Combining a general merchandise store with a full-scale supermarket, Fred Meyer provides one-stop service in the Pacific Northwest. We had the opportunity to stop into the Redmond location on a Tuesday night, and found everything we were looking for. Founded in 1922, Fred Meyer became a part of Kroger in 1998, and has provided the superstore concept for a lot longer than either Walmart (1988) or Target (1995). It's very large, with this location even having an upstairs marked as Apparel (though it was closed off...wondering if it closes after a certain hour). The bank inside is Chase, and there is a Starbucks outlet. It has both an indoor and outdoor garden center (with its own entrance and super bored cashier). Because it is owned by Kroger, the grocery section has all the sales and product that a Kroger or Ralphs would have. Even though it has a different mobile app than its siblings, it uses the same login for easier cross connectivity. There are quite a few digital coupons that save a significant amount of money, so it is definitely worth getting and using. read more

Was in Redmond this afternoon so we stopped in for some grocery shopping. This FM has a larger meat section than my local issaquah store. This store is well stocked with fruits and vegetables too. Parking here has never been a problem. And workers are cordial. read more

I was browsing the store with a few items in hand when a worker approached me, asking if I needed help. I said yes, and then he asked if I was going to take the stuff out of the packaging. I told him no, I'm buying it. From that point on, he was unbelievably rude, so I just walked out, leaving behind everything I intended to buy. We don't often come to this FM. But we were looking for an ingredient that sold out at our neighborhood FM. This store is much like the others. It's got all the groceries you need and also non-food stuff (clothes, toys, furniture and other home items). It's a go-to store for groceries when we want smaller items at the right price. read more

I used to live in Redmond and went here all the time. They always had what I was looking for and more. I came in the other day after not coming in for a year and all the employees were so friendly, you don't usually get that kind of customer service in a grocery store and I was pleasantly surprised! I LOVE this store. I've been shopping here for about a decade and it's one of my happy places. The staff are always helpful and in a good mood. I love Freddy's! BUT- I'm writing this review on-line because I don't know how to contact upper management. Today I was looking for a tinted lip balm in the make- up aisles. There is a make up product at a child's eye level labeled "Undercover Hoe". "Hoe" is slang for WHORE which refers to a prostitute or a loose woman. This is, in no universe, appropriate. It actually pissed me off. It appears the product is marketed to drag queens but it's label is derogatory towards women. Thanks in advance for removing this from the store. read more

There is nothing good about the Redmond CVS pharmacy. Their website says they open at 7AM...it opens at 11 on Sundays. The calls go unanswered. I went to there before 11; and it opened AFTER 11!!! Not a way to operate a business. I am going elsewhere.... read more

I walked around for 15 minutes and then tried the phone pick up for the dressing room. No one picked up, had one lady tell me it wasn't her department. So I put away all the clothes that were to potentially go home with me and proceeded to go somewhere else and go shopping. read more

I loved this location until the "new" one nearby at Bellevue open. Now they have been remodeling it as the years past through this store. They have been moving things around and just can't find anything where it was supposed to be or where it was at least. Not even their employees know where stuff is. Sometimes I would have to ask 3 different persons to get the right answer and not "something around there". I just don't get why items should be distributed in 2 different idles at times. I also had a coffee upstairs about a couple of weeks ago. The milk of my friend's coffee was passed or something because it made her through up. The service at the coffee shop wasn't good neither. One of the nicest Fred Meyer stores that I have visited. Yet, I am a bit disappointed. The store shares a large parking lot with neighbor, Home Depot and is right across from Target. My disappointment is with the layout and the selection in some departments. Apparel is located upstairs which kind of makes it a bit of a hassle to shop, unlike the Bellevue store which is single story. The meat and seafood department is disappointing. Not much bigger than the small section in Bellevue. For a large store, I expect more choices. The bakery is also pretty smallish. Deli is decent though. The problem I have is oftentimes there is a bit of a wait. Their natural foods section could have also be bigger. The store itself is spacious and the building is a nice place to shop. My problem is that despite its size, it does not have the product lines that I would go out of my way to this store for. Only if I am shopping at the Target across the street would I likely venture here. read more

