They both immediately helped, pulling so many different options and were so kind during the entire process. I'm a fan of Madewell (and J.Crew!) so love that there is a location at Bell Square. And it's a fairly good one, too! The store is a decent size, compared to other locations, with a lot of stock and sizes. Many popular styles can run out at other locations, but the items at Bell Square mostly seem to be available. For the most part, items are organized and store is clean...unless it's during the holiday craze where everyone seems to be shopping here! Regardless, this location is one to check out if you're a Madewell fan. Plus, the customer service is top-notch. Employees are very friendly and there's always someone who is ready to help you get a fitting room, take your items and find different sizes of the items you've tried on. Though I have browsed Madewell quite a few times, I have purchased primarily a variety of cotton/cotton-blend tops. Almost all of them were on sale to a varying degree. Their prices are on the higher side. I tend to like the quality and feel of their cotton tops - soft and looks like good material. They recently started a "whisper" tee line that are nearly see-through thin. Not a fan. I also have not been a fan of their poly-blend tops; they are paper thin and often starts at about a hundred. Eek. I've passed on their sweaters too; they might be wool blend as they felt coarse. For the tops I bought, the odd thing is their sizing. Perhaps it's the design, but I own every size from XXS to L. The L is a tad baggy, but it looks just fine on. Woman clothing simply sucks when it comes to sizes; it's such a mix bag. The staff at this store is ok enough. I have only needed the basic services. On Black Friday when the store is crowded, with its fitting area not at the back but in the middle, a staff member mistakenly yanked open the curtain of someone who was changing inside. I love Madewell, and I have been a customer for years. My experience at the Bellevue Madewell store was extremely poor. I was not greeted at the store and was not offered help while all other customers got helped. Lady at the cash register (first name initial was D.) was extremely helpful and nice towards the Caucasian customers in front of me. However, when It was my turn to pay, her attitude completely changed. She did not acknowledge me. Her speech was completely disrespectful. I sure did not feel welcomed there. This Madewell store is in an awesome location; it is located around all these nice shops in Bellevue Square (BCBG, Michael Kors, the Microsoft and Apple stores). I love Madewell's cute casual style! Be on the lookout for storewide sales - for instance, the days after Thanksgiving they had a store wide 25% off. The sales racks in the back are usually pretty full too and if you're lucky they have additional X% off sale items sometimes. I have gotten a pair of yellow skinny jeans for around $30 and a pair of leather boots for around $170. My only grief is that the non-sale prices tend to be a bit too high for me. Madewell is owned by J. Crew so I guess that's where the high prices come from. For instance, nice blouses would be going for about $100 or so. Ankle boots are around $210 regular price. This is why I tend to wait for the sales. The sales associates are also pretty helpful here too. read more

Horrible customer service. Wouldn't allow me to return a shirt just over 60 days since I bought it, when I explained that the reason why I was unable to return sooner is that I've been traveling out the country. I had the original receipt, tag still on the item and was willing to accept store credit or exchange for another item. Good way to lose a loyal customer, I won't be shopping at Madewell ever again. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced at Madewell. Will not visit bell square location again, or recommend it. I went to ask their policy when a pair of jeans ripped after only 4 months of use. The employee checked with her supervisor, said they were defective, and they'd credit me $115 for a new pair. So I shopped and found a replacement pair after about 20 min. Went back to ask for the $115 store credit and the employee took it back, and said they could only credit $50. I asked them what changed after 20 min, and all they could say was "I'm sorry". Needless to say, very poor experience. $115 only buys you 4 months of use, and poor customer service. Buyers beware. read more

I am in love with Madewell - love the clothing (totally my style) but what is really great is the customer service that they give to their customers. I have been to the Bellevue Square store as well as the University Village Store and I received the same great service at both stores! The people that work there remember me, things about me and the clothes that I have bought before. One gal called every single store to try to find a top that I wanted that had sold out in my size. She wasn't successful BUT it meant a lot to me that she tried. I will ALWAYS go back and shop somewhere that I know I will be taken care of! read more

Great customer service, I went in to but some accessories to replace the ones that got stolen from me. The young lady working there (Malia ) helped me out, she was so professional. She told me about all their store offers and when she knew about me being robbed, she looked up my past invoices and found it. This is the nicest, most polite and fun Madewell in the Seattle/Eastside area! I did not feel judged or looked down upon when I first stepped foot inside! Riley and Amy were absolutely fantastic to work with! They helped me with size when I tried on this gorgeous new dress for wedding season. I ended up with a Small when I thought I was a Large! And the dress was even more gorgeous in person. They help me make sure it fit well in all the right places and told me straight out that my confidence makes me rock the dress even more.
