I have lived in the area since 2005, making this "my" FM. Several FMs in the area have recently undergone remodeling, where typically the stores are either closed down entirely (Bellevue) or closed section by section (Kirkland, Lynnwood, Monroe to name a few) to enable new construction. All of these stores are now a lot nicer and more fully stocked than they were in the past. Having seen this, I expected similar for the Redmond store. I heard the intent was to expand food offerings to better serve large populations living in the area. Awesome! I have been in three times since the remodel and am fully disappointed with the change and will not be back. 1. The store infrastructure still sucks. The escalator still breaks down constantly and the elevator is still slow and smelly. 2. The clothing section is jammed together even worse than before upstairs, making it impossible to navigate if you're trying to find anything specific. 3. The expanded food aisles are not necessarily organized in a manner that makes sense. 4. They have DRASTICALLY reduced the baby care section. That is, I went in looking for diaper genie refills to contain sullied diapers and found a few brands of diapers and literally zero means of containing them or refilling the containers for a stink-free existence. I asked and was told they were upstairs in the back corner. However, I had already been up there and scoured the teeny section and found nothing, not even a shelf tag, proving that these were items they carried. 5. They eliminated most of the craft section. Did you know this area has a pretty good sized senior citizen population, particularly in assisted living facilities, who relied on this store for craft supplies, like yarn? Yeah. Now they have to go to a spendy store across town or find someone to drive them to a big-box craft store in another town. 6. They have all but eliminated the electronics section, filling it with toys. Which is fine, but electronics = more than just TVs 7. They mostly eliminated the home section. NBD for me, but I know there are people out there who relied on it. But TAAAAAAARGET is across the STREEEEEEEET! Yes, Target is across the street and also sells most of these things. Target is closed for Easter (good for them) and does not sell yarn. Point being, this store sucks now. Guess I'll be going out of my way to shop the BEAUTIFULLY redone FM in Bellevue or the other one in Kirkland. At least they still have a decent selection of all of the above, not to mention clean stores with working infrastructure. read more

This is a seriously huge Fred Meyer. The Starbucks folks up on the second floor are always nice, even when they're busily gossiping with each other. Sometimes it's nice to eavesdrop on who got what schedule this time, or whether so and so is a good manager. Downstairs, it's handy that they have a pharmacy, although I was kind of irritated that the pharmacist on duty the day I went in didn't bother calling me over the intercom to have me come back and explain something on the prescription. No, I wandered around the store for a half hour, then came back and only then was told she had a question. Meanwhile "the lady who ordered a clown birthday cake" was repeatedly asked to come back to the bakery. Maybe the bakery has dibs on the intercom. Or maybe, the bakery didn't have a question with that lady's order. Maybe they just wanted to tell her that most kids are afraid of clowns and she should pick a different cake. read more

This is definitely one of the nicer grocery stores in the area. Fred Meyer on the whole tends to be one of the cheaper grocery store chains, and they have a lot of variety, as they are a ginormous super-store. There are lots of people out and about to ask questions of. When it comes to their produce and baked goods I am not the biggest fan, but when I have a reason to go to Target and need to get some grocery shopping done I tend to stop in here for the better prices rather than the qfc across from my house that I normally go to. read more

I really enjoy coming to Fred Meyer's after work. Maybe it's an addiction, to getting those rewards points to save a few cents off my gas bill. :( (jk) There's plenty of parking space and if you're also in need of home related products, Home Depot is right next door. I have never had any troubles at Fred Meyer, it's always been a good experience in the Redmond branch. Today, there was a sale on half gallon milk and the shelves ran out of the 2% one. I went up to one of the employees and he immediately went to the back to fill up the milk. Thanks random employee! Note: NEVER go into a grocery store hungry. I've fallen victim to buying more snacks than I planned to ha-ha. read more

Fred Meyer has everything! E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. Except decent ice trays, but we'll overlook that for now. For the most part, prices here are great, and the selection is usually pretty huge no matter what you're looking for. Checkout is hit and miss, sometimes you get someone friendly, sometimes you don't. My biggest complaint about Fred Meyer is the sale prices regularly ring up incorrectly. If you aren't watching the register like a hawk, you will most likely end up overpaying and feel pissy about it later on when you find out. Avoid the chips ahoy knockoffs, the FM "Chipmates". Waxy chocolate that gets stuck in your teeth but they're still chocolate chip cookies so when you've already paid for 3 boxes you just keeping eating and eating and eating them away so you dont have to deal with non-chips-ahoy cookies anymore... no I dont have a problem. read more

