Barbie wore a very revealing halter top to this store, maybe she wanted to show off her Nordstrom Rack? This is one of the most largestest and well stockedest Nordstrom Rack stores that I've ever seen. However it also doesn't seem to have as many special cheap deals as some of the other little stores do. It's in the same Mall as one of the biggest Nordstrom's on the planet so it probably gets a lot of spillover from there. They should work on slashing the prices a little bit more then they could have an even higher rating from me. But it is a good location and Barbie absolutely loved it in here. She said - The Rack is great. They have lots of brand name clothes and shoes for less than retail prices, like Ugg boots and Nike clothing. They also have high end makeup. I have to be in the mood for this store but when I am, it's a great place to find unique buys. I was there after Christmas and found this amazing rain coat for about $15. It typically requires patience as you look through many racks. I usually am more efficient when I know I need shoes or a sweater or a coat and can concentrate on just a few racks. Their women's section in shoes and clothes are plentiful Men's is about half that size. Jewelry and home goods are much less. Kids is a small area. I like that they now have both shoes on the rack and you don't have to stand in line to get the match. The Rack is a usual stop when I go to the mall. It's worth a stop when you are there. read more

Usually when I see the lines to check out wrapped way around the store, I take one look and leave. However, the last time we were there, the lines moved pretty fast. The shoe area always looks like it has been ravished by a bunch of jackals. Maybe it's more the women's area. The men's area seems a little more controlled and neat. I don't know how they shoe mate window people keep their composure. But Kudos to them for dealing with all the shoe crazed people. A lot of of the racks are chaotic and hard to browse through, but once in awhile there have been a few good deals that I have managed to find. -Sunglasses, costume jewelry - Shoes - Hair brushes. They used to have a decent selection of purses, but I don't seem to find that the case anymore. This is a fun store to browse through. Even more so when the masses are not around. This store is VERY NICE and gets a 4.5 stars out of 5 from me. I happened into this store while on vacation with my daughter and had no plans to buy anything. Often these chain type stores cater to the 20 something body (size 0, 3 or maybe 5) but not so with this store. First of all the selection of clothes was huge. They had work clothes, casual clothes, fitness outfits and then much more. Second they had larger sizes and more than one of each so if something was wrong with one, you could easily pick up another without worry. We found clothes, sandals, winter boots, pajamas, raincoats and dresses. L-O-T-S to choose from. We had to remind ourselves that there was only so much room in our carry-on luggage and vowed to visit the nearest Nordstrom Rack in our home city. I was very pleased with my purchase and check-out was a breeze with Jose. He was so nice, very efficient and chatted a bit with us which we really liked. That was money well spent! read more

It's a Nordstrom rack at Americas biggest mall-- so it's total chaos. I wear size 12 shoes which they had a big section of. It was as if a tornado overturned every shoe in that store. I enjoy the rack and say this one is just as good as the others but full of tourists and messy. read more

Wow do they have shoes! I wear a 7 so this size is usually picked over. The selection includes Keens, UGGS, and Coach shoes. Some even on clearance. They put one shoe out and there is a counter to get its mate. Smart way to prevent shoplifting. They also had designer handbags, towels, cosmetics, Mens, Women's, and Kid's clothes. I found a pair of Miss Me jeans for $49.97! Normally $100. They are a little big but I can use a belt. I can also roll them up and wear as Capris. Sales people were helpful. I stopped in while at the Mall of America, hoping to find good deals. As I started going further into the store, I noticed musty smells and disorganization. Disorder to an extent can be expected in a discount store but... The most horrifying thing was soon discovered. Out of the corner of my eye I caught fast movement. There was a RAT! It was darting fast in the children's section. I was shocked! I immediately brought it to a Manager's attention and she basically blew it off, boredly stating that they have a service... The mall sometimes gets rodents... Blah blah blah. Well I have never seen any anywhere else! This store definitely has plenty of hiding spots and by her nonchalant reaction it is a common occurrence in that store. Um... No thanks!! read more

