No one approached me with the "If you're going to buy something" reprimands, I got the opposites, I took a bus to save the $22 tolls a one person car pays. My grateful review is one person was over the top helpful when I asked where a bus comes soon, the gentleman immediately told me how to get the where I was going and offered to lead over to make sure I found the stop. A very polite girl told me at 6:15 that I needed to make my purchases, since they were closing at 6 today due to "modified hours." I completely understand sudden issues, but a sign on the door, an announcement, SOMETHING would have been better than driving all the way here and wasting my time. This is my local DWS. For the most part, it's pretty good. The staff is nice, though tends to be limited. The inventory is "what you see is what we have", i.e. go look for it yourself. I like their clearance sales, with additional discounts, often bringing prices to more than 50% off. The one odd thing about this store is that it's dim and dreary. I always want to get in, get out, and not stay, which is the last thing you want from a store that you need to browse to find what you want. The other DSW I go to is in Factoria, and it's much brighter. Either way, I'm glad to have this store nearby for the occasional browse. read more

Appalling lack of customer service and rude sales clerks. The sales clerks and managers will not open another register when there are customers waiting. They either stand around, staring into space, or shuffle merch. Today I waited 20 minutes while an Indian lady tried to return shoes so that she could apply a coupon after she took them home. The clerk had issues because the customer used rewards lowering the total below the threshold required by said coupon. Manage was standing there and just stared into space, while the clerk struggled to get it to work. The clerk asked the manager for help. The manager just stares into space for a minute and slowly scoots over to help. Nearly 20 minutes have gone by and finally, I am next. The clerk seemed angry when I used the same coupon as the previous customer. She then snapped at me "I put the receipt in the box". Slammed the box cover and stormed off. Wow!! The manager was still standing next to her and had no reaction. Will not be frequenting this store. Order a pair of Sandals online and went to pick it up at the store. The curbside pick up was easy to use and pretty quick. However when I got home I was only giving the left shoe out of the pair. The store was closed at this point so had to wait till first thing in the morning. I called and spoke to the manager and the only solution was to find the right shoe and then call me back. I I called back after ten minutes still no shoe and still no solution. IM extremely unsatisfied. Because I literally drove 30 minutes through traffic to pick up this shoes for my trip and I feel like there was no thought nor concern of the time that I'm wasting to handle This situation when it was their fault. read more

I prefer buying my shoes at DSW. The prices overall seem lower than they would be at bigger stores, and their quality is pretty good too. On two separate occasions, I was able to buy a nice pair of running shoes for like $60. I feel that I couldn't get the same at Target or Big 5. The selection is organized fairly well with it being obvious where everything is. They have disposable liners in case you want to try on shoes but don't have socks. All the sizes are well covered so you don't have to worry about them fitting you. I don't think the store is that large, but they don't really need to be with all they have in stock. read more

It is really difficult to find the right shoes either because it is out of stock or the item is not on sale. It is pretty pricey. **Update** Okay, I'm still a fan of the store, still a card-carrying "DSW Rewards" customer, and still I laud the store's praises. But I'd not recommend getting work-out sneakers here. Why? Despite a great selection of running, walking and cross-training sneakers here, they have a strange policy that one cannot get return any shoes if the soles showed that they've been used. I was about to purchase a pair of cross-trainers today. They weren't inexpensive, either, at practically $100. At the cash, I asked, if I get blisters after wearing them, can I return the shoes, or exchange them? After all, I noted that I won't know if they'll be good for my feet until I wear them running outside (what they're advertised for). The sales clerk said no, only if they're worn on carpet could I return them, and I can try them out "in the store". Ummm, sorry, you don't know how running or outdoor cross-trainers are for your feet until they're used, at least once. Every other sports store, where I've purchased work-out/cross-trainers, have always said they could be returned if needed if they didn't work out after a wear or two. This provides me with a lot of peace of mind, as I have wacky feet, prone to blisters. Not DSW. So from now on, I'll stick to getting my sandals and casual shoes and boots here, but NOT my running shoes. read more