If you're visiting this store, I'd recommend registering with the local search and rescue, as it's entirely possible to become very, very lost. (It's two friggin' floors of stuff!) I did some after-Christmas shopping here, and it was fair, though the discounts were sort of anti-climatic. I was promised 50% off on everything on the first floor, but apparently, not the case. I found some measuring cups and spoons for my amateur chef sister, though I later found them cheaper at Target across the street. I did find a great reflective armband for her to use when she goes biking, so that was a good find. The clothes were acceptable, they had some interesting stuff on the clearance rack, and some nice pants. If you pay with a credit card, no receipt is necessary to make returns, so that was cool. Overall, massive store, but a tad pricey. Go to Target. :) read more

Don't buy your plants here. We're from Seattle, but decided to stop in after a trip to the dog park and we purchased some flowers/veggies from the nursery. Almost every purchase has died or is wilting and on the way to death. I think they have some return policy, but I don't have the receipt or any desire to go back to Redmond. Buyer beware of the plants, we'll stick with our local, likely higher priced nursery, because we're fortunate enough to have the resources. The place is HUGE and overwhelming if you step inside. I'm from the DFW area, so when I hear "Freddy" I think of "Nightmares on Elm Street" and not a grocery, clothing, shoes and whatever else kinda goodies you can find. The last time I was in there I found a great sale upstairs on stuff for the six year old. My 2 year old likes to remove her shoes and hide them. The place is around costco, kohls, target and home depot - so location wise, it is as good as it gets. The collection is pretty usual but we went today and were able to collect a bag full of chocolates for the holiday season at awesome prices - lindt, ghirardeli etc. The self service counter makes check out so easy and quick. Overall - a wonderful experience. read more

We just ordered all of our groceries online and picked it up. It is very efficient. Nick put the items in our trunk for us so we didn't have to get out of the car. He was wearing a mask so was glad to see he is keeping himself safe. It was a seamless process. No other people around. Some items substituted but that is to be expected. My first place to go when I'm shopping... has *most* of the stuff I'm looking for (compared to the Bellevue store on 148th which is remodeled, far larger and a wider selection, but further away). Redmond also recently remodeled and rearranged everything so finding stuff now takes some refamiliarization - completed right before Thanksgiving, must have been chaos then. :-) The wine and liquor section used to be outstanding - a major bright spot but then "corporate" took over and now the selection is mediocre - go to BevMo if you're looking for something that's not stocked in every other grocery store in town too. Parking can be a bit challenging in close during peak hours, but that's mostly a testament to their popularity. Park away if you can't find a close spot, just 3 or 4 people driving around or stopping and waiting for someone to load up screws everyone up - the walk will do you good. At least the aisles are much more open and wider now, so inside the store it's not as "congested" as it used to be. Like any other grocery, know what you bought and watch your check-out closely, there's a lot of "if-than" specials that can be confusing and the computers are only as good as whoever programmed them in the morning (and senior discount and military discount days are up to you to flag the checker - they don't ask you if served or were born early in the last century..). My gal brought home some Christmas bows she didn't intend to buy, and the person behind her was probably wondering what happened to hers when *she* got home. Don't dig around in your purse and stay off your "smart-phone" - pay attention to what's going on as the checkers try to get you (and everyone in front and behind) quickly through the line. (Hey, they too could be needing a bathroom break..). All this said, I'm not a "shopper", I'm a "buyer" (and a guy). I do my leg work up front, so that when I arrive, I know what I want, go in, get it, most times use the self-checkout and flag the attendant if I have a question or need assistance (stuck in the "please put the item in the bag" / "please scan your item before putting it in the bag" / "please put the item BACK in the bag" infinite loop) and then get out. If I'm feeling like killing a few hours wandering aisles looking for deals and chatting up the checkout clerks and other customers, I'll go to Home Depot or Harbor Freight! :-) Happy shopping! read more

New store layout is horrible. Only a few check stands with checkers (who are overworked and stressed out). Long lines for the checkers because the self-check process is a hassle for even a few items. Complained to an assistant manager today. He could care less. Good thing Safeway is close! read more