I was so appreciative of the Nordstrom Rack's adherence to CDC social distancing and health guidelines by limiting customers, providing face masks, and directional arrows on the floor. I waited in the very long line outside the store patiently waiting to enter the store. Then, I patiently waited in another very long line at the cashier desk to return a disappointing online purchase. I understand retail business very well having spent the majority of my life in retail and I previously worked many years for one of Nordstrom's competitors. These are difficult times with extenuating circumstances. My heart breaks that Nordstrom is closing 16 stores and is on the verge of bankruptcy. While standing in line, I notice the "40% off Everything" sale and "All Sales Final" signs. I get it...I understand why... and empathize. I grabbed a sanitized shopping cart and start filling my shopping cart like every other person in the store...jeans, workout attire, dresses...great stuff at terrific prices. Then, we find out the fitting rooms are closed. One associate recommends trying the clothes on the floor like other customers, one associate informs me that the Nordstrom store ("at the end of the mall") is open along with their fitting rooms...he suggested make a purchase, go try the goods on at Nordstrom, and if they don't fit bring them back...but there might be a problem with the "All Sales Final" policy. Another associate states that Nordstrom allows the use of fitting rooms but not the District Manager of this store for at least another three weeks. I tried clothes on over my clothes on the sales floor like everyone else as if I am in a third-world country outdoor market. I decided to take a gamble on a dress in hopes it will fit when I get home. I pray the purchase will fit because I don't even live in Minneapolis on top of all the other issues. Finally, the cashier did not remove the Sensormatic tag from the dress when I made the purchase. I set off the alarm exiting the store in front of the big line of people standing to enter the store. Humiliating!! The sign posted in the mall window states, "Holding tried-on or returned merchandise for a period of time before putting it back in the sales floor" is one of the initiatives to keep customers safe. News flash...since the fitting rooms are closed, tried-on clothes are heaped all over fixtures and left in carts on the sales floor. (So much for safety!!!) I recommend to the female manager/greeter the store needs a huge sign at the entrance and on the windows stating, "The Fitting Rooms are closed AND all sales are final" and/or the associate monitoring the line should share this information with the customers standing in line before they waste their time once they get in the store. The store is a huge mess (it looks like a TJ Max) and the female manager, who was standing outside the entrance, primary concern was who told me it was the DM's decision to close the fitting rooms. In a snarky tone upon exiting after the Sensormatic tag was removed from my dress, "We will do better." Wow...times have changed...customer service, retail standards, and common sense is even out the door for a company like Nordstrom. Probably the best selection I have seen at a Nordstrom Rack. Got a pair of polarized ray bans that I've been looking at forever for $79 instead of $205 which is the price I saw at other stores in the mall. That alone made it a great trip. Beyond that, they had several good brands. Plenty of ray ban, Tommy Bahamas, Calvin Klein, Adidas and north face. Store was super clean and organized. Men's shoe selection was great, had a pair of converse I have had me eyes on for 50% off of retail price. Took off one star because of the women's shoe section. Not sure if that's how it always is at a Nordstrom rack but it was a nightmare. Shoes thrown on top of each other without boxes. The men's on the other hand was not like that at all. Even had to do a return and staff made it super easy because one of the phone cases was mismarked. They apologized and put the money right back on my card no questions asked. read more

Nordstrom Rack usually sells very similar items you would find in name brand stores for anywhere between 25-50% off! I'm assuming a lot of their items come from stores that no longer had space for them or are slightly out of season. **This review is solely based on the bra department. I walked in Nordstrom because they were having a sale and I'd never really taken a good look around before. I wandered over to bras because I saw they had some on sale (even though I didn't particularly need any). I picked out a few to try on and thought hmmm maybe I should ask to get sized because it's been a while. Then I decided against it because I didn't want to be annoying. So I walk in the fitting room and they offer to fit me. Well, ok then, how about that? I had no idea I was about to have my very own bra-intervention! I've never been fitted so expertly before, even at other department stores! Victoria's Secret does not know jack people! Caitlin was a life changer. In about a 2 second glance she could tell I needed a different size then she preceded to help me in and out of a few different bras and how to properly put your ladies in (why didn't anyone tell me that before!?). Once my proper size was found she went and pulled a bunch of different styles for me to try. And here's what I loved: she saw that I came in originally with sale bras so she brought back more sale bras without even asking or making me feel uncomfortable about not wanted to spend $50 on a bra. I walked away with 3 bras and another 2 on order from another store. They'll ship it to your house for free if they don't have your size, even on sale items. Caitlin managed to turn a browser into a big buyer and possibly a customer for life! Plus she gave me a heaping dose of self confidence with my real bra size and now extra gorgeous ladies! read more

