worth a browse AND they have Tii Cup on the 3rd floor of the store!! read more

No customer service at all. I went to buy shoes. Lots of variety but few sizes. Clerk brought some boxes of shoes, put them on the floor, walked away and never came back. There were no other customers. She stood by the cash register watching me, but did nothing to help. Also, the women's bathroom was dirty, beat up walls. One stall had no toilet paper. I walked into this location today with my friend to the fragrance department and the first person that we encountered her name was Linda ( not a very eager to help type of person) . This department needs help with the customer service . Does not matter how well you are dressed if you do not have a broad understanding of how interactions with your guess should look like . However we find a wonderful associate by the name Heather who is the reason why the stars . I will give her a five star because she was eager to help and show us the different choices and treated us like a valued guess . During our visit I've noticed that there was an Asian guy rushing her and this is such a hostile way to treat your employees / co workers . Here's a weird fact. I had never stepped foot in Macy's at Mall of America (MOA) until this visit. I frankly don't remember whether Macy's was always at MOA. When I visited this mall as a resident of Minnesota, my mall habits were interesting at MOA. I rarely set foot in major department stores. I focused on smaller ones. I went through a phase over a decade ago where I shopped at Macy's often. I liked the Style & Co. line of clothing. I still do. I still have pieces that I wear today. They have endured and still look great. I recently dropped by Community Commons at MOA. The closest parking ramp to it is the one by Macy's. So, I parked here and visited Macy's after a long absence. I'm always looking at luggage. Since I've been travelling more often as of late, it has become an interest to check out various luggage lines. There was a sale going on, which was encouraging. Macy's is kind of like a slightly more pricier version of Kohl's. The latter has dominated my shopping life as of late. I love everything about the store. Poor Macy's... haha! Christmas decorations were out in full force. They looked pretty by the escalators. The decorative, colourful, large Christmas ball ornaments caught my attention. They were cheerful and pretty. I'd need a new piece of luggage to bring them back home. The Twin Cities is Peanuts territory. I saw cute Snoopy and Woodstock clothing. Disney clothing was also represented, with classic Mickey and Minnie on sweaters and more. I used to come to Macy's more often because it featured Kipling handbags. The pandemic seemed to have caused this line to disappear from Macy's. Bummer. I always enjoy browsing the clearance section. At Macy's, it's known as Macy's Backstage, which sounds fancy, but it isn't. I saw good deals on toys, shoes, clothes, and more. I was happy to see women's size 11 shoes at reduced prices. There wasn't a pair that screamed out my name, but it was nice to see that I had options. Macy's takes up three floors of MOA. I still find it humourous that I can't recall whether Macy's has always been at this mall. It's huge, spacious, and enjoyable to browse around. I had a nice experience. This location is a go and pickup location. Staff are obsolete. Chaotic and busy. You'll find what you need, they are overflowing with product. Things are thrown and not well kept. The most staff you find in one spot is cosmetics. You might have to travel across the store to check out. I come here to grab what I need and get out as quick as possible. read more

This location is in the Mall of America, which is an enormous mall, so inevitably it's an enormous Macy's - and actually very well kept because this Mall I guess is such a big tourist destination. So I'm a fan and you probably should be too. I don't like Macy's in general and I think JCPenney is usually a better department store, but this particular Macy's is one of the better ones I've been to. Still really expensive - so much. Come when there are sales, it's better. Barbie says: Macy's is an American institution. Shopping here is a must, at least once. They have tons of clothes for women and men and children. Wanted to come here to go find a sweater. It's fall season which means I have to prep myself for sweater weather. It's definitely a large Macy's, it's really gorgeous too in this vast three floor environment. We found a great sweater at what we thought was a good deal because alot of the advertisements were saying that items were at a discounted price but none of which mentioned we had to be Macy's members with exclusive cards to get the discount. Overall, that saddened me. The store itself is very clean, very well stocked. While the rest of the mall closes, this store stays open for a bit. Tons of inventory that'll keep you here for hours checking stuff out. read more

Im only giving it two stars because I DID find some cute clothes... after digging in piles on the floor. I understand being busy, but this is NEXT LEVEL disorganized. I even found a kid's dirty shoe in the middle of the floor at one point. We also had to be rung up three different times, were rudely questioned on the phone because we were out of state credit card users (even though we've been to this exact Macy's MANY times) and didn't end up being able to use it because we failed the "quiz" of cars we've owned and divorced family members birthdays, and honestly the only reason we didn't just leave everything there was because we liked the clothes too much and traveled five hours to shop here. I've been to this Macy's over the last decade but didn't buy anything until today. No one was helping or assisting me but I think COVID is still a concern. There still is social distancing at this store and those people wearing masks have worried looks on their faces. The men's section is messy and unorganized, clothes and items strewn apart. There was no major sale going on here just minor 'buy one, get 50% off' on Calvin Klein undergarments. The store seems short staffed and employees do not look happy today, especially behind the register. I will admit this store does hire diverse employees compared to other Macy's in other major cities. It's good to be inside an air-conditioned store than at the park. read more