This store needs to do a lot better to remain competitive... Too many times that I checkout there is an issue with pricing,usually related to an impulse buy of something that was on offer but the offer price is not ringing up. There are times when you can't get a hand basket anywhere. The store is not overly busy but no one is collecting the baskets and putting them at the door. The fruit and veg section is very weak and supplies are spotty. A week ago, for instance, they had no non-organic tomatoes. Mushroom prices are the highest of any store. They used to be $2.99/lb but quickly rose to over $4/lb. Why? The selection of items in some areas seems to be dwindling - like cans of baby carrots, or small cans of pineapple chunks - hard to find in stock. Alcohol prices are too high. I've stopped buying any beer or wine there. Clothes are poor quality and overpriced. I could go on for another 1000 words but i'm sure you get the point. read more

For more than a decade, this has been my go-to grocery store. Up until recently, my favorite part about going to this store is that some of the same people have worked there for ages and are kind, friendly, and recognize and greet you (besides the store having an assortment of everything we do and don't need at awesome prices, of course). I say that this was until recently because of another something wonderful. About two months ago, my son's health began to go downhill fast. It was surely a neurological something that wasn't good and we'd been to local doctors and fighting through red tape for weeks with no real solution (and we later learned that the previous doc had totally missed the mark!). While filing a prescription for myself at Fred Meyer one day, my son was with me and I decided to ask the wonderful, familiar pharmacist what she thought about his situation/condition and if she had any suggestions for any over-the-counter and/or home solutions that would at least help relieve some of my son's symptoms. The genuinely caring and thoughtful and informed advice she gave very well may have saved his health/well-being and, that night, he was admitted to a very reputable hospital and has since been under the care of the best specialist in the area. Since then, my son has already made dramatic improvements and is at last on the right track. If it wasn't for her very specific insight and advice, I'd hate to think what could have happened and, at best, we'd probably still be trying to navigate the whole situation on our own. We are forever grateful, and Fred Meyer in Redmond will continue to be our home store. read more

It's fairly cheap. That's the best you can say about it. As far as groceries, many of the items are low quality and tasteless. Dried up vegetables and stinking seafood and items not stocked are common. Some items have numerous brands available, but many have one choice and it is a sad one. I have written the company about this, as instructed by the manager, but have not received a rely for the 3 months since. The staff is nice, but communication of special events and bonus programs is completely absent. I learned about their senior program and rebates from another customer after many months of shopping there. The office refused to apply my previous purchases (averaging $830/month) when I discovered their rebate program). The old adage "You get what you pay for" is ever so true. I prefer to go where the company is honest and fair, and just shop the sales! read more

Yes they have the lowest prices of any grocery store in Redmond, but their aisles are tiny!!! They actually put the bread, cereal and coffee in a single tiny aisle and it's impossible to get through plus there's a giant pillar right in the middle of the aisle!!! They recently started putting displays in the middle of some of the aisles so if it wasn't hard enough to get through before now they dare you to, like in the frozen food section they have huge displays that don't allow more than two karts to be in the aisle at the same time so I just avoid that aisle like the plague. oh, and in the dairy section they have a huge table of cookies and cakes that takes up the whole section and people are always confused on how to get around, it reminds me of a semi-truck being stopped in the middle of the road and you have to carefully get around it without running into another car. They do tons of stocking between 7am and 11am everyday so a lot of times it's impossible to get into certain aisles and sections unless you want to push your way through the employees doing the stocking. This is very annoying that they actually do stocking while the store is open, it seems to me they should only stock the shelves when the store is closed I mean why open at 7am if most of the aisles are impossible to get through? This store is really busy from 11am to 9pm and between those times it's usually jammed and customers are pushing huge karts and usually stopped in a middle of an aisle blocking it with their huge kart. If the store had a better layout, bigger aisles and less displays setup in the middle of an aisle it would be so much better. But I guess they just want to make as much money as possible instead of making the shopping experience better. read more

This is a behemoth of a store. It's huge. I went in on a mission: get groceries. Get them fast. Get them on the cheap. The parking lot is a mother to navigate, but once you get in, get to shopping! Being from Southern California we do not have these kind of places...maybe a super Walmart but this place is cool. You have everything one could want. You could live in here. I needed my Starbucks fix and I did not want to get lost in Redmond during a heavy rain. According to locals it was a heavy rain...just my luck. For those of you new to Redmond..it's VERY easy to get lost amongst all the trees and windy roads. There was a market, clothing department, electronics department, a mini bookstore and a whole bunch more I can't remember. If you need something you'll most likely find it here! read more

