Came to Nordstroms to find a dress for my son's wedding. They had many dresses in my price range, many styles, and lengths. They had sufficient staff to be able help me find the perfect dress, she was able to pull dresses that were not out on the floor for me to try, checked on me frequently, took away the "no's" and brought in other dresses while we were in dressing room. They were able to order me the same dress in a size up to be delivered to my home, to be sure I have the one that fit's perfectly. With the assurance that I cn return the one that does not fit on his wedding day as ling as the tags are still on them. read more

Going in there the environment is very cold and unpleasant to be in. With it being winter it should be warmer in the store and comfortable. I went to Nordstrom to purchase refills on two products. When I went originally to get them, the sales associate was so helpful and was eager to find just the right products for me. Much to my disappointment, on January 20, 2024, a little before 1 p.m., I went to the Chanel beauty area. The sales associate completely ignored me and chose to focus her attention on two teenagers who were looking at the make-up, asking if she could help them. They clearly were not interested in purchasing any make-up. They ended up leaving and the sales associate just walked around continuing to ignore me. I finally had to tell her I was interested in purchasing products. It was almost with a reluctance that she asked what I was interested in. If I didn't like these products, I would have turned around and left after receiving such pathetic sales assistance. She rang up my order at 1:06 p.m. and seemed relieved that she was done with me. They have lots of luxury brand items. They also have more affordable brands. They have tons of shoes and clothes and home decor. They have lots of bling jewelry too. Their employees were especially nice here despite it being such a huge store and somewhat busy. Fox: This is a massive Mall of America location of Nordstrom which is one of the biggest I've ever seen. Looks huge from the outside, it looks huge from the inside of the mall and then once you get inside it's hard to find your way around because it has massive floors on all of the different Mall of America levels. Which is like three or four or five or 77 or something. If you want to get lost in Nordstrom for 3 hours then here is the one. And unlike some Nordstrom locations there is a million ways to get out because there's a huge gaping entrance on every single level so good for them. This Nordstrom location is solid! I often wonder if Nordstrom intentionally gives their stores its own style and feel. This location is different than the newer one across town. Although I prefer the newer one, I think this one is great. You can find what you need, they're always full with product and if they don't have what you need, they can get it to you because their online stock is thorough. Couple cafe's and wide selection no matter who you shop for, is available to you on a daily basis. I believe this location deals with a bit of theft, so my experience with staff were pleasant but you could tell they were focused on other things. It was obvious a group of ppl were trying to lift, I hope no one (staff) was hurt in the process.All in all, a fantastic stop for designer shopping. What is going on in Minnesota?! The customer service I've been experiencing has been HORRENDOUS. I have never written so many 1 star reviews, which, I wish were ZERO, in just one TRIP! They only had TWO people working the shoe floor so it took forever to get help! Joseph C. was helping me on Friday (Oct. 1st) and spewing out false info about Doc Martens, I got sleezy car salesman vibes from him. I've never been talked to like that at any Nordstrom, kind of condescending...it was actually a turn off. Also, in the fragrance department, I've never seen the employees continuously putting make up on themselves or on each other, rather than helping customers! Smh Mikala F. helped me, she was nice at first then started having a smart mouth once I wanted to make another transaction! Beautiful store!!! Lots of major European luxury lines and I love the designer boutiques. It has a feel of an European department store. Service and merchandise standards meet a long-time Level-4 Nordstrom customer's expectations. The items that I wanted to purchase where sold-out both online and in this store. Honestly, I also lost my mojo to shop at Nordstrom after my recent experience at the Mall of America Nordstrom Rack located on the third floor. I used to shop at Nordstrom often, but that's declined over the last few years because I don't like the piss poor customer service in the beauty and fragrance departments. On occasion, I'll still shop the shoe and intimates departments, but the appalling behavior by the snooty girls in the above mentioned depts make me avoid the store in general. I previously filed a report to the GM, but this time I'll be going to HQ because it's unacceptable. For some reason, these girls (some nearing retirement age, but still behaving immaturely), are very selective in who they help. When in beauty and fragrance I'll see associates huddled together chatting, standing around, and staring into space. While they'll see me looking around, looking confused), holding product (seeking somewhere to cash out)... they show zero interest in assisting 9 out of 10 times. I've approached people seeking help and the reception I get is as if I'm bothering them, they help begrudgingly, they stare awkwardly, they'll look me up and down.... it's usually judgement. I once had a lady brush me off so she can go help an older white man (dressed just as casually as myself). However, when she saw how much I was buying her interest suddenly peaked. I don't like this type of behavior, one where associates are biased towards some clientele. I should have to dress up in designer labels, flashing fancy jewelry just to be acknowledged and helped. At this point I almost want to return today's purchase and go buy it elsewhere. The girl who stared me up and down when one of the vendors asked her to ring me out, just put my fragile item in a bag... I had to request it be wrapped up to which she took a deep breath (as if annoyed). They need to do better!!!! Nordstrom at MOA is an anchor store on the first two floors of the complex. The pros: huge. This store is close to the size of the flagship in Seattle and carries a ton of product. High end stores are within the store surrounding the handbag area. Great garage parking in outside of the store which is ideal for winter weather. The cons: below standard for Nordstrom. The brand carries a level of quality that is just not found here. Due to the heavy foot traffic of being at a tourist location, the store is constantly overcrowded with people who are passing through and not actually shopping. The bathrooms and changing areas are almost always dirty and disorganized because of this as well. read more