I came here with my husband and an out of town friend a few weeks ago. The friend was traveling from Denmark and he was starting a new job at my husbands company the next morning. None of us live in Minnesota. Being unaware that the mall closed early on Sundays it was shocking to see doors closing as we arrived. For some reason Macy's stays open another hour. We ran to the men's department. Ugas and Hussein were at the counter in Men's Furnishings and Suits and Ties. They were wonderful help. Our friend needed suits, underwear, everything. That can take some time. Also, he's foreign. He wanted to look great for the new job and he needed clothes for several days. We were in there beyond store closing. Ugas told us it was not a problem. He told us to take our time. These two men were so gracious and helpful. Thank you Ugas and Hussein. read more

It's aggravating that the women's plus sizes are split up from regular size clothes. A friend and I both needed a formal dress, but unfortunately I'm a size 18 and my friend is a size 8, so to save time we had to split up and send each other pictures. All they would have to do is switch the shoes with plus size to allow women of all sizes to shop together. read more

It had been awhile since I had made an in-store visit to Macy's. However, I needed to exchange a couple of gifts I received over the holidays. Wow! Talk about great customer service. One gift had a receipt and the other. Both were a breeze to exchange with the sales associate offering several options in terms of store credit, return to the purchasing card, and a gift card. No hassle at all. As I browsed the store for options for the exchange different associates offered help or politely greeted me. Although I'm not a big brick and mortar guy I terms or shopping, this was a really pleasant experience. read more

Since I've been to other Macy's in this area I would have to rate this location high. This is probably the busiest most visible Macy's they have to be tops. A store with a huge men's selection where other stores have been decreasing choices is highly appreciated. Employees that ask to help right away and then leave us alone if we don't need help. Some other Macy's are starting look like a discount store with items thrown on tables for mark down and cluttered aisles. This store is still roomy and neat and the styles are more urban with a little more suave than the suburban counterparts. read more

Like all their cookie-cutter stores only a bit bigger than some of the others in the area. Despite the size, it seems a challenge to find what you are looking for at times. Most days they are running some sort of made up sale with 2/3 of the store on clearance. If you live somewhere without department stores, you will find Macy's the epitome of the classic store. read more