First off, whomever is in management has really stepped up and the store is looking great! The employees are really nice, especially Annette at the front; super nice and kind. Only downside is that they've really shrunk the women's shoe section, in particular the 10.5 and up section. I wear a size 11.5 to a 12, and sometimes a W depending on the toe box and instep. It's so hard to find shoes, and to see this shrunk is so disheartening to say the least. Please expand and carry more in store! I was able to find some men's shoes that worked out, but a girl needs flats/slippers/heels not just converse, and combat boots. read more

I was on a hunt. Needed a truly baller navy blue slim lapeled suit. I called up Nordstrom's and got me a personal stylist. No joke. Meet Robert. Robert hooked me up. Spent 2 hours with me, getting me various suits to try on, then bringing out shirts, ties, etc. to match them. Recognize that these guys don't work on commission. Tip: Never go here when it's peak shopping time. I like to visit Nordstrom Rack about an hour before mall closing time. The crowds are gone and the staff has almost put the the store back to orderly state so you can shop in peace. Nordstrom Rack carries all the awesome name brands in fashion just like Nordstrom does - but at a fraction of the cost. What few times I've shopped at Nordstrom Rack, I have to say I'm hooked. It's almost identical to Marshall's or TJ Maxx, only it's more upscale because they carry a wide selection of designer options. I don't like to spend a ton on clothes, but I don't like cheap items that look and feel cheap, so NR is a great place for me to find some good deals. I especially like their selection of coats/outerwear. I haven't experienced some of the issues others have mentioned (i.e. long lines and disorganized racks), so perhaps I've been lucky to shop at the right times. Nordstrom Rack gets 5 Stars for their selection of shoes for women with large feet. Few things thrill me more than finding a size 10.5 or 11 shoe at a great price. I scored two amazing pairs of sandals last week for under $50, the original retail was well over $250 for the two. The downside? The place is a mess. It's infrequent that I buy anything but footwear here because I lack the patience to sort through the overstuffed racks. And in the interest of full disclosure, the shoe shelves are utter chaos. Prepare for a long wait in the dressing rooms on weekends at the MOA location. Maple Grove is cleaner, more TJ Maxx-y, but lacks the shoe selection of the Uber Mall. If you like people watching, note the tormented faces of husbands/boyfriends dragged into this store against their will. Their suffering is blatant. It's hilarious to see their oblivious partners sifting through the racks while the men look around in dismay. read more

I am a little more than bummed out that the closest Cafe is now a light rail ride (and walk through an amusement park!) away. I come to Nordstrom's for two reasons - cosmetics and Marc Jacobs. Cosmetics- It seems like Nordstrom's staffs more salesgirls at the cosmetic counters than other department stores. Specifically, I've never had to wait at Estee Lauder. And the MAC counter is *much* less crowded than the MAC store in the mall. Marc Jacobs - Seriously, one of the things I was most concerned about when moving from San Francisco to Minnesota was where I would find Marc Jacobs bags. Luckily for me, they are at Nordstrom's! Selection is okay - this season they have 5-10 styles in about 5 colors plus a pretty good selection of wallets. The salesgirl has told me they can special order items for you (if you want a color they don't have in stock). They have the upscale Marc Jacobs as well as the lower end Marc by Marc Jacobs. As for the rest of the store, I'm not that into it. I know the shoe department is fabled, but I hardly ever purchase shoes here. When I browse the clothes departments, I just don't find anything worth trying on. Personal story! I'm pretty sure the coffee shop at the first floor entrance to the mall is where I first experienced cofee. When my mom would take us clothes shopping when I was younger, she'd let my brother and me share a raspberry mocha when we were done. So good. read more

Nordstrom Rack is the budget store where Nordstrom sends some of its leftovers. They also sell lower end clothing, too (think Ross). VERY hit or miss, but I've found some really great stuff here on sale. There's always a ton of designer jeans at more decent prices, and I've found two fantastic sweaters on sale as well. My fave find has to be my most recent sweater...half yak hair, half wool! Exotic! Oh! And my shiny gold slippers! ($99, down from $450...yes, they're super cute; I used them as my wedding slippers) Really though, you have to pick through things here to find the good stuff. Plan to spend a few hours if you want a real nice wardrobe. There isn't always good stuff everytime I come. Smaller sizes seem to get picked over much faster than larger sizes. Plan to spend some time. There's only one place to try on ladies' clothes and it's often packed. You might have to wait a bit. read more