Getting Robbed was definitely not on my list today. Note to all shoppers, if you are robbed in their store they will NOT let you see security footage even with the police and a police report. I was in the baking aisle and a guy walked up bumped into me and grabbed my purse and ran. I called for help and NO ONE would help me. This is Redmond for Pete sake!! Insane!! read more

I have been going there for years, well decades and always found what I needed at good prices. Earlier this week, I bought 3 LaBrea take and bake baguettes so I had something at home and don't have to leave the house all the time for little things. I put two packages in the freezer and 1 I was about to use, when I noticed that there are two stickers placed on top of each other. The top sticker said exp. 3/29 (the two in the freezer had 3/28) and I saw a second sticker peeking out, I pulled it off and to my surprise, the bread had an original expiration date of 3/22 and 3/21! This is totally unacceptable, you are selling expired food to customers, how am I ever going to trust you again (is this happening with meats or fish too - Yikes)? The sticker was placed pretty expertly, you had to look very close to see it. If this is how management wants to treat the people walking through the door, my business will go elsewhere. If you lie about expiration dates, how can I trust your store being sanitized and clean in a time like this?! You lost a very loyal customer! read more

This Fred Meyer was just remodeled recently. Honestly between this one and Bellevue, I prefer Bellevue, but this one is still an excellent choice. They have most foods you could be looking for, and when they're out of fresh non-organic produce they'll give you the organic for the same price, which is fantastic for those budgeting and meal planning. Not having to go to another store is fantastic! Since the remodel it's a little hard to find what you're looking for, but if you watch the signs above the aisles you'll soon find your spaghetti. read more

This is a large Fred Meyer locates conveniently off the freeway. It is also across from Target so it is convenient if the store is out of something you can go across the street. The store is clean and well stocked. They have a variety of products and a lot of general merchandise also. At Christmas they have wonderful looking live Christmas trees. Staff is helpful and friendly. They keep lines fair when opening a new one they take a person next in line instead of someone last in line jumping first. So why did I knock off a star?my favorite product which is Coke in 8 oz glass bottles in a 6-pack. Is just way too expensive. At Target it is $4.99 but here is it $6.29!!! I drink one a day so this adds up! I don't know why they price it so much higher. Otherwise they do run good specials and they ahve a great program to earn gas. read more

I mean, there's a shortage of help but there were 2 entire self service aisles closed down and only one aisle of the 3 was open. Cmon guys. read more

I was looking at some large Kitchen appliances at the back of the store. I had to bring a couple of items down on the floor for comparison so I could take a closer look at its labels before making the purchase. The aisle was tiny at the back. A couple of people with carts went around me just fine. Then minutes later, as I was getting ready to put some large items back on the shelf. This short older lady with short blonde hair in a red uniform, who clearly is a staff at the store because she has a name-tag on, walked by me pushing a cart. She sighed loudly. I looked up, she looked so grumpy and annoyed. Without saying a word to me or even an "Excuse Me", she just rudely pushed the large appliance I was about to buy that was on the floor (as I was putting away the other item) to the other side to make room for herself and walked away. Are. You. Serious? Parking can be difficult. Otherwise, a large store just like other Fred Meyer locations. read more

Went in for a few groceries today and there were only 2 cashiers and one bank of self-check open so it takes forever to wait to check out. It is frustrating because when we spoke to the manager he didn't seem to really care and blamed lack of employees. If the employees felt valued maybe they would want to work at this Fred Meyer's. I keep telling myself never, never go here again but it's convenient so occasionally I break my rule. After reading how someone had their purse stolen there that makes it even worse. read more

