This is one of my favorite Macy's because of the staff but this time they didn't deliver. I went to the women's department and the cashier wasn't the nicest. Very pushy. She asked if I wanted to open up a card to save 30 percent -without is 25. She can't give both. Um, ok. I didn't ask her so I said no. She said you don't want to save money ? I told her I had one a long time ago and I'm trying not to have so many cards. Then she said ok. She was nice enough to offer me hangers but when it came down to paying and the screen asks if you want to round up for charity she said round up for charity more like a demand instead of a question. I always do anyway but the whole interaction wasn't personable or professional at all. Didn't catch her name but she was an older Asian lady. I hope to never deal with her again. I had a really disappointing terrible experience at Macy's yesterday with an employee named Josh. The heels I picked up were clearly marked $28, but when he rang them up he tried to charge me $53. When I questioned the price, he started raising his voice insisting I had to pay $53. When I asked for a manager, he refused to call one, so I had to go ask another employee myself. When I tried to take my heels to a different checkout, he even grabbed the heels back from me. The situation became very hostile over something that should have been a simple price check. Once the manager got involved, the correct $28 price was honored, which shows that I was right to question it. What made the experience worse that he was calm and polite to other customers but treated me very differently, which honestly made the interaction feel discriminatory and very uncomfortable. No customer should be treated like that for asking about a price, and having to almost be overcharged. I hope Macy's looks into this because it made the whole shopping experience unpleasant. read more

I have been a Macy's customer since roughly 1982. A dedicated customer... ordering most all my clothing, footwear, cosmetics from them. What kind of "business decision" is this??? Macys really never gives me issues at all but this holiday for Christmas they definitely gave me an issue. I just wanted to buy my dad his gift. I had found a better gift and wanted to just do a return and buy the other one she kept saying I can't do an exchange I told her I didn't want to do an exchange but just a return and buy the other one. She goes back and forth with me and finally says ok you can do that. She asked me if I needed a bag and I said "does those complimentary bags over at the wrapping table free or does that count as a bag?" She said oh you can't get those bags and I'm wondering on why I can't get one of those bags, I then just ask her please wrap my gift and she said oh it's already wrapped with the ribbon so you can't get it wrapped I asked if she can just take the ribbon off and wrap it then put back the ribbon she said she can't do it. I asked why she couldn't and she kept saying I just can't wrap it it's already wrapped, I asked another associate and he gladly said yes and asked me who had said no to the gift wrapping I had told him who and he told the lady o wanted my gift wrapped she didn't say anything to me and just took off and started wrapping my gift. She didn't cut the ripped wrapping that was ripped on the sides and just used the wrinkly paper I didn't want this wrapping and if I knew she was going to wrap my gift horribly wrong I wouldn't asked the associate that I asked earlier if he could wrap it. I am honestly disappointed in Macys cause how could you deny a wrapping? Especially around the holidays! read more

Christopher who works in the Men's department offers TERRIBLE service. I was in his section looking at shirts, shorts, etc.. for over 5 minutes and at no point did he approach me. Macy's is the worst place to shop. They are not reliable and take no responsibility for their actions. The delivery system is broken and there is absolutely no communications between customer service and customers. The customer service sucks and they have no idea what they are doing. I ordered two Sofas customized, in December 2024. Paid the deposit and I was to wait for delivery for end of March delivery. I got rid of my old furnitures and called today March 25th to confirm the deliver date since I did not hear back from them to make sure of the time and date of delivery. 1. They could not find my order 2. They said they have difficulty contacting manufacture 3. They said I did not pay for it. I send the verification that I did pay the deposit as requested ( have the receipt ) and they were supposed to call for payment when furnitures were ready. 4. They told me that Redmond Macys furniture was closed and they are sorry, they can give my deposit back. 5. They said they cannot call manufacturers to get update and they only send e-mail and they that have no time line. This not acceptable. Yikes. I'll start by saying all the associates I have encountered have been friendly and helpful. However, the store is a mess. Never put together, clothes on the floor. Tons of racks full of clothes in the dressing room never put back and the dress section... yikes!!! It's very overwhelming and disorganized. I'd love to just get in there, size every shelf and rack and put away all the clothes its just the wild west in there. Due to Covid, Macy's isn't the same. There were fewer sales people & lack of merchandise in various sizes. Luckily I found a few items in the 'Last Act' section which is the final price section where there are no returns or exchanges. Essentially sold 'as is' & the women's selection was pretty big. Most sizes were a petite or extra, extra large. The same goes for the women's shoe department. There were bargains galore! Slimmer pickings in the housewares and bedding department. Honestly with the right management this store has a lot of potenial but it has really been going down hill and needs to be staffed. I needed a new dress shirt. Macys men store is like shopping at Ross or TJ Maxx or Marshall's. They had proud displays talking about different sizes and how they fit, except they only had slim shirts (literally 90% of products were slim, with minimal regular and even less extra slim or athletic fit). About 60% or products are on a massive jumbo rack - you know like clearance except they're full price - so you have dumpster dive the rack chaos. I don't mind that for a clearance discount or Marshall's/Ross prices but for full price MSRP Macys price? No way. No one to help, just enough staff to run the check out. Fitting Rooms are littered with needles - why? Because Macys doesn't think people need a pin cushion or somewhere to stick the needles. People have tried using the door stop or corners of the room. Seriously disappointed at Macys. It used to be good value for men's wear. I was in a rush so ended up ordering from Amazon with next day shipping to get what I needed after wasting 3 hours at Macys. If you're in the market for men's wear - just go somewhere else. Online, lower price retailers or upmarket retailers (Nordstrom) - anything but the middle ground that serves no one men's formal/dress wear area at Macys at Bellevue Square. read more

