A more upscale thrifting experience. I was genuinely impressed by how clean and organized this store was, considering it's a thrift store. I was just walking by to head somewhere else but was lured in by the display of boots visible from the window (and of course the "up to 90% off" sign). Upon entry I was given a friendly greeting by the employee behind the register, who let me know that there were some $1 bargains around the shop. I took some time to explore the aisles. It is entirely a clothes/accessories thrift shop, so tops, bottoms, coats, shoes, purses, hats, gloves, jewelry. Probably around 3/4s the inventory is "women's" and 1/4 "men's" (if you adhere to the gender binary; I personally shop both sides). I didn't see any kids clothes, so if you're searching for that I'd recommend going elsewhere. Good range of sizes on footwear! They even have a dressing room so you can try things on if you'd like to make sure it fits, and I noticed a couple spots with a small bench to make trying on shoes a little easier to accomplish too. These spots also had a full-length tri-panel mirror to give you multiple angles to view your potential new item. Like I said, this place felt reasonably upscale! Not at all like slumming it, even though there were indeed quite a few things marked down to $1 clearance. While I was there, a couple came in to hand off some of their hand-me-downs. Apparently this place will offer you cash in exchange for donations. So if you have something that's got little to no wear and need some change, this might be a good choice over just dropping off at Goodwill. Didn't purchase anything this time, but I'll likely pop back in another time when I finally need to replace my running shoes. Why buy new when I could get a nearly-new pair here for $15-30? read more

Had a great experience here! I just so happened to have clothes to donate in my car, and passed this so decided to swing in. Check in to sell was smooth and their store is massive! I'll definitely be back to shop. I looked at the shoes briefly and they had some great options! Bigger variety and space than the MG one. I ended up getting $50 for my clothes - I was shocked! I do wish they texted you when they were done going through your clothes like the MG Style Encore does. I'll be back to donate and shop again! read more

I've been into style encore and it's great. I just got off the phone with them and whoever answered the phone went out of her way to help me with even more information about something I wanted. Last time I visited the store I was really disappointed in every aspect. The clothes and bags pretty much were within 5 to 10 bucks of retail value Second hand items should have a considerable price reduction. I understand brand and quality but a bag I looked up only had a 6.00 difference. Staff was rude and talking about me amongst themselves and I could hear them , how kind! They have so much on their racks you can't even move the hangars to see what you are looking at , just my last visit! read more

Love Style Encore for their massive selection. One of the better curated collections of thrifted finds around. They're also organized by size type AND color, which makes shopping for specifics easy. On my last round in, I did find it a little hard to shop, the racks were a little too packed in the athletic section to be able to actually see what was available. I would also recommend the ladies practice better attitudes in store while customers are present. While I was quiet as a mouse shopping and I am certain they may have forgotten I was there, it was easy to overhear one gal lamenting about what one customer brought in to sell, saying things like "what is this sh*t? No one is going to buy this sh*t. " she did course correct and mentioned "but listen to me judging so hard." And chuckled a bit. While I am pretty relaxed, I can imagine that might make others uncomfortable. Just a word of caution! Otherwise, I really enjoy shopping here as they make sure to take really good care of their selection. Prices are a little higher than other thrift stores, but with good reason. The store is clean and doesn't smell weird like other thrift stores can. And they have a large selection of consigned designer bags which makes it easy to shop and see in person. I have bought and sold here many times over the years. My recent experience makes me want to never return. I asked about return policy as I was buying items for someone else. I was told returns could be done within a week, with original receipt and tags on the merchandise. I purchased on 4/3, went to return on 4/9 with everything as stated. Was told they would only return to my original form of purchase. I stated that the last place I used my card was their store and it was missing from my purse, so who knows if they even returned it to me. I asked if I could get a merchandise credit. I was told no, as their store policy stated that it could only be to the original form of purchase. I was standing next to their store policy and it said NOTHING about having to have the original form of purchase. I looked at my receipt and it says, "Return policy: 7 days with tags attached & original receipt." nothing about only the original form of payment and no store credit. the ridiculous thing is they offer you store credit when you sell things there. Really disgusted w/a store that has no desire to work with their customers. read more

Went here with a bag of items I wasn't planning on wearing any longer they picked out a handful and I was able to get cash in less then 20 min! Super friendly gal working the front and seemed to be the only worker. I browsed the store while waiting for my items to be reviewed and they had tons of great clothes a large variety and extremely clean and organized. This place is terrible. Went with a few name brand shirts from Macy's that still had the TAGS on them and had never been worn before. They told me they aren't "in-style" or what they are looking for. First off ; YEAH RIGHT. Like another reviewer said, Anne Klein and older woman's brands seem to be the only things in there. Second off, the two woman in their were not very friendly and bad vibes. COMPLETE waste of time. Actually happy they didn't take my beautiful unused clothes. I wouldn't want them at that store anyway. read more