I used to work at the Redmond Fred Meyer back when it opened, and it is sad how far it has fallen. When it opened it was an impressive store, and you could be proud to work there, and now it just seems like no one cares about it. Particularly after the terrible "remodel". The remodel in reality was moving the shelves closer together to get a feeling of claustrophobia and exposing terrible flooring which was previously hidden. Extra UScans were put in, which means fewer cashiers and much longer lines. The seating area around the deli is dirty with unwiped tables and overflowing trash. They took out the soda fountain, so you can't even get water without having to pay for a bottle. The toilets are broken half the time, the stalls look like they belong in a gas station, and when they are usable, they don't flush well, and the exposed pipes drip what is hopefully condensation onto the floor. It's not a good experience, especially after the Bellevue store had such a good remodel which greatly improved the shopping experience, and this one was so half-hearted and made things worse. This used to be the best Fred Meyer on the Eastside, and now it is undoubtedly the worst. read more

Truly one stop shopping. The seasonal clearance sales always have interesting items around 70% off. Kind of weird to have grocery specials run sun-sat instead of the wed-tues of the others. Of all the local grocery stores (and we are blessed to have one of every major chain within 2 miles), this is my go to place if I need something in a hurry and don't know about a sale. read more

Everytime I come to this location I feel like a piece of me dies. As soon as you walk in the mood your in seems to go down the toilet. The only reason I go here is because there's a Chase ATM inside & its right near the entry/exit. So today I go in to use the ATM & some genius has left their debit card jammed inside. So, the appropriate good citizen thing to do would be to maybe tell a manager, right? Hmm, so I go up to a group of about 5 & make them aware. One looks at me as if I have interrupted her whole being. Then, the other 3 stand there blankly & of course there's the guy who is always a little slower than others and asks me to repeat what I've said. So, after I dont know 3 seconds of NO SOLUTION. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU EXPECT SAFE SHOPPING. THEY ARE NOT ENFORCING THEIR OWN - AND THE STATE'S - MASK REQUIREMENT!! A while back, they refused to fully honor a manufacturer $5 coupon for milk - and the coupon was authentic and from the dairy. I think this was outrageous. The checker said he's never seen a $5 milk coupon so he only gave partial credit for it. So beware. read more

This location is just okay. Five stars for the employees. They've all been great! They don't carry as many things that I like compared to the Bellevue location, boo. The parking lot is a pain in the ass. I'm not a huge fan of the two-story floor plan. Some of the aisles feel a bit cramped. When I can, I really prefer to drive out to the newly remodeled Bellevue store - it's the opposite of all my gripes about the Redmond one. I love that they have 1 hour free childcare. I haven't used the Redmond location's yet, but I'm sure it's just as good as Bellevue's. It's so nice not to have a screaming child in the cart, ughhhh. read more

I've been going to this store since it first opened. I used to go almost every day. Now, not so much. The best thing about this store is their pharmacy. I've dropped off a lot of prescriptions here and not one mix up. The pharmacy staff are all great and super friendly. The biggest challenge with this store is the parking. I don't want to circle the lot more than once to find a spot. They also used to have the best employees who always seemed to open up a lane just for me. Now they're going the self check out route and I'm too old and tired for that. They also have scanners to scan as you go. They're impossible to figure out how to use and I expect it will disappear soon. The new layout leaves a lot to be desired. I'll continue to shop here for certain items and I like browsing their seasonal stuff. However, for my day to day groceries, I go somewhere else and I'm not telling where! read more

This is a seriously huge Fred Meyer. The Starbucks folks up on the second floor are always nice, even when they're busily gossiping with each other. Sometimes it's nice to eavesdrop on who got what schedule this time, or whether so and so is a good manager. Downstairs, it's handy that they have a pharmacy, although I was kind of irritated that the pharmacist on duty the day I went in didn't bother calling me over the intercom to have me come back and explain something on the prescription. No, I wandered around the store for a half hour, then came back and only then was told she had a question. Meanwhile "the lady who ordered a clown birthday cake" was repeatedly asked to come back to the bakery. Maybe the bakery has dibs on the intercom. Or maybe, the bakery didn't have a question with that lady's order. Maybe they just wanted to tell her that most kids are afraid of clowns and she should pick a different cake. read more