WOW‼ I walked in today on my way to my Microsoft educational session and IMMEDIATELY felt a MASSIVE store wide change!! First, right out of college I became an apprentice to the Personal Shopper at NYC Bloomingdales under pre-eminent Retail giant Marvin Traub when retail was magnificent exciting and truly beautiful thanks to our talented buyers ( destroyed by AIDS in the 80's). So floor design placement mannequin appearance colors by walkways etc etc were painstakingly created changed enhanced daily. And someone has done this almost overnight throughout the ENTIRE store which looks beautiful 1000% less overwhelmingly "stuffed", and the products are neatly displace with much more space making it 100 % easier to find things at different levels of view. They have invested in tall quality narrow elegant hanging units in INTERESTING layouts through the entire store. Huge massive amount of work making the atmosphere more relaxing to shop, Less overwhelming. I was getting very depressed with the " former Macy's" my very first job at age 16 was at Macy's in old White Plains on Mammaroneck Ave. Selling women's hats and getting 10 cent tips from delighted old ladies.... I LOVED working there!! The walk ways are MUCH more open the Jewelry area is gorgeous now elegant EASY to see shop. Everything is no longer at one " over stuffed feeling" level SUPER packed! That is Now gone gone gone. There is still plenty of stock, but YOU NO LONGER FEEL LIKE YOU ARE DROWNING in it. Most of all the products feel more carefully selected-- better textiles I could feel immediately and more attractive. They have carefully updated upgraded ENHANCED THEIR PHYSICAL " LOOK" their QUALITY APPEARANCE as they ferociously compete against online retailers. Macy's is very smart for Nordstroms has upgraded SO fast to the elite level selection and price point of our highest income bracket consumer -- Saks Fifth Ave/ Neiman Marcus. Bloomingdales too has become the hip edgy VERY high end resource for our economic elite as well. JC Penny has always had very top people in strategic planning and I know and hope they are back to the drawing board.... Sears sadly has been too comfortable too long and sadly too asleep and too administratively giant conservative to respond to our rapidly changing worried cautious consumer. They may have missed the boat which Marshalls has SPED up and conquered. ( Marshall's textile quality is very poor-- clothing does not hold up its appearance over time.) I shall always love a store -- " the roar of the crowd... the smell of the greasepaint " the contagious emotion of others around you The physical excitement of the entire room experience The WONDERFUL PEOPLE WATCHING! sharing it laughing with friends, your daughter-- lunch, great exercise, bonding. When I buy things from fine jewelry the experience usually goes well. I had a very expensive sale pending and was never called back about it although my number was given to the manager. Someone told m that this Macy's is Macy's Midwest or something, and the other Macy's in MN (the ones that used to be Dayton's) are Macy's West, which explains some of the difference in supply and brands. I stopped by here yesterday to pick up a item for my girlfriends birthday. Despite having a rough idea of what I was after, I took quite a while to narrow down my selection and make my purchase (I was buying a watch). I was able to spend a good 5-10 minutes just browsing before I asked a member of staff for help. When I did she was very personable and gave me advice about some items I had mentioned. She even suggested looking at some other items which were similar to my tastes. Not too pushy but just right. When I eventually found the one I was after she processed my sale fast and efficiently. It was great customer service. This store isn't just about great customer service, it also has a good layout and product selection. Tried to get a size of shoes to try on. The girl working didn't acknowledge us, and then her and her friend were talking about how they were off now and to close the register but did not have anything to say about someone else helping us since they were done, etc as a common courtesy being an employee. Asked another worker to find a size in that shoe and she said well you better sit down it will take awhile. She came out the other side and helped other people behind us getting their boots RIGHT away. Another woman asked for a shoe size as well and we both never got it. Brought my shoe to ANOTHER worker who I thought was just someone shopping since he was on his phone. When I asked him for a size he goes ugh and i could hear him yell ai ai ai in the closet. Didn't come out for at least 10 minutes and then said they don't have it. waited at least 30-45 minutes to be helped total and no one could find or help me get a shoe size. I had a really good experience at this Macy, largely due to customer service. The makeup lady, Kaylie??, noticed I needed something and helped me out and was grace under pressure even when the technology checking out failed her not once but twice. She took the time to answer my questions and give me free samples so I can evaluate products at home---never pushy although I did buy something. When the only thing left to differentiate brick and mortar from online is customer service, personal touch, good ambience and shopping as an experience/an outing, it was nice to see good customer service. Sadly it's rare these days. I don't expect it all at big department stores anymore and actually just came in to use the restroom and leave. But the store itself was merchandised very old school 90s retail and could really use a refresh. The'res no difference between what they're selling and the boutique stores outside but Macy's is not presenting it well at all. Need new merchandising gameplan. My daughter and I were shopping at our local Macy's in Schaumburg Illinois for a bridesmaid dress for my son's upcoming wedding we found a dress that was perfect (color, fit, price...) so we purchased and had it shipped. When we received it a few days later it was the wrong size so I called the store and they did not have anymore in that size left . Verleana, the sales associate went above and beyond to help rectify the problem and finally found that there were a few at the Mall of America Macy's. Due the late hour at which this all happened she was not able to call that store so she gave me their phone number. The next morning I called and Brian, the regional manager, answered he stated that due to an overnight blizzard many of his employees were unable to make it to work but he would help me. Brian was able to find the dress but noticed some the detailed beading was missing and rather the end things there he took my phone number and said he would take the dress to the stores long time seamstress to see if it was repairable and would call me back. Not more than a half hour later he called me with good news that the dress was repairable and would ship it once completed. We received the dress within a few days and it was perfect. Brian was awesome and even though he probably does not spend his normal work day on the sales floor working with everyday customers he went above and beyond and I am extremely thankful. I received a citizen watch for Christmas. Tried to come in the store and they will not touch the watch without proof of purchase from Macy's. It was a gift, so I don't have a receipt. I'm just looking to size the watch, take out a couple links. Nope, apparently it is a liability that Macy's will not take. They fear they can ruin the watch by taking out some links. I can't believe that I went to the Mall of America and went into a Macy's. In my defense, we waited until the last option and then went in just because I had coupons for Macy's. Somehow, I found a dress that had been narrowly evading me for the whole weekend. In fact, I found three dresses that fit my purpose that I couldn't decide on so I bought all three of them. In general, Macy's is a 3.5 star review--one can get nice/decent stuff, often for cheap. This one at MOA is pretty bad. The men's area always looks like a tornado went through it. For real, I'd put it on-par with Burlington. I've also had an in-store pickup cancelled on me a few times. In these cases, the other local stores didn't have my color/size and item wasn't available for shipping so I chose to do in-store pickup only to have the order cancelled. I'll ass-ume this is bc the store is in disarray and they can not locate the item. Lastly, I find the apparel mostly off here. One would assume they'd have more adult and on-trend clothing due to the tourist factor but it's mostly very young/urban. read more

As a frequent shopper of Macys all over the country, this size and selection of this Macy's was pretty good. The Petites section was on the smaller size but the handbags section downstairs was larger than most. The men's section was also larger than most. The signage in the store could be a little more clear. I did have a few asks and service was helpful and friendly. read more

I just bought a suit at this Macy's and it was awesome. I've been to other Macy's and had some horror stories trying to buy suits at their other locations, so I'm glad to have finally found a suit store that I can count on for great service. I have a weird body shape (a somewhat large upper body) so suits don't normally fit all that well and tailoring is tough. During an extremely busy Saturday (during one of their suit sales), an employee spent a lot of time teaching me a ton about how suits should fit. I tried on a bunch of suits and found one that was perfect. The best part was that the salesperson was extremely honest. I tried on a suit that I thought fit okay and that I was willing to buy, but the employee told me that I should hold off until something better-fitting is in stock. The fact the employee passed up a sale and was able to spend time showing how suits should fit was awesome. I'm definitely going back -- read more