I ordered my friend a birthday present - wanted to spoil her on her special day! I was excited for her to open it! It never arrived When I called I was told that my package couldn't get delivered because the address was a PO BOX. Why in the world it let me make an order that couldn't get delivered? To make matters worse - I accidentally put my friend's address as billing, so the rude agent in the phone refused to give me any information about it and said that my friend has to call herself. I asked for manager and they put me on hold for 40 minutes and then dropped me. What an awful customer service and unreliable company. Never again! read more

I ordered an item and it never shipped, only a label was printed. I chatted with a Consumer service and they assured me it would be here on a specific date. Nope. The date came and went with only a label printed. I chatted again. Spent 45 min. going in circles for a refund. They tried to give me another date. NO. All they want is to push the date past the 30-day return. Finally, I was given the option to refund. I just to get this as a response. "Per your request, I have submitted your claim for a refund. You should receive the email on 12/16/2023 with an update on your request" So, in 9 days they will review my claim. I want a refund!! It shouldn't be this hard for them to see they didn't ship the item and to issue a refund. I called my credit card and filed a claim. Macy's your a ZERO. read more

Horrible customer service! Never going to come here again. I walked into your store on Sunday at 7:50 pm and asked to have an associate come over to help in the men's shoe area. I knew which shoe I wanted and what size- I just needed somebody to grab it so I can pay for it. The gentleman at your customer service desk called someone to come over and no body did. at eight pm your store lights were turned off. When I walked back to the customer service associate , I asked them if they were busy and he said "I guess so, sorry about that". As I went to find a different employee to help, one of your other employees who was not wearing any Macy's attire or name tag told me they were closed and the exit behind me was the only one open. His demeanor and communication was very rude and not one that should ever be used with customers. This is not acceptable. If someone comes into your store and wants to spend money on an item you sell, than you should at least try and sell that item to them. The dressing rooms had no one working in them and were total mayhem. There were clothes thrown everywhere and no one knew what was going on. I then waiting in a line for about half an hour, and there was only one lady working the register. The line wasn't even that long, but each person took 5-10 minutes to help. There were other workers walking around, and no one stepped up at the second register. I'm not sure how exactly the store runs, but they are clearly understaffed. I do not fault the workers- this is clearly a management issue. How are these people ever supposed to even step away and go the the bathroom?!Unreal. read more

I was shopping with my Wife around Christmas during extended hours looking for some jeans. My Wife found some she wanted to try on. We noticed that the dressing rooms were closed. When we asked a sales associate, she mentioned that only one was open for trying on items and pointed us in the right direction. We followed the directions, but all were closed. We found her and asked again and she gave us the same instructions. Finally, we asked another sales associate who informed us that all dressing rooms were closed permanently due to COVID. We walked out and on the way out asked yet another sales associate and they replied the dressing rooms close early but are open if you come earlier in the day. Get on the same page people. It should be expected you know your policy where you work. Especially a Department store that sells clothes where people try on frequently. COVID we understand. Just align your communication. Needless to say, we walked out and bought 5 pairs of jeans at Nordstrom. My recommendation is don't waste your time here. Go with where you can expect great service and a higher standard. read more

This Macy's inside Bellevue Square is pretty big with the standard department store items and has an entrance equal with the free parking garage. I like the selection of women's clothing here. It's better than what I've seen in the store in downtown Seattle and Southcenter. Macy's always has sales going on. Sign up for free text messages to be notified about sales. You'll also be spammed to death about coupons, sales, 15% extra off, etc. etc. These coupons help out when buying something special or pricey. I like the brands of clothing sold at Macy's. Also, I like the people that work here that have been trained in what they do so they can find things quickly and easily for me when I need help. read more