Their pharmacy staff is the only thing that makes this store what Fred Meyer claims to be. The pharmacy is fast and incredibly friendly. But that is where your enjoyable experience ends. As for the rest of the store rude rude rude! I cannot ever come into this store without hearing at least one employee being rude to either myself or another customer. The check out process is slow and painful due to their lack of quality customer service. Don't bother complaining at customer service about the awful treatment either unless you are looking to be even more disrespected. Every now and again I will have a decent experience, but they are few and far between. The decent cashiers never seem to stick around either. But I have noticed this seems to be Fred Meyer standard, as all the ones in my area are equally awful. Good luck! read more

Fred Meyer has been my go to store for many years. I have become very disappointed lately in the Redmond store. It was recently remodeled & I think it's much harder to find the items I usually shop for. I don't see very many of the long time employees there anymore & the new staff is not up to par. We have had their credit card & enjoyed the rewards program for a long time, but I'm so dissatisfied lately that I am looking for an alternate grocery store. Fred Meyer used to have good sales occasionally on children's clothing. If they advertise 60 or 70% off it is still not a good sale. I think they have been raising their original price & then calling it a sale which is nothing comparable to how the store was run before. It appears to me that good employees are hard to find. I like Fred Meyer stores for their prices and selection of merchandise, but especially because they don't rip you off if you won't participate in a store "rewards", i.e. tracking, program. That said, this particular store in Redmond Washington plays horrible screaming music that is so loud it's unbearable to shop there. In addition, every couple of minutes they assault you with an even louder screaming commercial. I've contacted customer service repeatedly about this awful shopping experience and they have turned the music and commercials UP LOUDER! The last time we shopped here my wife and I couldn't carry on a conversation because the music was so loud. That is ridiculous. We left and went to Whole Foods down the street. I'm going to patronize a business where I'm treated with respect. If Fred Meyer won't do this it's irrelevant that they have good prices. read more

I like the store, I like their prices, I like MUCH about it. I really like the extra checkers who hang out up front and direct traffic which helps a ton. I have to ding them on stars for the attitude of some of the checkers, who bag your groceries but DO NOT ATTEMPT to put them in your cart. WTH is that about??? THAT is the last impression you want to leave shoppers with? The last one literally just let the bags sit there, and avoided eye contact, waiting for another customer. ODD read more

I work very close to this Freddie's and so it is on my lunch rotation, usually something from the sushi bar and a cup of pineapple chunks. I've been coming here since it opened. It's a huge Freddie's. They have quite a large cheese selection and a pretty good wine department given the upscale nature of its Redmond location. And the women shoppers here are for the most part rather attractive and well dressed, just sayin'. Starbucks is located on the upper level adjacent to the books and magazines. I live in Edmonds and so I am familiar with the Lynnwood and Alderwood stores. They pale compared to this one, sad to say. One thing I notice is the great selection of color bowls, potted and hanging plant selections at pretty decent prices, even late into the summer. Nothing like that in Lynnwood and Alderwood. Still, I wouldn't live on the Eastside, no way. read more

This Fred Meyer (Redmond) was normally my go-to FM. The folks there are all very warm and friendly.....save one person. I can't remember her name. I think it starts with a J. She is a cashier. If I can say that she's a negative person, that would be an understatement. The first time I went into her line, all i heard was complaining about work. And then, once I moved up to her I asked her how she was doing. She stopped and looked me in the eye and said, "Fine, until now." The rest of the time was mumbling and complaining. My son, who witnessed all of this even said, "Wow, she's really rude." Once, I got home, I called the manager. I just wanted to discuss her statement and hoped that she would adjust her negative attitude. Mind you, I had seen her prior to this and she never smiled and I've heard her being rude to other people. The manager was very kind and apologetic. But, things have not changed. I've seen her being frustrated with customers and shaking her head when they aren't looking. I shop at the Kirkland location for the most part now and if i do find myself shopping in Redmond...I avoid her. Ugh. read more

My go-to supermarket! I can always find everything I'm looking for and at a fair price at this Fred Meyer location. They often have really great sales on things I buy all the time. The pharmacy here is top notch, the technicians who work there are excellent and always get my prescriptions quickly are so nice! There is a Starbucks in the upstairs part. If it was downstairs I would utilize it more. LOVE the Boars Head products in the deli!! Bakery makes really good pastry and breads. read more