Hello, I would like to share my story. On Sunday August 12th I visited Style Encore Eagan, with very high expectations, as their competitors Turn Style and Clothes Mentor have excellent stores. I brought in a small bin of freshly cleaned, neatly folded items. All of my items were brand name and very cute. I was told it would only take about 20 minutes to go through my items, however after looking through the store for an hour they were still not done. As I was looking through the items on the racks (very unimpressed, I might add) I met who I believe was the owner (I think her name was Brittney) and judging by her style I would say she was not necessarily fit to be judging people's clothing, nor own a clothing store. After my buy was finished they offered to take one item for a very low price. I will not be returning and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know to avoid this store at all costs. read more

As a previous reviewer stated: "This place is terrible". Stopped in a few days ago with high-end Spring/Summer attire and a designer bag in excellent condition. I'm not sure they know brands and quality when they see it - I don't believe they do. I have never, ever, been so "low-balled" in my entire life at a re-sale or consignment store. BEWARE: They are under new ownership, and honestly, this place has gone down hill with regard to product knowledge, common courtesy, and store presentation. Will never go back. I do not recommend this re-sale store to anyone - it is just plain awful. I feel better off donating my expensive items to a shelter rather than being low-balled by the new owner. read more

This store must only market to blue color Mellenials?? I brought in some designer, beautiful items including 2 wool lined designer blazers (after all, winter is coming), some classy formal designer party dresses (Christmas and New Years Eve are coming!), and some current more casual dresses and tops, all in perfect condition, and everything was rejected. The girl explained that it had to do with rules from "corporate"...huh?? She said that nicer items don't sell well, to whom? I love stuff like this and so do my wealthy yet frugal older friends, who don't shop there anymore because they don't cater to a larger demographic. read more

A great alternative to full priced stores. The store is organized very nicely by size and color. Very clean and friendly staff. I was able to snag a purse that retails for $80 for $15! I also found a cute Maurice's top. My only critique is the selection in plus size clothing, which was limited, maybe 15-20 items per section (long sleeve, sleeveless, etc), but that's not their fault, they get what comes in! I shopped here a few times and really liked the store before bringing in some clothing to sell. The 2 older women that helped me only took a few items and I got very little cash for them. I had some expensive items that were barely worn. They did not explain why they were rejected and were cold to me after giving my clothes back. Awful experience yesterday. Took many name brand, never worn items and they wanted to only take the Coach purse, Uggs, a jacket, and two pairs of shoes for 60 bucks. The issue I had was that I brought in about 80 things. I felt like Mary barely looked at my items and was very condescending. She was looking at my things like they weren't good enough. Judging by her attire, I would have to say that this woman doesn't have the best sense of style to be able to accurately decide on other peoples clothing. Then you look through the racks and see clothing that is shabby and outdated, but they won't take your items due to the "2 year window". Give me a break. I have beautiful clothes and left there feeling insulted. I will never return and will stick with Clothes Mentor and Turnstyle. read more

I stopped with a box of clothing to sell. I was told they would take NONE of my items (some were new, with tags; all of my items were name brand, i.e. Ann Taylor, Jones New York, Gap, White House Black Market, Lucky, Karen Kane, Nike, Lululemon. The gal was very condescending, and they would not take any of my items. While browsing through the store, I noticed most of their for sale items were from Target and Kohls! I love the way this store is set up, very color coded, organized sections, clean, fun accessories and hand bags. The reason I am giving this store 2/5 stars, is because of the employees that work here. I have sold here a couple times and the way they go about declining offers makes you feel like you're being talked down upon. If you don't want to purchase my things, be straight to the point and simple. Do not talk to me like a child. None of the employees nor the owner (Mary?) have any personality, they seem as though they rehearse everything they are going to say before they open the store in the morning. Very caddy, condescending, and sometimes rude, especially the owner. She seems to sit back and watch the employees work while she pretends she is royalty. Your store is nice, but don't forget you work in a USED clothing store. Stop acting like you work in Versace, Louis Vuitton, etc and learn how to treat your customers better. I absolutely love this store!!! Style Encore is way better than the consignment shops. The quality of clothing is very nice and the prices are very reasonable. I have sold some items, and have bought some items as well. Mary and her staff are so nice and its always such a happy shopping experience when I go there. I especially love my brand new Dooney and Bourke purse that I got for way less than I would have paid at the department store. read more

If I could give a negative number as a rating I would. This is the worst consignment shop I have ever dealt with, and I have visited many in the area. I was so happy to see one in my back yard of Eagan, however, not only was I treated poorly, it was apparent that no one had gone through a single item of the 8 bags of beautiful cloths (all cleaned and all on hangers), designer pursers and shoes, I dropped off. Rather, when I got there, they offered me $14 dollars for several straw sun hats. When I asked for some clarification of why they were rejected, I pulled out several Chico pieces and was told that the orange top was too bright, and the sundress had too many patterns on it - I kid you not. They offered to look through it again, and I agreed, thinking for sure this was a mistake and it would work out better the second time around. However, on my second return, they selected 3 items and rejected the rest. I can understand if I was trying to dump terrible clothing off at this store, but believe me when I tell you these pieces were great. If they don't have the room or money to take on additional inventory they should be honest. I turned around and went to TurnStyle in Burnsville, where the staff was great and took 90% of my items. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR EFFORT AT THIS STYLE ENCORE STORE - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. read more