Terrible customer service. Macy has lost a customer forever. I will no longer be shopping here again. This review is for Macys in Bellevue Square Mall (in the Home & Furniture section). Today, I went shopping with my husband to find a picture frame for our beloved family member who has passed away recently, so we can put his picture in our house. There was a frame that I did not see a price tag on but I thought was beautiful. I asked my husband, "Maybe we should get this frame?" When we got to the cash register, I found out the picture frame was $180! I told the associate that I do not want it anymore, and she asked, "Is this for your family or for his family (my husband)?" I said, "It's for my husband's." And she proceeds to say with an attitude, "Well then he should be able to get what he wants." I'm literally appalled because how could you treat a customer like that without knowing their story? We have medical costs, funeral costs, etc. to pay for. Without knowing the context, she proceeds to treat me rudely. After returning the $180 frame, we purchased 3 other frames (around $20 each). Finally, she handed my husband the bag and made sure I heard, "I'm sorry you did not get the frame you wanted." I am beyond speechless. The disregard of someone's financial/emotional situation is appalling. This is why I always choose Nordstrom. I will no longer be shopping at Macys again. I only hope they can train their employees better and improve their customer service. read more

Super easy to stop in if you just want to park in their garage and grab something at Macy's real quick to avoid going to the rest of the mall and overspending on that sad 1% back credit card that Wells Fargo bride you to sign up for when you were a naive 18 year old all in exchange for free cookies. They have a Lenscrafter and Sunglass Hut in here that I think has a better selections because it's smaller so only the good shit makes it to the shelf here. I like the Material Girl collection at Macy's, a lot of the time things are actually more on sale than you see on the tag. I used to shop at Macys all the time. All the Seattle stores are now closed so I rely on online shopping. I just placed a rather large order. I have to exchange a few items for different sizes and was told that if I don't do that in person, they will not honor the sale price. Unbelieveable! I purchased Lancôme cosmetics at Macy's. There are 10 items of worth $422 but they offered special promotion at the time so I paid only $120. It comes with Eye Cream,Concentrate cream, Eye Shadow, face shadow, Bi Facial eye make up remover,mascara base,mascara,2 lipsticks,eyeliner pencil and make up case. I waited in three different lines to check out, took at least 20 mins total to get to a cashier. Majority of the people in line were either paying their macys cards (who still does that in person in 2023?) or executing some elaborate return and rebuy scam with their macys cards. I purchased a $79 pair of ballet flats at the end of December (on sale) they had some bead embellishments that fell off after wearing them twice. I purchased the shoes online and when I called customer service about the issue they said I could just return them to the store. I stopped by Macy's at Bellevue square. The person said she couldn't give me a refund without a receipt I showed her the receipt on my phone that I received. I showed her the same receipt through my Macy's app. She said she'd give me a gift card for store credit. I said no they're defective I'd like it returned how I paid. I asked for a manager. The manager came by and kind of looked at her sales person like wth why didn't you refund her? She refunded my credit card I used to buy them and the sales person said next time we won't do this it's an over ride. On my way out of the store the manager apologized for her staff and said that she'd been wrong and I did have sufficient evidence of payment. Good grief. read more

Excellent sale prices as a substitution for service. I visited this location in search of boat shoes. I was able to find the specific type and at an amazing price. The challenge was finding someone to assist in getting the size from the back room. There was one cashier assisting a customer with a large order. I walked the whole 2nd floor looking for another associate that can assist. Unsuccessful, I hesitantly lined up with 5 other customers. The whole wait time was about 30 minutes and still no other cashiers visible to assist. The lack of service was astounding. It was finally my turn and the cashier stops me so she can ask the other customers in line if there was anyone else that needs to pick up an order. Once that was done she proceeded to assist me in finding the correct shoe size. Paying for my merchandise was quite frustrating. Despite the numerous declines on offers of establishing a Macy's card, there was still a rebuttal from the associate on why I should reconsider. It took 4 no's and a reasoning of lack of airline miles rewards to finally complete the transaction. Though the sale prices are attractive, I would reconsider based on overall customer service, wait times, and associate demeanor. read more

Although the store has declined in appearance and sometimes service the deals are still there. The coupons and savings are the only reason we keep on returning. Even though on a recent trip only 2 dressing rooms were open with a 15 minute wait and absolutely filthy..we still ended up purchasing clothes. The salespeople look overwhelmed and very tired. I don't understand how this store sunk to the equivalent of Sears as it descended down to almost oblivion. Macys still has the higher brands we look for albeit poorly displayed. On a recent trip we had a fifteen percent discount on cosmetics which was a great discount. The salesperson was helpful and tried to up sale me to demonstrate more money saved which was great. The Macys success of today hinges on the cost savings and less on the bells and whistles of a shiny appearance.