I am annoyed beyond belief that the *only* Nordstrom Rack in the en-t i r e state of Minnesota...is located at the MOA. I mean, I just moved here but even I have the sense to try to avoid this monstrosity of consumerism and tourism and high school field trip-ism with the same sense of disdain as long-time locals. Alas, I also know that the Rack is *the* place to go to find some threads or home goods for which you can't/won't rationalize spending full price at the Nordstrom around the corner. Hubby was asked to be an usher at a beach wedding. When then asked if he had a "light-colored tan suit" I suppressed the wave of nausea that image aroused and took him straight to the store, where indeed, we found a decent suit in a darker shade of tan, conveniently marked down to a palatable price. Throw in a tie with a hot pink lattice pattern (in order to further complement bridezilla's wishes), and a pair of slip-on leather mocs made in Italy for a really decent price...et voila, ensemble complete in half an hour flat. Nordstroms Rack is the place that Nordstroms castoffs are sent to. It's the island of misfit Nordstroms retail that didn't sell. That being said, I really love it. It kind of reminds me of TJ Maxx or Marshalls 'cause you can get good quality Nordstroms stuff on the cheap. I head to the activewear section and start sorting through all the Hardtail, ALO, and Zella that didn't sell. Once, I walked out of there with: 1) Nice Zella pullover for $11.99 (retailed for $60) 2) Yogi brand shorts for $16.99 (retails for $40) 3) Marika shorts for $8.99 (retails for $28) So, I was a happy camper. However, there are some downsides to this shopping paradise. First, it can get crowded as a Black Friday sale on the weekends and sometimes you have to wait a while to check out. Sometimes, the clothing gets thrown around and misplaced from so many people going through the racks. But, if you have the patience, I highly recommend this store. I went to Nordstrom's last night and am so thankful for the personal stylist I found, Rachel. She's amazing! She asked a ton of question via email days before I got there. The first round she didn't hit the mark with the gowns she brought out but as soon as she saw me and what I was wearing....boom! She nailed it. I am so excited about what I bought. Meh, this NR is seriously more picked over and less organized than any one I've been to in the Chicago area.... I literally found a cute pair of leather boots for $99 by accident as I was stumbling over the shoes all over the floor trying to get out. What?! Leave the shoe section!? Yep, it was so messy and horrible I had to get out... That's a first for me! Like other reviewers have said, the register lines are wayyy too long, and I can't understand how this is the only Rack location in the whole damn state!! On the up side, I found a lovely LBD (little black dress) to go with my leather boots, and including the recent NR Groupon I escaped with a total cost under $100. I got three bras avg price 15.00 a piece and they are all over 35.00 originally. Paid a visit to the MOA again over the weekend with my sister. I can't get enough of that mall, I swear! The Nordstrom Rack was nice, I wish it would have been a little closer to the actual Nordstrom full-line store however. The service was fine, most people seemed fairly helpful. It's about all you can expect since I heard rumor that most the staff are those who would be working in the full-line store, but just aren't "strong enough" sellers. *This review is specific to the Chanel boutique.* I took some earrings in (originally purchased from an out-of-state Neiman Marcus Chanel boutique) because I wanted to replace a crystal that had fallen off of the front. I was told that I had to have proof of purchase from Nordstrom in order to have anything sent to Chanel for repair from this particular location. (Note: This is the only Chanel boutique in the state of Minnesota.) Not sure of the partnership agreement between Nordstrom and Chanel, so it's entirely possible that Nordstrom employees run the Chanel shop and Nordstrom dictates its Chanel boutique repair policies. If that's the case, I understand their unwillingness to assist me. If Chanel operates the shop, then the lack of service I received is appalling and not what I expect from an international luxury brand. I took the earrings to the Neiman Marcus on Nicollet Mall instead. Their jewelry department was more than happy to help me, even though they don't have a Chanel boutique in their store. read more