I was able to find what I needed after getting rid of the pushy saleswoman in the men's department, leaving and coming back. This was a sub-optimal shopping experience and I wouldn't go back to this particular store, unless I was stuck in a winter storm. (Very possible). I worked as a personal shopper Bloomingdale's NYC in the Golden era of retail under Diane Lovebart, 1970's and later in domestic/ Intl consumer and industrial products Mktg. Amazon is our new" AT&T", Like food trucks are to IHOP. So my two cent observation is traditional stores are madly analyzing who they WERE, what is the market today what will it look like tomorrow, and HOW... do they stay alive in this Super charged RAPID era of transition. Nordstroms is the new strong combo of Bloomingdales/ old Macy's and Bergdorf Goodmans all combined... Midwest versus Coastal urban. Whew!! A hurdle has been created from their RAPID rise in transforming into a more elite store. They are not focusing upon the " rock of Gibraltar " importance of the on-the- floor sales associate. You must emotionally connect with your customer in a warm genuine natural way. It is vitally important to hire staff who are " happy in their own skin" and sincerely enjoy working with ALL kinds of people. To come " out" and go shopping must be more of a felt happy positive uplifting SOCIAL experience... vs staying home and rapid fire screen to screen bargain shopping alone hunched.., emotionless and solo. One of my happiest memories in retail: age 16, Macys White Plains, NY selling women's hats. Lovely old lady with iridescent white beautiful hair and little joyous blue eyes, told me this was her first day out having been sick, and she wanted to buy a special hat to celebrate her good health. We had lots of fun and she finally chose one. At the end she gave me a 10 cents tip for making her so happy..... her joy, made me feel like a million dollars. I miss the truly lovely older community of "characters" in NYC-- the lively very ethnic Italian Jewish Irish Polish etc etc seniors with their extreme graciousness, merry laughter, SUPER attentiveness to detail and deep deep love of their jobs. NYC feels so strange now with many of them gone ..... Nordstroms is missing this. Yes, it is rare you find someone with genuine heart and natural engaging ease. They are I think too worried about making their targets and quotas... and we as customers feel their carefully controlled anxiety. People are more warm when they are relaxed, happy, appreciated, validated, and if they also genuinely LIKE people. read more

I love Nordstrom because they've got great, high quality product and service to match. This location is no exception (which you'd expect because Nordstrom is HQ'd here). The store is good sized and well organized, especially the shoe department. The cosmetics & beauty area feels a little cramped and cluttered though. The men's department appeared to be smaller than what I've seen elsewhere (about 1/2 of the first floor) but that's fine by me because that means the ladies get pretty much everything else. Like all Nordstroms, the sales associates are super helpful and manage to walk the fine line between helping you out and being pushy. Also, I was not aware that MN does not charge sales tax on apparel or shoes. Super score! read more

