Red Wing shoes are super comfy, and are built to last. I got my first pair after getting my feet scanned. The shoes I got were stiff at first, as is expected, but after a week, they are amazing and super comfortable. I am not someone who likes to shop, nor do I particularly enjoy shoe shopping. However, now that I have some solid boots that will last me for many years to come, I'm a very happy customer. The shoes can run narrow, so if you have narrow feet, expect to have them fit like a glove and maybe even go a size up! I went into the Bellevue store that I didn't even know was there until more recently and am always seeing that store is busy so I took a gander inside & I tell ya, i feel like I've gotten The best shoes & the best customer service all while a bunch of us other customers were also shopping in there that day (to say she was busy was an understatement lol) when I was there and everyone including myself I noticed was being taken cared of by the same one person who I later found out is the manager there ( Nichole ) She sure handled all of us as if it was in stride. and she had such a bubbly personality with so much knowledge on every shoe and tidbit you can ever imagine all while being so swamped with all of us customers in there just blew my mind away! I have worn red wing shoes for years ,mainly irish setter for work as a forester. The last pair i bought were not irish setter but a red wing boot with a smooth toe that was intended for colder work with a black soft sole. 'I used them for about a month, put them away, and when i went to use them the sole had started to crumble, they were stored in my closet . I took them back and was told that they would send them back , but there is a considerable price for a new sole. Salesman was not friendly acted like he really did not care. I recently visited this store to look at boots. Now, anyone who knows me, would probably agree that when it comes to customer service, I am relatively low-maintenance. With that being said, I think everyone has a minimum level of assistance they expect when shopping. Especially, when the shoes are nearly $300. Please stop judging me and continue reading jerk. The location is difficult around due to the grocery store in the same complex. Once inside, the salesman looked annoyed and bothered by me being there. Over the next few minutes, the salesman tried to explain to me why they don't have a full length mirror, that the store has no idea of what they'll get in a shipment, and that I could use my phone to take pictures of my feet to see how they look. Needless to say, I didn't buy shoes and will not return. If you can float the extra money, buy your shoes through Zappos and just return the pair that doesn't fit. read more

I was there for the red wing 875. I'm not a brick and mortar person because I buy everything online. But since there are so many fakes red ring online, and sizing is important. I decided to try it out in the store first. The owner were so nice in answering all my dumb question and never make me feel uncomfortable. He let me try a few different size, and shared his experience to make sure I get the right size so the 875 will break in perfectly afterward. I wasn't expecting to purchase on the spot but I did because of the great service. Don't forget to ask about employee discount if you work for some big corporation in the area. read more

I was prepared to take my boot loyalty elsewhere, but because of Red Wing's virtuous customer service, I expect to wear the name proudly for years to come. Last year I spent several months searching for an American- made work boot before settling on an 8" 899 from Red Wing. The original saleswoman (in Boulder, CO) was especially friendly and helpful and left a positive impression. The boots were comfortable and worked well while they lasted, which was only a year and a half. By then, the heel stitching was coming apart, the tread on the soles was nearly worn away, and there was a hole in each toe. Now, I don't know about you, but I expect a $250 boot to last a little longer than 18 months, especially when used for light carpentry-- as opposed to concrete forming or even framing. So I began to grieve the reality that my long-sought-after American-made boots were not all they were cracked up to be. And I considered other companies that I might patronize, Filson and Danner being among them. But, as I had received good service in the past, I decided to bring my complaint and my worn out boots to the Bellevue location to see if they would give ear to my lament. They did that and much more. Without as much as a question, the salesman (Andrew, I believe) confirmed that the boots were defective and directed me to their selection of new boots. He assisted me as I tried on three pairs, settled on one, and ultimately checked out with a pair of boots that I am especially happy with-- all at no out of pocket cost. I will wear my Pecos (American-made, 8" slip-ons) with pride and comfort, hopefully for longer than a year and a half. But, if need be, I will be glad to return to the Bellevue location to purchase another pair of Red Wing boots. read more

The clerk that worked the store gave me a really bad job a cleaning and conditioning my boots. My amber brown Irish Setter boots are stained black from whatever he used to clean them with. At first I thought they were wet from the conditioner, when I walked out the store, then I realized the color shades of black would not come off. Came back the next day, he told me it wasn't boot oil but natural waterproof, he took some the black off the outter sole trim, and said to come back if I wasn't satisfied still. read more

I bought a pair of boots made in the USA in the 200$ range for work. The boots are great. Red Wing will provide a free boot oiling service throughout the life of the boot which is awesome. They also have an 30 day return period no questions asked with their work boots. Redwing's warranty is outstanding. The boots that I bought developed a tear on the inside of the heel of the boot. The boots were still well within warranty (6 months to one year). The guy just took a quick look and about 2 minutes later set a brand new pair of the same model on the counter, without giving me any sort of hassle. This kind of customer service is so rare these days. Support American workers by buying made in USA boots and shoes at Red Wing. They've gained a loyal customer for years to come. Since the Lynwood store has closed, I made the drive from Everett and went into Bellevue store. Nothing but praises for this store and its management. The sales associate was friendly and helpful. I took in a pair of boots that has been giving me trouble, and went to buy some new boots. The manager (Mike) took a look at my current pair of boots while I was being fitted for a new paint of boots (6th pair of red wings). i have bought always purchased Red Wing boots my whole life (57 years ) , the reason is the customer service and quality. They always check my foot size to make sure the last years pair will fit the same. Long story short I went in to Bellevue to get my yearly pair, there were two guys working and i was the only other person in the store. One asked what I needed, told him the type of the last 5 pairs . Said i wasn't sure the size, he grabbed 2 sizes and put in front of chair, and walked off. I asked can you look up my previous size. he flicked the keys and said I'm not in system, started talking to his co worker, I asked again. He was put out , but rattled the key board again and said NO, then i spelled it slowly and wow, they found me. Never once tried to be nice or considerate. More intrigued what his co worker was talking about. This Red Wing shoe store is unusual in that they sell discontinued and discounted new shoes. It's the only such store in Washington. The selection is usually limited to very few leftover sizes, so it's like shopping at the Dollar Store or Goodwill: you have to look frequently. When they have your size in something you like, it's a screamin' deal, sometimes up to 60% off. I've gotten top of the line handmade shoes and boots through this process, so it's worth the effort. I stick to the Red Wing brand: made in the U.S.A. and leave the Worx, Vasque, and other lines for others. read more

My husband and I just walked in to this store and instead of the employee getting up from his chair and leaving his convo with his buddy who had just walked minutes before us to ask if he could help us. He told us "we close in 3 minutes." In a you need to leave manor. We where taken back by his attitude and began to walk out. When he scoffed and sarcastically said "sorry." I turned and just said its fine that you close. But due to your inability to do your job we will take our business else where. This situation could have been COMPLETELY different had he gotten up and locked the doors at closing and said "we are closed so I'm locking up but I can help you find what you're looking for." And not allow anyone to enter AFTER closing. I didnt want to spend my night in there. Probably wouldn't have spent longer than 10 minutes, but he couldn't be bothered to spend the time. I have worked in stores like this and never would have thought to treat a PAYING customer as if my night was more important. Especially seeing as the business was in fact STILL OPEN when we walked in. So we just walked out without looking or making a purchase and took our money with us. Will not recommend this place to anyone. Go to Danner in the landing. Employees are much more personable, worth the drive and money you spend. read more
