This is the brand new CAP thrift store, located in a previous Pier One store. There was a sign on…read moredoor saying Holiday stuff 25% off. I found a few things including MN Twins Zubaz pants, elf from elf on a shelf, vintage felt Santa, pig tail barbecue turner new in box, Justin Timberlake 20/20 CD, and a wooden log foot stool or shoe rack. The staff was super friendly. The prices weren't ridiculously high. There are bathrooms at the back right corner of the store. There were small half carts and the rolling baskets. Parking was plentiful. The store is super clean and not cluttered. Stop in and maybe you'll find a treasure or 2 or 3.

If you're down to scrounge, this place might be for you (I'd just urge you to wash your hands after). That said, I specifically went here today because I needed a stapler. Mine went missing when I moved (probably in some box I've yet to unpack in my storage unit), and there's zero need to purchase a brand new stapler when I know I can get an old reliable Swingline from a thrift place like this (plus, I remembered on my first amble through here that they had a whole basket of staplers). Sure enough, I was able to acquire a stapler. But you can bet your ass that I brought along some staples to test out said staplers... the first one I picked up had a busted spring, but the second was fully functional. Both had been priced at $3. I mention this simply as a word of warning to consider testing before you buy.) I also picked up a bobbin thread case and a quart sized bag of crayons (both priced at $3) while I was there. This place is good for finding the kind of craft stuff your granny would keep around at a low price. And honestly, you're doing the environment a BIG favor to snag this kind of thing off a thrift store shelf rather than "convenience buy" it off Amazon or whatever. You can save money and feel good about yourself. The rest of the store has stuff like glassware, clothing, kids stuff, and holiday decor. It's not all amazing stuff. I reckon a lot of folks donate stuff they don't care to sort through when an elderly parent finally kicks it. The employee behind the checkout counter was a little slow to bother acknowledging me, but once we were interacting, they were friendly enough and wished me a good day; seemed like they were happy I actually bought something instead of just browsing.

The surprise is that it is non profit supporting charities and churches by over Two million. The prices are less than normal thrift stores for clothing but the furniture they gave us the gem! I found a Kors by Michael Kors 100% wool coat for $7 here... which is a STEAL! I also got a 100% merino wool sweater for $5 which I noticed that there were holes in them but decided to take a chance in them by planning to sew it up myself. I do note that the place is small and can feel a bit cramped, but when I went on a Saturday in the late afternoon, there was only one other person in the shop. They mostly have women's and children's clothes, but they have some trinkets there as well.

They are now located in Saint Paul on Snelling and I'm thrilled as a STP girly. My friend introduced me to the shop after she scored some cowboy boots for a themed party. We visited together on a Sunday and were able to snag some fun deals including a swimming suit, a dress I plan to wear for Halloween, and some tops. Buffalo Exchange sells both men and women's clothing along with shoes and accessories. Pricing is fair and the interior is clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and helps bring items to the dressing room to try on and write your name on a big board. Upon purchase, you will be handed a token if you don't take a bag or bring your own bag. From there, you get to pick a charity of your choice to donate a percentage of your purchase to with no extra fees included.