Nordstrom's customer service is appalling. I purchased a designer jacket last Nov. and the letters are falling off - so disappointing. I was promised by their management that they would find another one or could try to fix it. Three months later still have not heard from them. Finally I had enough and tried to take it back...I learned they don't return designer clothes that have been worn and are defective. Dealt with a sales person that was helpful only to have the jacket inspected by her nosy coworker. I am certain race played apart in her actions. Beware of purchasing designer goods that are defective as there is no recourse or concern. They just want your money and then treat you like a criminal when you try to get them to make it right. But...downstairs in shoe mecca...service has gone way downhill over the past five years. This saddens me so much. I used to be able to simply describe what I wanted and the salespeople would find it for me! Like magic! *This review covers the ladies high-end shoe department as well as the two Chanel Boutiques* 1. Ladies Shoes: Repugnant, odious, regrettable, and dispiriting are just a few words that come to mind in describing the service we received here. We came in to look for a specific designer shoe for my wife, and the salesman kept bringing out all different designers even after being told we were only interested in the one, and would never answer our questions related to that one brand. He would never smile or make conversation, and actually insulted us the next day we came in (mind you, we were carrying around literally thousands of dollars worth of items from other stores, so he knew we were there to buy, not waste time). When he insulted us, I tried to correct him but instead he chose to argue with me, so I had to ask him to leave us alone and tried to find someone else to assist us. It seemed as though they have some sort of protocol not to assist a customer once they've already been "claimed" by one SA (probably for commission purposes), and it was awful. We went through two more SA's who helped us for a few minutes, then walked off. We actually observed one who essentially dumped a box in front of us walk off and go help some lady who was buying shoes that cost about $300 less than the ones we were purchasing (service should be equal, but certainly not WORSE for more $$$ spent!). Even after explaining the issues with the girl who rang us up, we never received an apology. Can I give this place -5 stars? I will certainly never return to purchase anything here, and I HIGHLY recommend you don't either. 2. Chanel Ready-To-Wear Boutique: The service here, though we didn't buy anything, was polite, helpful, and cordial. The lady answered our questions and chatted away about the history of Chanel as though we were old friends. We went around the store picking things up and trying them on and she didn't bat an eye except to smile and compliment our taste. This is the service you expect when purchasing luxury goods. 5 Stars! 3. Chanel Purse/Accessories Boutique: We ended up buying something from this boutique, but had to come back twice after our first experience with an older lady who was cold and aloof. She looked like she was more of a Chanel customer than an SA and was obviously very knowledgeable and experienced, but her demeanor was a turn off. We inquired about a bag we wanted and she brought out this thing with bedazzling and fur all over it that bore little resemblance to what we were looking for. She seemed offended by my presence as well as my volume of voice, which was normal. She seemed to be suggesting I lower my voice as she was doing, speaking barely above a whisper. What is this, a Catholic church? She then proceeded to explain that the bag we wanted was "very hard to get" and that there was a long wait for it. I was finally so disgusted at her coldness that we left. I am not a fan of arrogant people, including customers, but I do expect impeccable service when I am spending the chunk of change that Chanel charges. It is especially nicer when they are friendly and warm. The next day we returned, it was a night and day difference. The new SA was warm and cheery and spoke with normal volume. She was helpful and put us on a wait list with no fuss. We did end up purchasing another item and she was perfectly kind and nicely wrapped up our purchase and thanked us for our time. That was better! 3/5 stars, because the experience varies wildly based on who helps you. read more

Today I finished a salad, which I rarely do. Hillstone has a Thai steak salad that gets me close to the clean plate club. The cafe at Nordstrom's has a tuna salad nicoise that is exceptional. The mix and the outstanding salad dressing were perfection. My lunch partner loved the signature soup, steak barley. We finished it off with a yummy lemon cookie. Single worst experience I have ever had at a Nordstrom. Today I was wearing casual clothes that were apparently too casual for a single person in men's clothes to talk to me. When we arrived we had planned to buy my girl a new set of red bottoms. She had them in her hand and I was going to grab another men's pair, instead the guy went with a different customer. I guess we don't look like we can afford these items. I've lost count of how many custom suits and items that I've bought from there. It was honestly humiliating to be treated this way. I went and talked to John Kasik who agreed this is not how things should have been handled. If I'm not mistaken, this is one of the largest Nordstrom's in their company. It's so big!!! With multiple levels inside one of the world's largest malls, this store has so many different options for you to shop at. Plus, just like every other Nordstrom in the company, you can always order what you can't find online and have it shipped to you for free. While I have a lot of good things to say about Nordstrom, I do have some general tips I'll share in hopes that other consumers find them helpful. 1. They price match. If you find something at a fairly large store chain and they have it for cheaper, Nordstrom will price match it. While in the past year they've amended their price match policies a bit, there's no harm in asking. 2. They have, an essentially, lifetime return policy. Have something in your closet that you've never worn and you still have your receipt/bought it with your Nordstrom card? You can return it to your original form of payment! 3. If you really don't want anyone to bother you when you go in, dress really casually. Like in sweats. It works every time. 4. If you are looking for something and their store doesn't have it, ask to see if other stores in the company have it. I swear my partner always looks for the item that is the last one in company, and they won't stop calling until they've exhausted all their options. Also, good for them for being closed more so on holidays than other stores. They treat their employees well! read more