The clearance section is not that big (in fact this particular store is not that big), but still pretty decent selection. I wandering the aisles looking for something that sparked my interest. Much to my chagrin I couldn't find anything that I was totally excited about. My mom and sister both found awesome pairs of sandals though! Some clearance, some not. My mom had forgotten her $10 coupon, but the nice lady at the register was able to call up headquarters and get the coupon code for her! How nice! Really great experience. Good customer service. But the thing I most love is their way of making me feel welcome and special even if I'm returning a shoes I wore. Once, I wore a shoe for 2-3 times and it started to have a gap between heels and the shoes. They took it back no question asked. That wasn't the only time. This is one of my happy places, and I can't believe I don't have to drive an hour to get to it. Discount shoes, yeah! The store is located in a strip mall near a supermarket. There's always plenty of parking though you may have to hunt a bit - it's a busy lot. The interior is nice enough - clean and easy to find things. Most important, there's a lot here to find: shoes of every style and brands of all levels. The prices are good, but there are extra markdowns throughout the store, as well as a large clearance section in the back that has a lot of good finds. They seem to mostly have a lot of sizes available, and there are plenty of places to try shoes on. Special tip: sign up for the loyalty program. I've received some super coupons by mail and email as a result, and the extra savings were significant. And if you end up buying a lot of shoes there, you get bonus certificates through the program. Came here to return a pair of shoes and grab a couple new pairs! The sales selection was amazing- so many good options. I ended up walking away with 3 new pairs of shoes. The store was SO clean! Everything was organized. Yury assisted us with the return and the new purchases and was such a gentleman about it. He was extremely helpful and didn't make us feel rushed, even though there were quite a few people in line behind us that seemed impatient. The first time the music was so loud that I ended up having a headache by the time I left. I don't think they realize that the music is louder at other areas in the store. My largest complaint is the selection... I just can never find anything really worth paying for and that includes the discounts that they are giving. Any time you visit a DSW, it's a hunt. You're looking for a fabulous pair of shoes, sandals, boots, etc. for an equally fabulous price. The fact is, you are not guaranteed to find exactly what you're looking for. That's the fun part! I love scouring the clearance racks in back for adorable new pumps or cute strappy sandals. The best part comes when you spot the unicorn of price tags - the YELLOW tag. It isn't listed on the pricing guide, but yellow tags mean 80% off. Yeaaah, baby! This particular store tends to have good turnover in the clearance section, the aisles are pretty wide, everything is laid out well. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, $10 wedges. Too bad, though. I LOVE DSW. The bargains can be hit or miss, but if you're addicted to shoe shopping like me, then join the Rewards program. You'll get coupons mailed to you and always have an excuse to shop. My husband always thinks it challenging to find the right shoes for him, and while that's a problem for him in general, the men's selection is a fraction of the size of the women's. Good selection of purses, bags and wallets, too. There's usually a handful of customer service/sales reps walking the floor offering assistance, which is nice. My biggest complaint about DSW (in general, not just this one) is the slim size selection. They don't keep any stock in the back of the store, so you're forced to wait for a new shipment, drive to another DSW or order them. While I like options, I don't like hassles or having to wait for my purchase to arrive. read more

Cons: Average or below-average quality, given the price. Clearance selection is seriously disorganized and a major disappointment. Anything I selected from there made my feet instantly miserable. Overall? It's okay. They provide good deals and I'll definitely be purchasing some things from there (looking at you, comfortable black Vans that weren't in my size last time I was there) in the future, and I am a DSW member. So it's worth going to if you're looking for shoes. BUT. I prefer to get my work/generally 'nicer' heels from Nordstrom because at the same price, I can find much higher quality there (or at Aldos). Also, I feel like the employees at Nordstrom and Aldos pay more attention to their customers than DSW. read more

Beaware when you return anything here, keep an eye on your bank statement because I learnt it the hard way. last month i made a return of my shoes of $61.44 and instead of crediting it to my account they charged me again this same amount after one month. My bank asked me to talk to the vendor they may be able to help before I place a dispute on this transaction but the manager at DSW refused to help me instead she asked to talk to my bank again, or call customer service. I have already filled a dispute on this transaction but I don't know how I will get back my remaining $61.44 because in total I was charged $122.88. read more