Even though many things here are pricey, I love this store. I go for 2 main reasons but always find many more.... 1. The best bathrooms in the mall. 2. Best shoe department ever. Also, the ladies in the bra department are very helpful. As they are in jeans. Once they were patient enough w/me and 2 other ladies to allow us to try on every high end jean (we ended up buying none). This Nordstrom offers excellent service. Every department I've ever shopped in is just superb, and always exceeds my expectations. We have 2 Nordstrom locations in Minnesota, and the Mall of America location has a broader selection of merchandise than the Ridgedale location. I've always received the best service in the cosmetics and fragrance areas, these employees are all wonderful, and extremely helpful. I would say the shoe department is my second favorite department, followed my TBD. I can always count on Nordstrom to have the most up to date styles and trends. What's nice is there is a price range of shoes and clothing throughout several departments, so you can shop based on your budget and comfort level. Always a treat to shop here. read more

Lingerie department at Nordstrom MOA - I needed a new bra, and hesitated being fitted because it can be a daunting experience. But Mary was quite amazing. She was engaging, calm, comfortable, and immediately figured out what I was seeking. Mary spent time with me explaining how my bra should fit. This review is on the Nordstrom Rack in MOA. My most recent visit was March 7. I got there early in the morning hoping to arrive before the packs of wild hyenas attacked the displays, but it didn't matter, everything was a mess. Clothing on the floor or hung up under the wrong size markers, jewelry a tangled mess, and the shoe dept as always, looked like a tornado had come through. I am a shoe freak, I have hundreds of pairs but I cannot stand the mixed up, too-high, overstuffed, too-narrow, dirty, dark, claustrophobic shoe racks at the Rack. There are probably at least a dozen pair hiding in there that I can't live without, if only I could bear to look for them. It's criminal to treat shoes this way. I'm not a shopping snob, I will spend hours wandering around a TJ Maxx or picking through Macy's clearance racks searching for a hidden gem, but the Rack gets on my last nerve. Especially the shoes. A lot of things are damaged or stained; you need to scrutinize every item. If I do manage to find something I like, the gridlocked check out lines are a fabulous deterrent to actually going thru with the purchase. read more

I am very much a Nordie's girl and I always find that they have the best taste in what they put out for clothes/shoes. I have gotten two excellent business suits here that are very flattering, thanks to the awesome ladies in the Point of View section, so I would definitely recommend them before any other place in town. Their cosmetic department can be sorta hit or miss, but I still always find what I need. The counter girls are always helpful, but not in the "I'm going to hound you til you buy something" way. Now I go because the customer service is unparalleled. It doesn't matter what price range you can afford. They're always professional and one step ahead of you. Also, if they're out of something in the store, they can order it for you online and get you free shipping. I worked with someone yesterday and ended up getting her business card. Disclaimer: This is for the women's shoes and handbags departments only. I am a typical Minnesotan and bundle up when it's cold outside and that includes Hunter rain boots to combat the salt and snow of the disgusting Midwest winters. As I ran out the door yesterday, I noticed that my rain boots (beloved staple) were cracking. Sure, they are not expensive but any rain boots crack and Hunters are not supposed to. I immediately called Hunter and since I bought them just over a year ago, they said there was nothing they could do for me but that I should try Nordstrom where I bought them. Now I keep all my boots looking new by cleaning them properly and they were not "used" in any rough means. They looked new... Until the crack. I called Nordstrom and they said to pop in with the receipt. Sadly I didn't have that receipt but I still had the card I had purchased them with. The manager came over (a super cute blonde lady--I think her name was Debbie) and she gave me an exchange after seeing the crack and using my card to pull up the receipt. Like wow! She was beyond helpful and nice. I can't say enough how awesome she was. She even suggested I not purchase the packable boots since that might be why they cracked. I walked out the happiest customer. Now the handbag department is amazing as well. I buy a lot of Long Champ bags and they always get frayed corners after about 5-6 months. At Nordstrom I can bring be bag in and they send it to get fixed for a mere $10-$30 dollars. The bag comes back typically within a week and it looks brand new again. I really like this option since I don't need new bags I just want them always looking new. The Long Champ bags are great for working out, traveling, cosmetics, laptops, shoes, stay overs, etc. because they don't hold in smells (nylon) and they are stain free. Genius.
